I'm not really sure why it's been happening those last few days, I can tell you that there is some protection active on the forum because I use a VPN and have to solve a god damn captcha every day. Anyway usually there's always a mod on but all it takes is me going to the dentist for half an hour for a spammer to pop up of course ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's not a major difficulty to get rid of the spam and it rarely stays more than an hour or two so it's not that big of an issue.5 points

TB certainly wouldn't have been better with the padding cut. Maybe with it moved around a little? The fast pacing of the second half of each route actually got pretty exhausting. It was fight after fight after fight with barely any time to breathe in between. Besides, those "goofy interludes" were genuinely hilarious, I'd be sad to see them go.4 points -

It's always when we're sleeping. Granted I‘m usually awake at this time but it's Saturday so. Also usually before we could just mark someone as a spammer and it would automatically delete all their content and ban them permanently. Now that doesn't happen anymore which is a pain when a bot makes tons of threads. And yeah the bot protection is kinda wonky lately it seems. But how can you pass up those sweet free viagra deals?2 points

Canicheslayer and one other reacted to littleshogun for a topic
Another bump here, and this time @DavidB tweet was kind of interest me. Here's the tweet, although I may post it late 4 days though. Based on gamefaqs board reaction to the tweet, maybe release time of Root Double is almost coming judging from the tweet. Let's just hope it's the truth. PS - May I ask what is review key by the way ?2 points -

Shoujo City 3D (alpha release)
Noir reacted to Laika Karou for a topic
Shoujo City is a dating simulator game for Android, developed by me. It's not a pure VN, but rather a mix of RPG+VN. You have ten days to try and win love of a girl by giving her gifts, playing games, or going to regular dates. While talking to a girl, each dialogue choice affects your intimacy score. Each girl has a different personality and requires a different approach. Gameplay video: Even though the game is released already, it's still updated with new features and locations on a regular basis, so if you have some suggestions on improving the game, feel free to post. ) Shoujo city: iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/shoujo-city-anime-game/id1128360282 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.laikastudio.shoujocity Shoujo City 3D: http://shoujocity.com1 point -

Tokyo Babel Translation Discussion
Funyarinpa reacted to Darklord Rooke for a topic
It's not a very solid argument. Basically it boils down to you not liking localisations. 1) Your point about lines being completely different doesn’t mean anything by itself. Because of the differences between the two languages, and the differences in implications and use of context between the two languages, to create a flowing translation liberties will usually have to be taken. You will have to ask Conjueror why he chose to be more specific there, but off the top of my head it could very well be due more to the direct nature of English vs Japanese. I will say that Conjueror is VERY fluent in the Japanese language, as in you'll probably won't find many people in this community who understand Japanese better than he. So the idea that he makes a lot of mistakes isn’t likely. What’s more likely is you don’t approve of his localisation philosophy, and he does lean to the localisation side of things. 2) I'm gonna be mean here, sorry, but your English does suck ... just a little. VNs and LNs typically use shitty language in English, especially if they are fan-translated. I’m not being mean, but think school level English, if that. Sometimes worse. Little character in the voices, generic basic words. Sorry to be mean here, but you aren’t really fluent in English which is probably why you have problems. I see the same sort of stuff raised every time someone uses language that’s a little bit difficult, it has little to do with the 'difficulty' of the language used. I'll further add the point that Conjueror (and Gare) are old fogies, and they love to read a lot of old English literature and writing. The writing in these books are usually FAR more difficult than the language you encounter in VNs. There's also a lot of Biblical references, and other stuff. Whether something is 'easy to understand' is relative. I can tell your English is not good, so something that's 'hard' for you, will be 'easy' for a native English speaker. I'd rather translators not use language usually found in fan translated LNs, though. Because they flat out suck. 3) Literal translations are rare for stories designed to entertain, because the purpose of a ‘story’ isn’t to help someone ‘understand a language’, but rather to entertain the reader. When you combine a ‘literal’ translation with the sort of basic, generic language fan-translations often use, you get something which is borderline ‘Globish’, not ‘English.’ The idea that you want a piece of entertainment translated in a way which prioritises ‘learning’ is farcical. No, there’s no rationalisation for this, your philosophy is wrong. *Sigh* @Conjueror your presence is required.1 point -
Tokyo Babel Released!
Darklord Rooke reacted to Decay for a topic
"Americanization," really? The characters spoke in a very casual manner, but none of it felt distinctly American to me. Most of it was what you'd expect to hear in any English speaking country. So it wasn't so much "Americanization," but "Englishization." Which is a pretty good thing to do in my book when translating something to English.1 point -
Tokyo Babel Translation Discussion
VirginSmasher reacted to sanahtlig for a topic
To take this in a less divisive direction... If a project has to translate from an intermediary language (English) rather than the source (Japanese), what type of intermediary translation would serve as the best foundation? A (likely stilted) literal translation, or a well-flowing rewrite that takes many liberties to convey a similar effect?1 point -

