Noble☆Works English Translation Patch (by The Oxford Comma is Superior Subs) Summary "Well, I'll just come out and say it. We want you to... become Shuri's body double!" Fujishima Takumi is a regular high school student just trying to make ends meet via his part-time jobs. Unfortunately, one day his employer becomes bankrupt and bails without giving Takumi his pay. Depressed and now broke, Takumi wanders the streets and eventually bumps into someone... who looks exactly like him! Turns out this clone of his is Kanemoto Shuri who is from a rather wealthy family. Due to very, very special circumstances involving Shuri's medical condition and constant harassment of kidnappers, Takumi is asked by the Kanemoto household to attend the prestigious Rokuroku Academy in Shuri's place. Initially only accepting due to his financial needs, Takumi slowly but surely finds himself enjoying his new life as the doppelganger of Shuri... Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order There are five heroines and one bonus route: Akari, Sena, Hinata, Shizuru, Maya, and The bonus route is unlocked after completing at least one route. Extras (CG + H-scene viewer) are unlocked upon completing at least one route. Sprite viewer is unlocked upon completing all routes + bonus route. You may play in any order you like (besides bonus first), I'm going Akari -> Hinata -> Sena -> Maya -> Shizuru -> bonus Route Guideline Beware: there are three "return-to-title-screen" gameover choices: Kanemoto Akari Tsukiyama Sena Kunihiro Hinata Masamune Shizuru Nagamitsu Maya ~~ Bonus Route (accessible upon completing at least one route) Attribution This walkthrough was created and formatted by Eclipsed with information based on trial-and-error (10%) and the Fiddler (90%). VN Of The Year - Character Of The Year Thread 2015
Canicheslayer and one other reacted to Funyarinpa for a topic
Basically, what's your VN and your Girl (or Boy) of the year (in terms of romantic/sexual interest)? The only requirement is that you read at least a significant portion of the VN in 2015 and finished it. I watched an LP of Danganronpa 2 in 2014, so discounting that. My VNOTY 2015 is... YU-NO: The Girl That Chants Love At The Edge Of The World is my VNOTY. The normal routes were a fairly entertaining time travel story and an unexpectedly complex Jewel system (for which I just used a walkthrough after getting stuck once due to finding it too random) was very interesting to use. The cast and their interactions were great, I especially liked the artwork which featured actually distinct portraits, every single sprite had its own charm. You had the broad and ominous Ryuuzouji, the laid-back Yuuki, the prude Mio and the stylish Eriko. IMHO the character portraits hold up extremely well. The h-scenes were also surprisingly sensual and the minimalist CGs suggested more than eyes could see or hands could draw. Every route set up a very interesting mystery, and then the true route came crashing down upon my senses. I read YU-NO in the summer, and despite having to stop for close to a month halfway through the routes due to vacation, I was just as invested in the story when I returned as I'd been the moment I finished Ayumi's route. What follows is a more spoilery reflection on YU-NO, so don't read that unless you've finished this VN- there are surprises in it I'd want every single reader to experience for themselves. I agree, pursuing a language-based career is not something that's easy to do. There are many writers and translators out there competing in your line of work, and only a handful of them are actually successful. More times than not, you will have to pursue a side job in order to finance your ambitions. But I think it's still very doable. I don't know if this is the case with you or not, but if you're looking at the entire route from start to finish, you're overwhelming yourself. Rather than think about what you need to do entirely, try breaking it up into short-term goals and only concern yourself with that. There are 4 parts to language study that can help reinforce your understanding of the English language. You have reading, writing, conversation, and alternate language research. Tackle each aspect individually, and work on it over a long period of time. Remember, you have your entire life to dedicate to your ambitions. The earlier you get started on it, the earlier you master it. If you're good enough, you could write a book with a video game or movie adaption that's just as popular as series like Lord of the Rings or The Witcher. By then, everything you print will be a hit and that's where your career takes off! Also, remember the baby steps philosophy. It's more productive to put in a small amount of effort every day than it is to put in large effort once in a blue moon. Try to do something that helps you further your abilities every day for 30 minutes or an hour. It's a short period of time in which you can realistically expect yourself to commit to on a daily basis. And if you find that you can comfortably increase your effort as you do it more, then by all means. Just make sure you can do it consistently.2 points -

