Thanks, and I hope yours was equally enjoyable! I haven't read the fandisk though may do so at some point in the future. Our main goal was 11eyes itself, especially after all the failures and poor attempts, it deserved better treatment than it had received. DSP#4 is being prepped of course, we'll be sure to make a blurb about it on our page once it's underway.3 points

MG's business policies aside, I'm just super excited for this and can't wait for January 20th to come. The first Da Capo was in my opinion the very definition of average, but 2 quickly became one of my favorites. And I've heard that this is even better so I can't help but be super hyped for a chance to finally get to play it.2 points -
table-layout css property
RedK reacted to AtomCrafty for a topic
Hey there, just a minor request: while writing a new version of out project introduction I noticed that the css property 'table-layout' is unavailable for forum posts. I am aware that html/css purification is a crucial step to prevent unwanted code injection but this particular property doesn't entail any security risks table-layout: fixed; causes equal row widths, with looks much nicer if you ask me: The forum also won't let me set the width of that table to calc(100% - 40px), is there any particular reason for that? As a temporary solution I will set a minimum cell width, but that will look weird on smaller screens like mobile devices ^^ - Atom1 point -

table-layout css property

Hello fellow Germin. One would be more natural, since the cell with the longest content gets the widest width, the other one (fixed width) is more pleasing to OCD eyes. I'm not really particular to either. So, everyone: Post your opinions why one should be used over the other, and we'll use whatever.1 point -

Fate/Grand Order

Here we go again. > After we battle Caster Solomon, he starts the whole "ya'll disappoint me, I'm so strong haha" talk > Still, he praises our efforts if anything, for we've put an admirable resistance > Master notices that one of Solomon's rings is different from the rest > Mashu recalls Holmes telling them there was something wrong with this Solomon > Solomon activates the ring of light in the sky and the dick pillars start going wild > He then reveals himself as a Solomon that is not Solomon. Much like Kingu, he is using the hardware but with a new software inside > "And thus I throw away the name King of Magic. I no longer need it." > He reveals himself as an amalgamation of all the 72 dick pillars > "Mankind's Incineration Principle Formula - Demon King, Goetia." > Scene ends and we have to get into a new one, which begins with Mashu noting that his Saint Graph ain't Solomon's, belonging indeed to Goetia > "One of Mankind's Seven Evils. Beast of Calamity, Beast I...!" > "Indeed. I... no, we (ruby text reads "I") are a life-form brought forth by mankind's very own hands." > Goetia then goes back to his drama queen state and complains about having seen both past and future, much like the King of Magic once did (clairvoyance is tied to the body) > "I've seen much sorrow and grief. Observed countless perfidies." > "I've watched innumerable pillages. I've seen an unending amount of endings." > Took some liberties to make these last two lines sound cool. Sue me. > He goes back to the complaining and says he got fed up with this shit. This mankind and its future no longer were things he cared about. > Instead, he concluded that he ought to create a perfect mankind. > For the very notion of a life having to end was "insane" in his eyes > He finally discloses his real plan: to travel back 4 billion years in the past, back to the birth of the celestial body called Earth and recreate our planet in his own image > "To rewrite Genesis, giving birth to a world devoided of the concept of 'death'. That is our grand plan." > He gathered the magical energy produced throughout mankind's history, from 1000 B.C to 2016, a quantity that surpassed even Earth's production > Mankind's Incineration came to be not due to his hatred, but due to his desire to see mankind prosper... in the way he deemed appropriate, of course > On a side note, this takes back to Babylon where it was stated that all Beasts are basically yanderes that love humanity way too much > "Behold the Throne (not the one of Heroes). The place where your lives shall come to an end." > For a guy that keeps going on and on about the ephemerity of the human life, he sure enjoys saying that we're going to die > Mashu stated that this NP's power is beyond anyone, but she then has an epiphany > "... So that's it. I was born for this very own moment, isn't that right, Doctor?" > Goetia goes back to the final boss talk, telling us we're about to die and all that fluff > The fight breaks out and as staged, ends on the third turn when he activates his NP > Mashu confirms there is no stopping him from using it, but Goetia suddenly says that he understands Mashu and that she too should be able to understand him > He invites her to the new world, as both are meaningless existances that can find their wishes fulfilled in his new world > Mashu concents for a second that a world with no death would also be a world with no sadness > But she tells him that she holds no desire for eternity, wishing only to see the current world > Even if her life is bound to end soon, even if her life is to expire in a moment, she wishes to be able to see the future of this world > Goetia says it is a pity and activates his NP, announcing the end of history and mankind's incineration > Mashu denies his victory claim and fires her NP; Ars Almadel Salomonis vs Lord Camelot > Now, get your ear/headphones on and listen to this OST while reading the following scene, otherwise you'll never get a 5* again > [Nothing on Earth can resist the heat of that Noble Phantasm] > [But that is limited to the physical aspect] > [Her Noble Phantasm is a conceptual defence] > [So long the user's heart doesn't falter, the castle walls too shall not crumble] > Too lazy to go line by line now. This is her final dialogue: > "Thank you so much for everything up until now. For having come till here... my life truly had a meaning... It was just as Captain Drake said. On my final moments, I understood my desire. But... it's a tad irritating. I could only protect you thus far. This is the last time I'll be able to fight by your side, Senpai." > Her body is unable to resist the heat coming from Goetia's NP and evaporates, leaving only her shield behind. As her heart didn't falter for a second, she was able to protect her master until the very end. Wheeew, what a long post. Should get it all done by tomorrow I believe. Anyway, it's late and my brain is bugging hard from the lack of sleep and having read too much JP today, time for a break.1 point -

