Can't you tell I'm part of the old man club by the fact that I only consume moege and romance?2 points -
So, yesterday (or actually very early today ) I finished Aokana with Asuka's route. It's another masterpiece among charage that I encountered recently (after Mashiro Iro Symphony). Really, when I started it I didn't know what to actually expect from it, and it blew me away. All girls were cute, and all four routes were great for me, but if I had to pick the favorite one, it would be Misaki, but only by a hair's breadth FC/action stuff, comedy and relationships - all complemented each other nicely. Art was stunning - both beautifully detailed backgrounds, and character design. Add to this good music and FIVE different ending songs - simply amazing. Also, it's probably VN with most wholesome h-scenes I've ever seen so far (if you actually can say that about h-scenes ) - I loved that. They were very satisfying emotionally, and just cute, filled with love. And they mostly kept characters' personalities intact, which is huuuge plus. Look and learn, Chuablesoft! (except they're already out of business, so they won't ) 9/10, totally recommended, and I'm really glad it got official international release. (Aokana and YMK spoilers below)1 point

Aokana Release by Nekonyan [UPDATED]
Freestyle80 reacted to Formlose Gestalt for a topic
I have heard nowhere that they declared bankruptcy! In the article that Seraphim88 quoted it states "The official Twitter account for the sprite company revealed on Sunday that the company will cease operations at the end of March, and its "sprite STORE" online store will also close at the same time." Cease operations is not a bankruptcy. In another article it is state that they halted operations. So their financial situation was never so dire that they had to declare bankruptcy instead they decided to stop and sell their brand (Sprite) and the rights to their games. What is left open for interpretation is if they made a loss with Aokana and decided to stop or if they thought that the profit of Aokana was to small for the effort that they put in and considering the trend for the Vn industry (declining) they decided to stop before they make a loss. But I guess it matter little in the grand scheme of things. Here are link to the arcticles I am referring to: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-02-11/aokana-game-maker-sprite-halts-operations-at-end-of-march/.143245 https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-06-26/aokana-game-maker-sprite-halts-operations/.1334191 point -

Visual novel for mac
Rishia reacted to aliciarune for a topic
Sorry to say this, but sadly mac doesn't have many Japanese visual novels for it. In fact, the system itself isn't too good for gaming, especially now with the new update. (However I myself with always stick with mac and love it). One JVN that's pretty good that's on mac is DC Capo 3. You can buy it at Mangagamer's site and steam. Another is the 07 expansion games. These are good stories, but unlike DC Capo, don't have much romance. Also, Fatal Twelve, which is a yuri game is good. I'm sure there are some others, but sadly not many are for mac in terms of JVN's. I believe there may be some more, but DC Capo is a big one alnog with 07 expansion games, which are Higurashi and Umeniko1 point -

Patricia's first H-scene's translation is done, and we're progressing steadily. Basically, 686 out of 8586 lines are done. Rounded up, that's almost 8% done.1 point -

I second ladykiller in a bind. That one was fun, also a passion project by the creator, which really shows. The sono hanabira games allways have a flirty, easy-going romance kinda vibe, yuri and going for a lot of sex as well though. The sakura games go for the same appeal with more tame and fewer sex scenes. Also liked kindred spirits on the roof https://vndb.org/v8508 great character chemistry and lots of different pairings in one game so it doesnt get boring. Dont know if it is my preferences or if yuri games just take that approach towards romance more frequently, I guess both partys being female often gets a different kind of dynamique going than the simple minded approach of a male protagonist towards a female heroine to be conquered. If you are in for the long haul I can recommend daitoshokan no hitsujikai. https://vndb.org/v8158 That one also has some great chemistry towards all of the female leads and very likable characters in general IMO.1 point

It's a lesbian kink game, but Ladykiller in a Bind's dialogue consists almost exclusively of flirting and teasing.1 point

Yeah, I know how you feel fam. The art of teasing and flirting is lost to most writers of vns it seems I'd say Campus Notes: Forget Me Not is something that you'd be into It's got a pretty nice back in forth between multiple smart and interesting characters1 point

I'd recommend Yu-No: The Girl who Chants Love at the Edge of the World (the 2011 English-fan translation of it). It contains many heroines, each with their quirks. Outside those interactions, you'd be in for a good mystery novel about parallel universes, if you're into that genre~ Edit: I just read you're looking for one that's 10 hours or less, that one I suggested is 50+, my bad.1 point