Current Game - Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o 見上げてごらん、夜空の星を Current Route - Common Route Stream Location: http://hitbox.tv/originalrenfuwanovel Next Stream Date - TBA Additional Information: https://vndb.org/v16560 Previous Videos Link: TBA When Akito was still just a child he used to watch the stars together with his childhood friends. Seeing so many of them through his telescope excited him. It was like he could travel to the galaxy every day. But as he grew older he actually got to be known as “The Astronomy club member that’s not looking at the stars”. Then one day he receives an invitation to join the Mutsuraboshi club. And when he heads over there to politely decline he has an unexpected reunion with his childhood friend Hikari. Then there’s Saya, another one of his childhood friends, and Orihime, a senpai from another school who wishes for the Mutsuraboshi club’s revival. The last one in the list is Korona, who’s slightly younger than the rest. Fueled by the reunion Akito once again begins to look up at the night sky. Precious feelings that he though he had lost now returned to him. “Let’s aim for the next step to unlock the mysteries of the galaxy!”. And so, surrounded by his friends, his days are filled with stargazing once more… Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Here we go once again!2 points -

You can try the murder mystery detective Cartagra + Kara no Shoujo + Kara no Shoujo: The Second Episode. The MCs are detectives, there's romance, and people die Kara no Shoujo it is. When I read the name I was thinking that I have read it somewhere before and I realized that I have watched a hentai with the same name before. I literally was watching that hentai for the plot by the end. Looks like I will be able to read the full thing and know the whole story about how his fiance dies and stuff. Thanks a lot!!1 point

Pulltop's new VN, Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o looks beautiful, has a large cast of voiced characters with sprites, and generally is an obviously high-budget VN... but it is also a VN I'm not really interested in. You might want to ask why... after all, I like Pulltop's games in general, and it doesn't look any worse than the others by the same company, in terms of production values. It is also being hyped a lot (inasmuch as VNs are ever hyped) and a lot of the people who have just begun playing Japanese VNs are excited... unfortunately, veterans are somewhat less so (with a few rare exceptions). Here are the reasons: 1. The existence of an the protagonist's memborship in an astronomy club. I'm going to be blunt... no other club has so many protagonists as members of it in all of VNs. For every four moege, there is one with a 'tenmon bu' and the protagonist is either a member or helps out. The obsession with stars is more of an otome thing, so I can't help but wonder why... I really am tired of reading VN lectures on constellations I don't give a crap about. 2. The existence of two osananajimi heroines... the osananajimi heroine is the biggest cop-out heroine type. The reason? Because the simple statement 'we are osananajimis' becomes an excuse for laziness in character development and relationship development. It also becomes an excuse for one of the most fundamentally idiotic tropes out there... the 'osananajimi>lovers transition'. I have yet to see one of these that wasn't annoying and made real sense when you took a step back and thought about it. 3. The decision to include a non-entity protagonist. Understand, one of the signs any given VN-maker will almost always give - without realizing they are giving it - when they are going to make the protagonist a non-entity or cipher is failing to give the protagonist his own character profile, even when other male characters have one. I am sick and tired of this reliance on using 'normal' protagonists with a group of heroines harem. It doesn't work and it doesn't make sense, so I wish they'd just stop it. It is one thing if the heroine's link to the protagonist is non-love/non-interest before you get on the actual path... it is almost conceivable that way. However, the dense idiots created by most of these companies just don't work as harem masters.1 point

Is not that i doubt what he says but they told us in the past that the patch was already to be released this was on july and a month ago that they were going to release it in a week, it seems that the knew from the start what was going on and thus this big delay and now this is happening, so yeah forgive me for not trusting anyone this day. The word of a person on the internet doesnt worth much sadly this is a generalization and I do trust many people but not if i dont talk to them personally, not that it bothers me or anything either, business are business and it is better to release something and make profit from it than to give it just for free so I understand.1 point

