Any female VN fans in our little community?
Funyarinpa and 4 others reacted to MaggieROBOT for a topic
Not sure if I'm active enough but... there's me! A weird 24 years old nerd girl who loves gaming (huge fan of Shin Megami Tensei and Metal Gear) and chinese power points! Sorry if this ends up being too long but here goes. I know I'm pretty much in the minority here, but I really like finding and reading different things. I didn't really started with otome actually, but with battle shounen chuuniges, and I'm glad I didn't stop there. But yeah, I also like BL and otome. I'm just not into moeges, since there's not enough guys story there and recently I learned to enjoy yuri, since it's so cuuuuute! But I'm open to suggestions, you can recommend me anything, I'll at least take a look! I loved Saya no Uta and Sekien no Inganock, and they aren't exactly targeted for girls. I'm not gonna lie, I like h-scenes just like you guys, but... I usually prefer when I see both participants on screen. I don't really read for self insertion. But this seems to be an otomege thing, since in 18+ otome games you can see the girl. So guess I'm not alone in that opinion. Now, games target at females... Yeah, people usually think date sims first, but if you dig deeper (like I did, since some years back I disliked otomes bc I thought they're all boring date sims), you'll find some good stuff! Of course, romance and power of love are important sometimes, but some galges do the same right? From memory, I can recommend Code:Realize, a steampunk game with an useful main character! The boys are really charming and Van Helsing is so like Archer from F/SN, god I'll die. Bocchi Musume x Produce Keikaku is funny and there's some nice ecchi CGs. And Shingakkou ~Noli me tangere~ is a super fucking incredible christian horror plotge, that's very different from your average BL game. And no, I'm not saying it's good bc "IT'S SO HOT KYAAA!", the execution of the plot is what's good, and play it just for porn, well, some of them are way too nightmarish, disgusting or symbolic, so... don't do that. So yeah, we're different but also alike! Or maybe I'm just weird.5 points -

Yes, don't get me wrong, I do believe that many VN are not targeted at any particular gender, or in other words, can be enjoyed equally by anyone. I doubt that many people would argue that let's say Steins;Gate is addressed at males just because the MC is a male, that's not what I'm going for here. What I intended to say is that there are a whole lot of VN's with storylines that would be easily enjoyable for both genders that for some reason decided it was a good idea to include a lot of elements clearly aimed for the male population, like a harem or h-scenes thoroughly narrated through a male perspective, while I don't find that inverse to be true in general terms: I don't know of many (or any before my post, actually) VN's with storylines suited for everyone with clear elements targeted at females.2 points

There's some female member here, and moat of then say that they want otome VN for recommendations. We also did have some female member who are quite active (ie had more than 500 posts) like @CeruleanGamer and @Novel21, although in Cerulean's case she was quite busy with her husband though. I have continuously requested feedback from MoeNovel on twitter with regards to the adult (original) version of the game, yet they ignore those questions. The fact that they so blatantly ignore such a common (and thus important) question is basically the same as saying "No, you won't get it". The IMHHW restoration patch turned out well, so I hope this one gets the same kind of TLC.2 points -
Why Tentacle Rape genre is exist?
FinalCloud and one other reacted to Plk_Lesiak for a topic
Oh, I didn't disagree with you in any way, more like expanded on the idea. I also think it goes beyond sheer anonymity, it's also about finding a community in which you can speak freely without fear of being rejected or vilified (regardless of whether anyone can identify you in RL), I'm a newbie here, but so far Fuwa seems pretty good in this respect. Oh, I'm very much the same, but I also have some online friends that are into various rare fetishes and I'm super curious about this stuff. Not for "personal use", but rather about how it works and what people create to get their fix. It's also more or less within my academic field of interest.2 points -

