08/19 - Fukami's ROUTE COMPLETED! FULL PATCH Maitetsu 18+ Demosaic Patch - FULL Three Main Heroines + Reina + Fukami.7z Installation guide: - if you have downloaded the daily patch - patch3.xp3 just manually delete it ( you don't need it anymore because its already inside the FULL Three Main Heroines patch. ) Incremental update - no incremental update - because deltax with 7z made a bigger sized file then the FULL PATCH, it didn't make sense to make one.5 points -

We are still looking for a permanent TLC to work on this project. Please PM me if you're interested in working as a TLC for this project. That's all for this week. See you all later.3 points -

08/18 - Fukami's new hscene released! Just extract patch3.xp3 from the 7.z directly in the game folder, overwrite the old patch3.xp3 ( if it exists ). Patch3.xp3 is a separate patch until it's completed. You still need the Full Main three heroines + Reina patch (Hachi, Hibiki, Paulette and Reina, named patch2.xp3) + the restoration patch ( bandaids removal or heliosaurus restoration, named patch.xp3 ) Maitetsu 18+ Demosaic Patch - Fukami v0.4.7z PS. Added a support section in the OP post. Not necessary, but if you really want to buy me a coffee, will always be grateful :). Doesn't affect the release of the patch. More details on the ko-fi webpage.3 points -

i bet there´s actually A WHOLE LOT more people going for its 17+ version than many think there are. like it´s basically the complete game, just without the porn, so said version should be perfect for reading on tablets etc when being among others. no risk of getting weird looks when suddenly stumbling upon h-scenes. at home is at home. and not everyone feels comfortable viewing porn in public. of cource there´s also others who dislike h-scenes in general.2 points

