Crescendo - Old game, still good - 8/10
Infernoplex and one other reacted to LostPomegranate for a blog entry
I originally read Crescendo nearly 20 years ago at the time of writing this review, and I decided to reread it. The only thing I could clearly remember going into the reread was that I got emotional during the first read. Well...it's still got it. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a well written pretty believable emotional story. There are some topics touched on that will upset some people. If you're sensitive to the following you may want avoid this VN: moderate to heavy spoilers very heavy spoiler Systems are about as standard as you'd expect from a VN that was released in the early 00's. The OST is actually really good and uses many Scott Joplin classical songs. Voice acting was also pretty good, especially given the age of the VN. Only frustrations really come from it being 640x480 so it's either in a small window or a weird full screen unless you upscale it yourself - which I would recommend doing using something like magpie if you have a larger monitor. The writing here is good with no real lulls in the story, so even though it's a 10 or so hour read, there's not really any wasted fluff reading. A lot of the story is told through flashbacks as the characters recall their time in high school as they (MC and some heroines) are graduating in a few days. I personally appreciated this storytelling method as it also helped give a sense of time passing through the various stories rather than everything just being done in a whirlwind 4 days. Characters are believeable in their motivations and actions, which brings weight to the story. I personally enjoyed every heroine, but they each had their flaws as well, which just made them feel more human. I'm not going to go into the routes themselves in detail as they would be difficult to discuss completely spoiler free. I don't really think there's any obvious outlier routes in regards to writing quality present in Crescendo, all of the routes are well written and have their arguments. For those of you wondering how sad it gets on the nakige / utsuge front to help you decide whether you want to read it: I'd recommend this VN to anyone who likes well written emotional stories.2 points -
Angraecum Scramble Review - Top 10 Best Rated VNs Translated at 2018
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to my top 10 list of translated VNs for 2018, and I think it's the right time to make this seeing that 2019 is almost come. As for the rule, there's no yaoi, otome, fandisc (ie Fata Morgana fandisc), and re-release (Konosora and Chaos Child). As for my list here, my taste here is quite personal so I'm sorry if some of your favorite titles didn't available here. Here's my list of top 10 translated VNs for this year, and I hope that you'll enjoy it. As for the score currently I'm based on the VNDB average score at June 10th, 2025, although it may be change in the future seeing that the scores is often fluctuated. 10. Hapymaher (VNDB 7.41, Erogamescape 78) While I did admit that I was interested with this VN because of the costumes that the girls wear in the dream, I also can see that the costumes here is quite sexy so much that it did distract the reader's attention from the real meat of this VN which is the mind screw story that have some nakige element. I understand that the distraction may be deliberate, but it's still a waste though to have that kind of sexy costumes considering that this isn't nukige lol. As for the premise, it was in regard of the MC Tohru Naito who is burdened by his past that he was lost his family, so much that he can't rest because he did have lucid dream every night that he keep felt awaken in the dream. One night he saw two mysterious girls Alice and Maia, with the former was trying to help Tohru while the latter keep doing something bad. From there Tohru keep trying to find the solution to his own problem, while Maia somehow keep dragging the other girls into Tohru's dream. Since this VN involving people entering dream, what I can say is that it would be better to just enjoy the show instead of keep thinking seriously of how is that even plausible because it'll be hurt you head if you think it. Oh and almost forget to say that Hapymaher here did have Alice in Wonderland theme. 9. Sorcery Jokers (VNDB 7.43, Erogamescape 79) The first 2018 release from Mangagamer that was announced back at Otakon 2016, and it's setting was in regard of a city which got some magic user that was exist after years ago when the magic was suddenly came to the existence. While at the first glance it made people felt more content seeing that they manage to a normal life, beneath that there's some secret plan happening and it affected the life of several people. Two of those people are Senri (The magic using criminal) and Mutsumi Haruto (Ordinary school boy), and from there they'd try to understand more about what's happening around them in which they may need have a hard time to do that. As for the MCs each of the MC got two heroines each, and yeah I did say it in plural because in Sorcery Jokers we'll going to have two MCs (The aforementioned Haruto and Senri). That said, since this VN involving some combat and world building we won't see much romance at least until you finished the VN, and for more info this VN is a linear one with the feature that you need to unlock the scenes first. Also while there's only two MCs occasionally we also can see the perspective from three other heroines (The fourth heroine didn't have POV), or to put it simply it's like 11eyes Cross Vision system. Speaking about Haruto, I did hear that his 'not playing fair' catchphrase is annoying although I would say that Haruto here is overshadowed by far more cool Senri, and that you can slightly understand there's a reason of why Haruto is like that if you know the twist (The twist remind me of Tales of the Abyss's own twist). 8. Fureraba ~Friend to Lover~ (VNDB 7.61, Erogamescape 81) The first time I find this VN was through the opening song, in which I did hear it when I'm binged Astral Air opening. One time I let my Youtube video player to play next video in the play list, and it happen that one of the video was Fureraba opening in which I'd find it addictive because it's sounds melancholic. Anyway after I'd hear the opening I search about the VN, and turned out that it's a VN from Smee in which back then there's no hope to be translated even though I'm quite interested with that. At least until Nekonyan did their debut and announced Fureraba as their first title, in which they'd release it quickly at the same month that they promised (March). As for Fureraba, while the opening sounds melancholic actually the game itself is full of humor so we can say that it got some mismatch lol. The premise is simple though that namely it's about Kyousuke (The MC) who strife get his girlfriend, and that you must accomplish it through the small talks between the heroines. As for the heroines, there's estranged childhood friend, best friend, very rude classmate, and very shy popular senior girl. Overall I did enjoy this VN and if you want more Smee VNs, there'll be more considering that Nekonyan picked Making Lovers. 7. Maitetsu (VNDB 7.68, Erogamescape 77) Since the heroines here are designed to look like child, Lose was afraid of the ban for overseas release so much that they censored panty shot in the VN as well. That said, it's still fair enough compared to what Pulltop did to Miagete because at least Sekai also released the 18+ patch for this in that it unlock the sex scenes if you didn't mind with it. Nowadays there's also the patch to restore the censored contents, so censored contents shouldn't be an issue anymore. For the premise here, we got out MC Soutetsu who suffer train accident in his childhood come back to his hometown in order to save the town from the potential water pollution thanks to the plan to build an aircraft factory. Some time later, he find a doll which turned out to be an android known as Raillord which supposed to control the train, and seeing that Soutetu got an idea to revive the train so that the town didn't need to depend on the factory as income source of the town. By the way the Raillords here are pretty much the train's life, so it's understandable if you asking about the setting if you heard it first. The questionable setting and early controversy aside, Maitetsu here did have a lot of technical talk about train itself. 6. Evenicle (VNDB 7.69, Erogamescape 82) The first attempt from Alicesoft to make new franchise now that they already ended Rance franchise, although both of Evenicle and Rance did share some of it's lore though. As for the VN story itself, it's self contained enough considering the scope was covering of the whole Evenicle world instead of a part of the whole world like Rance, although judging from the sequel we may have many different worlds for Evenicle series setting though. As for the first Evenicle premise, it's in regard of Aster who want to marry both of his childhood friend only to be stopped by the rule that man can only have one wife unless he became the knight. So Aster decide to become the knight in order to be able to marry both, and from there he met several other women who one way or another become his wives while at the same time he face several enemies who based on Seven Deadly Sins. As for the gameplay I think it's like the combination of Final Fantasy 4 with fixed five party members with specified roles, and Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of Light with battle system that based on 5 BP that will regenerate by one per turn (Also with the Seven Deadly Sins). Overall I did find that Evenicle here is quite good. 5. Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road (VNDB 7.69, Erogamescape 78) I did repeatedly say that it'll be better if we didn't expect Majikoi from this seeing that both premises are already different, but seeing that the tone is the same along with the fact that there's Takahiro who is infamously have big influence in each of his credited works, it's hard to say that it's not like Majikoi here. So perhaps the right word for Tsujidou here is 'Majikoi but no Majikoi', in which I know it's hard to understand but at least I'm certain that Tsujidou here will be full of comedy. Anyway the premise is that our Hiroshi who is far more normal compared to Majikoi's MC did spot the beautiful delinquent at his class Tsujidou Ai (The main heroine) did looking cute while pick a cat, and from there both of Hiroshi and Ai sort of in relationship for a while. At the same time, Ai was dubbed as one of the three strong delinquent in their territory along with two other heroines (Renna and Maki). For more info, this is the second Tsurezure's work that in which Trip didn't like Maki to put it lightly and said that Hiroshi here is worse compared to HatsuKoi's Yuuma. Even so, they still managed to finish Tsujidou and I'm sure that most people who've been looking forward to this would be grateful, so I appriciate their work on this even with the fact that Trip dislike this. 4. Island (VNDB 7.77, Erogamescape 82) Frontwing 15th anniversary project, and instead of ask four writers like back at Grisaia this time they decided to ask Goo to write this, so it's normal if we expect some sci-fi from this considering that Goo did write Himawari who is also known for some sci-fi element. As for the premise, it was in regard of Setsuna who at first didn't remember his name until a girl with the name Rinne call him with that name, and so Setsuna decided to go with it and helping Rinne while at the same time try to understand his own self. We also have the setting that there's a legend that Rinne here is one part of the three families in an isolated island, and that there's a rumored curse that was supposed to be happened because of apparent past mistakes that was done by supposed Setsuna's and Rinne's ancestors. Almost forget that like Tsujidou you can have a romance with the three family daughters, although since this is all age VN obviously we wouldn't have sex scenes (At least Yukari Tamura as Rinne here is more than enough tradeoff lol). Like Grisaia, Frontwing also adapt Island into anime and it should be good if for the conclusive ending only (The anime was kind of rushed though), while at the same time the VN was ended in slightly less conclusive note. 3. Sanoba Witch aka Sabbat of the Witch (VNDB 7.84, Erogamescape 80) Back at last year I did thought that Sekai will bring more Yuzusoft VNs, and turned out I was wrong because the one who release it first was Nekonyan. Also to elaborate more Senren Banka license was moved from Sekai to Nekonyan, leaving Sekai with Tenshin Ranman and Dracu Riot in which both of those are frozen so any chance for near future release is small. So let me redact my statement by saying that there'll be more Yuzusoft VN in the future because Nekonyan have Senren Banka. Anyway as for Sanoba's premise here it's about of how love that was started from masturbation, and it make sense in the context. Or if you want to be concise it's about our MC Shuuji who can perceive the emotion saw Nene who was masturbate in the library which turned out it's because of her witch contract that cause the horniness, and Nene sign the contract in order to fulfill her wish just like Madoka. While they say witch, I would say that magical girl here is more fitting to Sanoba but then again both of those are almost the same. For more info, this is the first officially localized Yuzusoft VN while at the same time the third (The second if you still wait for Dracu Riot official release) translated Yuzusoft VN, and once again there'll be more in the future thanks to Nekonyan. 2. Flowers -Le Volume sur Été- (VNDB 8.34, Erogamescape 81) Also known as Flowers Summer, and the most interesting JAST release at this year out of their three releases to me, with their other two releases are Schatten and Sweet House. As for the premise, once again it's shoujo ai VN telling the story of a tall and beautiful girl, Suoh, who is painfully shy attend Saint Angraecum in order to improve herself, and currently suffer some heartbreak after the drama from Flowers Spring happened. Thus our snarky wheel chaired girl Yaegaki Erika took unto herself as Suoh's fellow fan of literature to help Suoh to recover and become the MC of this VN, and obviously we'll going to see of how Erika will handle her own problem in which she did find a new friend with the name Takasaki Chidori who'll later become her soulmate. Since this is the second part of tetralogy, obviously there'll be two more parts in which as of now JAST was working on the third part and hopefully they'll work on the fourth part (Which will conclude Suoh's story) later. Oh yes, unlike Flowers Spring this time there's no controversies in regard of the bad translation, so good job to the translator. Also there are some known anime VAs voicing the characters in here, namely Kaori Nazuka (Suoh's VA), Aya Suzaki (Chidori's VA), and Sakura Ayane (Erika's VA). 1. 428 ~Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de~ aka 428: Shibuya Scramble (VNDB 8.35 Erogamescape 84) Currently the only VN that got Famitsu score 40/40 in which in term of video game it would be a big accomplishment (Only 25 games as of 2017), and obviously it mean that Shibuya Scramble here would be a subject of hype. Although as for that, I think the hype was pretty much justified seeing that this VN is quite unique because instead of usual anime like drawing, the creator decided to use photograph which mean that it's obviously will cost a lot. As for the premise, it start simple enough with a detective was tasking into resolve the kidnapping case by giving the ransom money to the kidnapper. Of course things turn out to be not as simple as the first look, and so the detective decided to unravel what's really happening behind the kidnapping. Other than the detective, there's four other characters who somehow are involved in the kidnapping case and you'll going to see from the perspectives of all of those characters so essentially we'll going to have five MCs. Other than PS4, Shibuya Scramble was also out for PC so you can play it if you didn't have PS4, although you can only use the keyboard to play it. Almost forget that if you like Canaan anime, you should check Shibuya Scramble here seeing that this VN is the prequel for the anime itself. As for of the VNs at this year, I would say that with Nekonyan being aggressive looks like it'll be possible that we can get more VNs title. Although of course the situation can be change though because it's still up to the company whether they can release it or not, and we know that the company situation could be easily changed. With this year was almost close, let's look forward to 2019 later with more potential VNs release. PS - As for the title, I'm just combined Flowers school place setting (Saint Angraecum) with Shibuya Scramble, so we got 'Angraecum Scramble' for the title although of course there's no big scrambling zebra cross in the school in Flowers like back at Shibuya.1 point -
Star in the Shell Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week, and as for the title I'll explain it in PS. For this week, let's just say that we have Shiravune being very active for an easy word with them had a number of announcements. Other than Shiravune, Nekonyan also has some news to share, although unfortunately it's not in regard of their releases yet. Lastly, we obviously still have some updates from fan translation. Overall, let's just say that this week is an almost below average one and let's see what I can write in regard of it. This week we have Tsuma Netori is at a quarter edited, 225 lines of Fate/Extra CCC main script has been edited, ChuSingura is at 25.9% translated, Tsukihime Remake Ciel's Route Day 13 has been finalized along with Day 14 of it has been fully edited, and Akagoei FD is at 48.28% edited. I know there's also Koiyasumi release as well, although I'll save the talk for next VNTS Review. We also have Rewrite Harvest Festa partial patch release that Amaterasu did work on (For the info initially it's Amaterasu 9th project before they're disappear), and the patch did contain full translation for all of the routes along with translate the beginning part of Rewrite Quest (The RPG minigame in Harvest Festa). In case you've been waiting for this ever since Sekai announce it (With them currently struggling with the editing work) and just want to read the story, then feel free to try the patch. While we know that Sol Press has financial problem when it come to the tax, turned out that the problem is far worse than we thought, especially with them didn't manage to pay the royalty for Tinkle Position (ie Onikiss developer). Since Sol Press has been suspended from doing business, naturally Onikiss license has been indirectly stopped and thus there's no way to get the royalty. With that circumstance, Nekonyan decided to help them by took over the license for Onikiss, and they planned to re-release it in the near future. Well, initially they want to release it in last Friday, although there are some unavoidable circumstances so they need to delay it for a while. Honestly speaking while Kara no Shoujo trilogy announcement from Shiravune is good news, I can't help but think that the announcement for the first two title is redundant, especially with almost no change in the second part. Granted arguably the first part has a number of improvement compared to what Mangagamer released in 2011, but even then there's a patch that add Mangagamer's translation into newer version of the first part (And also the second part), and thus the first two parts are redundant even with the new version and translation (Lemnisca is responsible for the retranslation work) on top made it available on Steam. If anything else, at least it mean that they have the license for the long awaited third part, so you can just wait for it to be released. Speaking of release, Shiravune already have the exact release date for the first part, and it'll be on July 28th later. They'll also release Nukitashi on 23rd and Dungeon Travelers 2 duology on Friday later. Other than Kara no Shoujo trilogy, they also have White Album, as if the first White Album that has no relation with WA2 (If I remember right, WA2 only has mention the first WA heroines in the beginning), and for the info they'll release PS3 backport version which as we know has no sex scenes. For the premise, it's about our MC Touya who's been in relationship with the upstart idol Morikawa Yuki, although thanks to her popularity their relationship has been pulled apart, so Touya need to be either tried his best to maintain their relationship or perhaps find someone else. It should be mentioned that while it eventually spawn the well received WA2 and it also has love triangle story, it won't be as dramatic as WA2. There's still no plan on when Shiravune release WA, although looking at the Steam store it'll be on Q3 of this year (ie between July to September). I also know that WA has fan translation project, so I'll just wait and see for both. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - Since we have Kara no Shoujo trilogy announcements with the direct translation of it is 'Girl in the Shell' (By the way Shiravune localize the title as 'The Shell' which to say is very generic) and White Album announcement, I make the parody of Kara no Shoujo translated title with I change 'Girl' into 'Star' (Because WA has idol and the most well known idol anime is Oshi no Ko with the title can be translated as 'My Star'), so we have 'Star in the Shell' as the title.1 point -