Is there translated version of Little Busters EX somewhere?
Darklord Rooke reacted to Nosebleed for a topic
There is no full English patch for the EX or ME version of the game. The game was licensed and the Perfect Edition will be released officially in English sometime in the future. And yes, the Perfect edition includes the ME content (it doesn't have the 18+ content though, but it's not like it matters because the h-scenes are atrocious).1 point -

What Anime are you watching now?
Darklord Rooke reacted to ittaku for a topic
Finished bodacious space pirates. It was okay. The last 4 of the 26 episodes were finally a little engaging and there were some mildly amusing character moments but not enough. The story really never broke out of its shell being largely pointless and the drama was always fixed with incredible ease and infinite coincidences making it not much more than a kid's show. The animation was very pretty and the ED has great music at least. Next up AmagamiSS. I've finished the first arc and so far so good.1 point -

I disliked the americanization of the dialogue, but still personally enjoyed the various banters. It's subjective taste as opposed to an objective issue. You dropped a real gem - and wasted your money by doing so, assuming you paid for it.1 point -

Well well well, I think I've gathered enough "disagreeing" comments to start a fun thread celebrating the diversity of opinions, and politeness of Key fans. So lets have a little fun shall we? I'll leave images in spoilers. I call this first one the good 'ol "LALALALA MY HANDS ARE IN MY EARS I CANT HEAR YOU!" This just in! Mr.Wilder discovers what everyone already knew, I have no credibility. In other news, water is wet. Contrary to popular belief, Fuwanovel did not die on November 25th, 2015. One more for now. Its one of my personal favorites. There we go, just a sampling of some of the fun, constructive, salty ass comments in my reviews. I have plenty more saved up, so stay tuned!1 point -

Stay strong my friend, you will need all the will power you can muster. Charlotte's premise wasn't too bad, I thought it'd be more slice of life oriented, but then shit happens... Things only go bad after episode 6 so you still have 2 episodes to quit. I watched the show twice, one by myself and one with a friend, and both times it just couldn't redeem itself.1 point -
Here we have a little preview of one of the visual novel core elements; the background art! An alley in Tuamera City. The team has been looking for something that could match the sprites in terms of quality and style. We're glad to say that we've found it.1 point

Fuwanovel Confessions
Fred the Barber reacted to AaronIsCrunchy for a topic
I find it almost the opposite. The fact we form such a tiny, tiny part and yet know about such vast, vast things is truly incredible to me. And let's face it, we have trouble sometimes comprehending the difference between one side of this planet to the other, so what difference does 1027m actually make, eh? Confession: Sleep didn't happen last night. I tried going to sleep at 12, and it didn't happen. I read with low light, did some push-ups, drank some lavender tea and ignited a lavender incense stick, and still nothing. It's now 7 a.m., so I've basically given up and am now focusing on slogging this day out. At least I don't have to be productive today! \ /1 point -

As others have stated, the significance of the announcement is that the game may now achieve commercial success, and that the Steam version will be completely uncensored. After looking at the Getchu image samples, I'm actually pretty shocked. Not to mention the game was rated M by the ESRB.1 point

Unfortunately, it's too pricey and not well known enough to do well on Steam, imo. Would love to be proven wrong, though. EDIT: Keeping in mind that 'doing well' is relative (I suppose,) and that MG may be happy with relatively low sale figures. Who knows *shrugs*1 point -
