  3. Well, to be honest with you. They answered with "Probably" on the question "are you guys going to translate majikoi A-2 TO A-5 after you finished majikoi A-1" I don't recall this being said, but I'll go ahead and say that it is indeed likely we'll continue with the rest of the A series. We'll have an update on this eventually.

  4. Alright, we'll use this thread to talk about it. Here's the prologue to my new series featuring fuwa members. I wasn't sure, but I'm going all in chuuni, lol. Because of the nature of the series, I'll be changing usernames slightly so that they're a bit more ok for the characters. You'll still be able to identify everyone, though. If you wanna follow the series, do it here. I'll be posting it on this fuwablog: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/blogs/entry/980-sengoku-fuwa-1-prologue/ If you wanna sign up, do it here: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/12508-kaguyas-fuwa-fanfics-sign-up/?page=1 And here's the first chapter: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/blogs/entry/983-fuwa-warlords-1-eclipse/

  11. I suspect Chisato felt a connection or affinity with Michuru - though Michuru's past was "MUCH" more traumatic. Chisato could sense as much, at least subconciously. I actually felt the deepest impact from her breakdown in Michuru's story, because she let him go - regardless of how hard it was on her. That takes a certain strength and maturity. (it's also heartbreaking to watch ;_; )

    Dustmania WTF

Uhm, not really ^^ https://vndb.org/v9545 is not based on Nabokov's novel in any way. This VN is a just a product of the "lolita boom" which was prevalent in Japanese entertainment in the 80s. The lolita boom, despite what one may think when he hears that name, isn't exactly based on Nabokov's novel, either. Japanese obsession with little girls comes from a pseudo-psychological book written by Russell Trainer named "Lolita Complex" where he tries to explain in a pseudo-scientific way (he wasn't actually a scholar) why little girls are obsessed with older men. When Lolita Complex was translated into Japanese, it was quite popular with the middle-aged men there. They probably liked the idea of little nymphs who are into them. The first mangaka to draw a "Lolita" was also inspired by Trainer's book and his "Lolita" manga was a big success with the audience and the beginning of that what's now called the lolita boom. You see, the term "Lolicon" derived from "Lolita Complex", Trainer's book, and not from Nabokov's novel. Many people nowadays also think that it means "older men who are attracted to little girls", but that's not true either! It actually describes not the men but the girls and means "little girls who are attracted to older men". Thus the "Lolita"-character isn't just any little girl, it's implied that she is a nymphet, Humbert Humbert's term for these "special" little girls. Those little succubi who target older men with their adolescent innocence, just like Humbert himself was targeted and bewitched by his Lolita (although many moralfags probably think of this interpretation as victim blaming, haha). If you look at the cover of this VN, you will also see one of these little devils! Just look at her expression, she's probably confused by her budding sexuality and how she's getting wet under that innocent little-girl dress when she's fantasizing about mature middle-aged men! ...at least that's what Japanese otaku in the 80s thought. What most people are classifying as "pedophiles" nowadays are in many cases not actual genuine pedophiles. I think most otaku who are labeled as "Lolicons" (which is a misnomer as I explained before, but we will just go with it now) are not attracted by the appearance of little girls per se (which is the definition of a genuine pedophile) but by their innocence. The artificial attraction to little girls is in many cases a result of social awkwardness, especially with normal(-aged) women. Which is probably true for most otakus, haha. Little girls don't judge you, they don't care how you look or how much money you earn. All there is to make them happy is to spend some time with them and play with them. It's truly the ideal relationship for many otakus. I'm pretty sure that's why otakus are so fascinated by Lolis and that's also the reason why in the 80s they very much liked the idea, that little girls are actually interested in them and not only the other way around. Alice Soft games are a good example for the lolita boom, they are full with Lolita-characters. (At least in the 80s and 90s they were.) Elf's games are full with nymphets, too. That said, you shouldn't confuse a "Lolita"-character with the "Loli"-character today. Just like the term Lolicon changed its meaning, a "Loli" nowadays is entirely different from its 80s counterpart. Though it would probably go to far to explain that, too. I actually just wanted show why so many old eroge are "Lolita"-focused and where the term, how the Japanese use it, really comes from.