My Cousin Can't Be This Cute Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (01/03/2021) Welcome to first VNTS Review for 2021, and as for the title I'll tell it at PS. As for this week after a busy week, this time it's quite calm. Although we still have some updates though, in that once again most of those are from fan translation section. Speaking about fan translation, we have Oreimo VN for PSP being released so at least we have a release from fan translation, Other than that, we have the usual updates from Nekonyan here. Overall I guess I can say that this week is quite good, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Verdellish did a good progress on Slow Damage, and as for current progress it's at a quarter translated. This week JAST did announce another Empress VN named Closed Game. Normally when you hear Empress it could only mean the developer of infamous Starless, and you're right if you think that. As for Closed Game, it did have some talk about on how Earth people are suffering very much while the people of the heaven (It called Caelum Urbs here) are prosper, and that situation make the lower people being desperate to going to Caelum Urbs. Of course there's a way to make it possible, and that through a killing game with the prize that anyone who survive would become Caelum Urbs citizen. Knowing Starless, of course we'll going to have a lot of sexual contents in the game along with some murder (Duh), or if I make some comparison it would be like euphoria (It shouldn't be a coincidence that Izumi Ban'ya (One of euphoria writer) wrote the scenario here). Well at least it has Seishoujo art which to say quite nice looking, and that JAST will release this at this year later. Not my interest, but at least you can look forward to it if you like the arts. Muv Luv Unlimited - The Day After was delayed to 2021, which to say not surprising at all. Well I guess the staffs need more time to polish the release, so good luck on that. From Nekonyan we have Kirikoi was at 78% edited along with 5% in QA, 1st secret project was at 67% translated along with 30% edited, 2nd secret project was at 35% translated, and Clover Days was at 90% edited along with them currently working on porting the engine. As for their next releases, for now it's pretty obvious that we won't get either Kirikoi or Clover Days as this month releases, although I can hope that Nekonyan will release those two at this year. Lastly we also have the engine porting for Dracu Riot will started shortly, so at least it should be a good news to anyone else who waiting for Nekonyan's version of Dracu Riot. We have quite a number of updates from fan translation at first week of 2021 here, so let's round it up first. As of now Shin Koihime Musou was at 39% edited, Pure x Connect reach 10,000 lines edited milestone (10,482 lines) along with 19,232 lines translated, 40 scripts of Majikoi A-4 were fully translated, Yuuna's route at Harugi was at 80% translated along with Sumika's route was at 11% translated and Misaki's route was at 21% translated, Chaos Head Noah was at 52.85% translated with common route was at 36.43% translated and Nanami's route was at 70.25% translated (Note that it's just first pass translation, so even if Chaos Head Noah is fully translated it still need two more translation pass), and Eustia was at 59.38% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 35.40% TLC-ed along with some increase on Eustia's chapter was at 5.38% TLC-ed (More importantly Eustia did get a new staff to do TLC work, so hopefully the TLC can be more efficient). As for Oreimo itself, I know that it's about the ordinary high school MC (Kyousuke) who has a little sister (Kirino) who perfect at everything while at the same time her ego is being fragile. Naturally at first the relationship being her and Kyousuke is quite distant, until one day when Kyousuke find out that Kirino like to play little sister eroge and thus it reveal that actually Kirino here is a brocon in which after that the relationship between the siblings started to change for the better. Other than that, I know that some people didn't like it presumably because of the romance with little sister along with Kirino's fragile ego, and that the fans didn't like the canon heroine. Anyway for Oreimo VN itself it's seven years old project that I rarely paid attention, although at least the original creator also involved in here unlike Saekano VN. If you're a fans of Oreimo and you want to play the VN in order to have Kyousuke romancing non-canon heroine, go play it and have fun. Oh yes technically it's console only VN because it's only released for PSP, although seeing that nowadays good PSP emulator is easy to search you can play this on PC. That's all for my first VNTS Review in 2021 here, and sorry for being late. See you next week. PS - As for the title since we have Oreimo release, I decided to parodied the English title of it by making the title called out that his cousin is cute, so we have 'My Cousin Can't Be This Cute' as this week VNTS Review. Another reason here is because Ayana Taketatsu (Kirino's VA) did act as cousin character (Suguha) in Sword Art Online, so I make the VA joke as well.1 point -
Fure Fure Herbalist Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/10/2018) About the title, since we have Fureraba release back at March 30th and in this week only release we have herbalist female MC at otome VN The Bell Chime for Gold, I decided to parodying this dorama because we fure from Fureraba (TL Note: Fure mean cheer in Japanese), so we have 'Fure Fure Herbalist' as the title for this week with herbalist part is from Bell Chime - by the way the image header for this week was interestingly depicted five heroes for Bell Chime as inept adventurer party. Okay, as for this week to tell the truth it was pretty anemic in regard of fewer update, but if we think positively perhaps this week we have a break after many good releases from last two weeks (ie Tsujidou, Konosora retranslation, and Fureraba). Let's see what I can write for this week as well. No major update from Mangagamer other than the reminder that we'll gonna have Supipara Chapter 2 released at Thursday or Friday depending on the timezone, and also we got Koropukkur successfully funded at 37,093 funded. Well too bad though that we can't get Koropukkur voiced because they still didn't have enough money gathered for that (They need to reach 80,000 fund gathered for that), but at least it should be enough for now. Also for additional note, as expected there's no backer for the most expensive pledge (At 7,500), because the reward was too exaggerated - I mean eating dinner with the illustrator was surely sounds out there, and besides I think people would be more interested to have dinner with idol singer (Although to me both of those are waste a lot of money though). As for Sekai, other than Bell Chime, there's no interesting update from them. For Bell Chime itself, the premise was looks like a parody of the usual otome in which we have the female MC who is a herbalist work very hard in order to gain money, and after that she'll using the money to buy his boyfriend which coincidentally consist of five poor man who have a lot of debt. So more or less it's subvert very usual otome in which rather than pure love, the MC here need money to solve his love problem. Forgot to say that the heroes are not as handsome as usual otome VN heroes XD, and more importantly this is another otome VN that have sex scenes. Other than Bell Chime release, we have Nekonin 2 was in QA which mean that it's already fully translated and edited, and 2236 was already finished the QA so it's good to know that Sekai still willing to release this even though 2236 was already released for overseas by the developer themselves. After one week with no update, we finally have another update from Newton VN with Emmy's route was at 23% translated and Haru's route was fully translated. Still no update in regard of Sakusakura though, so hopefully we'll get more on that at this month. No comment for Harem Guild other than the translation was about to be finished by April, and also the official release would be redundant) because Quof already released this back as fan translated patch. In case you're willing to wait for Tayutama 2 release, apparently it's about to be released at this month according to the Steam store (Might be just placeholder month though), but seeing that there's many issue surrounding the release (Bad translation, bad public relation, and the prequel is still untranslated) I'm not quite interested with this. We have some sort of plan for Fureraba fandisc release, in which it'll be somewhere around autumn, and they said that it'll be depend on whether Sanoba translation will coming along well or not later (NekoNyan's tweet for the proof). As for the release plan from Other section, we'll have Chuusotsu release at 24th later. For fan translation more or less it's just usual update but before going on the updates, let me report that right now we have Motoka's route from Yosuga no Sora was at 51.62% translated - I forgot to report it last week. For the updates we have Eustia was at 38.93% translated and 26.56% edited, Higurashi Tsukiotoshi arc was at 87% translated, Musumaker was at 51.7% translated, Pure Pure Chapter 4 (Or rather I'll call it Hinata's route from now on) was at 69.72% translated and overall was at 70% translated, Shin Koihime Musou was at a quarter edited, Witch Garden was at 43% translated, and we have Harugi's (Or KaniShino's) prologue was at 41% (742 lines) translated along with 492 lines TLC-ed. That's all for this week, and yeah we have quite belated VNTS here. See you next week, or hopefully next Monday at the latest if all goes well.1 point -
The Clovers of War Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Foreword - There's no VNTS for this week as well (In three weeks straight nevertheless which is quite a worrying record), which mean that obviously both of admin Tay and Decay were quite busy in the real life. So once again I decided to make another VNTS Review here, and hope you'll enjoy this. To tell the truth there's almost nothing interesting in regard of VNTS from last week, so what I can say is that the last week is quite plain. Although if one want to be more optimistic, we can say that the last week is like some sort of breather in which we'll gonna have a lot of release at this week, so we can say that the last week is like calm before the storm. Anyway, welcome to VNTS Review and obviously I will try to talk about last week VNTS here. For the title, since we have both of Yotsunoha demo release and Muv Luv Alternative (MLA) 18+ patch release, I decided to parodied Chinese historical film 'The Flowers of War' in which it depict the Japanese massacre of Chinese in Nanking back at 1937. The reason of the title is that because we have a war situation in MLA, and as for clovers it was from Yotsunoha which translated as 'four leaf clover'. Regardless of what I said earlier here, let's see what I can write for this time VNTS Review. From Sekai we finally had their fourth secret project was fully translated, and while what kind of the project is still unknown one can hope that they'll reveal their secret projects at AX later, just like Mangagamer at the last year AX. By the way, congratulation for 'My GF is a Mermaid' KS in which it managed to gathered 18,757 in which it's slightly over the original goal (12,000), even though I'm still won't play this though because I didn't have Switch - just in case you look forward for the release, the estimation release month for this VN will be at March 2019 later for the reminder. Also for the reminder we'll gonna have Maitetsu at the end of this week, so keep in mind of that if you interested with dating the android AI train thing (My interest with Maitetsu is more in regard of multiple opening though). For fan translation, we have Eustia was at 46.7% translated, Taraimawashi (Higurashi's side story) was at three quarter translated, Shin Koihime Musou was at 95% translated, Witch Garden was at 46% translated, 216 scripts file of Oreimo Shizuku were finalized, and Harugi's Main was at 23% translated with 6% TLC-ed along with the prologue was at 70% edited. I guess that's all in regard of fan translation for now, and by the way let me tell something that we'll gonna have something interesting by this week from this section as well. We have Sol Press released Yotsunoha demo, and as for whether the translation is accurate or not unfortunately I can't comment on that lol. But just in case you need an opinion, apparently it was still quite rough (ie still not improved) according to one source so perhaps it should be approached with open minded in regard of Yotsunoha's translation. Speaking of Yotsunoha's release date here, Sol Press decided to change the release estimation to Q3 2018 in which it's obviously get delayed, and from there I can tell of how they did overestimated their capability to get released the VNs quickly. Other than Yotsunoha demo release and the delay of the full release, we already have Newton VN finished QA process and Sol Press decided to release this as soon as they got approval from Steam, and it mean that the estimation release date is obviously unpredictable more so if we remember Steam controversial action in regard of several VNs. As for MLA 18+ patch, what I can say is that the release itself is already redundant enough if you satisfied with Amaterasu version of MLA translation (With 18+ content in the first place). While in theory it sounds good that finally we have MLA full version with new translation, actually it didn't matter as well because the sex content in MLA is very few and one of those scenes is quite divisive to boot, so perhaps it's the best that we play MLA without sex content. Regardless of that, have fun though if you're waiting for MLA with 18+ content. Oh, we also have another otome VN announcement in which it'll depict our female MC will interact with Sherlock Holmes and Arsene Lupin (Both of them were handsome lol), and it'll be released at Autumn for both of PSV and Steam (Obviously it mean that we can play this on PC) later. Not my type of VN, but it's good that translated otome VNs keep increasing I guess. That's all for this time VNTS Review, and see you at next week VNTS Review.1 point -
Knock Knock -Happy End- Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review and sorry for being very late here. For this week, since we have Uchi no Koibito sudden release with the premise resemble horror movie Knock Knock (The man was live together with two girls, although in Knock Knock the girls raped the man and then ruined his life) and Tamayura Mirai release from the last week with mod Clephas mentioned that it resemble Monobeno, I'd make a parody of Monobeno updated version, Monobeno -Happy End-, by changing 'Monobeno' into 'Knock Knock', so we have 'Knock Knock -Happy End-' as the title. As for this week, we have a bunch of announcements and releases, although unfortunately none of those are quite interesting to me. If anything else, at least Mangagamer announcements have good graphic, and so to me this week is more or less an average one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week here. There's a new fan translation group (Shinzou Translations) that translate several short VNs, with two of those are Fukyou no Hana and Hikage no Himari. I can only say that good for the group if they manage to working on their favorite VNs, even with the VNs are the short one. We also have Dei Gratia full translation patch release, and yes by Dei Gratia I mean the VN that Lemnisca was decided to scrapped the localization plan after their KS with the base goal 57,000 dollars failed (The link to the patch). The premise is still in regard of several people who were trapped inside a closed room like in Ever17 (Which make sense considering Dei Gratia here is some sort of Ever17 tribute), and said closed room is in the sinking submarine 700 meters below the surface with the unknown threat at the depth of the ocean. Go get the translation patch if you want to play this ever since Lemnica announced the KS plan for this, and have fun. For this week fan translation updates, we have ChuSingura is at 24.72% translated with the translated lines passed 20,000 lines mark, Tsuma Netori is at 20% edited, H2O is at 60.2% edited, Senmomo is at 98.42% edited with side stories is at 94.47% edited, and Akagoei FD is at 40.23% edited along with 24.14% QA-ed. That's all for this week fan translation updates. While this is not VN news, may as well mention that Nekonyan will release Lorena on 26th later. Speaking of release, we have both Aksys and Cherry Kiss released Koinegau and Oppai Samurai respectively. Koinegau here is about a female MC who live in Edo era can see the black thread that will be followed by a disaster and thus be shunned by the villagers, which of course eventually lead her to have a romance with one of six handsome heroes. Go get Koinegau if you want to play it and have Switch (Because it's only available on Switch). As for Oppai Samurai, once again it's about a very famous demon slayer who've been forced to have sex with nobody, and it also has interesting description courtesy of Cherry Kiss translator. Go get Oppai Samurai if you're interested with it, and have fun. Shiravune announced they'll release another nukige from Appetitie with the localized title Queen of the Otaku, and they already have the exact release date for it in which it'll be on July 18th later. Other that announce the new title, Shiravune released Kuroinu Redux with them had all characters in silhouette on top of cutting the contents leaving the prologue alone in Steam version, which is understandable considering Valve can be very random when it come to ban even with the game that has less explicit contents. From what I hear apparently it has new contents, although in the end it's still redundant anyway. If anything else, at least people can purchase the whole Kuroinu in cheaper price seeing that Mangagamer release it in three parts with each parts price is at 25 dollars. Sekai manage to be predictable by announced both of Animal Trail FD and Animal Trail 2 back in Anime Central, and at least the graphic for both are good seeing that Unless Terminalia (The VN from the same company) won the Best Graphic Award back in Getchu 2022. Oh yes, Sekai already had both are fully translated and edited with them currently wating the build for both. For the other updates, Sekai also has Imuto no Seiiki was in QA which mean they manage to get the engine, and lastly we have Amairo Chocolata 2 being approved by Valve with Sekai currently doing the testing for it. Mangagamer announced two VNs, with the first one is the aforementioned Uchi no Koibito that Mangagamer was suddenly released on Anime Central. For the premise, this time instead of living with either his childhood friend or little sister, the MC live together with two girls who work at the cafe that the MC frequent because their home was burned down, and obviously it'll lead the MC to eventually have the romance with two girls with them occasionally do threesome. With this, now we have Uchi trilogy available in English, so go get the VN if you interested with it and have fun. The second one is Nightmare x Vampire in which it's possibly Mangagamer's secret project with the progress is fully translated and edited, and this time we have the vampire girl Rei who at first have rivalry with Setsuna (The first Nightmare series MC) before finally respect each other capabilities. Obviously, we'll going to have Rei got raped as per Nightmare series. Mangagamer also has several updates with the most significant one is Sona-Nyl finally in testing, which if we know that it's been announced from all the way back in 2016 it mean that the wait for is is almost over. Speaking of testing, Mangagamer also mentioned that they almost ready to do the testing for Raillore. For the rest of the updates, we have Rance 03 is at 48% translated along with 29% edited, Rance X is at 56% translated along with 5% edited, Funbag Fantasy is past halfway (51%) translated along with 49% edited, and Eve of December is at 91% translated along with 8% edited. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Techno of Saya Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
So anyone else think that Saya no Uta Steam trailer soundtrack is more fitting as techno song in which it's fitting for dance instead of a trailer for horror VN even with it available in the VN soundtrack? I do (Hence the title for this week VNTS Review) and I felt that it make the trailer is quite narm instead of being scary, so much that I felt that it's very funny. I know that it's the remix of the old trailer song, but it's not like they couldn't use the old song from the trailer there. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review and since apparently Decay was still busy and thus no VNTS, I'll make a review without VNTS here. As for this week, well actually I didn't quite like that there's many delay here, although if the circumstances are very severe I guess it can't really be helped here. If anything, at least there's still some updates and the releases. Anyway let's see what I can write for this week here. As for Saya no Uta remake, other than unfitting trailer song I would say that the release itself is quite redundant because we already have this released twice (And I'm sure that JAST wouldn't change the translation here). While granted it's a HD one, I think most of the people couldn't be able to tell the difference if they use the older laptop (To me the older version is still enough). If anything, at least now that it's available at Steam so if the people prefer Steam to buy the VN then they can buy it from there. Otherwise we can treat this as another redundant release from JAST and wait for JAST to fulfill their promise in regard of their more interesting releases (ie Sumaga, Kimikoi, and Flowers Autumn), which is quite difficult to fulfill if there are many other circumstances such as the problem in the hardcopy factory if they still insist to releases the new releases alongside the hardcopy and thus inevitably delay the releases. From fan translation here, we have Eustia was at 37.99% translated with Eustia's chapter was at 23.22% translated. Other than usual Eustia's update we have Miotsukushi Omote was at 6% translated and more importantly we have Watamasu was fully translated, although it would still take some time before the release though because the editing and QC progress was still at 0% (I assume that the team would certainly take care of that as well). To be honest I didn't really like when Sekai announced the release date only to have them delay it for a week here (From 10th to 16th), and that case is happened at Nine 2. And not to mention the reason is quite hard to accept there, in that apparently because we have Comiket. I know that the developer probably attend Comiket, but I think Sekai here is really need to pay attention to that event beforehand before announce the release date, so that the people who already anticipate the release at that date didn't really need to be disappointed to see the release being delayed. I guess there's nothing will change if I rant here, so let's just say that it's good that Sekai here also have Zombie VN 2 release. While granted it's still serial VN and that the premise is still a post apocalypse world where the zombies roam around, at least now that I take a look at it the graphic is really looking good here. So go get the Zombie VN 2 from Denpasoft if you've been looking forward to it for a while (There's no Steam release here), and have fun. Almost forget to inform that Steam apparently was going berserk again by removing Loca Love from their store, but apparently the reasons is because it did have rank Adult Only and yet the setting was at the high school. I know that the reason here is quite flimsy, although knowing Valve was quite dislike VNs with school setting that have sex scenes safe to say that it might be what Valve have for the reasoning. In any case, let's see whether they still can release Loca Love 2 at this month or not and hopefully they'll be able to find a new store to sell it. Speaking about store, we have poor Mangagamer struggle with their busted deal in regard of the payment processor. I don't really know though on how that work for them, other than it's obviously very inconvenience for them that so much they need to delay Haretaka release which to say was quite a downer. There's a lot to speculate in regard of the busted payment processor here, and more importantly the last time it's happen is back at 2016 in that it also force Mangagamer to delay Haruka release for a month. In any case, for now I just hope that Mangagamer will find a solution for their problem and released Haretaka afterward, and possibly not to let this happen again in the future. Forced Haretaka release delay aside, at least we have a lot of updates from Mangagamer here. As for the updates, we have Uchikano was at 87% translated along with 11% edited, Funbag Fantasy 2 finished the testing, Sona-Nyl was at 20% edited, Sideboob 2 was about to enter the testing, Magic and Slash was at 58% edited, image editing for Escalayer was finished, Mugen Renkan was at 86% translated and 64% edited, 01 was at quarter edited, 02 was at 93% translated and WanNyan was at 70% edited. That's all for Mangagamer's updates here. As for Aokana, it's too bad though that it's also delayed as well although seeing that they got almost 1,200 backers they probably need some time to prepare the Backerkit (At least a month). There's also the matter that Aokana was in review at Steam, which would be took some time seeing that they deleted HGB and more recently Loca Love 2 so it's possible that they would tightening the review process (I just hope that the review process will be going well). So in any case, for now we can at least expect September's end release to be safw. Like Mangagamer, Nekonyan here also have some updates in that they have Aokana was fully translated along with 90% edited, Hello Lady was at 80% translated along with 65% edited, Makeover was at halfway translated and edited, and Senren Banka was at 35% translated and edited. Also like both of Mangagamer and Sekai, Nekonyan here also have secret projects and this time they add two more. For the progress, we have the engine for the 1st project was worked on by the developer, 2nd was at a quarter translated and edited, and 3rd was at 7% translated and edited. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and sorry for being late here. See you next week.1 point -