Sol Press announces 'Newton and the Apple Tree'
Kenshin_sama and one other reacted to Xeviax for a topic
I try to make sure that I read every comment that I can on here, and I can guarantee that I understand the position that you and Sol Press are in. Hopefully, I can provide you guys with some information real quick, and be as open as possible! In terms of licensing, this is something we've even discussed with different partners of ours. We are still small, so it is difficult to actually acquire anything substantial. The titles we have though mean the world to us, and we wouldn't have picked them up if we didn't like them. It's a growing game, so hopefully, in a few years you'll see us up near the top. For Kickstarters, I have the exact same worries as most of you. Translation quality, becoming reliant on Kickstarter, and reliability are all issues that are currently plaguing the industry. I personally have read each and every complaint about the translation quality of Sakura Sakura. We hesitated to release a Kickstarter Update until just a few days ago because there were so many changes happening each and every day in Sol Press to fix this. It was literally a "Let's wait until tomorrow to announce this because this is happening tomorrow also" that would repeat every day. In the Kickstarter update, we addressed the issue of translation quality by doing the following: We brought on more experienced translators (TBAC and Ningen) to assist with the translation. We also brought on two very experienced proofreaders and beta testers, Kitty-tama and Haerts (whose names I think most of you will recognize). To address issues of becoming reliant on Kickstarter, we've already begun projects that are not reliant on Kickstarter. We don't plan on announcing any of them through until they're much closer to release, but I can guarantee you it is something we want to move away from in the future. In summary: We'll get bigger titles as we slowly grow our name, but in our personal beliefe, each one of our titles is special and worth a read. I personally read all the criticism I can find, even if it hurts. We're actively taking steps to improve on our weaknesses. We're going to be moving away from Kickstarter, although the first few Kickstarters are to Kickstart the company as a whole. They help to build a rhythm and structure our deadlines/timeframes. alice is super cute. I've always been available on Discord for any DM's. If you see an issue arising at our company, please let me know! It's a lot easier to fix issues before it becomes ingrained in company culture than after. I also want to point out that we are trying to identify issues we see are arising as well. An example would be honorifics. To help alleviate this issue, I came up with the idea of a honorifics toggle system. Our surveys have pointed out that there is a large demographic that was being ignored with this. 13% of readers prefer no honorifics, while 54% prefer honorifics (33% don't care). Our entire goal is to make reading visual novels a more pleasant experience. From our review poll, this was a highly utilized and appreciated mechanic. If anyone sees other similar issues, please let me know and we'll try to brainstorm solutions!2 points -
Starting a blog about western VNs and VN developers? [EVN Chronicles "Megathread"]
Narcosis reacted to Plk_Lesiak for a topic
Hey there lovely people, I've mentioned in my introduction thread that I'm a bit of a graphomaniac - I most likely spend unreasonable amounts of time writing reviews on Crunchyroll and Steam, writing those might be a hobby of mine just as much as watching/reading the stuff I write about. Before I registered on Fuwa, an owner of a certain obscure otaku website noticed my "talent" and invited me to write articles for him - while I quickly realized that it was pretty much a waste of time and only delivered a few texts, that experience gave me a few ideas on content I could create for the benefit of my favourite western VNs and their authors. While looking for an outlet that would be interested in my writing, I actually found this community and later decided to get involved (regardless on whether it could help me with sharing my compulsive creativity). Now while I rightfully gave up on the idea that anyone would want something of mine published on the Fuwa frontpage, there's still this nice little blog functionality available here. I could use it to produce two kinds of content I had in mind earlier: 1. Reviews of Western VNs that were not caught by FuwaReviews team or any blog included in the Reviews portal (possibly even polemic reviews when I'm done with "undiscovered" stuff). 2. Interviews with notable western developers about their games and all things VN-related (should be doable, considering that they're often one-person studios or tiny indie teams desperate for positive exposure). I know that western VNs don't receive much attention/aren't highly regarded here and we're a fairly small community anyway. So the question is: would anyone here be interested in reading the crap I've described above (if you want to know what my writing looks like, you can check the Steam link next to my profile picture or my Crunchyroll account - obviously the blog would have longer, more detailed entries). I will appreciate all honest feedback, I won't be doing much about it in the coming two-three weeks anyway because of RL commitments, but I would love to see whether there's any demand for what I had in mind or should I just crawl to a shady corner and not bother anyone with my weirdness. ;p Cheers!1 point -
And from checking the vndb, I doubt we will be getting an 18+ version unless someone makes a restoration patch. Fuck.1 point

