  2. [Tool] Sugoi Offline Translator Repackage The following are some repackages I did to strip down Sugoi Offline Translator v4.0 to only the barebones essentials but filled with as many features as possible from the available sources. Disclaimers Sugoi Toolkit Repackage Description fairseq and CTranslate2 PyTorch AMD graphics cards Microsoft DirectML HTTP servers available for fairseq/CTranslate2 Notes on the repackages (Windows only) Converting to the CTranslate2 model format Pick one of the following. - DL https://mega.nz/folder/ZORBTLAS#f2G4ih7crgWIN-_uSjbqAA - The different repackage versions have - Support for the Sugoi v4.0 offline model. - Support for the fairseq and CTranslate2 inference libraries. This includes CPU, CUDA, and/or DirectML support. - Support for py3translationServer since their documentation is the most readable. - A preconfigured batch script to configure an isolated local environment. Repackage Option A) Sugoi-Repackage-CUDA.7z - Description - Normal and most flexible version recommended for most users. Supports both fairseq and CTranslate2 using both CPU and CUDA 11 or 12. - Has a reasonable download+install time. - Does not include PyTorch or the Sugoi model. - Sugoi-Repackage-CUDA-Full.7z is the same as "Sugoi-Repackage-CUDA.7z", but comes bundled with PyTorch CUDA 11.8 and the other dependencies which bloats the compressed size from <100MB to ~2.48 GB. Since setup has been done already and it includes the both versions of the models. Sugoi-Repackage-CUDA installation instructions Sugoi-Repackage-CUDA-Full installation instructions Repackage Option B) Sugoi-Repackage-CPU.7z - Description - This version is for the bandwidth and GPU impaired that know they will only be using CPU inferencing. It supports only CTranslate2 + CPU. - If you know your GPU will not work with CUDA 11.x, then this is the best option. - Has the fastest download+install time. - Does not need PyTorch at all, thus saving lots of space and bandwidth! - The model is not included. - The model must be in CTranslate2 format. Sugoi-Repackage-CPU Installation instructions: Repackage Option C) Sugoi-Repackage-DirectML.7z - Description - This version is for gamblers who want to roll the dice with Microsoft DirectML on Windows 10 1903+. - Read "DirectML" above and then use something else. - Does not include PyTorch or the model. - Do not expect anything to avoid the inevitable disapointment. Only sometimes works with fairseq ...for now. - This PyTorch-DirectML repackage is provided as-is. No support is provided here if it does not work or breaks later. - If it does not work, I do not care. If Microsoft does not care about supporting their library, then why should I? Sugoi-Repackage-DirectML Install Guide: Repackage Option D) Sugoi-Repackage-Global - Description - These are the same scripts as above but slightly tweaked to use the global git and Python interpreter. I have not tested these much. Sugoi Model Links Linux users Windows 7 and 8 not so Frequently Asked Questions Licensing

  3. Visual Novel Translation Status (05/07/2016) This time I'd must admit that I'd had hard time to find fitting title for this week, so since there's a VN with post war setting and another VN with Yoake (Meaning Dawn in Japan) word release, I'd decided to use poetic word 'Dawn After the War'. Anyway, even though I made poetic title for this week VNTS Review, actually the inspiration title for this week kinda mediocre. For Yoake one, actually it was some short dark yuri nukige which according to Decay the size was at 9 GB, which to said the size was too big (Although maybe SakuSaku from same year (2014) release was also at 9 GB for the game file though, but at least it's justified for quite beautiful art). The rating at VNDB this time was quite high (Average at 8.01 and Bayesian at 7.36, although the voter might had particular taste though). Well, I guess this VN would be good for dark yuri nukige fan though. For post war