SRPG – Uncovering The VN Hybrid
Kenji Setou reacted to Pallas_Raven for a blog entry
This is a condensed version of the full article which can be found on my Main Blog Here. Mixing Words And Chess If you want gameplay that mixes the grand feeling of strategy while still maintaining a strong character focus then the SRPG is generally the way to go. Hence why visual novel developers find this style mechanics appealing and select it to form a hybrid with in order to compliment the visual novel's narrative tone. Here the SRPG will be defined as a strategy game using a grid systems where the player and the enemy take turns moving their units such as in Fire Emblem or Disgaea. The stories using SRPGs tend towards two types, a grand strategy tale about big conflicts between factions or one with a larger cast where a lot of them are involved in combat. These share the common trait of being on a scale beyond the normal small groups and personal conflicts and needing something equally big to properly express them. Just copying and pasting basic SRPG mechanics to form a hybrid often leads to repetitive feeling battles and adding in a some unique element is required to make it more distinctive. However, this is something the SRPG can struggle with and is reflected in many hybrids. Let’s checkmate our opponent and explore how SRPGs function in visual novels. Expressing A Strategy Centric Narrative Grand is the stage of a story pitting groups of people against one another, be they between villages, nations or anything in between. As such a visual novel focused around such a topic must have equally grand mechanics in the form of the SRPG. Its function here is to help sell the scale and manoeuvring involved in the conflict without the narrative having to spend valuable space spelling it out in a potentially dry manner. Having the player act out these sequences creates a sense of how the character in command feels when dealing with the complexities of combat and this frees the visual novel from having to express these ups and downs and it gives emphasis to greater story by having it as the secondary focus. There is also an understanding of how important the planning and macro movement which occur outside the SRPG sections is in creating a steady sense of escalation. So when the plan is put into action and the player is pushed into the SRPG, they experience the sense of being the one to put into action the cleaver tricks and tactics the characters have thought up. The Utawarerumono franchise is a good example of how this is put into practice on various scales of conflict. Each game starts with low stakes encounters for the sake of building a bond between the player and those they are commanding. There is understanding in these games that the SRPG must follow the tempo of the VN given the slower ramp up it has to follow or the two would start to clash given vastly different focuses. As the narrative escalates into an increasingly grand scale, so to do the mechanics of the SRPG grow in complexity to create a united sense of the actions of the cast. Even as the scope increases the games never lose sight of the characters who made this journey possible through their duel role as powerful units and the emotional core of the narrative. The two halves of Utawarerumono weave in and out of each other without ever stepping on each other’s toes creating a harmonious experience which the player feels the increased impact from both since they aim for the same ends. Stand In For Large Group Combat Not all visual novels using SRPG mechanics are interesting in grand scale conflicts. There are many aiming for a smaller focus around a large cast on a personal and local level to their lives. Presenting the conflict through the lens of an SRPG allows for a stage on which all the characters can be shown working together to help further the camaraderie found in the narrative. It also gives each a unique flavour through their skills and abilities which showcase the identity the player has come to love. Everything about the SRPG seeks to emphasise the feelings of intimacy formed in the visual novel and make them kinetic in a practical setting. Here the choice of an SRPG over a more traditional strategy game provides both the benefit of scale without zooming so far out as to lose the relationship and bonds visual novels thrive on. Issues With Creating Mechanic Distinctiveness In SRPGs From a mechanical perspective the SRPG is a type of game which has always struggled with diversity. It has a specific set of expected features and there is little room offered for a new game to expand it to leave their mark. Some do try to add their own unique spin on the formula but it is rare for them to have any meaningful impact on the overall experience of play. This is not as important to hybrid visual novels as it is to a pure SRPG since it wants the broad and tactile emotions the SRPG invokes rather than its complexity or difficulty. However, that does not mean it is above suffering from the issues of mechanical repetitiveness and many still try to include something unique to create a more memorable experience. Digimon Survive attempts to do exactly this with its digivolution system. This is where partner digimon have the ability to change into higher and more powerful stages of evolution at the cost of continually draining their SP and after running out they will return to their original state. The idea here is clearly to encourage the player into the shoes of the humans supporting the digimon by giving them access to the same powers as the protagonist characters and make them careful consider when to unleash it to swing the tide of the fight. In practice there seems to have been some fear of actually committing to this interesting idea and the SP cost is rendered irrelevant through high SP totals and easy SP recovery meaning there is never any reason not to go straight to the highest stage of evolution at the start of the battle. This is an extremely common trend among hybrid visual novels with many of them adding theoretically engaging unique mechanics only to not properly utilise them and render the SRPG feeling extremely standard and uninspired. Its status as a secondary element might well be to blame as resources are funnelled into the visual novel portion due to its greater importance which results in these extra elements being starved of what they need to shine. Conclusion When considering the SRPG for a visual novel hybrid there is a great deal it can offer in terms of thematic synergy and pushing an elevated perspective on events. It provides the game with a sense of grandeur through the scale it operates on and allows the player to put themselves in the shoes of the character commanding this battle. Despite this perspective it still has a much more personal angle to the units being controlled than other types of strategy games which gives it a greater compatibility with visual novel narratives. The major downside to using an SRPG is the way it can be difficult for the gameplay to feel unique especially when it is secondary to the visual novel and as such has less development time to get it the mechanics right. Nonetheless, if you are looking for style of secondary gameplay that works with a larger cast or a grander scale then you cannot go wrong with the SRPG.1 point -
9 -Nine- Episode 4: Izumi Noa Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to my very belated VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explain the title at PS later. As for this week, well there's quite a bunch of releases with the biggest one was Nine Episode 4. Other than that, there's also some updates as well with some of those are interesting to a degree. So overall I can say that it's been the biggest week that we have at this year, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. Shiravune did release Megasuki in which it gather some controversy along with some sex scenes between the childhood friend who is a member of track club and like to wear glasses. The controversy in question is that Shiravune did release this with Denuvo, which to say that was quite infamous in that it even cause the one who get it legally complained on how it slow down the game performance along with on how they need to connect to the internet all the time. Granted that it might be help to combat the piracy, although using this on short VN seems to be quite overblown and not quite worth the effort. In any case, I can only say that hopefully this is the first and the last time that Denuvo was used in translated VN release. From Fakku we have Perverse Incentives release at today in that apparently has some loli and interesting idea, although I don't exactly know on how much the contents in the VN itself though. Anyway go get the VN if you somehow interested with it, and have fun. We also have HarmonEy release, and I only know that it's from same company as Tenkiame localization company so perhaps you may keep that in mind because apparently it has some bad translation. That said, if you want to see some slice of life between wife and husband that didn't have much drama, go get the VN and have fun. There's also a nukige from Cherry Kiss and once again it has unique localized name (My Married Cousin's Need for Seed), and apparently it has some sex between cousin because the MC was forced by his family to impregnate his cousin although the MC didn't really mind of it because he's been in love with the cousin and that he's been jealous when said cousin was married and have sex with her husband (So you'll have NTR cousin nukige). Not that it's interesting to me here, but if you interested with it then you can wait until it's released at April 2nd later. Turned out that Laplacian did ask JAST help for their licensing, because we have their nukige was released by JAST back at 19th. The premise is that we'll going to have the husband tried to satisfy his wife who said as the most horny wife in the world with punny name (Kouguchi Rinko or if you prefer localized name Rikky Horne). Go get the nukige if you interested with it, and have fun. Speaking of Laplacian, turned out that there's a plan to localized their newest VN (And perhaps their Magnum Opus) Aojashin in which currently the translation of it is still ongoing and that there's a plan to release it in both of Englsh and Chinese language along with Steam release as well (The writer's tweet for the proof). No idea on who's the one who handle the localization here, but looking from their recent nukige release JAST seems to be quite possible although as far as I know JAST almost never release their VN on Chinese language though (Or perhaps they change their policy, although it's still too early to tell). Anyway I'll look forward in regard of Aojashin translation progress in the future. As for this week fan translation, we have Eustia was at 84.42% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 45.27% TLC-ed and side stories was at 65.73% TLC-ed, 21,131 lines from Pure x Connect was translated along with 12,835 lines of it was edited, and Hokejo was at 28.2% translated. There's also Kirikoi KS in which currently it's been at 81,262 euro funded which mean it already exceeded the requirement for Golden Time license in which it's at 75,000 euro funded. That said, in regard of Golden Time I still waiting for the announcement from Nekonyan in regard of that. We also have their 3rd secret project was already approved by Valve which mean it's almost ready for the release, although whether the project in question is a big one or not we must wait until Nekonyan reveal it later. It's good to see that Sekai finally release Koiama 2 with English language support after they'd release it with Chinese language only. Other than Sekai did release this without English language first, what I can say is that the atmosphere and the character design itself is resemble Gochiusa, so you can get it if you want to read something like Gochiusa (With the addition sex scenes because Gochiusa here didn't have sex scenes for obvious reason) and have fun. Lastly we have Sekai released Nine Episode 4 in which it's the finale of Nine tetralogy, and of course you can get it if you've been holding back in order to play the finale of Nine here. The premise here is that our MC Kakeru finally manage to find out the one who responsible for the petrification in the town, and in order to face the culprit Kakeru did enlist Noa's help along with some other heroines. Of course other than final battle, there'll be some romance as well and in this case Kakeru will have some romance with Noa. Go get Nine Episode 4 from Sekai, and have fun. Oh yes Palette did announce that they'll release new episode at April later, although it's more or less just after stories for Nine heroines though which is more like fandisc to a degree. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and once again sorry for being late here. See you next week. PS - Since we have Nine Episode 4 release, once again I make the VA joke for this week VNTS Review by changing 'Yuki' to 'Izumi' so we have '9 -Nine- Episode 4: Izumi Noa' here (The title for Nine Episode 4 is '9 -Nine- Episode 4: Noa Yuki). The VA joke here is from Izumi in which it's the family name of Sagiri of Eromanga-sensei (Same author as Oreimo by the way) who has same VA as Noa (Fujita Akane). For the info, there's also anime character called Izumi Noa from the old anime Patlabor, although the kanji writing for both Noa are different.1 point -
Heartvania: Symphony of the Daybreak Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review and sorry for being very late here. For the title since we have Tokimeki Memorial released and that the writer is Igarashi Koji who is known for writing Castlevania franchise, I decided to parody the most famous game of said franchise, Symphony of the Night, by changing 'Castle' into 'Heart' (From the Heartthrob at the translated title) and 'Night' into 'Daybreak' because we finally have Tokeijikake Daybreak released in near future, so we have 'Heartvania Symphony of the Daybreak' as the title. As for this week, well let's just say that it's quite interesting seeing that Sekai did give us several updates along with two new projects, although release wise there's no much compared to the last week. In the end, this week is pretty much average one and let's see what I can write about it. Finally we have Aoi Tori fully translated, and for the info the source is from Nekonyan's Discord. That said though just because it's fully translated doesn't mean that it's almost ready for the release, seeing that there's still so much work to be done on it such as the remaining editing work, the engine work in regard of porting it to Unity, the QA, and finally setting up the store front (Including waiting for Valve's review) before finally ready for the release. Speaking of waiting for the review, turned out that Dokyuusei Remake need more time to get the review done so unfortunately Shiravune need to delay the release of it, although that said the new release date should be still at this year. We also have Yumemi Dreamer 8th chapter released, and Ninetails announced the exact release date for Frontier mini fandiscs in which it'll be at 25th later. As for Tokimeki Memorial release, it's been released by a fan translation group. What I can say is I did remember that I show some interest with the game seeing that it's said as the most popular dating sim in the article that mention it back at 15 years ago (I forgot the detail), although nowadays I can only say that the graphic is quite outdated for an obvious reason (It's 1994 VN after all). Still if you show some interest into playing historical dating sim, go play Tokimeki Memorial at SNES emulator and have fun. For other updates from fan translation, we have both of Taimanin Kurenai and Arcueid's route of Tsukihime Remake fully translated, 93% original lines of Summer Pockets were reworked, Chaos Head Noah was at 24.27% TLC-ed along with 13.95% edited, Yoshitsune's route of Majikoi A-5 has 20 scripts worked on, Harugi was at 55% edited, and Senmomo was at 37.14% edited with side stories was at 29.34% edited. Like I say earlier we finally have the exact release date for Daybreak (Tokeijikake second part for the reminder), and it'll be at 18th later. Let's just hope that after this Sekai won't need long time to finally released Morning Mist there (Last part of Tokeijikake trilogy). For Sekai other updates, we have both of Harvest Festa and Imouto no Seiiki was at 80% translated, and Yumeiro was at halfway translated along with 20% edited. For the first new project we have Sekai localized Usokara Hajimaru Koi no Natsu (Usonatau), and from what I can see it's GL VN that'll be released at this year along with has same staffs as Fatal Twelve, so at least I can expect some nice graphic from it. The second is Nine Shinshou in which it's unsurprisingly their secret project, and they already have it ready for the release with the exact date is the same day as Daybreak release (At 18th later). While I did say that it's more or less just the fandisc for the whole Nine series, at least it should be nice to get if one want more Nine and Tsubasu's art. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
How to Live in Healthy Hentai Police State Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (25/06/2023) Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explain it in PS later. As for this week, it's definitely an interesting one with Nukitashi release despite several shenanigans happening. Other than Nukitashi release, we also has the sequel announced as soon as the first game was released. Of course, we also have other updates, with the most particular one to me is in regard of Clover Day's release. With that done, let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Frontwing announce the exact release date for Grisaia Chronos Rebellion on July 27th, and I can only say 'Yeah, okay. Whatever'. Admittedly speaking it could be good announcement from Frontwing, had they announced it in... 2011. My point is that while Grisaia franchise is indeed good VN, nowadays there are more translated VNs compared to back when Kajitsu was released in 2011. Cherry Kiss did release their nukige (It's Mommy Sensei: Horny Homework for the reminder), and I find that the premise is quite unique with the ugly male MC got support from very sexy (And big breasted) principal to do his revenge quest from being bullied. Go get the VN if you're already waiting for it, and have fun. This week we have H2O show some significant progress, with the current progress of the editing is past three quarter mark (75.12%) edited. Other than H2O major editing progress, we also have Tsuma Netori is at 20% proofread, 400 out of 2499 main script of Fate/Extra CCC are edited, ChuSingura is at 27.92% translated, and Akagoei FD is at 62.07% edited along with 35.63% in QA. We also finally have Alka returned after being absent for a while, and for their recent progress we have Kud Wafter all age version is past three quarter (75.5%) translated with the 18+ version is at 40.1% translated. Speaking of returning, we also have Umi kara Kuru Mono being updated with the current progress is we have 91 out of 138 script files of it are translated. JAST did release Onigokko FD, so in case you want to have little sister route back in the main VN because the little sister didn't have the route in there, go get Onigokko FD and have fun. After several years of waiting (For almost a decade ever since the original fan translation project started), we finally have Nekonyan announced the release estimation for Clover Day's, and it'll be in this August. Granted that it might be placeholder for now, but at least it's better than nothing. Oh yes, Clover Day's itself is already passed the Steam review thanks to Hikari Field submit the new build, and in case you need more proof then you can visit the Store page of it. Shiravune did announce Nukitashi 2 in which it had a new story along with the after stories for the heroines, and no idea on when it'll be released. Anyway congratulation to Qruppo now that we finally have Nukitashi released, especially after their first deal with Sol Press was failed because Sol Press lack of fund. For the premise, well it should be obvious that you better expect a lot of sex scenes because it's title and all. Or if you need more elaboration, it's about the MC Junnosuke who came back to his hometown, only to find out that the town heavily support wild sex with the new law. While it sounds good on paper, turned out that the town is basically become the police state with the government force the people to have sex, and Junnosuke has his own reason to not agree with the policy, so he decided to fight against the law by gathering several allies who've been wronged by the law in one way or another. Go get Nukitashi if you've been waiting for it, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - Since we have Nukitashi release, I figure that I'll just make a parody for one of Mangamer nukige, How to Live a Healthy Hentai Lifestyle, by changing 'Lifestyle' into 'Police State' (Because Nukitashi setting is the police state), so we have 'How to Live in Healthy Hentai Police State' as the title.1 point -
