  1. I came down with a pretty bad fever after mothers day, and feel so incredibly weak and meh right now that I want to die. And to top it all off, insomnia strikes again. Doesn't matter what it is, if you think it could cheer someone up, feel free to post it

  2. Hollow Ataraxia happens after Fate... But that one is a fandisc and story-wise it doesn't have a lot to offer. It will give you more of the FSN characters, though. Fate/Extra and Fate/Extra CCC are PSP games and don't really have anything to do with the main universe of the series, other than having a few cameos... CCC is like the best thing ever if you're a Sakura fan, though. Fate/Zero is a prequel-sequel anime, dealing with the story of Emiya Kiritsugu and the previous holy grail war. The Fate series is generally linked to Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai, and people slap them together as the "Nasuverse" - Tsukihime is more dated than Fate and the stories going on are unrelated, but they're of the same type and have the same atmosphere (I'm yet to meet someone who likes one and doesn't like the other, lol.) After you read Tsukihime you can also watch the Carnival Phantasm anime, which is a crossover between Fate and Tsukihime and quite possibly the most rolf thing I've ever watched. Kara no Kyoukai is a great series of anime movies, too. While you'll see very few relations between characters in those series, they all share the same lore, so to speak. If you don't mind older art, I'd definitely start with Tsukihime (the VN. The tsukihime anime is probably one of the worst abominations I've seen, and the fandom has a running gag that "there is no tsukihime anime" because of how bad that was), though the Fate/Zero anime is also a great place to go.

  3. Hello, Here, the true story: >https://twitter.com/sayori_nw/status/724052293230813185 -tweet deleted- Huh? I didn't hear anything about an uncensored English version being distributed... I drew this believing it would be censored, do all of Wanimagazine's authors know about this? >https://twitter.com/sayori_nw/status/724053401244327937 -tweet deleted- Am I wrong for thinking that I still have the rights to my manga because I was only paid for a magazine publication >https://twitter.com/sayori_nw/status/724054742809206785 I didn't hear about it even once, and the only money I received was the magazine publication fee. And then: >消してもらったのは事実ですが、無修正は原因ではありません、FAKKU側の勘違いですね。 >It's true that I asked for it to be removed, but the uncensoring wasn't the cause/reason. FAKKU is misunderstanding it.

    Book of Zhu: Legacy

Book of Zhu: Legacy is a visual novel starring Aya, princess, martial artist, and future empress of the Zhu empire, who will find herself faced with the reality of what the future holds for her. The world depicted in-game is inspired by Wuxia films, as well as anime such as Fist of the North Star, Kenichi, and Katanagatari, and is being painstakingly brought to life by my team and I for this Visual Novel and beyond. Over the course of the game you will experience firsthand the upper class of society within the country of Zhu, glimpses of the larger world, and of course many martial arts battles. The game will follow a central storyline focusing on Aya and how her life starts to change over the course of about a year, with differing choices available that change the details presented during the story and what aspects of the world come into focus. In addition to the central storyline there are several side paths focusing on specific characters that are mostly determined by who you spend the most time with and whose story you progress the most during the early parts of the game, though some alternate versions of paths are triggered by hidden flags and events. Some of these will be romantic in focus, but others will allow you to see different sides of various characters, experience different aspects of the world, as well as different fight sequences. The game will also be free. Aya: The protagonist, heiress to both the Imperial Throne and her family's martial arts style. She is a girl eager to prove herself as both a future leader and a fighter to her mother, the Empress. Rin: Aya's cousin and a fellow princess. She is renowned for both her beauty and talent in the magical arts. She doesn't take her position seriously and prefers to indulge in pleasure instead of studying or training. Rani: Aya's loyal bodyguard and best friend. Despite living in the palace she has a reputation as a thug and spends a lot of her free time dealing with low-lifes and delinquents. Dokura : Rani’s mother, loyal retainer for the Imperial family, and one of the Empire's most respected warriors. She is seen by Aya as an aunt of sorts, someone always looking out for her that she can turn to. The Empress: Aya's mother and the absolute ruler of their people. She is loved as a living representation of Zhu tradition and feared for the swift and harsh retribution that tradition demands. For better or worse every action she makes is part of a legacy she will leave behind for Aya someday. There are many more characters than just those, so expect more soon. Lekkuen (me): Head Designer/Head Writer - The creator of the setting and main creative voice behind the project. Mahenbu: Lead Artist - An artist who has worked on several games and other projects. He draws the character sprites and the fight sequence, and dictates the overall art style. http://mahenbu.deviantart.com/ Kopianget: Artist - An artist for several games (most notably Huniepop), he mostly does the full screen CGs but also helps with character design. http://kopianget.deviantart.com/ Missing: Artist - An artist who has been a part of several visual novels, he is drawing all of the backgrounds present within the game as well as helping with overall world design. http://lordless.deviantart.com/ Startwo: A pair of artists who have been essential toward bringing the overall look of the setting together. They put in a lot of work towards helping to design the outfits and general look/feel of the setting. While only a select few things will be drawn by them, a lot of their work will be in the art book and related projects. http://www.startwo.net/ For more info and stuff, visit the Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1070798205/book-of-zhu-legacy