  17. I honestly don't fault Konami at all for wanting to get rid of Kojima, and my opinion of Kojima has sort of fallen off in the past few years. MGS4 was decent; a mess of a story, but a good, fitting end to the series. Peace Walker was a fucking mess of a game with horrible mechanics, and bad story, and a stupid decision to release on PSP. Ground Zeroes was a good Fox Engine demo and MGSV, while pretty, with enjoyable gameplay, was a poorly written, overly bloated game. It was delayed at least once if memory serves, and I'm sure it wasn't cheap to make. Konami likely rushed Kojima in an effort to make the money back they were sinking in, and companies don't like having to sink more than they originally planned into a game. From a financial standpoint, Konami didn't do anything a normal company wouldn't have done. Keep in min, Konami makes more money from their gambling side with pachinko machines than they do video games. Game development is not cheap. Pachinko machines are. Konami, like any business, wants to make money. Easy decision. Money doesn't care about names, or who did what for video games. The sooner people realize that money controls game development, and not passion or talent, the less stupid gamers will sound.

what's the big deal?is a freaking game nothing more nothing else, if you dont enjoy to see someone fucking a head inside the stomach of another girl then dont watch/read it(by the way the head is alive xD), I read this novel and didnt bother me at all now if I come across to something like this in real life I will call the police, and probably seek a psychiatrist for the PTSD of watching something like that, but then again I understand the difference between REALITY and FICTION. You are not hurting anyone by reading things like this so why should anyone tell you that is wrong? if you are in a vn forum trying to appeal morality then this is the wrong place for that for sure, vns are based on taboo themes or what society in general consider wrong, one of the first novels if not the first one was based on this novel (https://vndb.org/v9545) for god's sake..

  20. I assume you text hook? When I encounter a difficult line, I look up every word, match with the ATLAS machine translation as a reference, reread the sentence a few times, then consider the surrounding sentences (both before and after). That resolves the problem 99% of the time. I never spend more than 2min or so on a single line. If I still can't figure it out, I just skip it. A single line is hardly ever critical to understanding the scene. It sounds to me like you're not reading very efficiently. I can get through a sentence where I have to look up multiple words at maybe a little slower than speaking pace.

  23. 1. Hitler was a great leader, not a good person, but he was a great leader for that era of Germany. He pulled germany out of the depression, gave everyone jobs and food, but he had to use some scapegoats, if he managed to accomplish everything without killing everyone, he would probably be recognized as a hero, but at least he did some good, if he just killed people and did nothing good, then people will hate him for being a dictator. 2.i'm pretty sure that the early civilizations are not as humanitarian as you are , so your way of thinking from the modern perspective is probably wrong compared to their way of thinking, we would automatically think that slavery and inequality is wrong because it doesn't exist in our time period(its mostly gone by the time we are born, the slaves were freed, the women gained right to vote, etc), and how we are educated to think that its wrong. i'm not saying there are no humanitarians that think like you, its just that the society back then viewed it as something normal so they didn't handle it as an issue.humans fear unknown things( much more in the past, and still to this day some are still ignorant to science), so when someone proposes something new, the majority of society will reject it,the smart were treated badly because the general populace was too incompetent to understand or this new idea somehow threatened the power or revenue of a certain group(like how the Roman Catholic Church wanted to hang Copernicus because of his heliocentric theory). tl:dr ,the greeks may have done things that we view as wrong, but you can't really blame them because during their era, it was pretty normal for them to do, and probably not many people stood out to correct them,so you can't really blame them.

in that case you´d have to also ban every other title focusing on sexual content, which is viewed illegal in real-life, if there´s even the slightest possibility of what feels like 0,00001% of its buyership getting encouraged to try it out for real. see, its pointless... edit. like it, or not, but such things do already happen in reality and i´m pretty sure that most of those, who participated in sexual acts, such as the ones described above, have never ever read, btw. heard of the term dark eroge before.

And most people look at us funny that we masturbate to 2D anime characters. I can respect any fetish as long as it doesn't involve killing an actual person in real life. hey atleast we masturbate to 2D anime character with complete limb and perfectly alive, not to mention doing it with the right 'hole'. but this... ? this is sick, eye socket ? brain ? neck ? dismembered corpse ? isn't this kind of sexual interaction illegal ? also, just wondering is this game actually allowed to be published. sure it's just drawing but it's still human being that's been drawn. Are you proposing masturbation should be illegal now? No really, the human mind is so fickle and our brain works in so many ways, that there's billion of subjects and objects that people masturbate to. And by the way you are responding, you seem to be someone who is still very young and hasn't explored his/her fetishes yet. As you grow older, you will be able to understand it more. You will be like, why the fuck is [insert ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING here] making me wet/giving me an erection?