Fate/Twilight Night -Cerulean Glass Moon- Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Because we have Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- release with Nasu as the writer already have Fate as his most famous franchise, I figure may as well add 'Fate' in the title along with 'Twilight' (Because it's has vampire with Tsukihime also has it) and change 'Blue' into 'Cerulean' (The synonym of blue, and it's because Nekonyan announced Cerulean Day), so we have 'Fate/Twilight Night -Cerulean Glass Moon-' as the title. Anyway as for this week, I can definitely say that it's more interesting compared to the last week, especially with Tsukihime Remake Part 1 translation patch release. While the main highlight is obviously Tsukihime Remake, we also has several other updates, with the most prominent one is that Clover Days passed Steam review (Yes you didn't read it wrong). Overall, like I say beforehand this week is an interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Cabbit announce their newest VN (Kagi o Kakushita Kago no Tori) in English, and you can try the trial in the Steam store of it. What I can say is while Cabbit has some VNs with interesting premise (Including this), it's quite unfortunate that they can't just trust other companies to handle their non-nukige VN, especially because it mean that they'll cut the sex scene. Ultimately, it's not like there's no much interesting VN that are or about to be translated anyway, and if anything else at least Cabbit didn't work together with SakuraGame again. Craftwork delayed Geminism release to September 29th later, which mean they probably has more work left that they're initially thought. Aksys released Jack Jeanne, and from all of their releases it's the only their otome VN that didn't produced by Idea Factory, but instead it's worked on by Broccoli (Galaxy Angel developer). What I know is that the MC attended the school for theater acting, she need to hide her identity as girl because the school is all male school, and it's only available in Switch. Go get it if you've been interested with it and had Switch. PQube announced Konosuba VN, and it has dress up game with the casts (The female main casts) personality reversed because of a curse, so you'll get sadistic Darkness, Megumin embracing her role as lolita, and Aqua act like the proper goddess. Unlike Jack Jeanne, at least PQube also announced the PC version of Konosuba VN. Frontwing announced that they'll release Aikagi After Days in this year, which from what I can gather it's about the after story of first Aikagi with the MC and the heroine will have a lot of fun in summer. Sekai did have several updates, with them about to release Imouto no Seiiki on 26th later along with had Sheol engine work is 80% done. We have Clover Days passed Steam review, and once again you didn't read it wrong, because Hikari Field decided to tweak the build and submit the new build to have it reviewed. For the reminder, the last time Valve did reject Clover Days, so it's obvious that they passed it is a good news. That said, there still some works left before the release, but at least that's one major step got taken care of. For fan translation updates, we have ChuSingura is at 27.13% translated, 275 out of 2499 main script of Fate/Extra CCC are edited, Akagoei FD is at 60.92% edited along with 27.59% in QA, Tsuma Netori is at 35% edited, Planetarian Snow Globe image editing work has been finished, and Yosuga no Sora is at 72% TLC-ed along with 57% edited. We also have new translation project from the former White Album translator, with said project is Aikano that also has love triangle story. For the progress of Aikano, currently 186 out of 4471 lines of it are translated. Other than Tsukihime Remake 1 release, there's another release from fan translation in that it's a VN called Nakoruru, and from what I gather it's about a character from SNK fighting game Samurai Spirits. Oh, and that the VN is only available for Dreamcast. Go get Nakokuru if you're interested with it. Lastly, we have Tsukihime Remake Part 1 translation patch release, in which unfortunately it's not available for PC, so you need to have Switch if you want to to play it. The basic premise here is still like in 2000 version, with our orphan MC Shiki called to live together with his strict young sister Akiha, and he also has power to see the line of death that he impulsively use to kill passerby vampire Arcueid, weakening her in progress because she did use most of her energy to revive. The remake has some differences though, with Nasu filled his idea as much as possible in the new version (Especially on Ciel's route), so much that he need to make it in parts, and so he only manage to release one part of it with he obviously need more time to develop the second part. Nasu here also add more new prominent characters in the Remake, in that it'll be nice to see if Battle Moon Wars or Carnival Phantasm can add them. Go get Tsukihime Remake if you've been waiting for the big release of it, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Sono Hanabira All Stars New Stage Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review. As for the title since we have Sono Hanabira 13 translation patch released, I decided to just combined it with Precure All Stars New Stage movie with Sono Hanabira, and so we have 'Sono Hanabira All Stars New Stage' as the title. Also yes, I did use the similar title from my past VNTS Review, because back then we have Sono Hanabira 11 in that it also has the all casts with the continuation of their stories, and Sono Hanabira 13 is the second game with the similar premise (Hence I use New Stage as in it's the second trilogy of Precure All Stars movie). Anyway as for this week compared to the last week it's definitely an improvement, especially with the release for both Sono Hanabira 13 and Inochi no Spare from fan translation section, and not to mention that Mangagamer finally about to release IX in less than a month. Overall I can say that this week is an interesting one thanks to the releases, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Sekai did already have Amairo Chocolata 2 was fully in QA along with it listed as 'Pending Approvals', which from what I can understand is that it seems Sekai planned it to be their next release after Qualia. Speaking of Qualia release, Sekai already listed February 3rd later as the release date so you can note the date if you've been looking forward to Qualia. For Sekai updates, I can only say that both are not in regard of Madosoft VNs, so whatever. artlink released another translated DLC story for Obedient Women, and this time it's in regard of Kaede Kagami who is a young wife that is competent in houseworks. Mangagamer announced that they'll release Rance IX on February 23rd later, so you can note the date if you've been waiting for new Rance game, especially for the one who've been waiting for the English version since 2014. Shiravune did license another new title that they'll release on February 10th later, and said new title is Beta Sixdouze which is set in the same world as the prequel (Alpha Nighthawk). While I can't say that I like the design as much as I like Miriya's design from the prequel, the art in Sixdouze is still good, so at least you can note the date if you want to see more of Nighthawk world. I'd also mention that I look forward to see if Shiravune will be able to localize Sixdouze as well, and they prove that they can so good for them. We have Chronos released, and from what I see it's about the spaceship with the female crew that will suffer a lot of rape by tentacle. No much to say other than go get Chronos if you've been looking forward to it or want to see more Black Lilith VNs, and have fun. For the rest of fan translation updates, we have H2O was fully translated with the translator now focusing on the editing works for the VN (Image, script, and video), Maho's route of December When There is No Angel was fully translated and now the translator working on Yukio's route, and Senmomo is at 86.95% edited with side stories was past halfway (54.36%) edited. We also have Committee of Zero announced the exact date for Chaos Head Noah fix patch release, and it'll be on February 3rd later. Yesterday we have Inochi no Spare release, in which it's the well known utsuge with the bittersweet ending. I'd say that I hope that someday it'll get English translation so that more it can be enjoyed by more people outside Indonesian (It's available in Indonesian language for the reminder), and I get what I hope thanks to PyroCyan out there. As for Inochi no Spare itself, while I said that the fictional heart disease is the plot device, it can't be denied that it show on how all human are understandably very fearful of death. That said, while it has fictional terrible disease, the author here clearly didn't ask us to have him explaining on how to cure it, but instead the author ask us to see on how the main couple (Ryuuji and Meguri) who have their days numbered thanks to the disease spent the last days of their remaining life. Go get Inochi no Spare if you want to play sad VN and didn't mind the sadness. I mentioned that we have Sono Hanabira (Sonohana) with all casts, and said Sonohana VN is Sonohana 13 aka Snow White Knight, which is another big Sonohana VN that featured all previous couple with one new couple (Rikka x Sayuki). Which of course, we'll going to see on how the new couple will gradually open up to each other and then have sex. For the reminder, Sonohana series was known as nukige in the past, even with the sex scenes are quite short. By the way, even though I mention that all Sonohana couple will appear in Sonohana 13, only five couple that got their stories, so there's not spotlight for the remaining two couples (Takako x Runa and Shizuku x Eris). That said, there's also Sonohana 14 (Which also translated as well) that featured Shizuku x Eris, so at least technically we have six out of seven couples get the spotlight. Go get both Sonohana if you want to see more GL romance (Or maybe just want to read the whole series), and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Accomplishments of the Gravure Model Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/12/2022) Because we have Lover Pretend in which it finally has the villainess otome VN character (Even if for one route only) and said character work as the gravure model, I made reference of a certain 'reincarnated into villainess otome' manga, Accomplishments of the Duke's Daughter, by changing 'Duke's Daughter' into 'Gravure Model' so we have 'Accomplishments of the Gravure Model' as this week VNTS Review title. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review, and if I may summarize this week it would be slightly below average to me, but if anything else at least we still have some updates with the biggest one is Tsukihime Remake was fully translated. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Aksys released Lover Pretend, and out of all translated otome VN so far it's the only one that purely featuring usual romance drama instead of having very interesting premise. As for the premise, we have Chiyuki who work as the assistant of the script writer tasked to write about love. Seeing that Chiyuki has never experienced romance in the first place, obviously the job would be very hard to her. That said, she did very best so that she can write the best script in order to fulfill her two dream, to be the best scriptwriter like her late mother and to find about her missing father who according to the clue that her mother left is that the one who involved in drama may know something about it. Little did she know that she'll learn about love through her new job, in which she'll end up with one of five heroes. Go get Lover Pretend if you have Switch (Unfortunately still no Steam release here) and been looking forward to it, and have fun. For this week fan translation we have Chronos is at three quarter translated, 14 out of 138 script files for Umi kara Kuru Mono are translated, Anzu's route of Akagoei FD is at 70% translated, Senmomo is at 80.67% edited with Chapter 6 is at 64.45% edited, ChuSingura is at 16.37% translated, and H2O is at 56.7% translated with Hinata's route is fully translated (By the way the translator already decided to work on Yui's route along with the rest of Root After and Another contents before going back to translate Otoha's route). There's also another update in regard of Eiyuutan in which the translator already finished translate all of 10 script files for Aisha's route in Episode 1 (Excluding the sex scenes), and turned out that the true number of script files in Episode 1 is 23 script files, so currently we have 10 out of 23 script files of Eiyuutan first episode are translated. We finally have all Ciel's route of Tsukihime Remake are fully translated, which obviously mean that all of Tsukihime Remake are fully translated. That said though, obviously it didn't mean that we can get the translation patch directly because there's still some works left to do, such as editing and finalizing, in which the translator already worked on those two in the past (Ciel's route up to day 8 is already edited while at the same time Ciel's route has been finalized up to day 6). Speaking of fully translated, we also have all of Yoshitsune's route of Majikoi A-5 is fully translated, which mean Majikoi A-5 here is fully translated, although of course we still need to wait for the polishing works (ie TLC and editing works) before the release. Almost forgot to mention that Mangagamer released Detective Masochist 3, and I can only say whatever to that nukige (Go get it though if you want more Detective Masochist after playing the previous two prequel). Lastly we have Committee of Zero announced that they'll release Chaos Head Noah fix patch in this month, in which it's already been delayed from initial release plan on October because the high number of bugs, especially the Switch version. Speaking of Noah, while there's a lot of mistake so much that Committee of Zero urge the player to wait for the fix patch, at least this time PC version of Noah has mouse support unlike Robotic Notes where we need to wait for the fix patch in order to have mouse support on PC version of Robotic Notes. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Sweets Labyrinth Meister Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/09/2022) Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title since we have edited MTL patch for Amayui Labyrinth Meister (Or I'll call it as Amayui 2 from now on) I changed the word 'Amayui' into 'Sweets' because Amayui itself can be literally translated as 'sweets' based on the word 'ama' alone so we have 'Sweets Labyrinth Meister' as the title, even though the actually the kanji 'ama' in there is actually meant heaven. As for this week, once again it's quite complicated because of two translated edited MTL translation patch which may as well not treated as such if the translator not said it directly. Aside from those two MTL patch, once again there're several updates from fan translation with the most notable one is Ginharu just finished the translation work. All in all, if not for the fact that those two newly released patch are MTL this week here could be an exciting one, although as it stands it's now just an above average one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. Unlike first Amayui in which I did help worked on, this time I'm not involved with it. As for Amayui 2, while gameplay wise it's certainly far more accessible to the newbie seeing that Eushully add several new features that made the battle easier (Although they also nerf some of the other features), story wise compared to the prequel Amayui 2 here is more focused on Avaro's quest on another country with him investigating the anomaly in the dungeons. Anyway go get the patch in the website here if you want to play Amayui 2 and also if you didn't mind for the fact that Depravity used the MTL to help with the translation work, and have fun. Oh yes actually I'm quite late to report this, because Amayui 2 patch here was released back on August 8th. Another edited MTL patch that was released is Re:Lief translation patch, and this one is already released from way back in May so it took people three months to just notice it. Looking from the art alone, I can say that Re:Lief here got some nice art along with the good opening song, although as for the story from what I can see it's quite divisive seeing that Erogamescape has better reception on this compared to VNDB. For the premise, it's about our MC Tsukasa who is attend an unique school in an isolated island with said school is intended as the one that used for government program to allow the troubled adult do back to school for a year before going back to society. Since most likely that Nekonyan will not localize this despite that Hikari Field is the one who release this on Steam, you can get the patch on here if you want to play Re:Lief in English and not mind of the edited MTL. We have the KS for Venus Blood Gaia successful with the gathered fund was at 36,095,714 yen or more than 2.7 times of the initial goal, and I'll look forward to their planned release on June 2023 later. Shiravune will release Himeyoku on 9th later, and let's just say that I hope that Shiravune next announcements can be more interesting. From JAST we have the translator was already finished with Gore Screaming Show translation work, and let's see if JAST will release it on this year after they put double and triple effort on editing and QC. Sekai also announced that they'll release Hamidashi Chinese version on 30th later, and even though I criticized Sekai several times for releasing Chinese version instead of English version first, at least this times we can see that it's impossible to have English release first (If anything else, they manage to get the Steam store page for Hamidashi opened which to say is quite nice considering the random ban that Chaos Head Noah got). For fan translation, we have ChuSingura was at 10.82% translated, Manakashi was at halfway translated, White Album 2 Mini After Story had the last after story was at 82% translated, Imaimo was fully QC-ed, Chronos was at 35% edited, Shin Koihime Musou was at 59% edited, Chicchakunai Mon was at 19.53% edited, and Chaos Head Noah was at 91.32% TLC-ed along with 80.07% edited. We also have update on Bishoujo Mangekyou 2.5 which is quite surprising because the last update on it was several years ago, and said update is the work on it will start shortly with the original translator, Arcadeotic, will do the TLC of it while leaving the translation work to the other group. That said though, Arcadeotic here is still worked on Bishoujo Mangekyou translation in which it's Bishoujo Mangekyou 4 that has trap MC and the one that I'm interested with, and we already have some progress on it with the current progress was 2 out of 56 script files of it were translated. We have several updates from Daybreak Translation, with one of those is that turned out they're the group who working on Bishoujo Mangekyou 2.5 translation, and the translator himself already made the estimate release time in that it'll be on early 2023 later. There's also some slight update on Akagoei FD with the translator restarted his work on Moe's route, although very slowly on that. Lastly, we have all of Ginharu was translated which obviously also mean all 37 script files of Yuzuki's route and 10 of her sex scenes were translated, although obviously it didn't mean that we can have Yuzuki's patch being released immediately, because there's still some works left including editing with the editing work for Mizuha's route has not finished yet. So to summarize it, with some works left before the release, perhaps it would be the best to not expect Yuzuki's patch released in this year, especially with the plan to release Mizuha's and Yuzuki's patch separately. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. Edit (09/09) - Seeing that VNTS is back, I decided to add the link to it from now on even though it'll be late so I'll add the link whenever VNTS page is posted. Also seeing the date is use the format DD/MM/YYYY, I changed it to reflect as such. For the info the old VNTS using MM/DD/YYYY, which turned out to be only used by USA alone while most of the countries use DD/MM/YYYY format.1 point -
Sakura Cherubim Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title since we have Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates released along with Sakura Succubus 5 release (Good to see that Winged Cloud still be able to milk Sakura Succubus I suppose) I changed 'Succubus' into 'Cherubim' so we have 'Sakura Cherubim' for the title (The reason is because we have Cherubim as the part of the setting in Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates). As for this week, initially I thought that this would be a plain one although a certain today announcement did at least has some interesting circumstances behind it, so I suppose this week here is overall quite an average one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review. Sekai did release Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates, and what I can say is that it's created by the former Eushully staffs with the art drawn by Eushully former artist. The premise is very simple in which the MC met up with the group of half-angel half-beast girl called Cherubim, and the MC did accompany the Cherubim with the MC will have romance with the Cherubim. Yeah this is more or less like Nekopara and the like, although the VN here is actually adapted the doujin manga. Also judging from the number of the heroines and the fact that it has 'Volume 1' word, it's pretty obvious that there'll be a plan to develop two more VNs to allow the MC to have romance with all of three heroines. Go get the VN if you want to play a serial moege VN with the art that resemble Eushully's VN (By the way the first volume heroine here resembled Kuna from Amayui Labyrinth Meister), and have fun. Aniplex planned to released Mahoyo on Switch and PS4, in which it's normal if Aniplex want to distribute it seeing that they did broadcast Fate Stay Night DEEN version in Indonesia way back at 2007 through Animax (Both Aniplex and Animax are under Sony). More importantly the plan is to add the English language support in the release later, so effectively it mean that Type-Moon decided to allow Mahoyo to be localized. While it looks surprising at the first glance, actually it make sense to a degree seeing that we also have Melty Blood in which it's Type Moon game was localized. Obviously though it mean that the release will be overlapped with the fan translation of PC version, and actually the console version here would be superior one seeing that it has voice as well. In case you want to get it, it'll be available at December later so you can note the month if you have either Switch or PS4. Love Lab will localize a VN with the maid that has localized title 'Maid for Loving You', and it's still unknown whether it's one of their two secret project or not. If anything else, at least I know that it has maid heroine and it'll be a short length VN. We also have a fan translation group with the goal to translate Ruitomo, and as we know Ruitomo is another VN from Akatsuki Work (Hello Lady and Comyu developer for the reminder) with the MC being a trap thanks to the curse. From there our MC will find several other cursed people who share similar situation with the MC, and they'll stick together as the group. I'll keep my eyes on the project, and good luck to the translator of it. For the progress we have it at 5.34% translated with common route was at 23.54% translated. For the rest of fan translation updates at this week, we have Senmomo was at 46.98% edited with Chapter 3 was at 49.53% edited, Harugi was at 60% edited, Taimanin Kurenai was at 95% edited, Chicchakunai Mon was at 91% translated, Yoshitsune's route of Majikoi A-5 has 26 script files worked on, Eustia was at 95.34% in programming with Licia's chapter was past three quarter (75.23%) in programming, and 38 out of 141 script files of Mizuha's route in Ginharu was translated with the translator finished translated the middle school arc of Mizuha's route (For the reminder each of Ginharu routes are divided into three arc (Middle school arc, high school arc, and college arc)). Lastly we have the team behind Aojashin uncensoring project reveal that they decided to continuing on translating the rest of the sex scenes, and currently they translate two more sex scenes from the second case so at least it may be possible to see all the sex scenes in Aojashin translated. