  2. Okay, finished Acting Lessons (completed all the routes and got all major endings. Didn't bother to uncover every single of little ending variations) It was really good. In addition to what I have already said, I agree that they did the protagonist's male friend thing really well. After hitting bad ending on the first playthrough, the good one was all the more satisfying. This VN surprised me a few times, made me shed some tears, and had some nice comedic bits as well. With 3D EVNs it's really hit and miss, since many of them are just plain nukiges, sex sims etc, but this one is really one of the gems. 8/10

  4. I'm very much interested in creating my own VN, as I've had a large interest in writing for the greater half of my life, but managing the resources for one particularly important aspect of the process is proving a bit difficult; that being the artwork. While my younger years were quite full with aspiring drawings and doodles, I never really took it farther than that. I would need to work toward a tablet and re-learn everything I've forgotten for that to become a possibility, which isn't something I'm averse to, but the idea of hiring actual artists is also appealing. The obvious problem with that being that it would be quite expensive to commission not only several characters, but different emotions/poses for them all as well. Like I said, I wouldn't mind taking the time to fine-tune my illustrative skills to a point on the skill tree that I'm pleased with, but until I have the means (like I said, a tablet, unless I wanted to attempt a visual novel with photographs of pencil drawings...which sounds too Avant garde to be worthwhile) to do so...that brings me to an interesting conundrum... How could a rough draft for a visual novel be written? I've tossed and turned between the idea of starting as much in the program as best I could...but what would that 'best' even look like? If I've progressed to a certain point where I'm pleased with the PNG's I've created, should I painstakingly go back and insert everything in as need be? Of course, at the moment I haven't chosen a proper vessel for my story yet but I do see merit in VN Maker, Renpy, and Tyrano Builder. Surely I couldn't write a rough draft as I would with any other story, hoping for pathways and ideas for dialogue trees to pop up later. I should note that as far as music goes, I'll deal with that myself as well. It's an easier avenue for me to manage, given the tools I have available. However, a visual novel without artwork and images to go by is just a story; and I want to move onto a new avenue since I already know how to write those. Any help is appreciated!

  5. I just finished The Language of Love. It was short, but beautiful - very heartwarming. I wholeheartedly agree with @Plk_Lesiak's review. I liked almost everything about it - Tama's antics, the slow-paced, slightly awkward romance between Mitsuki and Kyouko, very tastefully done H-scene, with nice pillow talk afterwards... And some inspiring thoughts about relationships and life in general thrown here and there (maybe nothing new and unique, but it's nice to be reminded from time to time). Also, I feel like I could relate to a protagonist for a bit - at least when it comes to loneliness, and being awkward at relationships. (Although I am already way older than him...) 8/10 from me. On a side note - the Japanese setting of this VN seems pretty believable, which isn't that often the case when it comes to EVNs from what I gather The only other EVN I read that managed to pull that off was Katawa Shoujo. And then on the other side of the spectrum we have disasters like "No One But You... "

  6. Can relate. My vita is slowly marching towards its death so I've been wary of buying games for it having the chance I may not finish it for technical reasons, so I'm glad for more options.

  7. Ever since I gave up on reading VNs on my vita, I've been dying to get my hands on the Collar x Malice Switch port.

  8. From what I heard, the anime was pretty bad, so it's actually good that it wasn't finished, since most people who wanted to see how it concluded went to the VNs and manga. And I would love to see it readapted by a bigger budget studio, but VNs just aren't that big in Japan anymore to have an adaptation like that. Even if we get a new Umineko anime, most likely it will be just as bad as the previous work. Higurashi is definitely an exception though, considering that it already has a rather popular anime adaptation and how often it's released on different consoles. So, this anime might actually turn out to be good.

  9. It did occur to me in the time since I posted that that GnK might be a good starting novel for people coming from anime. I'm guessing that's probably what happened for them.

I feel like these kind of recommendation sites should be easier to find, for instance the fuwanovel.se site I think mainly only people who were active when it was made and the initial discussion was up for it. Tag the main discussion for some of the recommendation sites out there or make a link on the site or something that is easy to see rather than let it be burried as time progress. Personally I feel like the settup on the fuwanovel.se site is the best and I think it would be pretty cool if it was used more and was worked on more to add new titles and new features etc.

  14. We have an official Ninetail discord as well! Kaede's Corner It's a public server that was made for fans of our games to gather and chat, be it about our games in specific channels or about unrelated things in the general channels. Whether or not it can be considered 'notable' enough to be listed on here, I'm not entirely sure, but it can certainly get pretty active.

    What are you playing?

Well, due to my horrible taste I don't mind tsunderes that switch between the modes in a somewhat predictable and logical pattern. Here we have the case of a girl that switches between very distinctive abusive, boastful and flustered modes literally every other sentence, turning most of her dialogue into a tone-deaf mess. Normal tsundereness seems rather inoffensive in comparison.

Yeah, I know, the walkthrough lists them. But it's pretty cruel (and clever at the same time), that That surprised me. Also,
