Lol. Pretty much irrelevant on its scope. It's like you can't. Not really, as you can see, at least not from the get go and not as widespread as pc it always makes. What's done is done, of course, and there's not much point to starting another holy war, but I really see no reason to be happy about it in the big scheme of things even for the most cynical of pirates: pc gets even worse rep, great guys at PQube get less money, 5pb's less popular games like Anonymous;Code become even less likely to be localized. Hopefully enough people already bought it for ps4 and vita either way.2 points -

Because it will inevitably lead to the logical loss of the initial sales. Spacing out releases is pretty much the common sense plus they probably didn't want to lose console sales from all the PC piracy. A completely justified concern, as you've just proven, and don't give me that silliness about some kind of "revenge", most would pirate day 1 either way. Now they at least had a good starting position for several weeks and the patch also isn't that widespread yet. Their only mistake was releasing Japanese pc version too early.2 points -

This thread almost gave me cancer, gosh. It's pretty obvious that they gave to go through quite a few organizational issues before releasing it on steam by themselves and they have only just released the first game there. Noone would want to get the sequel out of the gate that fast. But I would laugh if after seeing this they made PC an extremely low priority. Also the link is still there, I'd vote for banning people for the straight pirate links.2 points -

Looking for VNs with romance
ヤミハナ reacted to Limerence_ for a topic
The title may be a little ambiguous, considering that most VNs have romantic elements. I guess I'm trying to find something similar to ef - a fairy tale of the two. Not similar in the way it splits its VN into many different stories, but rather similar in the sense of how they portray their romances in each 'story'. I'm hoping to find something that doesn't revolve around one lone guy surrounded by a ton of girls who fall in love with him for no apparent reason. I'm looking for perhaps something a little more serious and melodramatic, but if you've got any good recommendations for romance you can just post them and I would check it out. Thanks a bunch. Ah right they need to be translated to English too. Examples of romance VNs that didn't quite fit my taste: - Noble Works - Princess Evangile - Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort1 point -
This VN is Akabeisoft3's latest VN, adding yet another genre to that company's list. To be straight, this is a guro-rape dark fantasy similar to Maggot Baits in atmosphere (albeit not as extreme). The protagonist, Roy, starts out as a shota living happily with his family. However, one day bandits, led by a psychopath named Ix, attack the village, raping and murdering the women, including his mother and older sister. He himself is raped by the leader's wife as well as her shota slaves. Surprisingly, he doesn't break, and he swears revenge against the bandit group... and joins them. To be honest, I don't have much in the way of positive emotions about this game. It isn't my genre and it isn't to my tastes. While I gained something from Maggot Baits' 'good' ending, this VN didn't leave me feeling like there were any hidden gems in the torrent of darkness. Given a choice, I would never go back to this VN under any circumstances. In terms of quality, both visual and writing, it is impressive for such a short work (three hours of play), but, as I said, it didn't have anything I was seeking. However, for people who like this kind of thing, it will probably be pure crack...1 point

Slightly NSFW.... anyone who doesn't know how to use the "cross eyed" 3D thing here are instructions https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSVbRZkrBTiu_Y7PfrUbL7vLwB1e1kSEJfca5csL0B1UFsJQ5pz2Q That tells you mostly how to in an image... but if it doesn't work then it's simple :focus your left eye on the right image and focus your right eye on the left side and try and focus the image in the middle anyways get back to the NSFW1 point

Great to have someone that has similar tastes as me. The thing that comes to mind when I read the topic of this post is: White Album 2, both Introductory Chapter and Closing Chapter Amagami And the infamous School Days (though a lot of people didn't like it) Also, OreImo's game. (You may have to watch the anime first before playing this one)1 point -

You can't pirate it on vita. There's no way to bypass 3.61 fiirmware check protection. https://www.reddit.com/r/vitahacks/comments/50j7wb/read_this_if_youre_on_361/ https://github.com/henkaku/henkaku/issues/11 They shouldn't have released it TBW. I don't get Pqube and 5pb. They could at least announce the official English version for PC/Steam. But no, they prefer to lose the money for some reason. Well, I'm pretty sure that a lot of people (including me) WILL buy S;G 0 after its inevitable release on Steam. But a lot of people will NOT, because the "free version" has been released a long time ago, and they already finished it.1 point -