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Add the Berry to My Big Marshmallow Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explain it at PS later. Anyway as for this week one of the big news is in regard of Laplacian announcements of Aojashin English release in which turned out that the writer is quite infamous in Japanese (Well the character bio in each of Laplacian's website should be in line with the writer personality), and let's just say that it caused a lot of drama in Reddit. Another one is that we finally have Nekonyan confirmed that yes they'll release Hello Lady at 21st later, and obviously this week we have two releases (Mashimaro and Dead Aegis) in which both of those are interesting on their own. Overall despite some headache inducing drama in regard of Aojashin I can say that this week is interesting, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. As for Aojashin itself, the writer is still decided to have it censored along with write some bold responses. Obviously the response didn't help the situation at all, especially when there's two censor known with one of those is in regard of removing the school element. While to be fair they need to deal with Steam which it can be random when it come to ban, the school removal here would make Aojashin new version lose the reference of first Laplacian VN (Aojashin here is supposed to make the reference across three previous Laplacian VNs). Surprisingly almost nobody asked on why the VN is not all age in the first place if the English version is more in line with author's vision, but I guess it's easy to answer by comparing it with minori. Anyway, the English version has some new features with the most important one is the music player which is missing in the original version, although as for whether the other new features can justify the loss of the sex scenes like Dies Irae we'll see. After Mashimaro release, we have Shiravune announced femdom nukige with all of the heroines are nurses with the name Nope Nope Nurses. I can only say that you may get if if you have some dominant nurses fetish, and if you want to get it then you can wait until 14th later (Or you can wait until 21st because Shiravune here somehow manage to sell this on Steam). Speaking of nukige, we also have Cherry Kiss announced yet another nukige with the title 'Hentai Houseparty: Gyaru Gangbang', in which the MC himself is live with three gyaru heroines and then the MC will have a lot of sex with all three. In case you somehow interested with the nukige, note that it'll be released at 18th later. Love Lab here finally has a new project, although the name of the project is still not revealed yet so it's called Secret Project for now (Duh). As for the current progress of said Secret Project, we have it at 6.7% translated (Meru's tweet for the source). From fan translation we have Senmomo was at 24.54% edited with Chapter 2 was at 22.28% edited, Loverable was at 99.66% edited, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 70% edited along with halfway in proofreading. There's also some update in regard of Tsukihime Remake Part 1, and currently the team managed to translated the 8th day. Although actually there's more than that though, because there's both route (Arcueid and Ciel) and the progress is only for Arcueid's 8th day while currently Ciel 8th day is still untranslated, so perhaps the appropriate calling here would be 'Arcueid day 6 through 8 translated'. Oh yes it also has some other progress, with day 9 and 11 Arcueid show some progress (38% and 44% respectively) along with some of Ciel's route (Fully translated for day 1, three quarter translated for day 2, and 5% translated for day 3). As expected JAST did release Dead Aegis. As for Dead Aegis itself, first of all it's character was designed by Ueda Metawo who as we know drew some disturbing contents in Sadistic Blood so much that JAST offer a patch to give the mosaic to it. For Dead Aegis itself, it's more or less magical girl nukige that was been hyped up which make sense seeing that it's rare to see a lengthy magical girl VN (Beside Sakuramoyu). Dead Aegis here also has some interesting plot and the setting building from what I hear, namely that the higher up just using magical girl as the weapon in the space war and the only way to power them up was by having the magical girl being raped by the alien. So yeah it's obviously not a typical light magical girl series like Precure (Duh), and of course it has some disturbing sex scenes. Go get Dead Aegis if you want some magical girl nukige to play with some nice plot along with didn't mind the disturbing contents, and have fun. Last but not the least, we have Mashimaro released by Shiravune. As for Mahimaro, the most obvious things is that the setting is far more lighthearted compared to Dead End Aegis in that the MC did try to help a patisserie that has been left out by the customers. Obviously though the task is not easy seeing that it has some competitor with bigger capital and more popular, but our MC will obviously do everything to make sure it's successful as the repayment for the owner (Kanon, also one of the heroine) who help him when the MC was starved thanks to being kicked out from his house. Go get Mashimaro from Johren if you interested with charage that has patisserie setting, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - For the title since we have Mashimaro released I decided to parodied one of vocal song from KKPC in which case it's Ichika's 1st image song, Add the Berry to My Big Love, by changing 'Love' with 'Marshmallow' (I know that 'Berry' here is a pun for 'Very'). For the info, the opening song of Mashimaro here was sang by Tsukiyono Usagi (Marmallade here is not very subtle with Sailor Moon parody) who as we know is the idol in the second Primal x Hearts, and both of Usagi and Ichika here has rabbit as their animal motif (Translation Note: Usagi mean rabbit).1 point -
Grisaia no Somnium Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review. As for the title since we have Phantom Trigger Volume 8 Steam store was opened and the release date for Somnium 2 was already announced, I decided to combined the words from both so that we have 'Grisaia no Somnium' (ie 'The Gray-colored Dream' because 'Somnium' is the Latin word for 'Dream') as this week VNTS Review, and it should be obvious that it didn't mean that Frontwing develop yet another Grisaia in the middle of (Problematic) programming work for Sharin. For this week I can say that after last week with the number of interesting releases we finally have it calmed down with there's no much interesting thing happened in this week. Of course for some other people the news that we got at this week might be interesting to them seeing that there's still some updates happening, although in the end overall this week is rather plain one to me. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. Finally we have the Steam store for Phantom Trigger Volume 8 was opened, and yes it'll be simultaneous release with the version also has English language support. For the reminder the release date is still at February 25th, so you may note the date if one want to get the finale of Phantom Trigger that said will have triple times of text and voiced lines compared to the previous volumes. Hopefully the story would be worth of the bloated text and voiced lines, although seeing that it's the finale perhaps I should expect some actions like in Rakuen (Both has same writer after all). We also have Aojashin approved by Valve, so at least their controversial censorship didn't ended up for nothing like Evenicle 2. As for Somnium 2 (I'll call it as such instead of the official name (nirvanA Initiative)) exact release date, it'll be at June 24th later. For the reminder Somnium 2 will be available for PC and console, so you didn't need to buy the console just to play this. From fan translation we have Harugi was at 48% edited, Shin Koihime Musou was at 53% edited, Loverable was fully edited and yet the translation was still at 99.94% translated (Yeah I know it's quite confusing), Taimanin Kurenai was at three quarter translated, Eustia was at 94.41% in programming with Licia's chapter was at 70.27% in programming, and we also have Nursery Rhyme was halfway finished with the script insertion. As for Tsukihime Remake update we have Arcueid Day 11 was fully translated with Arcueid Day 10 was at 44% translated, and we also see some updates on Ciel route with Ciel Day 7 was at 5% translated and Ciel Day 8 was at 14% translated. Lastly we have Senmomo was at past a quarter (26.66%) edited with Chapter 2 was at 40.40% edited. That's all for this week VNTS Review and sorry if it's been quite short here. See you next week and happy Chinese New Year. PS - Forgot to mention that Shiravune managed to resolve the problem in regard of Nope Nope Nurse, so the VN is now back at Johren and of course it's also released on Steam so you can get the VN from Steam as well. Speaking of Steam, Shiravune also released Kamiyaba on Steam so you can get that on Steam if you prefer to buy Kamiyaba from Steam.1 point -
Aegis Record Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to my first VNTS Review in 2022, and as for the title since we have Magia Record (It's spinoff anime of Madoka that was adapted from the mobile game) along with Dead Aegis I decided to parodied the former by changing 'Magia' into 'Aegis' so we have 'Aegis Record' as the title. As for this week, even though there's no release yet I can still say that this week is no less good compared to the last week, mainly thanks to both of Shiravune and Nekonyan did announce the exact release date for both of their VNs (Mashimaro and Hello Lady respectively). Other than the release announcements, we also have some updates with one of those is from JAST in which they also announced their new releases as well. Overall this week is an interesting one to a degree, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. Since 2021 was already passed, it mean that age was not manage to release Total Eclipse as promised and therefore they need to revise the release year to be at 2022 later. Obviously it mean that there'll be more waiting for anyone else who've been looking forward to it, and I have no much to say other than good luck to age in regard of polishing the VN. As for newest JAST's release, it's Takahiro's (Majikoi writer for the reminder) newest work with the name 'Feast of Kurokami-sama' with the premise a mangaka (Doumaru) that was forced to hunt youkai by the titular Kurokami-sama, and said Kurokami herself is quite whimsical in which she can punish Doumaru with death if he do some mistakes. For more info, it's already ready for the release on Steam at 21st later with the English and Chinese languages are available. Other than the release date, it should be noted that Kurokami here is all age VN so don't expect the sex scenes, and in case you interested you can try the trial that has been available on Steam. As for fan translation update, for the first week 2022 here we have Harugi was at 45% edited, Onee-chan no Yuuwaku was at 90% translated and TLC-ed, Shin Koihime Musou was at 52% edited, Taimanin Kurenai was at 65% edited, Yoshitsune's route of Majikoi A-5 has 10 scripts worked on, Senmomo was at 23.67% edited with Chapter 2 was at 14.94% edited, Chaos Head Noah was at 20.92% TLC-ed, and both of Meiko's and Legend routes of Snow was already at above 30% translated (No idea whether the progress was share equally between two routes or one route has more progress compared to the other). Almost forgot to mention that Novectale decided to break the contract with Sekai in regard of Narkarma, and then they decided to develop the VN by themselves after they face several issues in the past. Good luck to Novectale there, and at least Sekai's backlog was decreased again even though it's not because of the release. For Hello Lady exact release date, according to Steam store it'll be at 21st later. While Nekonyan here didn't directly announce the release date for 18+ version yet, it should goes without saying that Nekonyan will release that version alongside Steam version if we remember their usual pattern. Anyway in case you've been waiting for Hello Lady release, you can note the date. For the aforementioned Mashimaro (Full title Ouchi ni Kaeru made ga Mashimaro Desu with the translated title 'Marshmallow All the Ways Home'), it's Marmalade VN that was released at 2017 between Primal Heart 2 and Study Steady. In Mashimaro here we'll have the MC who basically kicked out from the house and he only manage to get a place to sleep thanks to a patisserie's owner (Kanon), and in order to repay the kindness the MC decided to do his best to reinvigorate Kanon's patisserie that has been declining thanks to the famous competitor nearby. Oh yes, as for the release date it'll be at 7th later and as usual it's only available at Johren later. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Venus Blood Temptation Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
As for this week title, since we have Venus Blood Hollow released back at 26th along with Kimagure Temptation release back at last week, I figure that I'll just combined the words from both title so we have 'Venus Blood Temptation' as this week VNTS Review title, which to say might be a fitting title if Ninetails want to make a new Venus Blood game sometimes in the future. Back to the topic, and as for what I can say in regard of this week it would be it wasn't as active as the last week seeing that the companies wasn't as aggressive as the last week when it come to announce new licenses and released the VNs. But still this week is not too bad here, especially when it come to Hollow release and that some companies also already announced the exact release date for the VNs. Overall this week is a good one albeit not as exciting as the last week, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. In regard of the VNs that have the exact release date were announced, what I can say is that the VNs are not as interesting as Hollow. That said, at least artlink really prove that they want to localize all of Hachimitsu Soft VNs, and the next VN that they'd localize is Icing in that I'd say would be a nice title to be localized by artlink. Also yes they already prepared the release date for this, and it'll be at December 3rd later. Almost forget to mention that the premise is still like previous Hachimitsu Soft VNs with the MC will have lovely moment with his new wife, and this time he and his wife are also the rival in patissier work. Other than Icing, we also have Cheery Kiss will released their newest nukige (Maid for Pleasure) at December 10th later, and at the same date we'll also have Humbling of a Holy Maiden released. We also have Tokyo Onmyouji release estimation was announced, and it'll be at December. Lastly just in case you still waiting for Total Eclipse update, there's a new update in which they already completed the translation and currently the editing of it was in progress. Mangagamer finally have the updates, in which the last time they do that is way back at August if I remember right before they got busy with their Virtual Youtuber stuffs. As for the updates, there are four updates with three of those are in regard of the last week announcements, and turned out that those announcements are indeed their secret project. As for the updates, we have 11th project aka Raillore was at 61% translated along with 58% edited, 12th project aka Uuultra C was fully translated and edited, Uchi no Imouto was fully translated and edited as well, and Rance IX was fully edited along with the script insertion currently in progress. For this week fan translation updates, we have Eustia was at 93.69% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 66.43% TLC-ed (Or rather the translator just input the number into Excel spreadsheet because like I say beforehand the TLC of it was already finished), Harugi was at 39% edited, Mahoyo was at 66.32% edited, Onee-chan no Yuwaku was at 60% TLC-ed, and both of Ouka and Asahi routes of Snow were almost finished. Lastly we also have the update in regard of White Album 2 digital novel, and for the info they manage to finished one novel that was focused on Kazusa which mean that they'll finish the second novel which is focused on Setsuna. More importantly though, they'll prepare the patch if the second novel is finished so we can say that White Album 2 full translation patch here is almost close to the release. Last but not the least, we have Ninetails released Venus Blood Hollow (Or if you prefer original name Venus Blood Hypno) back at 26th, So far I like that Ninetails manage to fulfill their promise in regard of Kickstarter very seriously without much fuss, so it should be obvious that if one want to see some Kickstarter drama Ninetails is not the one that can provide it lol. As for the premise, we have Leonhardt who have been in misfortune because his family was perished thanks to the demon, and he'll do anything to take revenge to said demon. Of course the path to that goal won't be easy seeing that the demon is more powerful than him, and obviously he'll need a lot of power. Said power is obviously manifest in form of tentacle, and from there he'll absorb the power and corrupt the powerful female using the tentacle if it mean that he'll get more power. Anyway you can play it by yourself if you want to see more of it (It's gameplay VN for the reminder), and have fun. Note that it should be goes without saying that there'll be a lot of rape using the tentacle, in that it shouldn't be too surprising if you've been playing Frontier in the past. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - Ninetails just launched the Kickstarter for Venus Blood Frontier fandiscs, and as for the goal it's only at 1,200,000 yen because it's not a full length VNs like both of the main game and Hollow with 13 days left. As for the current situation, well let's just say that it's almost funded with gathered fund was already passed 1,100,000 yen.1 point -
Kagome Roulette Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have Axanael officially started the translation with sizeable progress along with the VN has the variation of Russian Roulette game called Kagome Games, I make a parody of Russian Roulette so we have 'Kagome Roulette' as this week VNTS Review. As for this week, we have a number of significant updates when it come to fan translation such as the aforementioned Axanael or Akagoei, while at the same time there's no much update from official side other than the releases of those two underrated VNs (I know that Nekonyan give us interesting updates at this morning, but I'll save those updates for the next week). Overall I can say that this week is more interesting because it has more activities, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. Cherry Kiss released their elf nukige back at 10th, and no much to say other than go play it if you've been interested with it and have fun. The second official release is Olympie Soiree back at 9th in which it has more interesting story, although too bad that there's no PC version of it because Aksys only release it for Switch (Aksys really need to releases their otome VN in Steam so that the player who only have PC can play it as well). For the reminder the premise is about the female MC from a rare color and thus she need to marry one of six heroes in order to have the descendant to continue the color so that the color didn't die out, and yeah there's also the matter of the setting in that the color is more important than a life. In any case, if you want to see more of the story and have Switch then you can try it and have fun. For the roundup of fan translation updates, we have Chiccakunai Mon was at 82.5% translated, Harugi was at 24% edited, Shin Koihime Musou was at 49% edited, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 20% proofread. I didn't mention this back at last week, so let me mention that since White Album 2 was already in playtesting stage it should goes without saying that the editing for all parts (Including Coda) is already finished, and it mean that all that left is the playtest before it finally ready for the release. We also have Senmomo had the spreadsheet to show their editing progress (The link to the spreadsheet), and for the current progress its's been at 6.1% edited with the Chapter 1 was at 36.05% edited. They also have plan to release the trial patch at this year's end in order to clear suspicion about Senmomo was MTL-ed, so good luck to them in regard of that. There's a good news for Akagoei fans, and it's that the translator finally finished the translation for the whole VN and that he released the patch that cover Aya's route as well in which it only cover her route seeing that currently only that route was already finished all of the process (Including editing and QA). Since Akagoei here designed as the trilogy, it's only natural that one should play the FD as well. Thus our translator here already translated two routes of the FD, and he already finished both of common and Reika/Kyouka After with him currently preparing to work on Tae After. So yeah you'll need to wait for a while in order to play the whole trilogy in English, but at least you can play the first part in the near future (You can also try to play Aya's route first and here's the download link for the patch). As for Axanael, I admit that I didn't see that the translator can continuing it seeing that there's several trial releases that ended up didn't have the full game translated. Of course turned out that my prediction is wrong because we see some good progress on Axanael with the translator did gather some very well known helper, with two of the helper did work on Committee of Zero and both of them work on the engine and image work to put it simply. Oh yes as for the progress currently it has been at 30% translated with common route was already fully translated along with the team already translate a quarter of route A. For the info, Axanael here has quite an unique route system with the routes were called A, B, and C, and the next plan is that they'll translate the rest of two routes in alphabetical order after route A translation is completed (You can read more on the translator's Tweet thread here). Lastly I'll say good luck to the translation team of Axanael there. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