    Doujin Games

I've been playing a lot of doujin games recently and I figured I should post/review about them to give them some coverage. I don't know how that fuwa reviews or whatever crap works so I'm just going to post them in visual novel discussion. Doujin games are games made by small publishers and are typically pretty low quality and made to satisfy a niche (especially in terms of eroge). They are all basically nukige. Despite this, doujin games can be quite fun and a nice breather compared to long visual novels as doujin games are typically quite short, and some games are more than just nukige. There's a lot more that could be added on to this, but I'm too lazy so someone else can do that if they feel inclined to do so. Every Doujin game I play contains gameplay elements, as that is what I like. The first I will review will be Miniature Garden, as it is the game that has finally convinced me to do something like this. I was informed by the esteemed gentlemen over at that thing they call teamspeak that the game looked like hentai. While there is erotic content because it is a doujin eroge, the game has much more redeeming qualities than porn. Honestly, the images they chose to show on dlsite are quite poor representations of the game in my opinion, but hey maybe they thought it would boost their sales. They also are kinda spoilerly, because I didn't get to the darker parts of the game before I saw those images. Link to game >> http://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ141831.html Link to circle >> http://circlesekilala.blog.fc2.com/ >> Some teasers of some stuff in the review. Full review will be posted when I actually finish the game (here's hoping it doesn't dissapoint) Atmosphere: I’m not entirely sure if many people actually care about this, however this is extremely important for me. It greatly affects how well I can enjoy a game, and thus I will talk about what I liked about the atmosphere in the game. To sum up the atmosphere of the story, is that it is governed by a strong contrast between the light and dark forces within the game. (this ain’t no moege!) The real world is a dark place, filled with irrational and the unreasonable. However, in order to maintain our sanity we turn our eyes away from such things and live to the best of our abilities. Miniature garden is a dark world, and the darkness is just around the corner, but we as a player for the most part turn our eyes away from this darkness and instead indulge in the relatively cheerful and hopeful environment that surrounds the main character and the story(at least at first!) Gameplay: The gameplay is scenario based with a two-stage combat mechanic. The first stage is the standard dungeon-crawling set up, with monsters you can see on the map. Monsters have a detection circle, and if you engage with them while undetected by their detection circle, you gain an advantage going in to combat. The character also has a certain number of ranged attacks (type changes based on character) as well as SP for skills. If a monster engages in combat with you from behind, you gain a disadvantage going in to combat. The second stage is real-time combat. You press the left/right arrow keys to switch between enemies targeted, z to shoot with your weapon, a s d to switch stances, and x to activate skills. When your ammo goes to 0, you need to reload, during which you need to wait for the gauge under your health to fill up. Some guns refill one bullet at the time, while the submachinegun needs to wait till it can refill all the way to full before you get any bullets back. (You don’t need to empty the canister before reloading). Each character combat mechanics are a bit different, but essentially you want to stay alive, and bring the enemy’s HP to 0. Enemies also have a “break” gauge, which if you max out by launching repeated attacks stuns the enemy. This resets the gauge to 0, and makes it harder to max out based on each successive stun. (Gauge cannot be built while stunned) A degree of skill is required to actually beat the bosses/harder monsters in the game, as you need to manage your skills/ammo and enemy break gauges well. では、お楽しみを!

  40. I just finished Magi , and I would recommend this anime because its really awesome and worth the watch. Its action comedy with some elements of shounen, and its overall great, its really hard to find something packed with action that can still make you laugh without some cliche plot. The shounen isn't too strong, so there is no stupid crap like I will save everyone with the power of love and friendship, but you can still catch the idea that its there because if MC was serious, the plot would be really different. Gonna watch overlord next, there is a S2 for Magi, but I'm gonna put that away for later since I'm not in the mood for another 25 episode, i'll stick with something shorter.

