  1. It finally happened. I hope you like redundant [insert number here] post "looking back at"-topics, because we're at it again, ladies and gents. I found Fuwa in June 2014, when torrents were still a thing around here. It was a neat site back then, but I really didn't visit it that often, only a few times in the span of the rest of 2014. Then when 2015 rolled around, the changes to the site sort of pushed me away, and I slowly forgot about it. I never really fancied Fuwa, and I liked r/visualnovels much more, and thus spent the majority of 2015 there. And then December of 2015 rolled around. I was talking to a few of my friends and decided to make an account on here, though the account was only for the sole reason to post my partial save file of KoiChoco, to skip Chisato's route. I soon after forgot about Fuwa again. However, I did check the comments on the thread every now and then. Some time after that, I was thinking about translating the first game in the Bishoujo Mangekyou series, but as this kind of topic would be kind of stupid on r/vns, I posted that query here, and got quite a positive reception. That was a little over 3 months from now. A few days later I noticed how Fuwa had a option for chatting, so I decided to give that a try. From that point on my Fuwa experience was only about chatting and doing my translation project. I never would've thought about being active in the Forums. But then things changed. Mainly Kaguya's little experiment, Chatmod-chan. I decided to volunteer for it, and met a few good people. It was fun, for the week it lasted. Soon after that, I was invited to my very first PM chat/conversation. From there I met even more people, and decided to also become active on the Forums. This was at the mid-point of January, I think. From that I steadily rose with my posts, had some laughs, had some disputes, gushed about Gahkthun, it was mostly good. Then, in the mid-point of February, I got to know some new personalities, including some of the mods. Soon after that OriginalRun made a certain topic about the under-staffing of the chat, mainly the moderators there. Soon after I was elected to the rule of a chat mod, thanks to Kaguya. Through that I met some new people, and gained even more of a rich experience. I felt like I had reached a good point in Fuwa in a such short period of time. That's the sweet and short version of my history here. Now for the part you all love oh so much, the nominations. @Kawasumi You're one of the two users I knew before coming to Fuwa. I hope to see you around even more. @12kami One of the major chat personalities I've interacted with. You're a lot of fun, I'm looking forward to more. @Dergonu The first person I ever had any long conversations with aside from Kawasumi. You're a nice guy, keep doing what you're doing, yuri-freak @CeruleanGamer I haven't talked to you a lot, but you have interesting opinions and our interest align a lot, so I like you. @Kaguya The mod I've talked the most with. I respect you, hope it continues that way. @VirginSmasher You're a cool guy, our interest don't always align, but I usually like to hear what you have to say. @DarkZedge I like you. You haven't talked about your tastes that much outside of Comyu, but I do like the fact you're an avid neko lover. @gijimu Another fun person from chat. I like your output most of the time, and you're an overall very nice to be around. @Zebhra You always have a some fun input in the chat. Keep being a massive pervert, old man. @mitchhamilton I like our little master-servant relationship we have. Good going, trap lover. @Kiriririri Other good guy/gal from Northern Europe. I like your obsession of moe, you're a good guy. @Ayana Good ol' Zealty. You're still fun to be around, and your obsession with traps is entertaining to watch. @Poinu You are always entertaining in the chat. Be it your moaning about Chinese or just starting Poi trains. @SajkoWolfe You're the last of the majoj chat personalities important to me. You're fun to be around, never change. @Tay Haven't really interacted with you that much, but we all are thankful to you for keeping the site alive, and so am I @Nosebleed I can definitely see why you're so popular and respected around here. Keep on breaking the site. Other fellow chat mods @Kurisu-Chan, @Nimbus and @Makudomi. Honorable mentions for people I've interacted to some amount, but not enough. And with that, this post has reached its conclusion. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to figure something clever for my title. Until we meet again.

  6. It looks professional. I'm not sure what sort of critique you're looking for. From a lore standpoint I assume you plan to populate it with different creature types. Be aware that from an ecological standpoint it doesn't make much sense to have distinct zones with their own flora and fauna if the entire thing is only 5 miles wide. In fact, with a space that small it's doubtful whether a stable ecosystem could even be maintained. It could be instructive to study up on the Galapagos Islands if you wish to introduce an element of realism. Also, how is there a desert next to a lake with a river flowing through it? Grasslands next to a forest? A forest next to an active volcano? Consider how these bizarre phenomena could happen within natural laws--and if you can't explain them through natural laws, then explain them with supernatural ones.