The Maid of Sortilège Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Since we have both of Jeanne at the Clock Tower released alongside Kirikoi, I decided to combined both element from both work for this week VNTS Review title. For the info, Jeanne here is based on the story of Joan of Arc (Loosely at that) and that one of her alias is 'The Maid of Orleans', so obviously I changed 'Orleans' into 'Sortilège' in which the latter is the fictional country in Kirikoi. As for this week, well I can say that it's quite exciting seeing that we have a number of the releases with the most interesting one is Kirikoi along with several new VNs announcements. Of course we have some updates as well, and this week we have Sekai announced their updates as well. Overall I can say that this is an active week, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Mangagamer did release Jeanne back at 10th, and as we know it's Liar-soft VN which if we remember will dealing with the characters from alternative history in which we have our MC who is a soldier of World War 2 somehow travelled into somewhere and he manage to encounter the female who call her self Jeanne who as we know is the French name of Joan. Together both of them will see on how Joan of Arc did shape the history of France and Europe as the whole, or at least according to what Mangagamer's Translator Corner of Jeanne said. It also available for Linux and Macintosh as well seeing that Mangagamer did port this to Ren'py engine, so good for Linux or Macintosh users. Anyway go get Jeanne if you want to play Liar-soft, and have fun. Also since Mangagamer did release one of their VN, it mean that they'll announce their next release and in this case they'll release Memorajo at July 15th later so you may note the date if you want to read the sequel of Amrilato. We have Moonchime Localization announced their new two VNs that will be released at this year, and those two VNs are Tokyo Onmyouji (Has sex scenes for the reminder) and My Dear Frankenstein in which both of the VNs are BL VNs because Moonchime Localization is a localization company that was focused on BL VNs translation. Not my taste to say it lightly, but at least you can read it if you interested with those two and perhaps you may find the story interesting (Some BL VNs can have interesting story after all (ie Dramatical Murder and Hashihime)). We also have the Steam store for Taisho Alice Epilogue was opened, and there's already the release date for it in which it'll be at 24th later so you may note the date if you want to read the last part of Taisho Alice there. Lastly, today we have otome VN release with the name Bakumatsu Renka Shinsengumi with the setting is in historical Japan, so go get that if you interested and have fun. Sekai did reveal their third Secret Project, and turned out it's Slobbish Dragon Princess FD that will be released at 22nd later. Considering that it's quite fast of them to localize the FD, I assume that Sekai already has the plan to localize the unreleased sequel as well so let's wait and see if my assumption here is true later. Other than that, we have KARAKARA 3 was fully translated and Kimagure was 20% in QA. From fan translation, we have Steps to Love full translation patch release, and no much to say other than go get that if you're been wanting to play the nukige that has a lot of footjob (The title should tell enough that it's the main fetish lol). For the rest of fan translation updates, we have Taimanin Kurenai was at 35% translated, Gore Screaming Show was at 21.79% translated, Harugi was at 17% edited, and Eustia was at 91.48% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 51.48% TLC-ed. JAST did release Meteor Pendulum heart back at 11th, and from what I see it's more or less just a nukige with space police setting which to say may be nice to play if you're in the mood of short nukige. While it has transformation scene akin of magical girl, I would say that it's a stretch to call Pendulum Heart as magical girl VN. Anyway go get Pendulum Heart if you interested with it and have fun. By the way I'm still waiting for Yamizome Revenger in that JAST did say that they'll release it at this year, so let's see if they can fulfill what they say later. I also like to say something in regard of JAST recent policy in which they'd release the download version first following with physical version release later, and I must say that it's good policy of them because it mean that they can keep the release pace with both of Sekai and Mangagamer which as we can see now JAST manage to release six VNs in half a year (Perhaps their slow release pace in the past was caused by the preparation for physical version). Here's hoping JAST can keep this release pace in the future. Nekonyan did release Kirikoi in which it's the first Saga Planet VN available in English, and what you should expect is that it has blonde girl as the main heroines along with red-haired side heroine with the setting was in the academy that turned out to have the same name as the school in GPPC. Also one should note that it has some of threesome sex scenes in which turned out that it cause some people to have some complicated if not absurd reaction, and that some of the ending is quite unexpected for this seemingly lighthearted charage. So go get Kirikoi from one of the available stores (ie Steam, Mangagamer, Fakku, or Denpasoft) and have fun. One more thing to note that Nekonyan did port the engine, and the result is that it has some bugs (You can still play Kirikoi though). I'm still think that Nekonyan is right though for porting the engine, especially if we look at on how long Akatsuki Works tweaking the engine of Hello Lady and not to mention Sekai in that they need to wait for the engine of their VNs, and if anything else at least the porting result is better compared to the one in Lamunation. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - I know that both of JAST and Alka did announce new projects which to say are quite interesting, but I'll save the talk on those projects for next VNTS Review.1 point -
Clock Tower at the Beach Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I combined 'Clock Tower' from Jeanne at the Clock Tower that will be released later along with this week nukige release (Big Dick at the Beach), so we have 'Clock Tower at the Beach' as this week VNTS Review title (By the way I also find out that there's a real clock tower in the beach in which it's place of interest at Monteral). As for this week, well if not for Nekonyan's updates at yesterday it would be a dry week seeing that we only have one nukige release from Cherry Kiss. That said, at least there's fault side below so actually it wouldn't quite bad even if Nekonyan didn't give the update yesterday seeing that side below is the long awaited new part of fault VN that has hiatus for six years. Overall combined with Nekonyan's updates this week is yet another average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review. Cherry Kiss did release their nukige with the daring title that I mentioned above, and no much to say other than go play that if you're interested with it and have fun. Speaking of nukige, JAST did announce that they'll release their newest release with the title Meteor Pendulum Heart (Real title Ryuusei Pendulum Heart) at 11th later. From what I see apparently it has space police heroine along with the aforementioned space police can change the costume through transformation scene so perhaps it can be said like magical girl, although saying that it's magical girl would be a stretch. I know that I should praise JAST to finally get six releases in half a year regardless on how big the releases in question are, but I still want to see them to finally released Yamizome Revenger here. Other than that, it seems that JAST has a plan to announce something interesting later so let's see if the announcements is as interesting as they're implied (One of those interesting announcements could be Flowers Hiver). Finally we have release announcement for Fault 2 Side Below, and the release will be at September later (Hopefully the developer already taken care of their own problem so we didn't need to wait for years for the sequel). Granted that they're quite late because they did announce that they'll release it at Spring in the past (To be fair it's just estimation), but at least they're still on time for spring release in Australia lol. Oh yes they already opened the Steam store for it, so you can check the store page here. From fan translation, no much to say in regard of that other than we have A-4 was fully TLC-ed (Yes now A-4 here has TLC status), and Chaos Head Noah was 95.04% translated (Common route was at 93.07% translated) along with 13.52% TLC-ed and 7.33% edited. As for Nekonyan's update yesterday, turned out that they have two new secret projects with both of those are already have some progress (1st project was at 80% translated and 2nd project was at 40% translated). No idea what the projects are, so no choice other than waiting Nekonyan reveal those two secret projects. For the rest of their updates, we have Karichaimashita almost finished the editing work with the current progress was at 98% edited, Melty Moment was at 70% translated, Cafe Stella was at 60% translated and edited, Mirai Radio was at 70% edited, Makeover FD started the translation progress with the current progress was at 5% translated, and Aoi Tori was at 45% translated. Looking from the progress, it seems possible that Nekonyan will also released Karichsimashita along with Clover Day's at this year, so let's wait to see if my guess will become true later. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
Sweets Castle Meister Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to my belated (Again) VNTS Review (I really should try to writing earlier at next VNTS Review), and as for this week I can say that complicated would be the right word. I didn't mean that this week update is bad though, but rather the reason is because we have complicated situation surrounding Amayui narration patch released in which the translator did admit that it was MTL-ed. It would be easy if the translation is really bad as per usual MTL, but since it's quite readable if not good naturally one would defend it and so the argument did happen a lot. Other than controversial Amayui narration patch release, we have Nekonyan and Mangagamer updates so if one did ignore Amayui's update this week would be still interesting thanks to the updates from the companies. Now let's see what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review, and I'll tell the meaning of the title at PS later. Another reason on why Amayui situation is complicated is that because I decided to help the translator to clean up the interface, which to say is quite messy because of the default interface programming from Eushully. So even if VNDB allowed Amayui translation to be added, I still won't say that it's complete because the interface is still in the working and obviously it'll need some time before it's ready. That said since some people did say that the narration patch is readable, I would say that it's okay to read it as long as you already decided to read the narration patch even if you know that the translation is MTL, and yes all of the sex scenes are translated as well. So just in case that you decided to read the available narration patch and ready to accept the consequence, you can get the patch from this link here and have fun. We finally have Verdelish fully translated Slow Damage, and if I'm right all that left is the editing along with QC progress which to say may take a while before finally we can see JAST released Slow Damage (The plan is that JAST will release Slow Damage several months after the Japanese version of it was released). We also have Shiravune did announce that they'll release Eden's Ritter Gaiden tomorrow, and what I can say is that you better expected dark nukige with big breast (Same developer as Funbag) along with some formulaic magical girl story with one of female can transform into her battle attire (Not that I'm complaining about it). Oh yes it's also will be available in Steam, which mean at least we didn't need to worry in regard of bypassed the Denuvo DRM just like previous two Megasuki VNs. Speaking of big breast VNs, I know that Frontwing did just release their big breast VN today but I'll talk more on it later. For fan translation, other than controversial Amayui full (Machine) translated narration patch we have Taimanin Kurenai was at 20% translated, Harugi was at 13% edited, Summer Pockets original lines was at 78.8% reworked, and Shin Koihime Musou was at 45% edited. That's all for fan translation updates at this week. Mangagamer did release Funfag Fantasy 3if, and have fun if you want to play big breast VN. Since Mangagamer did release a VN, obviously they'll announce their next release and in this case they'll release Jeanne at June 10th later. Other than release, this time Mangagamer did bring a number of updates with Moral Orc was at 95% translated along with 69% edited, Christmas Tina was fully translated and edited, both of Uchikano and Trinoline Genesis along with 8th secret project are in testing, 6th secret project was at 89% translated along with 81% edited, and finally we have Rance X update with the current progress was at 34% translated along with 3% edited (IX editing work was also going nicely with the current status was at 62% edited). We also have Mangagamer bring up three more secret projects with the progress 10th was at 84% translated along with 71% edited, 11th was at 38% translated along with a quarter edited, and 12th was at 58% translated along with 56% edited. I just hope that the secret projects would be less passionate (ie less nukige) and more focused in story (ie more story VNs), and that's all for Mangagamer's updates. As usual Nekonyan did bring some interesting updates once per month, although sadly there's no Hello Lady update yet so for now I can only hope that Akatsuki Works will get better programmer so that they can work on the engine more efficiently. As for the updates, we have Cafe Stella was both at 55% translated and edited, Melty Moment finally have another update with the current status was at 65% translated, Mirai Radio was at 60% edited, Aoi Tori was at 40% translated, and Karichaimashita was fully translated along with 90% edited and 10% in QA. Actually Kirikoi here has some update as well, although since Nekonyan did have good ability to release within their promised estimation release time and that they'll say that they'll release it at May's end at first I figure that I won't list that update here, but since some people would surely like to know the current progress of Kirikoi I figure that I should list it here as well. For the detail, the current progress of Kirikoi was that the editing was almost completed (99% edited) along with 60% in QA. That's all for the updates from Nekonyan. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - For the info, since one of Sugar * Style heroine has same name as KKPC pink Precure (Ichika), obviously I parodied KKPC once again and in this case it's Sweets Castle in that it was used by KKPC near the end of the series. Of course I changed the word 'Amayui' into 'Sweets, so we have 'Sweets Castle Meister' as this week VNTS Review. That said, Amayui itself can also mean sweets seeing that the word 'ama' here mean sweet (I know the kanji 'ama' in the title mean heaven), so you can literally translate Amayui as 'sweets' here.1 point -
Ritsuko the Apocalypse Maiden Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (08/05/2017) I decided to make all of the VNTS Review that I couldn't created earlier because the forum was down, or just as Tay said 'FuwApocalypse'. Keep in mind that for this VNTS review it might be disjointed, because I tried to write the info based on the VNTS rather than current updates so I might be wrong on several data here (Also sometimes I attempted to write this based on the day I read VNTS). As for the title for the first post apocalypse VNTS Review, I decided to go with 'Ritsuko the Apocalypse Maiden' (Sorry in regard of this beforehand if you Ritsuko hardcore fans) because back at 5th the forum was already down for a few days, and we had Ritsuko as VNTS image. So I just combined the trope 'Apocalypse Maiden' and Ritsuko for the title, and let's see what I could write in regard of past VNTS. As for Mangagamer, considering that it was already two weeks since their last update it's quite unusual that they didn't had the update for this week. But then again perhaps right now they preparing for the Otakon later, and since they had six titles announcements planned perhaps they need some time to preparing themselves. Well, guess I'm gonna to be looking forward to their Otakon announcements later. I knew that it's quite ironic to said that today after Otakon was already ended days ago, and most importantly their announcements were quite a letdown to me here. No updates from Mangagamer aside, they did open the preorder for Seabed at their site earlier which mean that at least Fruitbat already got the release date and it would be at December 26th later. Speaking about that date, it was had some history with my country (Indonesian) that a big tsunami happened on that day back at 2004, and it's quite ironic that Seabed was had sea in the title (Very obvious). Other than Seabed which for now I was interested with, there's Subahibi kickstarter in which it was quite successful considering that it was almost managed to fully funded within the first days of their Kickstarter (Almost 76,000 funded), and therefore it's almost obviously gonna reach the goal (80,000) in the few days. Speaking about Kickstarter, there's Sakusakura which already set their Kickstarter target at 24,000 with their Prefundia. Considering that the team was the new player for VN localization, perhaps there's bound one or two mistakes from them in regard of Kickstarter but nevertheless good luck to their Kickstarter. For fan translation section, there's some usual update here along with two projects which were completed the translation progress. For the updates, we had Eustia at 18.55% translated, 12.44% edited, and 12.1% TLC-ed; Majokoi was at 91% edited; Kanobito was at 6% translated for the new progress (Turned out that the new translator was TBAC); Pure Pure was at 21.48% translated; Tsukiyori was at 9.8% translated and 5.9% edited; Tsujidou was at 38.06% for overall (Ai's route was past halfway (58.66%) translated; and Loverable was at 83.39% translated (Nanako's was at 76.82% translated) and halfway (50.29%) TLC-ed. For the completed progress there's Clover Days and Sansha Mendan. For Sansha Mendan, well to be honest I didn't care about that but I think it'll be good if Quof want to continue Lovely x Cation because from what I knew the old project was sort of inactive, so hopefully he could managed to completely translated that. Good luck to the new project there, and looking forward to his Lovely x Cation 2 project as well (Quof was also said that he will translated the 2nd title as well). As for Clover Days, actually it should be very good news considering that it was at 100% translated. However, knowing that Astro was quite busy as Sekai translator project perhaps it would be a long time before finally we could see Clover Days release (Not to mention that apparently there's a lot of editing and QC work left), and that's not to mention another reason that perhaps I shouldn't say it here because it's just my speculation here. But regardless of what would happen with Clover Days project in the future, I hope the best for the project and hope we could enjoy the translated version of that sooner or later. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and I'll write my commentary about Otakon here. See you next week.1 point -
Please Pat Me Seriously Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (12/27/2020) Welcome to my last VNTS Review for 2020, and merry belated Christmas (Also I'm sorry for being late here). As for this week, we have (Redundant) Majikoi release from JAST back at Christmas day and Sekai belated release of Amairo Chocolata English version, so I can say that it's still good to see official company release some VNs for Christmas. Other than the releases from the official, there's two releases from fan translation section with one of the VN has some complication behind the release. Of course we still have some updates, and most of the updates are comes from fan translation section. Overall I can say that this is yet another exciting week, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. I'll tell the title for my last 2020 VNTS Review at PS later. Cherry Kiss did release yet another of their nukige with the title Angel Sex Pet, and they release it back at 24th. No much to say other than it's a nukige about on how the MC turned the angel into his sex slave, and that it's quite old seeing that it's 2009 VN. Go get that if you've been interested with it and have fun. Sekai finally did release Chocolata after they decided to release it in Chinese first, which to say not the most favorable decision for the people who can't read Chinese (I just hope that this and Koiama 2 are the only VNs that Sekai did Chinese language release first). As for Amairo, it's about the MC who can see the animal ear of the cafe workers who turned out to hybrid beast (ie catgirl and doggirl). No much to say other than go get Chocolata if you've been wanting to read it in English, and have fun. We also have PQube announce that they'll release Bustafellows at 2021 later, and it's an otome VN with the premise that the female MC is a journalist that has special power that allow her to leap into the past for a short time by using other people body. No much to say for now other than it's also available for PC as well, so at least it should be good for otome fan who only have PC to play the VN. JAST did release Majikoi back at Christmas, and first of all I would say that it's a redundant release because we already have it translated since back at 2015. That said, perhaps you may try it if you find the older version of Majikoi has inconsistent translation because it's been translated by two different groups in the past, and have fun if you play new version of Majikoi. Also apparently 70% of the voices was cut down because of the VA license which to say is quite expensive seeing that some of Majikoi's VAs are very well known VAs which cause it to be quite costly to license, and with two of the VAs (Tsukada Maasaki and Fujiwara Keiji) are already passed away it mean that JAST need to do some paperwork's to license the voices which to say would take too much effort. Fortunately there's some fans who released the patch that add the voice for JAST version, so that the player who play JAST version of Majikoi didn't need to play partially voiced VN. Almost forget to mention that there's an update in regard of Slow Damage, and currently it's been at 18% translated. There's surprise release of partial patch of Majikoi A-5 in that it cover Margit and Harem's route, although I would say that it's obviously just another Majikoi fandisc and other than first Majikoi all of it's other VNs are fandisc (Yes including S which by the staffs admission they initially planned it as such only to upped it as sequel in the middle of the development). That said if you want to see more Margit, go get A-5 partial patch here and have fun. We also have Taimanin Yukikaze 2 full patch released, in which once again it'll follow Yukikaze's story. As for the premise Yukikaze need to infiltrate a dangerous facility as her mission, and of course it's only inevitable that she'll raped in many ways seeing that it's nukige and all. Go get the patch if you interested with it, and have fun. By the way I would say that Yukikaze's breast here is quite flat compared to many other Black Lilith heroines, so at least she can be nice to look if you've been bored of big breast heroines lol. For the rest of the updates, we got Eustia was at 58.62% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 35.31% TLC-ed, Loverable was at 93.92% edited, Harugi was at almost three quarter (74%) translated with Yuuna's route was past three quarter (79%) translated along with Misaki's route was at 20% translated, and Reflection Blue was at 88.4% edited with Shiki's route was past halfway (59.1%) edited. There's also Pure x Connect update as well, although I'll save it for my next VNTS Review at next year. No much that I can comment in regard of the updates other than it's nice to see some progress in Eustia's TLC, and if you want to help the TLC feel free to contact the editor or the translator (The Reddit thread in regard of that for more info). When it come to GHS (George Henry Shaft), normally what I can see is that the guy himself is quite infamous with his Cross Channel translation that apparently quite bad. His past works are quite random just like Pulltop, in that either of those are redundant (The aforementioned Cross Channel), less known, or have questionable format (Chaos Child Love Chu Chu, in which he released it in form of video). With that resume normally I would dismiss his release, but not this time because turned out his release back at Christmas is Gekkou no Carnevale in which it's one of Nitroplus VN that is quite well known to a degree. As for the premise it's about our MC Romeo who work as taxi driver and ironically he's quite blind when it come to direction, although he has some secret in that he also a werewolf who ran away from the mafia. One day he met a female living doll with the name Anna, and turned out she's quite cheerful. From there both of Romeo and Anna try to live their best while at the same time they need to fend some enemies that come in their way (And naturally it mean that Romeo need to fight). Go get Carnevale patch if you want to try it despite the translator infamy (Personally I would suggest you to try the patch first before dismissed it as badly translated, but to each of their own), and have fun. That's all for my last VNTS Review in 2020 here, and see you next year. PS - For the title, since we have Majikoi released along with Angel Sex Pet, I decided to just parodied the second part of Majikoi full title (Please Love Me Seriously) by changing 'Love' with 'Pat' so that we have 'Please Pat Me Seriously' as this week VNTS Review. Note that I use 'Pat' instead of 'Pet' here, because the former is more polite and that both words sounds similar.1 point -