  42. I have a few ideas I might like to write out at sometime. There's this one that would be absolutely absurd in my opinion, so I guess it's perfect. The basic concept is that there's this artifact floating around the world, a magical artifact. In fact, it's a magic hat. When you pick it up and nobody's used it recently, it's just a piece of cloth, so you wrap it around your head. Doing so activates the hat, which comes to life by becoming either the hat you most desire subconsciously. It turns into said hat gains a personality that's concurrent with the hat you chose, and grants you powers befitting the lore behind said hat. Oh, and you play as the hat, the different routes being different people who wear you. It's silly but it could be fun, I think.

  43. I'll try to give a decent explanation, though keep in mind each group works differently. Hacking comes before anything else since you need to grab the scripts. Your hacker will extract the scripts, image assets, and anything else you may need for you to work with. Later on he might help you out with technical details but that depends on a plethora of factors that may or may not happen throughout the translation. With the scripts in hands, the translation begins. Some games divide the scripts in big chapters, some in just scenes, others have the whole VN in a single script, things can change depending on that. Well, I think the most common would be multiple scripts with a scene in each. Here's where things will start to differ from group to group. After a script is translated, where will it go? More often than not it'll go through a process of grammar and spelling checking, some groups might have someone responsible to read the translated script and see if any changes can be made to rearrange the words into proper phrases and not just some word by word translation. I honestly don't know the appropriate name for each function so I guess those would be the editor and the reviser respectively. Well, after those two are done we have the quality checking/assurance. The QC/QA will read the script and check if everyone else did their jobs right. Some groups may add a translation check and/or a proofread (whatever that is) somewhere. Image editing usually doesn't needs anyone else other than the translator to provide the translation for the menus and texts on the images if there's any. Kinda like the weird kid on the block. After all is done, either the leader of the project will pack everything up and upload the patch somewhere or the hacker will come back from his slumber to make things happen again. Some teams will throw a beta test before the patch is released but I don't think all of them choose to do so, it kinda delays your release and at that point everyone should be burned out. Maybe there's more and I forgot but I think these are the important aspects of a fan-TL project.

  44. Voluntary. Though it coincided a lot with my other goals in life like moving out of state, cheaper standard of living, getting my own place, getting another job (which pays more), new experiences etc. So it was a really easy decision and relatively easy to pull off since I was ready at the time (and even easier with Cyr's support). Logged in on my phone just to fangirl. I am fangirling so hard right now like ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Glad everything is working out! Confession: I usually don't confess much but here's to Linova/Eclipsed or others who might be interested. I'm glad I was able to break the 1000+ miles barrier. It always felt like this huge wall in between us. It felt like it didn't matter how long or how often we talk. I know that if it had stayed online, nothing would have came out of it. It only served to maintain the interest until something happens. Given the distance there was always uncertainty, of whether I we'd work out "IRL" and there was no way of answering that online (Even 8+ hours of skype calls won't get close to answering that). Since Cyr won't be able to do anything about it in a reasonable time, it was up to me. I had to act and get it together. Luckily I had already been saving up and preparing for my move months even before I met her and had interest in that part of the US. After awhile I was ready, but I won't just move there with nothing to back me. So I absolutely had to have a more-than-minimum-job lined up already before the move. This was really tough. Given the job market and the fact that I'm so far out of state. Most hire locally and won't bother to look online. Only one came up and it was super risky. It was a Tuesday when I got the notice for the interview, which would be held that Friday. I have to pay hundreds of $$, fly for the weekend and back, take a day off from my current workplace --- all without reimbursement. It was higher pay and huge company so I thought why not. I came out disappointed that weekend because the job i interviewed for wasn't what I was expecting it to be. Though long story short, I ended up getting it because they opened up a new (different) position for me. Anyways, When it came to it, the 1000+ miles drive was nothing. Gunned it in 2 shots. I guess I'm lucky Cyr's not in another country or something. But I'm leaving away established familiar place, friends, and family for the sake of this move. Looking for an apartment was tough. Lots of challenges but it helped me tones that I had $$$ saved up and Cyr saved my butt so many times. P.S: Unfortunately, though everything worked out and I'm super satisfied with many aspects of my life right now, my new job is making me unhappy. I applied to places (near me of course) already 2 weeks into my new job. I have one interview this week in field that I want to be in. (proof that I can easily get interviews if I'm part of the local pool... as with entry-level jobs). Hopefully I can get it and it's a better job, so I can start thinking about enjoying the moment and looking into the future.