VN, actually it was inspired from the anime which some people called 'K-On on Military' just because the girl design was cute. Anyway, for some who curious here's MAL page for the anime itself (So Ra No Wo To), and I would suggest instead of searching PSP Emulator or something like that, just watch the anime should be enough (Although I didn't knew if there is new content on the translated VN itself though). For the 3rd release, didn't knew much other than it as from same creator as Tokyo School Life. Okay, after commenting the release for this week (Which compared to April when we got many big release was quite bland), this week was also quite plain to be honest ie not much happening other than some progress. After JAST released Seinarukana (And Steam version for later months), as expected there's not much progress from them. For Mangagamer, as usual we must wait for another week here and we had one certain news that Mangagamer will release The House of Fata Morgana next week. I'd knew that this VN had some people who like the art, hope it'll satisfied the people who like gothic art and unusual character design though. Also I'd heard that the story was also had horror element here. Since Tay also made a remark about ChuSinGura Kickstarter failure, might as well report it that right now they managed 9,368 out of 160,000 (I'll need to write the number for the reminder here just in case it'll be change next week). Speaking about Kickstarter, actually it was from last week but I'd forgot to report that Libra managed to had the common route 100% translated and it mean that they'll move to heroine's route (I don't know if they'll deliver the release for either Halloween or November though). One last thing, because I'd also forgot to mention Frontwing will release Corona Blossom for English speaker first last week, my comment here it would be interesting I guess, although for now I'd only knew that the people behind design character was also responsible for Grisaia character design and their own 'Hunie Pop' girl thing. Sekai Project The only legal company which had the progress this week. Anyway, Maitetsu this week was moving slowly by 0.85%, WEE Episode 3 touched 70% (71.54% to be exact), Darekoi at 64.24%, and Memory Dogma at 13.15%. Well, not much other than Maitetsu and WEE was had some nice progress here (Although Maitetsu was slowing down). Although for Memory Dogma and Darekoi I didn't follow them much though, but nice progress I suppose. And one more thing, they didn't show the progress for Tenshin Rahman and Chrono Clock this week. Fan Translation First of all, I'm sorry to said this but Dergonu was decided to stall his project because his real life circumstance. Hopefully he'll be able to get through his circumstance and he'll be able to translating it just like what he want in the future after once again he finished his circumstance. Anyway, let's move to the update. For Kiminozo we had Akane route transalted. Actually, from some source that I'd read Muv Luv was supposed to be spin off for Kiminozo. Who knew that Muv Luv franchise which grew bigger into Cash Cow Franchise for age was started from Kiminozo in the first place. Anyway, for more history lesson Kiminozo also had dubbed and the anime was get the Western name 'Rumbling Heart'. I'd heard that Kiminozo had some sort of depressive ending and VNDB categorize it as Utsuge. This might be good, although if you want very happy ending don't play this game. Astral Air, well after one week update absence they managed to had another update this week at 76.06%. For SakuSaku, this week the TLC was at 100%, although the release might be still not very soon though but hopefully this year. For the last update, congratulations for big jump for translating Izumi route at Clover's Day (12% to 50%), ittaku and thanks for your effort. Other than nice progress, I think not much comment needed for now. I think that's all for this week VNTS Review.