Kirara x Wataru Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Foreword - Since we already knew that Decay would gonna be busy in regard of Nekonyan seeing that he's one of their staff and admin Tay was still absent (Probably from travelling), predictably we didn't have VNTS for this week as well. So one again I decided to write this week VNTS Review, and I hope that you'll enjoy this week VNTS Review. As for this week title, I understand if most of the user here wouldn't understand it just by looking it alone, so I'll explain the title first. For the information about who is Kirara and Wataru both of those two were the characters from Go Princess PreCure (GPPC), in which the former was a PreCure while for the latter he's the big brother of Kirara's fellow PreCure. As for the shipping, I'd read that the coupling for those two characters were quite well known albeit very subtle because there's more prominence shipping at GPPC there. Obviously I wouldn't talk about the GPPC shippings here, but instead I'd use the shipping as the seiyuu joke here because we have Hello Lady announcement from Nekonyan. For more detail here, the seiyuu for Wataru was Okitsu Kazuyuki who voiced Hello Lady badass MC Shinri Narita using pseudonym Umesaki Charlie, while the seiyuu for Kirara was Yamamura Hibiku and in Hello Lady she was voicing Katsuragi Sorako using pseudonym Mizusaki Lime. My rambling aside, this week we have exciting announcements from Nekonyan and an average one from Sol Press. Other than the announcement from those two companies, we have some updates from both of fan translation and Mangagamer. Speaking about fan translation, seeing that some of the official translator was probably the fan of their work and we saw many of fan translation project going official, perhaps rather than fan translation it would be fitting to call it unofficial translation. But still I understand though if people felt that the word 'unofficial' could be sounds rude for the people who do the translation, so I'll just keep the term 'fan translation' here. Anyway, welcome to this week VNTS Review and let's see what I can write for this week as well. No big update from Sekai at this week, but it seems to be the norm for them so whatever. I know that there's some background work in regard of their projects, but so far there's no visible progress on their bigger announcement such as Senren Banka and Nanairo, with the former is going to be ironic because Nekonyan managed to get first official release of Yuzusoft VN (Sanoba). That aside, even if I say 'no big update' it didn't mena that Sekai didn't have any update for this week because they still have one small update, and it was in regard of the exact release date for Love'S Sweet Garnish aka Koiama. The premise was looks like usual moege with cafe, so I'll just pass on this for now. As for fan translation more or less it's another usual week, although too bad though that Summer Pocket demo release was delayed again and this time they want to look up the script so the estimation release date for now was unknown until it was announced (Hope the best for the team). Speaking about delayed, Astro did say that there's some mess in regard of Clover Days so he couldn't release it because of some legal matter or something like that, so safe to say that perhaps he did messed up in regard of the project. I hope that the mess in regard of Clovers Days were sorted out now that the project was in torpor (Because Astro didn't say that it was dead), if only for the sake of the translator (Ittaku) - sorry for going personal here. For the progress, we have Eustia was at 50.42% translated along with 41.07% edited, Harugi's overall was at 15% translated with Toko's route was past halfway (51%) translated and Branch was at 26% translated (Along with 13% edited), Pure Pure was at 82.31% translated with Tobari's route was at 32.71% translated, and Watamasu show another progress with current progress was at 14% translated. From Mangagamer, we saw in Twitter that they indeed finished the translating and editing processes for Haretaka, and since we already knew about that back at Otakon we can treat the tweet as a direct confirmation from Mangagamer. For now I just wonder when they'll do the beta testing for Haretaka, and I hope that they'll do it in the near future. Other than Haretaka, we have Maggot Bait was at 95% translated (Good job to Kouryuu for almost survive in Maggot Bait), Amrilato was both fully translated and edited, Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 was fully translated, Son Nyl was at 58% translated, Trinoline was at 80% edited, Sukehime was at 10% translated, and Escalayer was at 72% translated along with 56% edited (Good job for the progress there Quof). Also while this is not included in their Twitter, the crowdfund for Overdrive's Swan Song (MUSICA) was already going and right now they almost gathered 90 million yen or in dollar it would be at 800,000. Even though we still don't know much about this, I'll going to keep my eyes on this since looking from the base goal alone it looks interesting. Other There'll be much to talk about Nekonyan's announcements here, but before that let's see some roundup for this section first. Since August here was already ended, obviously the KS for Frontier was delayed and therefore they'll set up the new month in which it'll be at this month - I just hope that they didn't keep delaying it to the next month each time the month ended. There's neighbor as well, in which they already released the demo for the backer. While I did saw some good news about this, unfortunately the graphic was quite bad so I would pass on this. Although of course it might have some potential, just like Fata Morgana. We also have Punchline VN release, in which it was adaptation from the anime series with new scenario. While the staff behind it looks promising with Uchikoshi work as the writer with both of Nakazawa (As senior director) and Abo (As other composer), it would be quite hard for them to have Punchline to be equal to Ever17 (Those three people were work together in Ever17) because the premise itselves were quite absurd in the first place. The premise for Punchline itself is that we have a boy who have a curse that if he saw woman's panties twice he'll be dead and a meteor would destroy the Earth (There'll be alot of that seeing that this is one of fanservice anime), and yet it shouldn't be a problem to a boy himself because he have an ability to travel back in time as a ghost to fix up his mistake. I'm definitely don't make up the premise here, because it's the real premise itself. So if you want to see of how both of Nakazawa and Uchikoshi handle the game itself, you need to approach it with open mind very much just to accept the premise. Anyway, as for the release it was released for Europe back at August 31st, with both of USA and PC version coming later. Have fun if you've been interested with the anime and want to try the VN itself. Once again back at this week we have big two announcements from Nekonyan, and those two were the projects that most people were been wanted to be localized. In regard of Nekonyan itself, I think so far they show that they'd eager to improve more in regard of the release so I would like to see more of them in the future, especially in regard of their two additional secrets announcement after Sanoba release. For now I just hope that they'll be able to handle the works himself seeing that they currently have to work on nine projects with three were working on and the other six (Including two big announcements and two secret projects) were in work, and hopefully the won't suffer the burnout too much because of too much projects. For the first announcement itself, it was Hello Lady in which it's one of the VN that I've been interested into as GPPC fan, mainly because of the seyuu themselves like I said before lol. Although if one want to see it from the VN itself, it was a chuuni VN which told the story about Narita who is quite capable transferred onto the high class school and managed to become the member of student council which mostly comprised girls (Eroge and all). Of course seeing that Narita himself is quite capable and badass, naturally he'd have dark past which cause him to have one goal in his mind and it was revenge. Almost forget that we also have some sort of special ability seeing that it's chuuni VN and all, so we'll see more action just like back at Comyu (Same developer). For unrelated notes here, from what I saw usually the MC from Akabei Soft and it's branch (Including Hello Lady developer Akatsuki Works) were quite capable and well developed, so once again if one want capable MC then Hello Lady should be good enough. As we know, their second announcement is Aokana in which it did go through drama road before finally saw the chance to be localized here. Before the announcement, most of the people were correctly predict that it'll be localized by Nekonyan seeing that Sprite already tweet that it'll be localized overseas, although their wording is questionable though (Overseas transplant) so I'm worried that SG might get this. For the drama, it's interesting to mention that both Ren and Astro did work together, and it's quite unfortunate that they didn't managed to finish the project properly because of the discord that happened, so much that the project was cursed. Enough about the past and let's try to talk about the premise, in which we'll gonna have the heroines will do Flying Circus (FC) with magical girl like tight body suit along with MC as the retired FC athlete did the coaching. The FC itself did have enough detail for a fictional sport, so perhaps Japan can make an exhibition match for that at Olympic 2020 later lol. Seeing that the girl was look like a magical girl in their suit, I'll look forward to the release. For the release plan of those two Nekonyan announcements, they said that they'll launch it at Q2 2019 later with Hello Lady first and after that Aokana at summer later, which is quite fitting flr the latter case seeing that Aokana time setting was in summer. Also they plan to release it a console port version and they'll add 18+ patch for the releases, which is not a big deal more than it sounds because both announcements did have low sexual content and I'm sure that there's no problem if they cut the sex scenes. They also work together with Hikari Field, in which if we remember was responsible with Tayutama 2 infamous translation, so Nekonyan here may have license Tayutama in the future. That's all that I can write for now, and see you next week. PS - I'd just realize that I forgot to write about Sol Press announcement (Daresora), so I'll write about that at next VNTS Review.1 point -
9 -Nine- Episode 1: Hoshizora Miyako Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Foreword - No VNTS again, so you know what it means (I'll write another my own VNTS Review here). Either way, I hope that you'll enjoy this week VNTS Review even though I'm quite late here. Since yesterday we have Chinese New Year, I'd been quite busy for two days beforehand so I'm sorry for being late here. Also happy Chinese New Year to anyone else who celebrated it, including me. As for the title, since we have Nine first part released I thought that it would be the best to parodied Nine first episode along with both of the main heroines of that work (Kujou Miyako) and Smile PreCure (Hoshizora Miyuki) into the combined name '9 -Nine- Episode 1: Hoshizora Miyako' because both of their character designer (Izumi Tsubasu for Miyako and Kawamura Toshie for Miyuki) work together in Mashiro Iro Symphony anime, and more importantly both of Miyako and Miyuki did share same seiyuu (Fukuen Misato). My ramble aside, I really like that finally Sol Press did their move on both of their rather big announcements (Irotoridori Kickstarter (KS) and Hitotsuba release) and that they already aggressive on that so we should be more interested with them in the future. Other than Sol Press big move, we have usual fan translation updates along with some updates from Nekonyan so let's see what I can write for this VNTS Review here. First of all I knew that Pulltop did delay their release for their Konosora FD into February because they'd await Steam approval, which is we knew is been indecisive in regard of the censorship. My feeling in regard of that was quite mixed to be honest because while this could be a good slap for Pulltop to not release their work on Steam and started to sell their uncensored VNs on any other store (Beside Steam), this announcement could also mean that some developer would be over censor their localized VNs in order to fulfill Steam's indecisive censorship policy. In the end while I didn't look forward to Konosora FD much, I just hope that we still can see more VNs on Steam despite some happening like HGB and Konosora FD here. We also have Noraneko release announcement here, and let's just said that we better wait for Senren Banka because the three heroines of Noraneko did share same seiyuu as Senren Banka (Kirihana, Sendai, and Kotori Yuka). One more reason for that is because it'll be censored according to the opening that I saw in which they use seiyuu's real name instead of their pseudonym (I did see that they list 'Eri Sendai' instead of 'Haruka Sora', in which the latter is Sendai's pseudonym in the eroge's credit), which mean that they'll release PS4 version instead of the default 18+ version. Let's just hope that they uploaded the wrong opening (Because they deleted the opening) and that they'll release 18+ version later, because I can see that the team could fix their mistake in regard of their introduction intro at their website so at least they should be able to hear some feedback from the fans. From Sekai we have Nine first episode released with the premise the MC who is full voiced (His seiyuu is Atsuhi Abe if you curious) did caught up in mysterious incident case, and while at it he encountered some people with superpower. While this is definitely a VN with interesting premise and have the art drawn by Izumi Tsubasu to boot (The art is very good), it's quite unfortunate that Nine here is the episodic VN which mean that currently the story is still incomplete although from what I see apparently each episode will cover one heroine. In this case the main heroine for the Episode 1 here would be Kujou Miyako who is a rich businessman daughter and yet she's like to live humbly and very calculating when spending the money. In any case, we need to wait for 2020 (Estimation) if we want to enjoy it fully because even Palette didn't create the 4th episode yet, and even longer if we rely on the translated version like us because we wouldn't know if Sekai will announce the rest of Nine here (They should announce those parts if they want to sell the complete story). Have fun to anyone else who already been interested into Nine, despite that it's still the first chapter. From fan translation, we have Eustia was at 65.82% translated along with 45.86% edited and 44.47% TLC-ed, Harugi's overall was at 55% translated with Shino's route was at 96% translated and Branch was at 47% translated (Along with 47% TLC-ed) - I'm kind of curious of how the progress will be going after Shino's route is finished, Watamasu was at 42% translated, Higurashi Yoigoshi's patch was released and the current progress for Tokihogushi was fully ported, 4,719 lines from Pure x Connect were translated along with 1,258 lines of it were edited, Relaxation Yuka was at 66.46% translated, and Hoshiori's overall was at 70.84% translated with Touko's route was fully translated (We may have Touko's patch at this weekend, although I didn't know for certain though). I think that's all for fan translation updates. We have some updates from Nekonyan, in which we have Fureraba FD as their next release. As for their other updates, we have Aokana was at past halfway (60%) translated along with 20% edited and Sukiren was reach 90% mark translated along with halfway edited. From Sol Press we have Hitotsuba exact release date in which they'll release it at 15th later so at least we can treat it as Valentine's gift from Sol Press, and they already set the store at Steam (Good that it's still not banned) so you should pre-order that if you interested with the VN. I admit that the costumes were not as interesting as Aokana, but perhaps this one could be interesting seeing that it involving plane fight as the in-game fictional sport so that you can try Hitotsuba while we waiting for Aokana (Quite fitting seeing that Hitotsuba has been called as the second Aokana). For the biggest news from Sol Press, we have them set up the KS for Irotoridori with rather sizeable base goal at 85,000 with the stretch goal was to released two FDs (Or sequels) at 170,000 for Hikari and 215,000 for Akai. I knew that some people did treat Irotoridori as trilogy, but apparently Favorite did sell Hikari as the FD. As for the release estimation, it'll be at December 2021 later which while I think it's too long actually it's quite reasonable time frame because it'll took many times to translate all of trilogy there. Personally I'm fine with the first part only though because it's been too much dying projects there, although obviously it's very good if Sol Press want to translate all of the trilogy. Good luck to the KS there and I hope it'll be successful for the sake of the one who wait for Irotoridori. As for the current funds, right now the KS managed to gather 28,277 out of 85,000 which is quite good for the first part here. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next time.1 point -
Ritter Chronicles Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week I combined 'Ritter' from Eden's Ritter and 'Chronicle' from Evenicle 2 so we have 'Ritter Chronicles' as this week VNTS Review because we have those two announced. Another reason for the title is that I parodied Valkyria Chronicles, in that apparently both that game and Eden's Ritter have the setting place on German although it's very loose at that (In Valkryria Chronicles Germany was supposed to be an imperial). As for this week, what I can say that it's quite an exciting one with all of the announcements and updates that happen here, while at the same time I don't think that the release is not as big as the announcements that we have. In any case, let's see what I can write for this week as well. Back at last Friday we have Sekai give some updates, and for the updates we have Slobbish Princess was at 90% translated (I guess Sekai really aim for simultaneous release), Kimagure was at 60% translated, Nekopara 4 was fully translated along with halfway edited, and Nine Episode 3 was fully translated and edited and currently they started the QA (Hopefully it mean that Sekai will release it at this year). From Sol Press we have Nukitashi was at 26% edited, and Irotoridori was fully edited with the current progress was move into programming (I just hope that Sol Press will find a way to get around FAVORITE pesky engine). From JAST we have two exact release date announcements which obviously very good, and for the releases we have Shoujo Dominance release will be at tomorrow (22nd) and Flowers Autumn release will be at 30th later. What I can say is that JAST should be announce Flowers Winter as the last part of tetralogy if they want a complete release, although when they'll announce it I don't know. Fan Translation For the update of fan translation section, it's in regard of Matsuribayashi in that finally we have the patch that will add both of PS3 graphic and voices to the Steam version of it (The post if you want to download the patch). So if you want to play the original finale of Higurashi and yet you prefer to wait because the graphic is not quite up to nowadays standard, you can play it and have fun. With this now we have the original Higrashi available with voices and PS3 art, and all that left is the side stories which currently being worked on. Speaking about Higurashi side story, currently we have Miotsukushi Ura was at 71% translated. For the next plan, apparently they'll release the patch along with new fragments from PS3 version at September later, so let's wait and see. For the rest of the updates from fan translation, we finally have Majikoi A-4 starting the translation with 8 out of 62 scripts was translated, 14,945 lines of Pure x Connect are translated along with 7,808 lines are edited, Loverable was at 89.13% edited, Taimanin Yukikaze 2 was at 85% translated, and Ginharu was at 65% translated with Yuzuki's route was at 15.94% translated. Lastly, we have surprise update from Harugi in that finally we have some progress on Branch after more than half a year, and with new updates currently we have it was at 56% translated with Branch route was at 20% translated along with some updates on Branch heroine routes as well (Misaki's route was at 4% translated, Sumika's route was at 6% translated, and Yuna's route was at 5% translated). From Alka we have an unfortunate news, in that they need to delay Miagete FD release because they need to resolve some game breaking bug that was apparently happened in Hinami's route. No much to say other hopefully they'll be able to get around this and manage to have this released. We also have Reflection Blue translation was going smoothly with the current progress was already past a quarter (26.9%) translated with Umi's route was fully translated, and they started to work on Miki's route in which currently it's been at 9.4% translated along with they also have some progress with Shizuku's route with the progress was past halfway (54.2%) translated. That's all for fan translation section here. Other We have Trap Legend release, in that it could be summarized as BL VN with the hero dressed in a very cute outfit. Not exactly my interest here, but if you like BL or trap heroes (I prefer trap MC with the heroines) or perhaps both feel free to get the VN and have fun. We have a surprise announcement from Shira VN in that they manage to get a dark nukige from Waffle which as we know is one of Mangagamer's partner, and the dark nukige in question is Eden's Ritter. As for the premise, we have a cowardly priestess who decided to draw out the power in order to fight the evil and the power was supposed to be very strong. Although of course there's a catch to the power, in that the power will cause the priestess to be quite horny the longer she surge with power, and obviously the enemy will took the advantage of it causing the dark sex scenes which to say will be quite a lot. We also have the release date for this, and it'll be at 31st later. Fruitbat announced the VN that was supposed to be the last work that was translated by the late Conjueror, and the VN in question is turned out to be Jiangshi x Daoshi in which it's a doujin VN with the place setting was at China. The premise is gong like we have MC who work as an assassin who already retired, and one day he encountered a man eating monster. Luckily he was saved by a mysterious wandering dao priestess, and from there both of them are supposed to work together in order to facing some unknown hardship. Currently we have the first and second episode available at Steam, and the third episode will be available in the future at this year. For the info, this VN was previously banned in Steam because of some violent scene or something like that. Feel free to try the VN if you interested, and have fun. Other than Waffle, we also have another Mangagamer's partner decided to change the partner in order to release the translated VN by themselves, and the partner in question is Alicesoft. As for release, it's Evenicle 2 in that it's been one of the VN that people been wanted to translate the most (At least if we look at Mangagamer 2019 survey result). Alicesoft also assure us in that while they decided to localize Evenicle 2 by themselves, Mangagamer still responsible for Rance VNs release in the future. What I can say about Evenicle 2 here would be while I did say that we didn't really need for the sequel seeing that Evenicle is complete enough, I'm still interested with it if only for more gameplay VN and more importantly more Alicesoft VNs. The premise is like we have a MC (Alex) who instead aspired to be knight in order to marry his two childhood friendlike Aster, Alex himself is someone who have blessing to be able to cure someone with a deadly disease through his body fluid and decided to start the journey in order to help more people. For the plan, Alicesoft will release the demo that will cover up to Chapter 1 at Steam later in the following weeks, so for now we can only wait in regard of this. That's all for this week VNTS Review and sorry for being late here. See you next week.1 point -