  7. Beat Blades Haruka review, By Dergonu, Fuwanovel Beat Blades Haruka is a gameplay oriented nukige released by Alice Soft, which was recently translated and licensed by Mangagamer. The game offers 150 H-scenes, ranging from normal vanilla scenes to darker things like rape and beastiality. The game's appeal is clearly rooted in it's H-content, but does that mean that's everything the game has to offer? In Beat Blades Haruka you play as Ikusabe Takamaru, a boy who desperately wants a girlfriend. His friend, Narika, keeps getting in the way of his possible romances, something that irritates him quite a bit. But soon, his fairly normal life of being rejected by women and half-assing himself through school quickly comes to a halt when the beautiful ninja Haruka, who has traveled to our time from the past, suddenly appears in Takamaru's life. Chasing the evil Noroi who has lept through time with his follwers in order to turn the world into chaos, Haruka and her fellow Cresent moon members turn to Takamaru for help. It turns out, Takamaru is a descendant of the Dragonian, meaning he has the power to transfer strength to the blades of the crescent moon. (The blades being female ninjas.) This power, SP, is transfered from the Dragonian to the blades by ... Having sex. Takamaru's mission is to use the blades at his disposal to fight the four Tetra Sealers, Noroi's most powerful subordinates, take down the towers which connect to Noroi's realm, and to stop him once and for all. During the game, the player gets a whole lot of choices that will allow them to take full control of their destiny. Will you be the good guy, fighting to stop Noroi? Or will you give in to your dark desires, using the blades as tools for your own pleasure and gain? Offering a large variety of different endings, Beat Blades Haruka is a very unique gameplay nukige that allows its player to choose a lot more than just a singular ending, but they have the ability to impact the very way the entire game is played. The gameplay: During the story, a big part of your time will be spent preparing your heroines for battle. During the gameplay parts of the VN, you will be matched up against an enemy. You can spend SP, (sex power), that you accumulate through dragon syngery, (sex), to unleash powerful attacks against your opponent, and you train your heroines stats through either dragon synergy, training, castle raids or defeating enemies. The lower your stats are compared to your opponent, the harder it is to win. The stats highlited in blue, like the defense in this picture, means the stat is underleveled compared to your opponent, and the chances of winning are smaller. By losing a fight against a male Kainin, one of Noroi's lieutenants, the heroine will be raped and an option to skip the following rape H-scene will appear. (Unless you disable that feature in the option menu.) The gameplay is entertaining, though it is a little difficult at first. Getting used to what all the different stats does is a little bit hard and overwhelming, and the stats are also a little poorly balanced. For instance, by stacking a large amount of reflex, you will be able to sweep through the game, as your character will essentially never miss, and she will also dodge a lot of the opponent's attacks. But if it's the other way around, and your reflex stat is low but your other stats are high, you still wont do much damage, as most of your attacks will be dodged. Basically, there is too much focus on reflex, something that makes combat a little bit imbalanced at certain points in the game. Your opponents gets really strong in the late game, meaning their reflex stats are high, and so if you didn't train your heroine correctly, a bad end is waiting for you. (If you are defeated by a sealer, you get a bad end and a game over.) Still, these flaws aside, the gameplay is enjoyable. It's fun training up your heroine, either choosing to clear out the streets to protect the people like the good guy, or simply being an asshole and having your heroine raped over and over. (This increases her stats a great deal, however it gives you + brutality, and if the heroine is raped too much, it can lead to a brutal bad ending.) The variety offered to you makes playing the game a second, third or fourth time fun. The phase system, Libido and your dice While we are still on the gameplay part of the VN, there is a few things to note. The game itself is split into four parts, 3 phases and then actual story. The 3 phases are morning, afternoon and night phase. Between these phases the game's story progresses, and you see normal VN style dialogue as well as choices that you can use to impact the story, as well as your heroine's