What are you reading? Untranslated edition
Chronopolis reacted to Dergonu for a topic
I finished reading Ryakudatsusha no Inen, and have now moved over to the sequel, Ryuukishi Bloody†Saga. The first game was enjoyable, but certain parts bugged me a bit. Due to the dark nature of the content in the game and the high amount of H, it very obviously leaned towards being a nukige. But, the game is merely supposed to be a prelude to the second, and its purpose is to tell the dark backstory of Roy, not give people boners. Which means, it's kind of ... not supposed to be a nukige at all. It's supposed to be the dark backstory of the MC, and they did a good job of presenting it at such most of the time, but then ruined it by once again pulling the game towards being a nukige at random times. (By suddenly putting in random, totally unimportant H-scenes all over the place. Although some of them were pretty nice as nukige material, it felt kind of out of place, at least some of the scenes.) Specifically what irked me about this is that they pretty much right off the bat went full on guro mode, (first H-scene), but then suddenly toned down the gore and kept it all outside CGs in narration instead. Then, they switched it back and basically went back and forth the entire game. This game needs to have dark content due to the setting and plot, but it doesn't need pointless H-scenes with it. By putting in a few of those, then cutting them short just confuses everyone. It turns people who don't like guro away, because they don't want it, and it makes the people who came for guro quite annoyed, as it isn't the point of the game at all. If they just kept doing what they are good at, which is just narrating the dark scenes with writing and removing the pointless H, instead keeping a few of the essential H-scenes in the game, this would have been a game that can appeal to a lot more people. It quite honestly seemed to me like two writers with totally different goals in mind wrote a game, and then they just merged the two into one. + Very good art, decent introduction, cool characters, certain pretty emotional scenes, pretty decent writing most of the time - It's all over the place at times, and seems indecisive when it comes to what lines it should and shouldn't cross in terms of gore and H. The second game's tone is completely different, but honestly, that's a good thing. They should stick more to that kind of stuff, a slightly lighter tone with more focus on combat and action, and less focus on guro nukige level dark content. I haven't gotten far into the sequel yet, but I'm enjoying it quite a lot so far. Seems like a much more enjoyable read than the first one. Despite the first game's flaws, I'd recommend both of these. (I mean, it's worth it just for the art alone.)1 point -

Da Capo III up for preorder
Nandemonai reacted to novurdim for a topic
I'll ask you a single thing: was DC III, perhaps, the only visual novel you have ever heard of from mangagamer? I almost feel personally offended when someone compares MG to other existing players like Sekai or JAST and then call them pathetic because they are somehow too slow. DC III and Himawari are almost exceptions by now for the modern MG and the latter wasn't even their fault. I'm at a loss for words. Do you even understand that Dies translation has started a very long time ago and is nearly complete, the only reason they will release it so soon is because the localization itself has been revealed extremely late in the game. You know, with how you think that translation begins only after the formal announcement, MG has released Rance even faster than Dies!1 point -