I agree, the more choice we get the better. Maybe we'll see more of that in future VNs, just as we see it in western RPGs nowadays. And with Flowers, it's definitely beautiful, has wonderful aesthetic and atmosphere. The rest is maybe more up to personal taste. It's very slow and sentimental, which is fine with me, and the OBVIOUSLY BEST GIRL is not the canon ending, which is unforgivable. ;p But seriously speaking, I've loved every moment of it and I pretty much recommend it to anyone. Sadly it's hard to tell when the sequels are going to get their English releases (if ever), the second one in theory should be on its way but that's all I've heard about it so far.1 point -

moenovel is releasing "A sky full of stars"
Dreamysyu reacted to Nandemonai for a topic
Moenovel censored their second game in a devious way to try to cover up the fact they were doing it. They released it first in English, then several months later released it in Japan ... with h-scenes added and specifically said to only be for Japan. That sounds more or less like the kind of trick you'd expect to fool 12 year old girls, so yeah, I'd say they are1 point -

Kenshin_sama reacted to bakauchuujin for a topic
Personally i want to see moenovel fail with their next releases. The way they have handled the western vn marked just seems really bad. First there is konosora that they just censored the hell out of, so they could aim for the huge audience of 12 year old french girls just dying to get into enlish translated vns. Then it seemed like they had better strategy with the lovekami spinn offs, while the games weren't really good atleast from what we could see in the start it did not have an 18+ edition and therefore it didn't seem like anything was cut. Then they come out with info of the release of the japanese version which is the true full game with the 18+ content that seemed to have been planed all along. They even had the balls to promote the game for the japanese audience by using the fact that the game had been released in english and that the japanese people would exclusively get the 18+ content. Whatever their initial intent was this just looks really bad. First they made the people in the west think that what they got was the full game. Then they release the game for the japanese audience promoting their bellow average game through the fact that it had been released in the west and that the japanese would get a better edition. This action seems much more like an exploitation of the western vn fanbase rather than something made to please the fanbase. Looking at the cg from the 18+ version and knowing the general quality of the vns i don't think we missed out on much in the case of lovekami, however my principle is that i want the full experience of a vn with nothing cut. So atleast personally this pissed me of and from what i can see moenovel just doesn't seem to respect the western vn fanbase at all.1 point -
Why Tentacle Rape genre is exist?
Plk_Lesiak reacted to Thyndd for a topic
Yeah, and on that note, I'd like to point out that most people don't carry their fetishes onto real life. What I mean by this is, even if someone gets off to rape pornography, it's not like that would be something they would enjoy in real life, mainly because empathy is a thing for most of us. So, exactly, I'm the opinion that everyone should be able to speak freely about this without being vilified.1 point -

In referencing IRL I was merely providing a context in which "tentacle r$pe" is considered strange, along with most other things featured in hentai plus hentai itself. Thus highlighting that it is BECAUSE we are on this forum/the internet that some people are able to overtly express their "like" for that fetish, thus creating demand for material like that to be produced and therefore ultimately that people accept that fetish as not being "strange" Essentially the point I was highlighting is the point that you just made -.-. As per this part: But with the added point that it is the anonymity of the net that makes any persons fetishes able to be explored. Not necessarily a direct answer to the question, hence the part that followed directly answered the post. It was merely my own thoughts on the matter.1 point -