stats. During the morning and afternoon phase, you either train up your heroine by having sex, raise your libido or rest, in order to get more dice recovered. The night phase is spent actually fighting your opponents, and going on castle raids. (What exactly are these dice and how do they work?) The dice system in Beat Blades Haruka is what let's you make your "moves" in the phases. You get X amount of dice each day, based of your dice recovery. You can have a maximum of 8 dice at a time. The dice can be a number between 1 and 6, and the dice itself is used to "pay for" actions. As an example, if you want to sleep with haruka to increase some of her stats and her SP, you have to "pay" some dice. The lower levels of dragon synergy are cheaper, but give less stats, the higher levels are more expensive but give you more stats. The system is very forgiving. If you roll a 7 on something that needs 8 to complete, 7 will be subtracted from the action, so that in the next phase, it will only cost 1 dice. The dice itself is based off RNG, though do note that it is essentially impossible to soft reset for. Still, with the way the system is made, soft reseting for dice is not even needed, so there is nothing to worry about there. If you do it right, completing the game in the 99 days given to you is a walk in the park. Lastly, libido is a strange stat. It is what makes your dice recovery higher. Every 10 points of libido, your dice recovery goes up by 1. What does this mean? It means that after the night phase, you will get back X dice. So if you have a dice recovery of 5, the next day following a night phase, you are given 5 dice. Raising your libido is simple, and is done by either having sex with a female Kainin, choosing an option at a choice screen with (libido) next to it, or just clicking "raise libido". The game's value beyond H-content? We have already talked about the gameplay side of the game. It's entertaining, though very repetative and it's also focused strongly around H-scenes. (In order to prepare your heroine for a battle you have to have sex, and if you lose a battle, you get into a rape scene. H is a big part of this nukige, obviously.) But what about the story itself? Music, art, characters and such. What is the value of the game outside just the H-scenes? The character designs and art in the game is overall very nice. A lot of work seems to have been put into each character's design, though the personalities of the the main characters are fairly bland and simple. Most work seems to have been put into the kainins and tetra sealers. They are all very badass, pretty, hot, what have you. Each one of them has many small details that stand out, and are just overall very well made. The main characters are by no means poorly designed, but in comparison they do fall a little short. The art itself is very nice, with animated cut-scenes, well drawn backgrounds and detailed character sprites. The music in the VN is pretty good, offering a variety of tracks for different situations that fits well with the atmosphere of the scene. The story itself is what it is. The game does take itself seriously; it's not like it just jokes around and put all focus on H. The story is decent. There is moments where it will take you by suprise, certain moments that are more emotional than others, though the actual story is fairly short. The main focus of the dialogue aspects of the game lies in the different scenes you can get with the heroines and side characters by making choices. If you focus on one girl a lot, increasing her love hearts in the game, you will go on dates with her and get close with her. If you are an asshole and just have your blades raped and defeated, you will get unique scenes that deal with this. The actual main story that remains the same through all playthroughs is therefore minimal, as the game wants to keep the focus on your choices as the player. This is both a flaw and a strength in the VN. It's a flaw because it means that ultimately, the story itself is slightly underwhelming and short, but it's also a strength because it does mean the player feel like he or she is more in control of the outcome. All in all Beat Blades Haruka is a solid VN, offering unique and entertaining gameplay, a big variety of choices that lets the player impact the game's ending, though it does lack some impact in its delivery of the story. + Entertaining gameplay + Good art, music and character designs + A huge variety of choices that let's the player choose how the game is played - Slightly underwhelming main story - The main characters are a little bland and some more time should have been put into them - The stat system is a little imbalanced