  4. Visual Novel Translation Status (04/30/2016) Kinda want to do seiyuu joke for this week, so since the featured image header (One of 4 image actually) was Moribe Jun in Root Double, who also had same seiyuu as Kawakami Kazuko back in Majikoi, so I decided for the title because Jun was firefighter and Kazuko nickname was Wanko, I'd made 'Wanko as Firefighter' for the review title. Anyway, this is definitely not a fanfiction of how Wanko will became firefighter in Kawakami city, but usual VNTS review for this week. For the release, Aselia was already censored even back when fan translated, so I think it's already played and discussed to the death or in other word obsolete. Ozmafia, well even otome was once again not my interest but congratulations for Mangagamer first otome release. The story of Ozmafia was something like amnesiac cute MC (I admit that I look forward to otome game MC face though. Oh, her name was Fuuka) was trapped in the place when there is many mafia family fighting each other to the death, and Fuuka must had to seek refuge with one mafia family that hopefully she could trust. Corpse Party, well it had voice obviously but too bad the seiyuu is not the famous one though just like in PSP version, just indie seiyuu. But I think if some of you like horror and didn't had PSP (Or you had hard time to use PSP Emulator), go ahead and play it. For the last relese, I'll comment below (In case some of you didn't get it from the first paragraph, it was obviously Root Double). As expected, Mangagamer really did update for each 2 weeks. And I think for this week we had another good week after Seinarukana sudden release last week. Let's start my wrap up from Fan Translation here. Fan Translation Well, this time AstralAir didn't had progress this week as usual (Or maybe this week VNTS came too fast, and if Chuee update it I'll add it here). For Bishoujo Mangekyou, this week we had 5 out of 8 script translated, and Arcadeotic said it was around 70%. Although I didn't follow it, Angel Beats at this week was at 41.93% although I'm still waiting for Key to release full version though. For Dergonu's project (I'll reference this as Tsui Yuri for next review), congratulations for finally getting good TLC and for the progress it was at 12%. I think as for this week Fan Translation section was kinda plain, although I'm waiting for Tuesday since akerou supposed to give major update in regard of his progress (Although I didn't know if it would be good or bad though, but hopefully good obviously). Oh, and I'd almost forget that this week Ittaku really released another beta patch for ToHeart2, and he decided to had FredtheBarber also editing twin's route (At this time, ToHeart 2 was edited 75%). Mangagamer Once again, looks like my prediction that Mangagamer will had update every 2 weeks was proved right. So, for Mangagamer progress recap, here's the list below. Kuroinu was at 55% translated MYTH was 100% translated and in scripting Imopara 2 was 44% translated Evangile W was half translated Pygmalion was 86.73% translated DaCapo 3 was 90% translated and 83.4% edited Bokuten was 92% translated and 73.75% translated Tatarigoroshi now being ported Well, the progress for 3 most interesting VN (Pygmalion, DaCapo3, and Bokuten) was very good if I must said to Mangagamer. As for Tatarigoroshi (Oh, by the way Tatariogoroshi was one part of Higurashi in case some of the reader here confused what Tatarigoroshi mean), looks like they'll release it in close date and with that it'll be another part of Higurashi that will had voice patch in the future. And Tatarigoroshi is the part when Higurashi story start to form itself, or so I'd read somewhere. Other than that, there's not much to comment here. Sekai Project For Tenshin Rahman and Chrono Clock, well maybe if the progress was updated regularly I'll keep eye to both of it. Maitetsu was at 12.11% translated for this week and WEE episode 3 was at 64.24% translated for this week. It'll be definitely good news for WEE fans, although Maitetsu progress was slowed down again this week after we had quite nice progress from last weeks. Other than that, I think not much from Sekai translation progress. The most exciting news this week was definitely Root Double release. I'm actually kind of want to see it translated from the moment I read GundamAce posts in Animesuki and Gamefaqs back at 2012, and he said that it was equal to Ever17 according to him (And he swear that he'll definitely translated it). So, from the moment I'd see him founded Lemnisca Translation I'd remember that I'm always following his I/O, Secret Games and 12Riven translation because he said that he'll finally translated Root Double after he finished with all of those 3 games. Although the way of got Root Double here was a bit different and had slightly more controversial, it was definitely worth of waiting. As of now I'll still waiting for Root Double to be available on my laptop, and then I'll write my first impression. For Decay's review, actually I think it's okay though since review should be taken as personal feeling of the work instead of the whole community opinion. And of course you should once again form your opinion based on the game by yourself alone, not by the review itself. For example, according to VNDB I/O was one of GundamAce best VN while Decay only give score 7.7, so I think once again review was like something personal opinion, although I also see the point that it may affect some of the people who want to play it though if they only read the score and not the substance. Okay to be honest I said this because I'd had more face-palm reading the reaction from Decay's review at Gamefaqs forum rather than the review itself. And one last thing I would said is that at least Decay didn't review it badly because it didn't had gameplay section just like some certain Tokyo Babel review. I think that's all I could write for this VNTS review for this week.

  5. On first launch the patched VN still requires a CD - past first launch it does not. I believe at this moment that is still the latest version of the patch.
