  2. So like the titles says, when is the best time of the year to travel there and where ? I really dislike cold weather so preferably not in winter. I do not care about special events, cultural things or festivals, I repeat I don't give a crap about those things and wont be seeing them, I'm really not interested in visiting japan and visit a zoo for example (that island with rabbits, usagi-shima I think it is??), museums or any of that crap, however I do care and want to see: Electronics in general. Anything about food. Books and anything related to that. Travel in their trains or public system and get to know as many places/prefectures as possible, for example travel for around 3 hours wont be a problem in fact I like that, for example if I go to tokyo I can travel without problem to saitama, kanagawa, chiba etc (i'm just saying random places that are close to tokyo I don't really know if it's possible to travel there or not or if going to tokyo is the best option.) Maybe and just maybe visit a shintou... Any weird thing about japan. I know what I'm saying is a bit vague but you get the idea, I'm also looking for the cheapest place to stay, for example maybe kyoto is cheaper than tokyo?

Just finished Mahoutsukai no Yoru. As someone who prefers Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai over Fate when it comes to Nasu's portfolio, I've enjoyed the read a lot. Most of the VN deals with slice of life, exploring the rather unusual and entertaining set of main characters. This is very much Nasu, so the interactions are pretty vague for the most part, and none of the characters (and their motivations) are really that straightforward; some might find this confusing and annoying, but I think it has its own charm to it. The lore and magic related stuff is the same way - but you won't even have any time to be dismayed with the lack of clarity when the battle scenes happen. There are very few of them in the entire VN, but when they actually happen.... damn, are they something. I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that these fight scenes were the coolest damn thing I've ever seen. The presentation is absolutely ridiculous; it really puts the "visual" into visual novel, to such a point that Mahoyo doesn't even need an anime adaptation anymore. I was sitting at the edge of my seat from the sheer hype alone, and that is something that doesn't happen that often - let alone in every single battle. The OST is also one of the best ones out there.... that is, the songs composed by Fukasawa, the guy who amongst other things made the OST for the recent UBW adaptation by ufotable. Unfortunately, the rest of the composers working on the OST.... don't sound that good, and they sound about ten times worse put next to Fukasawa's work. Overall, I'd give it a 9.5/10. It's a must read for any chuuni fan - unless you have a crippling hate for slice of life.

  11. So a few days ago, as I was scouring the interwebz, I came across this interesting looking VN called Tenkiami. The description on vndb is a bit lacking so I don't know what the story is about, but the two heroines (only two) are miko kitsunes, one pettanko and one kyonyuu. Here's the link: https://vndb.org/v17337 I'm a fan of kitsunes and noticed a lack of VN's with kitsunes as the main heroines, translated ones anyway. I mainly wanted to put this out there in case there were any miko kitsune fans who wanted to try their hand at translating this. I don't know how to check the spript size so I can't say how long it is, if anyones interested then maybe someone can start a project for this? I don't have the time to help since I'm working and training for the military (all I'd be able to do is proofread or edit anyway) but if this gets translated I'd be very happy~

  12. Hello! I just made an account, so I figured I should try to introduce myself! I'm normally quite bad with introductions, so I'm sorry if this is bad. XD I am Kimi, but I tend to go by Kairi on forums like this. I recently finished university and got a degree in French. I am hoping to become a translator or an editor in the future. I have quite a few hobbies, but gaming is definitely the biggest! I have many different consoles and one gigantic backlog. I mostly play on either the Xbox 360 or the PS Vita, but I like playing on other devices too like the DS, PSP, and PS2. My favourite genres are action, adventure, fighting, hack and slash, platformers, and RPGs. I also really like reading books and comics too. I have been interested in visual novels for quite a while, but I haven't played many since I used to be extremely busy with time-consuming things like my thesis translation project for my degree. Now that I am done with school and have much more free time, I would like to start reading more of them! I am glad to be here and hope to become involved with the community!

  13. With the release of Koiken Otome I have been looking at the link under the Fuwa blog for buying it. Up until now I have been sticking to VNs released officially in English or resorting to other means to acquire them but I would like to support the developers so I'm looking at buying them from Japan. indo not want to deal with importing and having a bunch of physical copies. So I only really want to get download versions. My question is how easy is this? Does it depend on the game? The site for Koiken Otome seemed to be Western friendly and mostly in English so that was a good sign but I wasn't sure how the conversion of yen to dollars would work. Do most banks do this automatically or would I have to get a prepaid card with yen or something like that? Any advice or experiences you have had buying digital from Japan would be appreciated.