Walkthrough -> To get onto a route, pick the same girl 5 times. (http://www.otakulair.com/euphoria-walkthrough-mangagamer/) Endings -> You do not need to get all the endings to enjoy this. If you don't like the things that happen, you probably want to get to the true end as fast as possible. Both Rika's and Natsuki's routes can be skipped. Rinne's route should be played first followed by Nemu's. After this Kanae's route can be played which results in your normal end. Save at the last choice, to get the true end. Avoid -> Every bad end. The brute end. (if you find it hard to stomach the normal gameplay now, the bad ends will be........) Natsuki's end isn't bad, but not really necessary. Rika serves no purpose, but to arouse people who like to torture small loli's who pee alot. Despite how it is now, the end is really good and is worth (maybe?) the journey to get there. Good Luck~1 point -
lol... I hate to say this, but if there is one thing you can depend on with Japanese companies in the present day, it is for them to get on a trend late and screw up massively. The exceptions are few and far in between. I never said that it was a good idea, but the fact is that the battle system would probably make a good transition to mobile platforms. They already did a test of concept with the Hot Dogger Edition of Heart, which was essentially a battle game. If they'd done it four years ago, they probably could have scored a profit, but the competition is just too high nowadays. Moreover, Giga keeps forcing its programmers to try out every new gimmick that makes its way onto the VN and VN hybrid scene... and mostly they screw up. Like most programmers who went into VNs, they can do one thing really well and can't do anything else right without a lot of patches.1 point

Plk_Lesiak reacted to FinalCloud for a topic
I dont know if I would say it isnt strange, I certainly wouldnt be going telling anyone I know IRL that I am into hentai porn (let alone any fetishes within hentai porn). Naturally I wouldnt feel this way if it wasnt on some level considered strange. I have been that two faced fool IRL that joked about tentacle porn and hentai in general, nodding along about how anyone could be into that stuff, while thinking meh, real porn sucks, bad acting, most pornstars are grim, etc. Sex > Hentai Porn > Porn (I was talking to a girl in my defense, was hardly going to come out and say it). But with the anonymity of the internet, and this forum about VNs where many of the people know about this stuff, none of these fetishes are particularly strange even if one persons likes are another persons hates and visa versa. Your question is a fair one, but to pose it, you have to question why Bondage hentai, why food eating hentai, why scat, why traps, why hentai in the first place... etc. The answer ofc, is that everyone has their likes and dislikes as I said above (and has been said by others).1 point -

Why Tentacle Rape genre is exist?
BookwormOtaku reacted to Clephas for a topic
This is just my thoughts on the matter... Tentacle H and tentacle rape (consensual exists, in some VNs) is all about the defiling/tainting/corrupting of humanity by the obviously inhuman. Since some of my tendencies head in that direction (I like the Vanadis monster girl VNs) I can theorize... I've also played several games of the type, primarily the Venus Blood games and a few Black Cyc games back in the day. For the most part, whenever tentacles get involved, it seems that character corruption accompanies it as a set, regardless of consensual or non-consensual aspects. Edit: This is rather obviously illustrated by the fact that females that are normally associated with 'purity' or high culture tend to be the majority targets of tentacle rape... Mahou shoujo, princess knights, princesses, exorcist miko girls... etc etc.1 point -