  8. Released: can be found here https://store.steampowered.com/app/686760/Carpe_Diem_Reboot/ Hello everyone, Firstly, I want to say that I'm fairly new here so if there is anything I need to add, change or remove in this post, kindly let me know. Thank you for your consideration in advance! Backstory Last year, I attempted to make a short visual novel titled 'Carpe Diem' which I released on Steam for free. It was a small solo project I did for fun. It was more of a 'i-made-something' project that time and I really wasn't expecting much, but it surprisingly did pretty well. Until now, it sits at 91% positive feedbacks out of about 4k reviews, which for me is a pretty big deal. Over the past few months, I've gotten a lot of requests to make more of it. Inspired by these, I decided to give VN development another shot, thus the project I am currently working on which is the sequel. The following contents can be found on the Kickstarter page as well, but I'll try to expand a bit. Team Most of the negative reviews of Carpe Diem were about its assets (art, music, etc), which I admit are subpar since I'm not very good at making those. I want to overcome these shortcomings for the sequel, so I made a team and looked for people who can help me make a better product than the previous one. So far, I've found great people for my team: Editor: DJ Horn [he posts reviews on a certain blog site, and so far he's been a great help refining and polishing my narrations and dialogues] Programmer: Bonesy [he is a game developer himself but he's very proficient in Ren'Py] Sprite Artist: Sabie [DeviantArt] CG Artist: Thai Chau [DeviantArt] Backgroun Artist: Alexis [DeviantArt] Music Composer: Jonathan [he did soundtracks for indie games before but this is his first time composing for a VN] These are the positions essential for the current project. However, I'm also looking around for a web designer/developer who is interested to join the team (in case anyone here is interested). http://eyzi.xyz/images/moonlitstudios.png Information The sequel will still be coded with Ren'Py. I plan the story to be about 50k words long (around 3-5 hours gameplay) but seeing how I already have 8k words written down just for the introduction part, this number may increase. I'm also thinking of putting some mini-games relevant to the game but this will be discussed later on with the programmer once and if the kickstarter campaign turns out to be successful. The genre is Romance Drama, although there will be a lot of Comedy and Slice-of-Life elements throughout the story. Synopsis [Carpe Diem] What makes someone perfect? Experience this short bittersweet story in the shoes of the main character, Jung, where you will spend your time hanging out with a girl named Ai. Ai is everything Jung wishes for in a woman... except for one very important thing. A thing he prefers to disregard in order for them to have the best time of their lives. You have a day to enjoy your date and see the world from Jung's point-of-view. [Carpe Diem: Reboot] Jung's last date with Ai ended with a hard slap back to reality. Each day the two spend together is just one step closer to their inevitable fate. Ai doesn't have much time left. Even knowing this, Jung refuses to let her go and decides to stay by her side until the very end...Or at least that's what he planned. After receiving an unexpected letter from Ai about having to leave sooner than expected, Jung's life is turned upside down. Now, Jung must face a long road of loss and self-discovery as he attempts to reclaim the few pieces left of himself. [A special additional description about the story just for you, lovely people of FuwaNovel] The following is a major spoiler unless you've already seen the prequel. Characters **For voice samples of these characters, you can check it out on the Kickstarter page. Assets The following are asset samples that some team members provided: [Music] Check out the first music sample. The 'mystery theme' for the story. [Others] I also made a short pre-production trailer with the resources I have currently Unfortunately, these are the only samples I can ask from the team members right now but I assure you that, once funded, you will not be disappointed with the quality of the product. Links I would really appreciate your support to make this project come to life! Kickstarter Page Steam Greenlight If you have questions, comments, suggestions, objections, or violent reactions, I'd love to hear or answer them in this thread or via PM. Thank you and have a great day!