  8. the cool thing about it is it is 5k big. So zooming in will not pixelate. Also the forest is a different layer so we will be able to make hidden sights underneath and then simply change the opacity to see the hidden areas.

  11. Pretty much. First half of season 1 of SAO is one of my favorites, for pretty much exactly the reasons you listed: Asuna, great episodic characters, a feeling of real progression (especially romantically), and a feeling that everything matters. That said, if you can bring yourself to do it, seriously, stop watching after the Aincrad arc ends. I'm sure you'll never thank me for it, but on the other hand if you do keep watching, I can pretty much guarantee that one day you'll come back and say you should have listened to me. It basically ruins everything that was great about SAO previously... but it's insidious, so you might not notice at first.

  16. K so this week I finished Shinmaou Testament no Burst. It was.... Not even my high affinity for ecchi.harems could allow me to enjoy master-servant pact mechanics. Just so cringeworthy. ~~ Now we move onto Sword Art Online. Which I'm enjoying to the max so far, though I'm nearing the supposed Episode 14+ decline of doom (currently on 12) What makes SAO so wonderful for me is that 1) Hey look, I'm not watching a highschool-setting focused anime for once! That is all. Every episode has been meaningful. That's how episodes should be done. Not like Pokemon where Ash n' friends meet some random stranger, talk acquaintance-style for 20 minutes long boring minutes, then have Team Rocket blast off again after failing to snag Pikachu, or the dreaded VN Shikkoku no Sharnoth where characters and situations are fking bland and repetitive as fk. No. In SAO when Kirito meets people, he actually bonds with them. Sachi. Silica. Liz. In 20 minutes, these episodes are all able to show how these strangers meet and how Kirito is such a stud. But then he'll get them all horrifically killed. Or break their heart. But at least he helps one of them revive their pet amirite. But yeah, they're all very touching episodes. (For the record, yes, I hate episodic-ness, so that's why I praise them highly whenever I enjoy them) Then we get to the real kicker: Asuna. Every now and then you find a character you just REALLY REALLY KLFSDJFADSKF REALLY LIKE, y'know? In the past 60 anime I've watched, that only applied to Angel Beats! Yurippe, Zero no Tsukaima's Louise, To Love-Ru's Nana, and Railgun's Mikoto. Rakudais' Stella came close, but in the end she was just another standard favorites. Asuna on the other hand, HNGGGGGGGGGG. What makes it even better was that I totally didn't expect her character to be a lead character given the episodic nature of previous females introduced. Hell, I didn't even expect this level of romance between Asuna and Kirito to happen! Why am I digging through all these High School Ecchi Harems with shoddy romance when I can just watch a Fantasy Adventure Game that has romance that puts others to shame. Episode 8 was pure, pure gold. It was one of those "protagonist realizes he might have a thing for the heroine" episodes, with Asuna cooking the S-class rabbit ingredient. Then the duo go through some very tense life or death moments via Ep. 9's Gleam Eyes boss battle and Ep 10's Kuradeel attempted assassination where they'll barely save one another and then hug ever so affectionately afterward. And then they actually fking marry and its just kyaaa!@#$%^% I'm just a total sap aren't I Anyways, wb Fuwanovel, been a good 2 day break.

  17. Confession: I had to do that last night, with a large group of basically strangers. My closest acquaintances were: one person who was a friend in high school who I've seen once since; one person I was kind of friends with in middle school and have seen once since; and one passing acquaintance from high school. Now, keep in mind I've been out of high school for well over a decade, so I have almost no connection to even those people. Also, literally all of them are seemingly either married or engaged, and I'm decidedly not, which always helps To my surprise, after the initial shock period I had a fantastic time, and got along especially well with that passing acquaintance from high school. It was a positive enough connection that I'd go so far as to say I met new friends! Got even more socializing to do today, with some good friends I see all the time, and one older set of friends I haven't seen in a long time. I'm looking forward to both of those as well! Turns out real life is often a lot more fun than 2D life. Who'd have thought.

  18. This is very true. I actually restarted my first game after 10 turns because I finally read about and understood libido - I easily beat the game in 46 turns that first time through. Second time through I was annoyed by lack of NG+ at first, but then I found I was again much better at the mechanics, and now I'm in a position to beat it in about 35 turns. Next game should be a little bit easier still simply because of the route I'm taking (Subaru true love) - correctly skilling out Narika to be a castle runner will take no effort since her starting SP is so high. The second game I was doing Narika's true love route, so I made Haruka my castle runner, which is a pain since she has such low starting SP. Incidentally, Narika is a beast in general. High starting SP and Reflex are a pretty sweet combo, and you can quickly turn her deficits (low starting attack and barrier - defense is for pansies anyway) into positives with the right training (the +lotsOfAttack skill and +statsForTraining skill). Haruka took a lot longer to make strong, mostly because of the initial low SP - it's generally just not that easy to increase max SP at the rate I want to, especially early in the game. It looks like I won't even be getting the third skill for Haruka on either this playthrough or the next.

