  1. Hello, we are Studio YuriEureka. We are a cult dedicated to creating yuri visual novels. We are currently working on a visual novel called Kiss the Demiurge. It's a yuri visual novel about magic, delusions, and regret. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2098600/Kiss_the_Demiurge/ https://vndb.org/v38436 Plot: Kiss the Demiurge follows the story of Minori Nakahashi, a mage who hates magic. As a child, Minori wished to become a magical girl. Just like the heroes she saw on TV, who would use the power of love and courage to fight bad guys. One day, a mysterious voice offered to grant her magic powers and make her dreams come true. The young Minori eagerly accepted the stranger's gift, and was absolutely delighted as magic powers were bestowed upon her. But unfortunately for her, she soon came to realise that the gift of magic was actually a curse, a force of nature far beyond her control. Minori's magic misfired and banished both of her parents from this world. She grew up wracked with guilt and declared that she would atone for her sins by ridding the world of all those who would seek magic. Minori investigates a fire at a local high school that she suspects to have been caused by magic. There, she just so happens to spy a poster advertising a magic club, dedicated to "Studying and spreading magic across the world." The very concept of the club enrages her and she immediately sets off to infiltrate and stamp out the members magical ambitions. Characters: Minori works tirelessly to keep the world safe from magic. She considers herself to be a machine whose personal feelings are irrelevant. But even she has a sensitive side. She feels an intense attraction towards other girls, which she views as nothing more than a distraction from her mission. For now, she either stamps those feelings down or vents them through her collection of yuri manga, her only luxury aside from a stash of alcohol. But as she gets to know the other members of the magic club, her feelings might just boil over and force her to question her views. Akane is the self-proclaimed leader of the magic club. She claims to be descended from an ancient line of magical samurai and will proudly boast of this heritage to anyone who'll listen. She's certain that one day the world will understand her genius and give her family the respect they deserve. But unfortunately for now, she's just an ordinary student. Of course, she doesn't bother to pay much attention in class. After all, she believes that her true magic potential will be unlocked in just a few months, or so she claims. Chitori is a shy fortune teller who would love it if the world would just leave her alone to read manga by herself. But of course the world is not so kind. It is a brutal and nasty place with all sorts of people who would love to interfere with her solitary lifestyle. To avoid such dangers she has invested her time into studying the art of fortune-telling. Whether it's tarot cards, astrology, or a crystal ball, she'll use whatever she can to predict the future and avoid any unwanted surprises. The elegant and beautiful Tomoko claims to be a spirit medium who regularly speaks to the spirits of the dead. She's always eager to help people connect with the spirits of deceased friends and family. Of course, some people doubt her abilities and say that she's just making it up. In fact, some might even say that they find Tomoko's obsession with the dead to be a little disturbing... Progress: Kiss the Demiurge will be releasing late this October. We currently have a demo on Steam, and would love to hear your thoughts on it. The demo is about 18,000 words long, while the full visual novel will have roughly 165,000 words and three routes. We personally prefer visual novels where the reader does not have worry too hard about which route they'll take, so there is only one choice. Please look forward to it!

  2. Yuuna and Miyabi routes playthrough proofreads complete. No more outstanding bugs are obvious. I've committed quite a few proofread typo fixes, and alas there will probably be quite a few that still make it to the final, but overall it's pretty solid now. Tonoko's route was proofread in the lead up to this so it doesn't need proofreading. A quick play-test shows it works fine to the end. That leaves only doing a playthrough proofread of Shino's route, and I can then finalise the patch for release. That should hopefully be done within a week, barring finding any new bugs.

  4. As a teenager, I was looking into games with female MCs. One of them was P3P, where I enjoyed VN segments far more than gameplay. So I looked into VNs to see if I actually enjoy games without gameplay focus. And the rest is history

  6. Finished the second season of Railgun which was pretty awesome, although in quite a different way than the first one. It was a lot more focused and action-filled, with Misaka mostly going on her own and leaving the rest of the crew in pretty much tertiary roles (at least in the first arc, which is massive and goes for 2/3 of the 24 episode season)... Which is not bad, but skips a bit on the things I liked about the first season. The production quality though... It's hard to describe how better the animation and art got in comparison to the early entries in the Index series. Quite excited to see how far the third season of Railgun pushed the whole thing. The problem is, I wanted to catch up a little bit on Index after all, to see more of its side of Misaka's and Accelerator's stories... But holy fuck, after watching Railgun S the original Index series looks HIDEOUS. Characters also feel like infinitely shittier versions of themselves compared to what I've just watched... I'm not sure I can get used to it. :s