Pick Corrupted's Next VN Part #2
Plk_Lesiak reacted to Corrupted for a topic
Please forgive my walls of text. As a career Data Analyst, this is simply how I perceive and digest the world around me. Inevitably, it also affects how I communicate. The last poll was successful and useful to me! I had Planetarian as a winner and Ever17 as a runner up. I cried buckets for Planeterian - It was such a perfect story and easily my top favorite VN of such small length. Despite being pissed at the excruciatingly slow navigation of Ever17 (wasting hours of my life waiting for it to skip so I can try again and fail to get a good ending) I can easily see why everyone thinks it's one of the best. What a ride. EDIT: The ending redeems everything. Thus I have removed my formerly blasphemous words about the game. This new list includes suggestions I had from before: -Ayakashibito, Symphonic Rain were suggested because I thought Mare from Hoshimemo was precious (Thanks @Zakamutt). -The House in Fate Morgana was suggested by @Funyarinpaas an important VN that was omitted from @Kaguya's list that I rely on, due to being translated afterward the list was made. -D.S. -Dal Segno- was suggested by @r0xm2n as having a good AI waifu. -Zanmataisei Demonbane, Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer were suggested by @Nier as having some good robo waifus. -Sekien no Inganock, Ourai no Gahkthun - For the caretaker vibe, suggested by @ChaosRaven -Sharin no Kuni - for the caretaker vibe, as suggested by @Tamaki Sakura - Maitetsu - was suggested for a caretaker vibe by @Plk_Lesiak and I think I saw it mentioned by a couple other people for other reasons that I might like it. Whew, I think that's enough for now. There were other suggestions that weren't English translated, I couldn't find a way to download from my usual source, or I just ran out of patience when formatting this list so I didn't get to it. Thank you everyone for your input!1 point -
Good morning to you fellow enthusiasts, I'm Hata-tan and I am the admin of Visual-novel.info, a German website and community about visual novels from visual novel enthusiasts for visual novel enthusiasts and I have written a review about the newest release of Sol Press "Newton and the Apple Tree". Instead of going to translate my whole review for you guys I'm really urging you to read it with google translate, as bad as that may sound - English to German is really good. It lowers the text maybe down to some typographical errors and wonky sentence structure, but believe me it's acceptable and nowhere to standards of your diary+ You can access my review here: https://visual-novel.info/newton-and-the-apple-tree-newton-to-ringo-no-ki-review/ In course of this review and also during the review period I got kind of closer to the translator of the game which presented a fairly zealous image to me and showed me that translators with passion are still among us. It is actually his first TL he worked on and so far there's barely any complaints about them if next to none. Really congratz to Bango for a successful release and the popularity in the international Steam-Lists represent that. Nonetheless, let's begin with the interview. 「Interestingly enough Bango personally agreed to this interview and answered quite a lot of answers for me and towards the reader of the game. I'll paraphrase them for you and hope that you support Bango for future releases and follow him on social media and check out his other project: Strongest Gamer: Let's Play in Another World. 1. Even though the used jargon in the game is scientifically versed you don't use completely alien words which you even have to look up as a native speaker. How do you word the terms so even an ESL can understand them without any problems? Was it hard for you to understand the specific jargon or did you have to research a lot? If not, what were difficulties you had to overcome? Bango: I studied thermodynamics and electricity when I was at school, so it wasn't that difficult for me to deal with the themes of the game. The bigger problem would have been the wordplay and the puns. It's not easy to explain concepts taking into consideration I had to put myself in the mindset of people that don't know what gravitation is and explain it that way, 2. Towards the general translation: Many games have the problems that the Japanese is too descriptive also you had to shorten a few sentences I assume? How often did you rephrase whole sections and why? We received the All-Ages Version and I'm still having shade towards Sol Press because of it. I want to know how you liked the AA version. Bango: Maybe during the sex scenes I had to spice things up a bit to make the reader "happy". Japanese porn goes into silly detail when talking about porn sometimes. And about the All-Ages version you received... I'd rather not think too hard about it. 3. If you look at the translation in retrospect, what could you have done better? Bango: Maybe the beginning, Newton was my first project after all, so I was pretty green at first. I started Strongest Gamer around the moment Emmy's route starts. There are a few parts I would rephrase is I did them again today, but guess all writers of any kind feel that way about their work. 4. While translating, did you learn many new things? Bango: I learned not to be too stiff with line and scrap repetition whenever it's not necessary in English. Simple is best to make things read natural. (Hata's assumption: Japanese love the concept of over-descriptive text ever since literature began and its most noticeable in contemporary literature, also the self-recognition and confirmation of many things which completely contrasts with the more on-point writing style in the west.) 5. Do you think it is important to have played the whole game before translating? Or do you think you should translate from start to finish in one go and recheck several times? I personally think that an official release cannot avoid the fact you should know the game in and out flawlessly. Bango: Yes, it's extremely useful to play the game first all the way. It's easier to plan ahead if you know what's coming up. There's a lot of foreshadowing in the early chapters of Newrin which are kinda hard to notice the first time around. Although most translators don't have the luxury to play their games in advance. 6. How does it feel continuing when you already know whats going on? Does it get boring because of it? Bango: On no, the feeling of transmitting lines into another language with the same soul is very moving no matter the situation. It's better to work that way. 7. How do you create such a natural vibe with your phrases? Do you read them out yourself and analyze what sounds like functional English? Bango: Yes, I try listening to stuff all day and read a lot, you get a feel of what's natural that way. 8. Two more detailed questions and then we're done: What did you learn mechanically when translating NewRin? New grammatical structure, certain kotowaza (proverbs) which you had to research and find English equivalents? Which resources did you use, physical dictionaries, online-dictionaries, J -> J Encyclopedia and other things. In addition to that which was your translated lines ratio per day? (Lines/Day) average amount =? Bango: Dictionaries of all kind are quite useful and if we are talking about translated lines I guess its 8000/10000 characters a day which translates to around 500 lines a day. Color me surprised, some translators do even more (Hata's note: I'm thinking here of Steiner, AruNaru or Aroduc...). When I started my goal were 250 line per session but beyond the beginning struggles, I quickly exceeded that. 9. Incredible, do you think that TLing H-Scenes is rather boring? Do they tire you out? Bango: Not at all. I translated doujins for a whole year before starting my work on Newrin, sex doesn't scare me. you gotta strive to make lines hot in sex scenes. 10. Closing Question: Do you have any comment for the readers or the players of the game. You can also give a tip to our wannabe-translators. Bango: If a dumbo like me can translate, anyone cans. I hope everyone enjoys the game as much as I did. And most importantly, don't play without the patch Patch: https://pantypress.com/ 」 Thanks for this thorough interview, but the last and most interesting question hasn't been answered yet: Why do you use Kunrei-Shiki for Syujis name? Bango: It's something I can't comment on, really sorry. Buy NewRin here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/721010/Newton_and_the_Apple_Tree/ The team that worked on NewRin: https://twitter.com/ZeHaffen/status/10302199256239185931 point