Most unnecessarily difficult VN you've read
Vorathiel reacted to Fred the Barber for a topic
Flowers: Printemps has, if I just counted my walkthrough correctly, 63 choices, of which you must make ~60 correct (most give you points; some go to immediate bad ends) in order to get either of the two non-bad endings. Couple that with the fact that it never explains that there's subtle but visible feedback for your choices, let alone how to interpret it, and that it takes some time to notice it, and then even more time to be able to start reasoning about it after you notice it, and I guarantee you're getting bad ends (probably multiple of them, including of course the final one) on your first time through. Now, once you finish that playthrough, if you're not an idiot you'll have figured out the feedback and can just save scum your way through all 63 choices to reach the ending you want. Because while some are obvious, not all of them are, and you need so close to all of them correct that all those non-obvious ones need to be right too. Joy! Who doesn't love save scumming? And that's why I made a walkthrough for Flowers: Printemps.1 point -
Flowers review discussion thread
Vorathiel reacted to Fred the Barber for a topic
Yeah, I have mixed feelings about the fanservice. Like Decay, I would've rather they toned it down a bit, but I can kind of understand the line they're treading here. As is abundantly clear from the review, my gold standard for "relationship-oriented melodramas about Japanese all-girl Catholic high schools" is MariMite, which Flowers shares a lot of similarities with, but the biggest differences between the two are the physical nature of the relationships and, correspondingly, the amount of sexual content depicted. MariMite is extremely minimal (except sometimes in the ED videos, I suppose, if I'm being perfectly honest...), and always respectful about it (again, except the ED videos...), and I love that (and, who am I kidding, I kinda like the fanservicey ED videos too). Since the focus of the drama in that show isn't sexual relationships (except in exactly one case), the show pretty much doesn't show any kind of sexual relationship (except in, surprise surprise, that exact same case). Now with Flowers, in contrast, they actually were trying to tell a story about sexual, romantic relationships. So I get why there was a need for the main character to periodically reflect on her sexual attraction to the people around her. But the story and the characters are still very innocent, so it isn't going to go tread into full-on H-scene territory, and I respect that (though I expect I'm in the minority in this forum...). But to be completely frank, nobody will read this and then seriously argue that even a single thing that happens in the ballet room is anything less than pure, gratuitous fanservice. Edit: I forgot to answer @akaritan's question. Currently plan is for this to be a regular gig, not a one-off, but it mostly depends on me finding the time. I'll do my best to make time for it, though, since people have been quite supportive.1 point -
Chaos;Head
Mosaonetsera reacted to Eclipsed for a topic
Chaos;Head Note: Saves for Chapters 6 or 7 may be bugged (ie. loading save files from those chapters results in a crash). There is no fix; you'll have to playthrough those chapters without saving if you encounter this issue! Summary "Whose eyes are those eyes?" Takumi is not your average high school student. He attends school just enough to meet graduation requirements and barely has any friends. This is because he greatly prefers the 2D world over the 3D world, females included. In the virtual world, he is known as the almighty Knight-Hart, unrivaled by any other. One day, while chatting on the internet with his comrade Grim, a mysterious person under the alias of "Shogun" suddenly contacts him and gives him a URL. He goes to the website and finds a blog image that foreshadows a murder case...And on the next day, it really happens...! Has the world gone mad?! Or are these unfortunate events simply delusions conjured up in Takumi's head? Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order Chaos;Head is a linear story with no heroine routes. There are 3 endings: A, AA, and B. A and AA are based on your choices at the end of the game. B is only playable on a subsequent playthrough after completing A or AA and requires you to trigger specific delusions. There is a bad ending (game over) midway through the game based on a certain delusional trigger and the choices you make after it. Suggested Play Order Route Guideline There are "Delusional Triggers" encountered throughout the game which will cause the protagonist to hallucinate a: Humorous/perverted scene (green trigger, upper left corner) Dark/cynical scene (red trigger, upper right corner). If neither trigger is chosen, the scene proceeds normally without the protagonist hallucinating. Delusional triggers have no effect on the progression of the story, but triggering certain ones are required for the B ending. A ending AA ending B ending (accessible on new playthrough after completing A or AA) ~~~ Bad ending (Game over ending) Attribution This walkthrough was created and formatted by Eclipsed based on info attained on Gamefaqs.com (lord_rashiel's guide) with some adjustments.1 point