What Video Games Are You Playing Right Now?
Fred the Barber reacted to Eclipsed for a topic
Yeah, OoT is something i probably wouldn't enjoy if i played it now..but the nostalgia is real. ...wait, some of you guys consider it hard? whatta buncha plebs ~~ I randomly managed to plow through Nights of Azure. It's a 6 or 7/10 Gust JRPG, basically consists of 40% supernatural demon stuff and 60% yuri between the protagonist Arnice, a half-demon Holy Knight of the organization Curia, and Lilysse, a Saint from the same organization and her best friend. Basic world lore is that XXXX years ago or so the First Saint defeated the evil Nightlord who threatened to shrowd the entire world in Eternal Night, but a consequence was that the sealing blow caused the Nightlord's Blue Blood to shower the earth corrupting everyone and everything it touched. The organization Curia was established to maintain the Nightlord's seal, and every 10 years a Saint is sacrificed in order to do so. Holy Knights are formed to protect these Saints and also combat Fiends, people who have turned into monsters from being exposed to Blue Blood. Arnice is the first ever purple blooded half-demon, a result of her original red human blood being exposed to the blue demon blood. Yada yada yada, Lilysse is chosen by Curia to become the next Saint to be sacrificed with Arnice as her Holy Knight, and the duo spend the entire game quipping back and forth how Lily shouldn't sacrifice herself, how Arnice will protect her no matter what, and overall affirming their love for each other The gameworld is pretty lifeless, there's literally only three other male NPCs to interact with at the one hotel you stay in the entire game (and the familiars you unlock i guess); the rest of the world map is reserved for monsters and hack n' slashing. Gameplay is OK, this was one of Gust's early attempts at Action Rpgs or so and it shows. Arnice is limited to running around hack n' slashing with a sword and fixed combos, no spells, and can't even jump around, but you eventually unlock daggers, crossbow, and a 2h hammer so you can mix n' match the slice and dicing. You can also collect and summon up to 4 familiars to assist you in combat, there's a variety of them ranging from melee dps to tanks to healers but I find that the first 4 they give you at the start of the game are the best >.>. Quests and overall main plot progression are limited to "Go to X, talk to Y, defeat Z, proceed"... ~~ Nights of Azure 2 on the other hand is looking like an 8/10 just from first impressions. Overall story is same premise, 'cept we have Holy Knight Aluche and Saint Liliana this time around set some time after the events of the 1st game, so an indirect sequel. I'm only at the beginning, but wow jumping from PS3 to PS4 graphics is very nice, the character models' eyes more lively, movement and expression animations more fluid, etc, #graphicsmatter. They also made better effort in establishing the main yuri duo Aluche's and Liliana's relationship this time; Arnice x Lilysse was kind of shoved down your throat at the start and didn't feel as natural. Gameplaywise the hack n' slashing is overall same if not more polished, but the cooler thing is you can have an actual partner with you instead of just familiars and can perform some pretty flashy combos with them now.1 point -

Here's my thoughts on everything I'm watching. Shoujo Shuumatsu - Unlike Ittaku, I have the exact opposite problem with this show. Shoujo Shuumatsu is not boring enough. This is mainly due to my comparing it to the manga, but it feels like they're trying to give so much more energy and pep to a manga, which is is a lot more subdued in it's approach. It's the same exact story, but there's so many changes to the tone of it that it loses the spirit of the original. This also means that the the manga and the anime are constantly clashing. We have a story that relies on it's more casual and reflective nature going against a direction that is trying to make it something it isn't. The art is also a lot worse than the manga. It's more detailed and colored, but the roughness of the manga gave it a wasteland feeling, while the anime has a destroyed city type of thing going on. This makes the strange structures stand out as even more jarring and distracting than the manga. It's still a decent enough show, but it could have been so much more. Anime-Gataris - It's okay. The in depth anime talk is pretty amusing, but past that there's not much interesting going on with the story. Ballroom e Youkoso - I hate this show so much. It's like every single bad sports manga cliche put into a sport that I could not give any less of a shit about. I've been watching it at 2x speed for the past two episodes because of how little I like it. Blend S - the main appeal of it for me was the sadist faces, but the past few episodes have been lacking them, so since then I can only think of it as a very average show. Shobitch - Don't know why I'm still watching this shit. It's not funny at all. Sex jokes and japanese humor don't go together at all. Imouto Sae Ireba Ii - This is actually pretty alright, almost good even. People have only reacted to the amazing opening scene, but past that what you have is a competently written show about people and their passions or lack of passion for what they do. It's sad that it's probably being labeled as an incest show by people despite the complete lack of it. Just Because! - It's good. The interpersonal drama between all the characters is very well handled and it doesn't fall into any of the cliches that most other shows of this genre do. Kekkai Sensen & Beyond - It's very similar to the first season. That isn't bad at all, as it's still a fun show to watch, but there doesn't appear to be an overarching plot this season, which is a big disappointment. Kino's Journey - Not nearly as good as the first season, but it still has some fantastic episodes. They're really hit and miss episodes, but the good episodes have all the great writing of the original series. I just wish that the selection of stories here was better, since it could be just as good as the original if it tried enough. Konohana Kitan - Probably the best show this season. It had a few missteps in the beginning, but it's finally found it's footing as is now consistently on point. It uses it's supernatural world with japanese folklore really well to tell interesting lessons. It also has a fun cast of characters and some really strong yuri ships. Oh, and the characters are fox girls, so that also adds a lot to the show's charm. Children of The Whales - It's okay. The art is fantastic, but nothing past that is all that great. The story as a whole feels messy and rushed. The characters are incredibly basic in their personalities and frequently act out of character. It also pushes it's ideas way too much to the point that it's almost insulting. Love Live! Sunshine!! S2 - It's kind of eh. Never really liked the Aquors girls as characters, so seeing more of them leaves me more annoyed than happy to see them again. I also don't really like any of their music, and I think this season turned up the cheesiness levels too much, even for Love Live! Mahoujin Guruguru - still really liking this show. The half this season isn't as strong as the first half and it has slowed down it's pace, but it's still a really fun show to watch.1 point