Currently playing through some of last month's Japanese releases, currently on Koi wa Sotto Saku Hana no you ni , which has been one of the better Ensemble games thus far. Just finished Shin Koihime † Musou - Kakumei ~Son Go no Ketsumyaku~ which was quite good - Go was always my favorite faction in that series, so it was nice to get a full game focusing on them.1 point -

I decided to do the usual thing and look through my vndb list. I had to cast a pretty wide net, but here's some other candidates: https://vndb.org/v646 This is a chuunige, but Suzu is somewhat of a qt loli type and even the true route character. https://vndb.org/v751 Drama/chuuni mix, but Shizuru might be to your liking. Unfortunately her route is probably the worst in the game. https://vndb.org/v38 Straight up drama; Lise's route is generally considered the weakest, but she's pretty loli-ish and her route is fairly nakige structured as well. https://vndb.org/v16958 Ok mostly I just felt like shilling this but I do have a reason: the loli is really cute and wew that art. However, the loli is a brutal serial killer who puts little value on others' lives and likes to philosophize about how the world is a battlefield and you gotta kill them before they kill you. Not to mention it's kinetic and she's a bit more of a side character, though still important to the plot. It's not translated, of course. Maybe I'll do it in ten years.1 point

I'm fairly sure this is one of those things that you're really meant to chalk up to coincidence. And trust me when I say that reality has greater insanity going around in it than someone having a headache whilst a woman is in his shower, and his brother ALSO has a woman in his shower. The fact that Maou disappears in some of the routes where Kyousuke also settles down is just because he ALSO chooses to settle down. Or maybe something goes wrong with his plan, I'm not entirely sure since it's been a while since I read the VN. I like the plot point as a Red Herring at least, a better executed version of it than at least one other version I've seen in literature.1 point

Shigure planned to have them all get together with him though so why would she wait? My guess is that she will bribe the catgirls with tuna then switch place with one of them when they all plan to have sex with her brother at the same time. Shigure will probably just dress up like one of them and try to use the confusion to get him to insert it from behind and use the fact that he deflowered her to make him take responsibility.1 point -

Yesterday (or rather today around 2AM) I finished AIR Wow, that was a ride... First is "Dream" arc - something like "School" in Clannad. I played in the order suggested by @Flutterz's walkthrough - Misuzu, Kano and then Minagi. There are some other walkthroughs that suggest reversed order (meaning leaving Misuzu for the last playthrough). Actually both approaches make sense. Since Kano's and Minagi's stories can be considered side-stories, and Misuzu is main character, playing her route last makes sense story-wise. OTOH, reading it first gives game a structure somewhat similar to LittleBusters While Misuzu is main character of whole VN, and I love her, the best route of Dream arc is Minagi's. Minagi is lovely, first impression somewhat similar to Kotomi from Clannad. Michiru was annoying at first, but as I got deeper into the story, I grew fond of her as well. And the ending of this route hits hard with feels... This route also has interesting quirk, because Kano's route is significantly weaker, but still enjoyable, and she was very likeable character for me as well. Misuzu is great, but her route serves mostly as introduction for later arcs. After completing three heroine's routes, there's "Summer" arc. It has no choices, and gives backstory for "Girl in the sky" and her connection to Yukito. It was good, packed both with comedy and feels. Also, it features another VA I really like (first being Aya Hisakawa as Haruko) - Kikuko Inoue as Uraha. Then comes "AIR" arc - something like "Refrain" or "After Story". Main heroines of this part are Misuzu and Haruko. It was great, but it hits right into the feels many times, as its very bittersweet. At the end, I cried my eyes out There are some glimpses of hope but overally, from 4 KEY VNs I read (Kanon, AIR, Clannad and LB!) this is definitely the saddest one, without clear happy ending provided by KeyMagicTM (like Clannad After Story's final run or LB's "it's not enough!"). I'm completely used to Key's art style, so no complaints here, and backgrounds are actually really good. Music was good too. I tried both English patches (WinterConfetti's and GaoGao's), and finally switched to the former (with All-Ages addon from Takafumi). Both have their share of problems, but they aren't game breaking, so just pick your poison Great emotional ride, and it's for me right up there with Clannad and LB. 9/101 point