:<<<< I'm not elitist. I'm just a moe-hater. Also - you here provided a great example of why moe is bad. Here on left we have a grown up woman, on right, we have a child. Also just look at how less detailed is new one. No ornaments on her clothes, blurred background, no earings, nothing original, just generic moe face. But I woudn't be hating on new art, which is not 'that bad' if I woudn't fell in love in probably first sprite in this game. She: is just beautiful. ;_; At least we can agree about what you just said here. It really was entertaining on many levels (fights the least, but still fun part) and overally a nice, short, but great experience. I did some CG comparissions here: New one lacks that 'heavy and sharp' lights, that made like 15% of atmosphere in here for me.

  18. I actually liked this track a lot the first time I heard it, it's one of the better comedy scene tracks IMO. But I'm pretty sick of it by now just because it always plays when that pink blob of annoyingness appears. Chinami is why we can't have nice things. As for the worst one I've ever heard, it would have to be the H-scene music from Sharin no Kuni. God I'm sick of it.

  24. ROTK 10 is a pretty fascinating take on strategy. It's like a Japanese developed Crusader Kings set in China. If that sounds appealing to you, check it out some time. Too bad the PC version was never translated, but it emulates decently on PCSX2. It's definitely a game that's kinda there more for the feel and experience than as an actual compelling strategy game. The battle system is an easily exploitable joke and the historical simulation breaks down pretty often. Apparently both of these things were resolved in the PC version. RIP us english speaking weirdos, I guess. Still, I played the hell out of that game. I found it oddly fun to raise my character through the ranks, fulfill the orders my liege gave me and eventually make enough of a name for myself to gain higher positions until I could make my own bid for power, it's that kind of game. Just expect a lot of tedium to go along with it.

  25. Well traveling is one of the things I love to do (specially on train and see different cities and places!) and knowing different places is one of the things I want to do on this trip, so if I "waste" a whole day doing that it's not a problem We have really really different taste, I would never do something like enter a webpage, arrange to meet people in another country and then hang out together with them, sorry but that's not something I like to do, not in my country and specially not in Japan I forgot about that guidebook from Ren, it will come handy I think, I will google more of those kind of stuff from different cities, maybe I can find interesting things.

  27. I'm in Tokyo this week for holidays and regarding some of your questions such as electronics, food and trains; They said that Akihabara had alot of electronics, personally it was meh and just standard stuff you find everywhere. There's alot of nice otaku stuff though. There's a nice VR demo by Bandai in Odaiba, you should give it a go, unfortunately I didn't get to try it out because you had to book reservations in advance! http://project-ican.com/ Foodwise try eating barbecue beef (yakiniku) and sushi. Public transport is very accessible but it's pretty complicated so it might take some time to get used to it.

Finished Cyber Slayer It's a great short VN Battle scenes were aight, the first two baddies were typical fodder, but it gets a bit more thrilling and high-stakes for the last of them, naturally. I really enjoyed the moral implications of what really makes someone "human" in this world full of cybernetic enhancements and how it was applied to Taolou and his beloved Riuli. The best parts of the VN for me as a character-centric pleb were the downtime in between fights. That's when you really get to feel for Taolou as he realizes his time is limited and his body starts to fail from all of the fighting, but he continues pushing himself regardless in a typical "I can only die once I fulfill my goal" fashion, only keeping himself sane and finding solace in watching his cute lil' gynoid develop. 8/10, read it!

  42. Yeah and my comment on how Lucretia looked also disappeared with the rollback . Anyways I had said that she looked like the kind of mischievous, wise big sister and that I looked forward to seeing how she was tied to Kijo's story and personality disorder. I can only make speculations but either she might be partially the cause of it or maybe she keeps her in check and helps her out with the issue as kind of a guardian or friend that looks over her, quite eager to see where this goes. Great job Ps: Kijo's promo looks really cute.

  43. holy mother of fucking shit this is wonderful finally some organic shitposting I've been participating on this forum for three years. I've seen people get off from fictional rape. I've seen people defend sexual harassment. I've seen people call for humanity's transcendence via anime. I've seen people call refugees "sand niggers". I've seen Euphoria, Dustmania and Maggot Baits get hyped on these forums. And, my friend, this post of yours is nevertheless easily the most disgusting thing I have ever laid eyes upon in this forum. edit: GET FUCKING SHREKT @Katatsumuri