Vist [C's Ware]
Chronopolis reacted to kivandopulus for a blog entry
Foreword: It's a C's Ware story game so I'm in. I have not read reviews prior to playing the game. I followed three different walkthroughs though - and still failed to get even a single happy ending. You can read about my torments below. Title: Vist Developer: C's Ware Date: 1999-12-02 VNDB link:https://vndb.org/v6108 Length: 20 hours. Game type: Map selection ADV. Difficulty: Pretty insane. Some mazes are ridiculously difficult and twice I failed to find a way within an hour and had to precisely follow walkthrough. Another my huge disappointment is that I failed miserably to get any happy ending. So here how it was. I followed walkthrough accurately for the first time aiming for Rin ending. For some reason I got only a normal one no matter how many times I reloaded the last two battles. Then i dug two more walkthroughs and one said that simultaneous capture was possible so I flagged every heroine twice and saved before the final 3rd flagging... and no matter how many times I followed that choice to the end I still got only same normal ending. So my guess is that 1) simultaneous capturing is impossible and it's needed to strictly not flag any other girl 2) you probably need to make sure you win all the battles (it's very unclear in the game whether you actually got hit or made a successful counter-attack) 3) C's Ware turned into complete sadists after very very torturing Kazeoto, Chirin. There are a lot of choices and hundreds of map and items interaction so even with skipping whole playthrough for the heroines ending scene is going to take at least two hours (more like three). And there are EIGHT heroines! There's just one CG for this final scene so it's a very short one. After a full day of replaying trying to get good ending I just got so sick of the game that I don't the will to keep trying. Synopsis: Takuto, the protagonist, is a sickly highschool student with a heart disease. His father is a scientist and researcher who is traveling overseas. Even thought he is alone in home, his neighbor and university student Rin come visit him every day, and every night his father call him and they talk by phone. But one day, his father stops calling and they lost contact. Takuto wonders if something happened to him and contacts the laboratory where his father works. But the staff members dont' know anything. Takuto is worried, until one day a strange girl called Eryu appears in his house with a letter from his father. "I'm sorry ------" - Says the last words of his father. And something who don't look to be human starts to approach the hero, who little by little get caught in the case of the bizarre murders. Structure: There are 5 chapters each containing on average 8 days. Character Design rating: 8/10 Protagonist rating: 8/10 Story rating: 7/10 Game quality: 8/10 Overall rating: 8/10 Rating comments: I'm biased here since watching all the good endings could melt my heart a bit. But overall characters don't look too likable. Out of 8 heroines I liked Reiko the scientist woman the most and she's pretty much a standard office lady. So there aren't really likable characters. Protagonist is too weak at first and in the second half he fails to control himself repeatedly and looses memory of what happened more than once. Can't really say that he's moving the flow of the story. Game looks and feels quite cheap - mostly thanks to character design and only female cast voicing. Don't get me wrong - CG and interactive part are awesome. Game also has a number of very colorful enemies and side-characters... but they are males and thus not voiced. Story was a firm 9 up to the last fifth chapter where it suddenly changed the location and got too cryptic leaving a lot of loose ends behind. Protagonist The transformation from a weakling into superhuman was quite well done. He's beaten bloody for the first half of the game by other hooligan students and is only occasionally saved by girls who happen to be around. What differs him from other students is his high metabolism and ability to stay close to the infection fog without being infected. What I like about him is how he takes the beatings by the hooligans. He hardly says a word and just tolerates everything with the thoughts "If I do as they want the beatings will only get worse". Apart of that he hardly knows and does not have his own will - it might be for the