Subahibi is getting an official localization
AaronIsCrunchy reacted to Decay for a topic
Moogy confirms that there will be no kickstarter, and KeroQ is doing this completely independently. As he puts it, this is likely the new trend. Frontwing went behind SP's back for ChiruChiru and will probably not work with anyone else on future projects, Key also went independent, and Conjueror was hired directly by an unnamed Japanese company for a project. I get the feeling that MangaGamer, JAST, and SP's market shares will start shrinking rather rapidly in the coming years.1 point -

CONFESSION: I use you guys in lieu of an actual social life. I really do. The internet has made certain things easier. When you find people you share things in common with and can socialize in some way, such as message boards about Japanese porno games stories, you tend to use it as a surrogate friendship. Heck, I actually got married because of CrossGen's boards way back in the day. So, I love you guys.1 point

End of the year is near! Favorite moment of 2015?
Gibberish reacted to Shikomizue for a topic
I'm gonna be that one guy who says all the mushy stuff so bear with me here. I joined Fuwa on February 24th and a lot has happened since then. I learned more about Visual Novels, I joined the anime club and I met lots of people here. I'll start from the beginning. My introduction thread: I decided to sign up and join this community since I wanted more info about VNs and there seemed to be a multitude of nice people here. My thread was nothing special compared to all the others, but it's interesting to go back and see all those that greeted me are people I know/are familiar to me now. I also hadn't watched many anime back then either, just the most popular stuff that looked good such as One Piece. The Ambidex Game: Not too long after joining, I found in the Member's Lounge the Ambidex Game run by Stray Cat at that time. It looked like a nice opportunity to meet some people so I said why not and signed up. I met quite a few individuals there, such as the aforementioned Stray Cat, Tiago F.Varela, Funyarinpa, Kurisu-Chan, LinovaA, Cyrille and probably a few others that I can't remember at the moment. The Anime Club: I joined the club in February as well, it was an interesting experience. It was my first time joining a club of some sort. I joined for the same reason as the Ambidex Game and that it would be a good chance to find new anime to watch. My visits to Fuwa continued peacefully like this for a while till late June, when Stray Cat left the site for certain reasons. He put me in charge of the club since I was most qualified, being there every cycle for the last few cycles. We didn't contact each other again till a little later. A Friendship is Born: A little while after Stray left, KosakiFag had commented on one of my status things that nobody uses anymore. We had a conversation about that, then we played Osu together and learned stuff about each other. I then made a PM where we talked for a while. Eventually, he asked if I had a Skype account and if we could talk there. I said I'd make one and we started talking through that. Not too long after, Kosaki told Stray that I had a Skype account and we started a group chat. Over time we added more people to the group and we talk pretty often. Some Miscellaneous Stuff: I started my Strange Stories sometime before Stray left and have been writing them ever since, even if they're few and far in between. I finally finished Rewrite a few months ago and I started up Majikoi soon after. All in all, these are my favorite moments of the year and my favorite year so far. I hope to be here for many years to come!1 point -

I have only seen one VN that was kinda like this - https://vndb.org/v14922. But unlike most traps, who seem to be cross-dressing just for comedic and/or fetish reasons, Toboso was written much more seriously (as much as surreal guro VN allowed), and was actually suffering from sexual identity disorder with all the related drama (and not only that). But this VN probably shouldn't count, because (moderate spoiler): For a more typical VN with one trap "heroine", I will definitely read https://vndb.org/v9175 someday. I dislike "fake-yuri" VNs - those that have a typical Yuri setup, except with a cross-dressing guy as a protagonist (like Otoboku). That's just a blasphemy. Otherwise, I don't mind trap protagonists, or traps in general. They are neutral to me (though maybe I'd classify trap x trap stuff as "somewhat interesting"). As for reverse-traps - I don't like them. Outside of H-scenes they look and act like dudes, so with male protagonist, their routes kinda have gay-vibes most of the time, and with female protagonist - they reduce the overall "yuriness". Reverse-trap as a protagonist (https://vndb.org/v6680) seems like an interesting idea though.1 point