  23. well, maybe we should have included a link to the HF-Thread then to make our intentions clear. My mistake for not really thinking about that and confirming that the sheet links back to the Topic. There we go: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/444734-CM3D2-Text-Translations I'd suppose one better contacts usagirei rather there than here but I actually do not know if fuwanovel allows and does by default send Email notification when PMs arrive and whether usagirei has this enabled. And again I'd like to mention that the sheet only shows about a third if not less of what needs to be translated for 100%. VIP Events are another batch and the training is only voiced and would require a sub-title plugin (luckily the written script is still in the files). Considering that not much Daily Dialogue has been added since release but so much VIP and Night Service/Training, my old figures may be quite off since I also had to leave the team due to inactivity (I really should also get back to updating the CM3D2 Mod List any time soon...) and as novice editor I was not good enough anyway.

  24. It's pretty simple if you do it the straightforward way of editing files. The downside of that of course is that if you want several different mods that edit the same file you're in a bit of a pickle. Dunno how much more difficult it is to make a proper mod that will just modify the part of the file it needs because I haven't tried it, but if you're just making something for yourself the former method should suffice. http://imgur.com/gallery/WCfeO http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/mod-list-modding-guides-and-general-modding-discussion.106868/ The first link is handy for unpacking the files, the second one has a bunch of guides for how to actually change stuff. The first guide (Modder's Guide by Alpha_Omegasis) is the only one I've looked at so far, and I didn't look at much besides the photo edit section but there is definitely a section for dialogue. I would imagine there's also a file containing characters' likes and dislikes. What I'd like to do next is replace the dog with a schipperke and the horse with a husky since I already named them Belka and Strelka respectively, but animated sprites of animals might be a bit outside of what I can manage to pull off. :/

All those "I like this girl" or "I need to hold a presentation in front of the class" or "There's a guy who wants to steal my lunch money", all of this shit just doesn't effect your life in any way, despite seemingly being the most important things at the time. 29. Summary The year is 1908. The 20th century is still young. An unfamiliar 20th century - in an unfamiliar world. This is a world that experienced a 19th century very different from our own. A world filled with innumerable steam-powered "Engines." The unnaturally rapid development of this steam civilization has left the world's skies shrouded in grey... and its seas dyed black. "Sea" - Once, the word suggested an expanse of blue. Today, it refers to something dark and putrid. The former harbor city of Marseille in the European Kingdom of France looks out on a sea as black as any other. But these particular waters are home to something that can't be found anywhere else on Earth... A massive artificial island, solid and imposing as a fortress. A city in its own right, but also a school; a place bursting with life and color. Its formal name: The Marseille Offshore Academia. In the spring of 1908... A single young man appears within its walls. After declaring his intent to wage war against its powerful Governing Council, he introduces himself in this way: "Nikola Tesla. 72 years old. I'm a transfer student." "Students of the Marseille Offshore Academia. My hundred thousand young friends, cursed by fate." "...I will save every last one of you with my own two hands." And at the summit of Château d'If, a bell rings out. The Bell of Gahkthun, announcing that the time of rejoicing is at hand... Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order In Gahkthun it's rather easy to get to the end without actually getting a bad end. There are however these "Exercises for Readers" that can get you a bad end and unlock extra side-stories usually with the minor characters, who don't get much screentime otherwise. Gahkthun is completely linear with only one Good End. Ending Guideline Chapter 1: "Enemy of the World" Chapter 2: "A Dog's Destiny" Chapter 3: "Fire-Forged Steel" Chapter 4: "The Message in the Melody" Chapter 5: "Ornamental Sunshine" Chapter 6: "Shining Clown" Chapter 7: "A Day of Mistakes" Chapter 9: "Beyond the Gate" Chapter 10: "The Sword of Love" Final Chapter Part 2: "And Until Your Final Day" Attribution This walkthrough was made by my own information playing through the game and experimenting myself

Nice sprite-work indeed It does show some promise The premise seems interesting, I'd say The BGM sounds rather good, I especially love the Main Menu theme The character designs look rather dullish, but I think it fits the mood of the game, as I have previously stated I don't have much time on my hands, but I can help this project with some proofreading and by giving critical opinions to ultimately releasing a better product in the end Keep up the good work
