Lucky for you, Steam has a ton of content that fits that bill. On a side note - gotta say having all these neutered eroges is getting kinda annoying. I mean, can't speak for anyone but myself, but I originally got into VNs for the porn - story-depth was discovered after the fact.2 points -

There are threads like the "post pics you like" thread that have so many embedded pictures that some don't come up at all, leaving only the filename there until I refresh 2 or 3 times to see the embedded pictures. It also takes a heck of a long time for the page to load despite 20mbit download speeds here. Maybe the option to decrease the number of posts shown per page would help, or (probably not easy to implement at the admin side) limit posts per page based on size of messages.1 point

I just finished 2048 and it has actually sapped me of much of my enthusiasm for it. The pacing was off, it just went on forever and felt like it would never end. The whole route should have been several hours shorter. It doesn't help that I never really found1 point -

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate it! I can tell that this is a very friendly community, the atmosphere is nothing less than cordial~ On a side note, I originally signed up for this forum to register as a fan translator, and I suddenly have ten messages asking for me to join their team! I feel bad for turning down people, but how should I decide? Nekos! Yaaay! I was hooked on them for quite a while have my playthrough on NekoPara! Go Go Nippon! was a very interesting Visual Novel that mixed character development with Japanese education, and it inspired me to become a FTL. Other than that, some big titles like Majikoi and Coμ impressed me. I'm looking forward to reading more in the future! Eden, huh? I've seen it in Steam before, and it had tons of positive feedback. Maybe when I obtain more money, I'll buy it and try it out!1 point

1) Handle (the one you use or plan to use): Toran 2) Positions you can fill: Translator (JP-EN), Proofreader/Quality Control, Translation Checker 3) Types of projects (VNs) preferred: Anything with lolis or twintails or both. Putting that aside, I'm down for almost anything, as the endless variety is one of my favorite characteristics of Visual Novels. 4) Availability (edit this one as you get involved in projects): Currently Unavailable 5) (VNs most interested in producing an ftl for: Perhaps Majikoi or Imopara 2. I'm willing to work on anything though. 6) Motivation for joining in on ftl: Born and raised in Japan, I'd love to put my knowledge on what I enjoy - Visual Novels. Playing games just doesn't seem right for me anymore, so I want to stretch out my wings and try something new. Then I stumbled around here and thought that this'll be a good, refreshing experience for me to expend my free time into. Plus, I can improve my Japanese in the process! 7) Conditions* (any additional conditions, under which you will or won't work): - Preferably no yaoi/NSFL-esque ones - Be patient with me please (This is my first time doing this sort of thing. Chances are, my work speed will wildly fluctuate but I'll definitely get my work done; in other words, don't pressure me) - I can't do any coding/programming/hacking/other hocus pocus of the sort - Willing to join any kind of team as long as they're as dedicated as I am and are civil. Besides that, I'd enjoy it if the members are friendly and welcoming so that I can easily blend in and get along with them. I'm a newcomer in this forum as well. Guide me, my seniors!1 point

After thinking on it for a few months, I think The House In Fata Morgana is my favorite VN of all time alongside Virtue's Last Reward. VLR on its own is impeccable, especially its story, themes and twists, but it's flawed (shitty art, a few kinda contrived points). The worst thing about it is that it left on a very intense cliffhanger and its sequel Zero Time Dilemma did not deliver on that cliffhanger at all. So I can't recommend/praise it in very high spirits now, knowing it'll be letting down anyone who reads it. The House In Fata Morgana, however, is an altogether different beast. All its components are far more consistent in quality (the overall quality being pretty much top-notch), with beautiful art and music, rock-solid pacing and characters, and a story that just doesn't let you go and you feel empty and fulfilled when it does. It's also wholly self-contained (though there IS a fandisk being translated right now at 38% progress IIRC), and so there isn't anything you need to read before or after it. Seriously can't praise this VN enough, but honestly the surprise I got when I went in with low expectations was part of the package (not that you'd be any worse off for it).1 point -

As part of my series of posts on AXL, today I finished replaying Like a Butler, one of AXL's earlier charage-type VNs. This VN is of a type that hadn't really been touched until AXL opened it up... the ojousama-ge. Just to give you a little history, until the release of Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no in 2006, there hadn't been any really good or famous ojousama-ge made. It was only after 2010 when the sub-genre exploded outward into the ridiculous numbers we've seen since (with Ensemble alone producing fifteen in the last eight years, if you include fandiscs). I'll be straight about it... ojousama-ge are the type of charage I'm most likely to like besides fantasy type charage. I have a definite positive bias toward this type of game, so if I don't like an ojousama-ge, it really is crap, lol. Anyway, Like a Butler starts with the usual ridiculous premise upon which about 80% of all of this type of VN are based off of... the protagonist transferring to an academy for rich people (usually for some kind of absurd reason). In this case, his osananajimi Kanade (who is a pure-hearted, dog-like, extremely friendly girl with an absolute trust in the protagonist that is a bit extreme) gets chosen as a scholarship student for an academy for the children of the ultra-rich (think hundreds of millions of dollars). Kanade begs Kazuki, the protagonist, to serve as her butler at the school, so she won't be alone amidst a bunch of unfamiliar people. He, being weak to her requests, eventually gives in. A lot of the earlier parts of the VN are as much about culture shock as anything else (it's mutual, needless to say). Kanade, being Kanade, manages to burrow her way into the hearts of her fellow students relatively easily, and Kazuki, as her butler, begins to accustom himself as well. Some notes about AXL's style with this type of game... unlike more modern ojousama-ge, which tend to avoid snobbish heroines and main characters, AXL doesn't hesitate including the characters' prejudices and cultural blind spots (again, it is mutual), so expect some friction between the characters as a result. This is especially so for Sarasa and the protagonist, as Sarasa is the epitome of the 'super-rich girl who believes in her own fundamental superiority' and Kazuki has a fundamental dislike for being looked down upon. One of the best parts about this VN, other than the usual AXL antics, excellent storytelling, and wonderful character development, is the way they did the heroine paths. Rather than being a straight road to a set ending, each of the heroines (save for Kiriko, the extra heroine) has a three endings... one good, one bad, and one extra good. The first good ending is an abbreviated version where the protagonist's final situation is something of a result of 'going with the flow' of the relationship. These endings resemble the standard charage ending, save for the fact that they have 'years later' epilogues. The second good ending is always the best... in both the path itself and the epilogue, you see the results of the protagonist seeking to better himself and his environment, as well as confronting the obstacles in his way to form a better and more permanent relationship with the heroines. To be blunt, I cried with joy at Sarasa's and Mizuho's second good endings, and with good reason. The trials and tribulations, as well as the wonderfully designed epilogues made it feel like the protagonist had actually grown far beyond his beginnings in each case... and the heroines were generally much happier. Overall, for those who like this type of charage, this is a must-play. The only downside from some people's point of view is that the visuals are typical AXL, meaning that they've looked pretty much the same for the past ten years, lol. (go to hell, art bigots)1 point

On a more serious note, social media has basically become a method for people to self-isolate from opposing opinions, which is one of the primary reasons I hate it in a more general sense... while I'm not fond of social and peer pressure, I did like it when I didn't have to worry about racist politicians obtaining political power on the federal level...1 point