  7. Love Cypher vndb | Official Website | Kickstarter | Itch.io Demo "We do not 'come into' this world; rather, we come out of it, like leaves on a tree." In the 2040s, advancements in artificial intelligence have blurred the boundaries between man and machine. Algorithms, computers, and software have all been optimized to the point of understanding individuals more than they do themselves. This technology re-sculpts one's identity, while keeping the individual unaware of their transformation. As a new student at the prestigious Wattasu University, you and your classmates wrestle with this notion, and seek to discover and define their authentic selves - outside of the pervasive influence of technology. Will you rediscover your humanity and find love along the way? Brief Plot Synopsis: You play as Satoru Aimoto - a new student a a prestigious tech University sometime in the near future (2040s). Technology, Machine Learning, and AI have exploded in application and capability in the past few decades - so much so that it's become pervasive and inextricably interwoven in day-to-day life. Love Cypher tells the story of how it can be difficult to come to terms with what it means to live an authentic life - outside of the (oftentimes manipulative) effects of technology. Satoru will attend Wattasu Academy in search of answers to what he ultimately would like out of life in a setting like that. Love Cypher is about understanding, finding, and defining friendship, individuality, love, family, and an authentic self. 4 Routes, each following the story of a different heroine, with multiple endings Partial Voice-Acting Adult (18+) content and artwork. 120k-word Story full of unexpected twists 20+ CGs of memorable story moments Genre: BxG Romance, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Ecchi Rating: 18+ Unlock more content by supporting the project on Kickstarter! As a bonus route, would you like for me to add Sensei or Kazuki? :X Again, please consider taking a look at the Kickstarter if you have a chance, it's kinda flat-lined: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/davidloebman/love-cypher-visual-novel Love Cypher is a standalone R-18 Visual Novel written, coded, and illustrated by me, David L, and features sci-fi ideas and themes I have found philosophically compelling. Sources of inspiration include Alan Watts, Buddhism, Hinduism, theories of the mind and self, and the works of Isaac Asimov. Growing up, I was drawn to art, comics, anime, and telling stories. From DM-ing D&D campaigns to creating my own tarot card deck. I've always loved creating worlds in miniature. As such, making my own game and creating a Visual Novel has turned out to be an ideal fit. Thank you for joining me on this adventure! Staff: Writing, Coding, Art, QA: Just me! 8. Sad that the game didn't make its kickstarter, ngl. Love Cypher really had visuals that even EVN haters had to say "dat look good!!" so it is vexing to me to learn it couldn't get funded. Maybe that is how it is... if you want you can check out the communities Devtalk, LoveVN and LemmaSoft, the latter two we are partnered with and discuss with other developers about marketing strategies, successful projects and network! Good luck for next time, David!

  9. Hey everyone!~ Sadly, I'm here to report that Love Cypher was unable to reach it's funding targets during it's Kickstarter run. As such, the game is on a development hiatus - perhaps until I'm able to muster greater interest in the game. For the foreseeable future, I'll be leaving the game demo up on itch.io, so please give it a go and let me know what you think! In the meantime, I'm creating art for a new game: "Don't Fraud My Heart!", a dating sim about doing your taxes, made entirely in Microsoft Powerpoint. We'll be releasing it for free too! I'm only doing the artwork for this game, not the coding and writing, but if you want to check it out, it's available to wishlist on it's steam store page here: Don't Fraud my Heart! | Steam Store Page

  10. No, they're not consistent. If they were, they wouldn't have let Persona 4 onto Steam; it ambiguously implies MC-kun has sex with his girlfriend(s) if you max her (their) S-links. And they would have updated their "we will allow anything that isn't trolling or illegal" statement to clarify what else they will ban for, since clearly that is not true. Instead, they have attempted to reap the benefits of appealing to the no-censorship absolutist crowd by claiming anything goes, when it's not actually true. They have Standards & Practices (just like every other publisher in existence), they're just lying about it. They'd get flak. First, for merely openly saying they have S&P, the anti-censorship crowd would get all up in arms. Second, the particular standards they have chosen are pretty hilariously inept to boot. They would bar a video game adaptation of Romeo and Juliet or the Bible, in a society where American Pie makes a quarter billion dollars. They want to have their cake and eat it too. They've refused a handful of Western developed games too, like that Pickup Artist "game". Their public "statements" attempting to "justify" their actions, in light of them pretty obviously doing something they made a commitment not to do, are nonsense. They want the benefits of censoring things that might hurt their image, and the benefits of taking an absolutist no-censorship stance. So they have chosen to be dishonest.

  11. It's here! I'm SO GLAD to finally have this. I'd been wanting to buy the physical copy for some months now, but it was kind of hard to justify seeing as I've already read the VN (on Steam), and the asking price was kind of high wherever I could find a copy. However, I started to reconsider, but by then the copies had already begun to run out everywhere I could find them, and I just barely managed to miss the chance to get one when they were being advertised a few weeks ago. I managed to find a copy, though, and jumped on it as quickly as I could, and now it's finally here! . I'd been planning on rereading the common route (as well as the Rise route) before jumping in to W Happiness as an end-of-year treat so this just makes me want to do so even more. The really nice part, too, is that it's not just the VN - there's the artbook and soundtrack as well (two aspects of the VN I really enjoyed): I get the strong feeling that even if Mangagamer do reissue hard copies of PE (like for Kara no Shoujo and ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two), they won't include the artbook and soundtrack. Princess Evangile is my third favorite VN, and one I have a lot of happy memories reading, and I'm really really glad to have it physically. It makes for a great start to my burgeoning VN collection. The next step is to acquire what will most likely be the pride of my collection.

  12. I'm playing Yakuza 0 (on Steam) and there's literally a side-story where a ring of high school girls (led by a bully) are selling their used underwear. There's another side-story where an elementary schooler solicits the adult main character to be his girlfriend, and says she'll "give him her precious thing". And yet another where some punks try to sell a mother and her elementary-school child into prostitution. So, uh, yeah. Keep in mind: Sony NA is giving some of these titles a pass, while Valve isn't. So yes, Valve being stricter than Sony--while simultaneously carrying actual porn--is headline-worthy.

  13. Might wanna also clarify that this is not a full-length adaptation but simply a one off special that will air during the New Year's Eve stream Type-Moon always does.