best since it's easy to associate oneself with him. Characters: As I've mentioned there are a lot of cool bad guys in this game. Later game is based on fights, but there is only one capable of fighting heroine.Apart of the bad guys there is one very impressive "Scarred man" - he's basically of the same source as yourself and thus he just terminates his enemies. You hardly manage to fight one beast and then just walk and see rivers of blood and guts left behind that person. He showed up at different moments in the game and was a great guy to look up to. But again, last chapter prepared a hasty resolution for him as well and this trump card was poorly played. Since there are 8 heroines it's supposed to be a gal game? Well, absolutely not. Every girl has three flags and flagging is basically done by the end of 4th chapter. There are no girls in 5th chapter (well, almost), but after the final battle the girl suddenly appears and you see her ending with just one CG and some phrases. It can hardly be called a "route" and especially an "ending". It's a story game. What's nice in the heroines is that three of them are grown-up ladies in their 30's and the other half are of the same or close age to Takuto. So there is a childhood friend, a meganekko, a hooligan girlfriend, a mysterious girl who is sent to you from your father, a half-native african girl, scientific researcher, news reporter and some superstrong mysterious woman. Story: So for the story. The most stunning fact is that first two chapters last for 18 days and literally nothing happens during that time. You just go to school and go to sleep at home, that's it. What's that - a slice of life? Whenever I got slightly bored with it I just rewatched the cool opening and and kept on waiting. Chapter 3 is where girls start to show up and story finally starts to form. By the end of Chapter 4 the story is over and heroine route is finalized. I would actually prefer finishing the story there with maybe one additional fight. But it goes on in some forgotten African country laboratory. But it's actually Chapter 4 that gives us all the answers. Chapter 5 throws genetics, superhuman entity, clones and superficial myths together and only tells us the story of our father (and mother?). There are only couple locations here, development is hasty and there's little meaning in what's going on anymore, then it gets even more confusing and - bam - battles - battles - the end. Battles are done pretty well so you only choose the part of enemy to attack or the defend action for each turn. Enemy may choose to block one of these three parts and counter-attacks if you choose the same body part. Saving helps, but there are also some tricks involving using special items against special enemies. Some enemies attack animations are pictured clearly, but some can't be seen in advance. Some don't have attack animation and they retaliate every round. It's quite ok as it is. So my greatest complaints are to the story and especially this final chapter. Also the first four chapters were quite lively for the most part with frequent mysterious events happening. Chapter 5 has a totally different, decadent atmosphere - grim music, cold pictures and the hero who does not care about his survival, but needs this last chain to break. Ending is the most important part of the game and here it's just wrecked mercilessly which inevitably hurts the evaluation a lot. CG: Character designs are not too exciting, but CG truly are. Somehow HCG are especially beautiful. Sound: Only female voicing. BGM is fine, at times slightly irritating. Themes and symbols: As you might have already guessed, the story does not feel integral. There are a lot of actions and cool scenes, but there is not much talk behind them. And there is no afterthought either. The mind is blank and is helplessly trying to put the pieces together rather than think it over. Overall comments: It's a good C's Ware game and I'm in no way disappointed. The impression reminded me the one after most of Nitro+ earlier games - WTH was that just now? It's not a bad way, but it does not suit C's Ware. Previous games had a satisfying resolution, but here I got only main answers while the fates of the side-characters and even their true nature remained in the dark. A true route would really fit here well. So I'll try to remember Vist and a colorful breathtaking game with a vast amount of beauty and gore.1 point