It's nice, not all the menus are translated it seems, but all the text & images / videos are. They left the PC crowd out in the cold, they released it on PS3 for fucks sake. Their excuse for not releasing a PC English version right now is "it would take so much work" But it's been less than two weeks and already one man has made an almost perfect English PC version. Drag & dropped some files, subbed some videos, just the options menu isn't fully translated. They had no excuse.1 point -

I have to agree with most of the thread: if you're not from Japan, you probably shouldn't be writing about Japanese people. If you're from Spain, write about Spanish people. Don't do it because that's what you think I want to see, or even because it would be a pleasant change of pace (even though it really, seriously would; Highway Blossoms, as many problems as I had with it, was a breath of fresh air for its setting and some of its themes); do it because you'll almost certainly do a much better job with it. Honestly, when I see a western VN with a cast full of Japanese names, my immediate reaction is: "weeb; probably not interesting". If the creator is so stuck in the world of JP VNs that they can't even get their head out of that country, there's very, very little chance they have anything substantial to add in other areas. If enough people say good things about such a project, I'd certainly take a closer look and reassess that position, but the first impression left by a project like that is never a positive one, to me, and I have yet to see a case where that first impression was wrong. Unrelated, but I clicked the screenshot link after @Darklord Rooke said something about "a nice sensible longsword" and thought to myself, "That's not a longsword, that's a claymore," and felt a lovely jolt of smugness when I scrolled down to find the OP correcting both him and Kurisu. Really no tools could do this one? Strange, it was a super simple one. https://www.mediafire.com/?7ch2yk23k0zm79y To use it, put it in the same folder as the .xp3s, hold shift and right-click in the folder and choose "Open command window here." Use "extract.exe -e data.xp3" to extract, and "extract.exe -c data" to compile back a folder. Replace the "data" part with whatever archive/folder you want to extract/compile. After extracting data.xp3 for the scenario files, put them all in a folder called sys_patch or sys_patch2 if you have the patch. Probably best to give the patch with your own so you know everyone has it. So you have all the files like sys_patch2\4月6日.ks, and then compile sys_patch2. The game will use that as the latest archive (as long as sys_patch.xp3 exists, if not, it'll ignore sys_patch2.xp3), and so you only need to give out the files you change. I haven't tested it on any of the lc2_ archives, cause I don't have them. They shouldn't be any different though (I hope).1 point

Free HQ orchestral hybrid music for you!
Limerence_ reacted to S. Drakensson for a topic
I started a production-music library wich is exclusively under the Creative-Commons license. You can use my music for free in any non-commercial project. I decided to release it for free since i don't want money for it and i know how hard it is to get free HQ orchestral music and that iconic trailer-sound. Other composers have agreed to join the library soon. The music was created using HQ packages from 99Sounds, Sonatina, and strings from Mick Gordon (Doom). The music has also been featured on one of the biggest Epic Music-channels that excist on Youtube wich you can check out as a preview. for the full current library click here. Steins;Gate 0 was really good! I was little hesitant at first how it would work since the original is so complete experience, but luckily I was proven wrong. Overall Steins;Gate Zero is just more of Steins;Gate, for better or worse. It's one cool extra loop before the true end of the original, offering new viewpoints to the original and fleshing out the world. There's plenty cool characters, old and new, the humor and great character interactions are still there and it's still as moving when it's time to be serious. If you ever found yourself wanting more of Steins;Gate then S;G0 is pretty much that. It does some things better than the original and loses in some, and while it builds itself on already completed work Zero also manages to be cool on it's own. Obviously there's spoilers about the original Steins;Gate, and while I tried to avoid spoilers about Zero in my impressions you might want to be careful if you want to experience Zero knowing as little as possible beforehand.1 point -

A'ight, here's my take on it. I'D PREFER IT IF YOU DROPPED THE JAPANESE THINGS Honestly, I think originality and cultural differences explored in VNs can only help to expand the medium. Why set something in Japan (or incorporate Japanese thingmies) when there's a wealth of things to be explored on your home turf? Basically, go for it1 point -

Hi Everyone! We are very sorry if the "Season pass" term usage is confusing! We just wanted to use a very familiar choice of words to show our intentions, to release free expansive DLC content. I would include these DLC's in our main story but due to development hic up's we are forced to add expansions on a later date. Now that i think about it our behavior can be easily misunderstood as an attempt to act cool like: "wow we are nobody but let's use Season pass so we can look like one of those big games out there!" It's just not like it, i can assure that. We decided to use it because it looked like a fast way to incorporate a list of DLCs and stuff. Thank you very much for your time!1 point