  9. Hello again, Fuwanovel forums! So I recently finished the Clannad VN + anime 100% (thanks to the useful guide on these forums!) and one thing that reaaaaaaaally irritated me was the artwork at the end of the Kyou arc. Her nose looked like she had some sort of scab or something weird like that on it. So I loaded it up in Photoshop and gave her the old-fashioned rhinoplasty. Figured someone somewhere could use it to make a wallpaper or something. Here's a download link; it's in PSD format so you can modify it easier.

  11. I'm really sorry for being late, you have to realize that i'm not that free actually, i have my examinations that are near the gate, and they are extremely important for me, so...sorry. Oh, btw, you'll have more time to accomplish the game, also, i'll close the poll earlier, so no worries, at the end, you won't have to hurry yourself.
    1 point
  12. Well I'm quite interested in playing Rance so I'll vote for that. These polls are coming in quite late in the month. 11 days have already passed, and these VNs take up a lot of time, especially for people with full time jobs / school etc. Might be good to make them a little earlier or something. For scrubs like me, it will be hard to complete either of these titles in such little time alongside school.

  17. Hey, welcome to the forum, nice to meet you I checked out the demo, and it was interesting, though a little short. There wasn't a lot of time to get into the story, but the little I saw was good. There was a few small typos and it ends rather abruptly, but yeah, it was interesting. I'll leave some more feedback in the actual thread you made. Best of luck on the project, and again, welcome.

  22. Lord, I shall repent for my sins of stalling Tokyo Babel by un-stalling it...in the near future. ~~ I previewed Norn9 Var Commons. Coming in hot with the Otome hype train, let's just say that the first impressions of this VN storywise are not good. The art and music on the other hand are good. Art definitely isn't Code:Realize tier, but it's charming enough. The music is Fantasy-Surreal sounding, which I have a bias for, so it beats Code Realize in this department The Prologue is some 30 minutes snorefest of a 12 year old boy named Sorata, a realist type of kid who swears by science-explains-all logic narrating his average school life He then mysteriously gets thrown into the past a century into Taisho Era (year 191X) after hearing some gal singing in his head. Then he meets a pink haired 17 year old girl who doesn't know her own name and is the caring-but-lacking-common sense type -> she's one of the three protagonists They board some alien ship thing and then you get slapped with introducing the nine heroes, and the other two female protagonists. TOO MANY NAMES, I CANT HANDLE They're all Espers, y'know, magic power people, and they're a part of The World - a world-police type organization. And the pink haired girl is the new recruit, and Sorata just happened along for the ride. Being the realist that he is, he quietly laments to himself that he can't wait to wake up and resume his normal life. Of course, that ain't happening -Prologue End- ~~ It's only 30 minutes, but it was a poor 30 minutes because of the decision to have Sorata (he's ultimately a side character) narrate it and the sudden transition from Hi I have normal life to OMG ESPERS, TIME TRAVEL AND FLYING SAUCERS along with introducing the entire 12-man cast right off the bat. But hey, at least it's not as bad in comparison to KnS2's 5 hour grind you had to do before the real story started WHY COULDN'T I JUST START WITH THIS INSTEAD OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH THAT BS 12-YEAR-OLD-KID-BEING-THROWN-INTO-WONDERLAND SETUP

    What do next??

@Eclipsed First impressions would be much obliged. I thought watching the anime would help me decide on whether to jump in or not, but it just made my indecision worse. What can I say, Code;realize is the most solid otome I've played so far.(Cardia was a step above the average self-insert protagonists normally found in otome.) I'm happy you liked it too!

  27. 1) He won't look at me. Or look me in the eye, or face or whatever. He refuse to look at me. All depends on the context how strong you want to make it. 2) "Of course he/she/it/you/me is crazy!" Can't tell you want whoever means by that without context.

  39. Mosaic censorship is an ingrained part of Japanese culture. This shouldn't be confused with other types of censorship that are often applied specifically for Western release (to address real and imagined cultural differences, dangers, and audience expectations).
    1 point
  40. Mmm... probably because mosaic-censoring has become a part of otaku H-artist culture. For better or worse, the Japanese are fundamentally 'conservative', in the sense that they hate changes in the status quo. In her mind, the 'censored' form is the form it is meant to be in, most likely. Edit: I hate to say it, but I actually understand the mentality that would drive that kind of thinking. Basically the thought would be 'this is the line I don't step over, and if I do, I am a true degenerate', and by Japanese industry standards, it would be unethical for an artist to produce uncensored hentai art.