Neko Wars - The Empire Strikes Back Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (05/28/2017) I knew that any Star Wars fan (Hardcore or casual) should knew exactly what I parodying at the title (I'll tell my reason in PS). As for this week, to tell the truth I think the complete releases (Nekopara 3 and Utawarerumono 2) weren't quite interesting to me here although I think those two were quite good for several people here. Releases aside, this week was apparently just another usual week here although this time we also had Mangagamer joined by bringing several updates from their in house translation. Overall, while once again I didn't interested with the releases at least it's still had some interesting progress here so it's all good enough. Sekai Project As for them, at least we saw some updates from them at this week (More than one). As for the updates, there's Bokukotsu at around 74% translated, Fatal Twelve at 72%, and KARAKARA 2 was fully translated. In regard of KARA KARA 2, while it's been weeks since last update I think it'll be one short VN just like the prequel. Of course short VN didn't mean it'll be bad though, and for now I'll see what KARAKARA 2 will offer in regard of the new heroines later, because we still knew little of them especially in regard of their relationship with the MC (Leon). Besides the updates, this week we also had Sekai managed to successfully funded Hoshimemo through Kickstarter which should be enough if they just want to bring it. However, it's still not enough yet for Sekai to bring Eternal Heart translated because it's still not funded enough yet if we talk about the funding (75,000 goal, while right now it's still at 47,985 gathered). Let's see if Sekai will managed to gather 75,000 in 23 days later. Speaking about the localization funded by Kickstarter, there's first Tokeijikake which right now currently undergoing QA and will launched at early summer if possible according to Sekai (I expected some delay at least for now), and we'll had both all ages and 18+ version launched at the same time (18+ release was also through Nutaku, just like Chrono Clock). For the release, there's Nekopara 3 which focused on a pair of another catgirls (Maple and Cinnamon). They also already planned for Nekopara 4 release, which if all going well it'll be at least next year (Looking from usual release pattern). No comment for this other than have fun to playing it if you're Nekopara fan. Oh, and actually Wagahigh also had the release although it's still demo though. Other This week we had Libra 18+ patch for physical edition. In regard of Libra, looks like there's some controversy in regard of the translation. Namely that the translation was apparently quite bad, rivaling MoeNovel's Konosora earlier translation. There's many thing that I want to say about that here, but I figure better not and just hope that Mikandi will fix the translation if that was indeed the cause of the delay in the first place (Other than preparing Steam content thing). As for this week, finally Chuusotsu was fully funded at around 20,000 which mean at least it should be released per schedule. There's also news from Frontwing that they'll release Phantom Trigger volume 3 at July 28th which will cover Touka's story and her dark past, although it's still not certain though if they'll also release it in English. Other than those two, we had Utawarerumono 2 release for PS4 once again, which should satisfy people who want to see more Utawarerumono and had PS4 (Not me unfortunately). Have fun if you did fulfill those two conditions because I knew that the original Utawarerumono was quite good, and by the way it's quite interesting that English speaking people apparently had trouble for spelling Utawarerumono. For last news, PQube announced that they'll release Chaos Child in English for both of PS4 and VITA in English which confirm the rumor back at February in regard of Germany retailer add Chaos Child order page (It was already deleted though). As for the games itself, it was the sequel for Chaos Head and it was telling the story of how there'll be murders once again which eerily alike of the original murders back at Chaos Head. For the release date, still not certain yet but at least it'll be at Q3 2017 which mean it'll be around July to October. Mangagamer This week we had updates from them here. But before going to updates let me state that instead of six unknown project now we only had four unknown project, because turned out that their announcement back at Anime Central was the secret projects (All two of those). For more detail, the 5th project was Marina pseudo NTR VN thing (I guess right that Mangaganmer would announced 5th project at Anime Central) while the 7th project was Funbag Sideboob Story. As for the progress of those two, Marina was already completed since back when it's still unrevealed and Sideboob was at 74% translated (Also at 62% edited). Okay, as for the updates we had Hapymaher at 77% translated and 74% edited, Hashihime was at 61% translated and 8% edited, Imopara 2 was at 68% edited, Fata Morgana fandisc was at 59% translated, Sorcery Joker was at 97% translated and 81% edited, Trinoline was at 21% translated, Boukaku was still in scripting, Naked Butler was at 87% retranslated and 58% edited, and Maggot Bait was at 34% translated (Apparently Kouryuu still managed to endure it by not using the bucket). As for the winner of 'beta testing race', it was Dal Segno which was finished the testing (Evangile W and Suki Suki still in testing). As for the release date, still not certain which month but at least it should be this year looking from their pattern (It should be between one to four months later). For the secret projects, the 1st was fully translated and edited, the 2nd was at 73% translated, and the 3rd was at 54% translated (53% edited). Looking at both of their announced project and recent release which comprised of secret projects, I starting to wonder if all of those secret projects were nukige. No problem to me here though, although my real reason is that if Mangagamer keep pumping the money from nukige sales it could help us to get more good VN localized by Mangagamer in the future (It's common secret though). Fan Translation As for fan translation, it was still had usual updates and no release yet. For the first update, we had Eustia was at 14.55% for overall translation (Eris's arc was at 22.64% translated and Fione's arc was at 16.22% translated) while it was at 7.64% edited (Common arc was at 79.34% edited) and 7.19% TLC-ed (Eris's arc was at 1.21% TLC-ed and common arc was at 76.37% TLC-ed). Other than Eustia, there's Majokoi which right now it was at 86.4% translated, 82.1% edited, and 33.8% TLC-ed (By the way, apparently there's some technical problem that caused TLC progress will be on hold for a short while). As for Koiken Otome fandisc, right now Shiho's route was at 27% translated ie 1,352 lines. For Loverable, right now they managed to translated 70.06% of overall scripts and TLC-ed 41.88% of it (Also 19.47% edited as well). As for Tsujidou, this week they finally starting the real translation progress and the progress was that they managed to translated 7.56% of the script (The first part of common route was past halfway (57.93%) translated. As for the translated route order, still don't know yet but they'll announced it a bit later. I think that's all for this week, and if some of you knew what I missed just tell me below. See you next week. PS - As for the reasons in regard of the title, there were two reasons which I'll tell below. The first reason was in regard of Utawarerumono 2 (aka Mask of Deception according to the localized title) release which as we knew should had an empire if you play the original version. For the reason of 'Neko Wars' part (Other than Star Wars parody), Utawarerumono was also had human with cat ears although admittedly another reason for 'neko' part was because we had Nekopara 3 as the header for this week VNTS, and we should pretty much knew (Or predicted at least) that Utawarerumono would had wars in one way or another (It's SRPG after all). I knew that the empire at Utawarerumono was on the good side unlike Star Wars, but I think the 'Strikes Back' part still fitting though because once again it's wars which involved the changing tide. As for the second reason (BEWARE OF MAJOR SPOILER FROM BOTH OF GRISAIA NO KAJITSU AND FLYABLE HEART BEFOREHAND), it's because both of the seiyuu for Maple (Ogura Yui) and Cinnamon (Arisaka Uyu aka Toono Sayogi) were voicing characters back in Flyable Heart as Yui and Sakurako respectively. Back at Flyable Heart there's a twist that Yui herself was turned out to be the gender bent version of Shou (Flyable Heart MC), while Sakurako was getting Yui's dad (Who in turn was of course Shou's dad) heart transplanted inside her. By the way, if we look back at Michiru's route from Grisaia it should be obvious that the donor personality could be transferred to the host through the organ (It's not possible in real life I knew). Oh, and the real 'Empire Strikes Back' had plot twist called 'Luke, I'm Your Father' so I made the parody of the title because of Cinnamon and Maple as father and son at Flyable Heart respectively.1 point -
The Whimsical Sky Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
For this week title I'd just literally translate 'Kimagure' from Kimagure Temptation and 'Sora' from Yosuga no Sora into 'Whimsical' and 'Sky' respectively then combined both words, so we have 'The Whimsical Sky' as this week VNTS Review title. I did a bit more searching and find out that there's a picture called Whimsical Sky, and of course I wouldn't write my opinion on the picture here. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week I would say that this week is quite calm after a big release (Sakuramori) and several announcements so more or less technically it's an average one. That said, I still like this week though if only because we finally have Yosuga no Sora fully translated after nine years of works along with the first update in Ginharu after three weeks of absences, so overall its not too bad to me here. Anyway let's see what I can write for this week VNTS Review here. This week we have JAST released this nukige in which apparently it's a sequel of a doujin VN, and apparently based on Monster Girl Encyclopedia. While I must admit that it's not too bad here, in the end it's still smaller release from JAST so hopefully they'll be able to up their game to finally released Kimikoi on time (Shouldn't be affected by pandemic as long as they chose to release it in digital version only I think). We also have good news from Frontwing, in that they'll release Yukikoi at 29th later. I wonder if they'll reveal their next project to us later on, in which the next project could be Hatsumira if we look at several info seeing that they said that they've been planned to localized it. From Sekai we finally have Nine Episode 3 release, in which it's at 5% translated. While it's pretty much inevitable that Sekai will get Nine Episode 4 here, I still hoping that Sekai will manage to get it and if possible repeat their achievement to release two episodes in a year like back at 2019 (If only for Tsubasu's art here). By the way Nine Episode 4 was scheduled to be released at 24th later, and hopefully it's the last episode for Nine VN here. For more updates, we have Nekogami back into QA in which it probably mean that Sekai was about to make sure that it's free of bug, and Amairo Chocolata was at 65% translated. In any case, I'll look forward to whatever Sekai will announce in their 'AX from home' here if they want it seeing that usually their bigger announcement was usually happened at AX. As for Mangagamer's update, we have Escalayer finalizing the release build and Rance 01 was finished the testing (Both of those are coincidentally from Alicesoft). They also have one more secret project, in which currently was fully translated and edited along with finishing the image editing for the project. As for the first secret project, currently it was at 70% translated along with 68% edited. From the updates, at least I can estimate that the next release from them here would be Escalayer. While for the second secret project, for now I can only guess that it would be a short VN although of course I might be wrong here. We have Angel Beats was passed 90% mark (93.60%) translated and Miotsukushi Ura was at 24% translated. For more updates, we have both of Yosuga no Sora Motoka's route along with Ginharu Momiji's route were fully translated. The former is more important, because Yosuga no Sora here is a nine years old project and Motoka's route here is the last route to be translated. While normally we should celebrate this occasion because we also have full translation patch available, the patch itself is still not completed just like Rhapsody because the team said that it's still need some editing and QC for the translation to be completed, so I'll just consider it as partial release. Still if you want to play Yosuga no Sora VN after nine years of waiting, feel free to try the patch and have fun. For Ginharu here, we finally have an update after three weeks of absences and with Momiji's route fully translated we have overall Ginharu was at 62.57% translated. While Irru did say that we better not expect the patch in another month, I'm still hoping that we'll get it in June's end at the fastest though so let's just wait and see here. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
Making Model Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title it's simply because we have one of heroine (Reina) work as the model in Makeover so I changed word 'Lovers' into 'Model'. For this week it's surely more lively compared to the last week, and the reason is simply because we finally have Nekonyan managed to release Makeover back at 3rd (I've been waiting for this). Other than Makeover, we also have Majikoi A-3 surprise release which should be a good addition for Majikoi's fans even though I think that it's mostly just fandisc because Majikoi itself was already completed ever since back at the original game (There's almost nothing in the plot that could justify the sequel like both of Kajitsu and Utawarerumono, so to me all of Majikoi games after original could be classify as fandiscs). Two releases aside, we also have several updates from both of fan translation and Nekonyan, and also we have a surpising update from Sekai in regard of Rewrite. Let's see what I can write for this week as well here. This week we have a new update for Rewrite in which it's been a while since the last update (If I remember, the last time they give the update is before the Kickstarter), and the progress is quite substantial with the main VN was at 60% retranslated. We also have them finally put the progress for Harvest Festa (ie Rewrite's fandisc), and they already finished halfway of the translation work for that. No much to say other than it good for Rewrite fans to see that finally they can see the progress for the fandisc after Ixrec started the work for this since back at 2014, and that Sekai is still on track for Rewrite here (Hopefully they'll be able to release this by November as promised). Almost forget to note that since it's almost spring, obviously JAST delayed their Sumaga release again and of course we wouldn't know on how long they'll delay it. Guess we have no choice other than more waiting here. Fan Translation For Majikoi A-3, while it's been a good surprise for Majikoi big fan in that they can see more Majikoi, my surprise is that finally we have another translated VN with 'passionate Hitomi Nabatame-voiced love-making' or in another word I'm only interested with the fact that finally we have Nabatame voicing a heroine in translated Majikoi VNs (She's Stacy's VA for the info). Almost forget that it's also contain Tsubame's after story, so good for Tsubame's fans. In the end, I guess I can say that it should be a nice addition for Majikoi's fan so go get A-3 and have fun. As for the continuation of Majikoi A translation, as of now still no plan to translating A-4 but we may have that in the future. From Alka we also have Angel Beat was at 81.84% translated, and more importantly they announced that they'll translate Kud Wafter which as we know is Little Busters fandisc focused on our cute Russian dog-lover Kud. For Kud Wafter, the plan is that Alka will translate both of all age and 18+ version, so you didn't need to worry about the censorship there even though KEY sex scenes is not something that we interested with. Other than Kud Wafter, they also already have plan to translate Reflection Blue (Summer Pockets Updated Re-Release) as well so let's see if they can finished it as well before Visual Arts decided to localized it seeing that they decided to drop it as soon as VA decided to localized it. Almost forgot to note that they still have some technical difficulty for Kud Wafter, which is make sense considering that Kud Wafter using RealLive engine while they already been used to work on Siglus engine that newer KEY VNs used. In any case, good luck to Alka in regard of their Kud Wafter translation. For the roundup of this section, we have Eustia was at 88.77% translated with side route was at 27.77% translated, 11,948 lines of Pure x Connect were translated, Loverable was at 81.64% edited, Yosuga no Sora was almost completed the translation (99%) with Motoka's route was at 93% translated along with 80% edited, and Miotsukushi Ura was at 11% translated. Still no update from Tsurezure in regard of Ginharu, but perhaps we may have some update at next week after Trip take care of his business at 8th tomorrow. That's all for this week fan translation roundup. Nekonyan Normally I would call this section as Other, but since we only have the updates from Nekonyan at this week I'd change the section title to Nekonyan. As for Nekonyan here, other than aforementioned Makeover release we also have their usual monthly update so here's the roundup for that. The roundup goes like we currently have Aokana EXTRA 1 was at 10% translated, IxSheTell was at 65% translated (By the way I know that the pun of the title is 'Aishiteru' which obviously Japanese word for 'I Love You'), Riddle Joker was at 85% translated along with three quarter edited, and Kirikoi was at halfway translated. Once again the release that Nekonyan have here is Makeover, in which it's most interesting release to me here because I've been looking forward to this ever since back when they announced it back at December 2018. For the VN itself, it's about a man named Kazuma (You can rename him by the way) who want to find a love through the normal way in that his family been waiting for their future daughter in law, and by chance he come across five girls including his stepsister that one way or another will become his couple. While granted it sounds cliche, please remember that the developer for Makeover here is Smee, and by that I mean Makeover got some interesting feature in that the comedy is exaggerated and I like it. While granted that the MC is already graduated from university instead of usual high school student is interesting on it's own, my focus here is more on the comedy like back at Fureraba. Get Makeover from one of many shop if you've been understandably interested with it, and have fun. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
Sakura Farm Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Of course I didn't review another Sakura VN that was created by Winged Cloud, and the reason for the title is because we have Sakuramori finished the testing along with the nukige release from Cherry Kiss Games with the English name 'Elf Breeding Farm', so we have 'Sakura Farm' as this week VNTS Review. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week it's less lively after two big releases at the last two weeks (Summer Pockets and Senren Banka) with this week release is the aforementioned nukige. That said, at least this week update is quite nice to see because it have two interesting updates to me here (Makeover release and Sakuramori finished the testing) although in the end this week is quite a plain one here. Let's see what I can write for this week as well here, and sorry if this week review would be a short one here. From JAST back at 25th we have Togainu no Chi release which to say is a redundant one, but if you want a hardcopy version of Togainu no Chi then feel free to get it there. And speaking of the release, there's also the aforementioned Elf Breeding Farm that was released by Cherry Kiss which to say not within my interest there, but if you like it then go get it and have fun. Speaking about nukige, there's Yamizome in which it's already halfway translated. While Yamizome here is not nukige, I understand that people would likely thought it as one, and beside I think it would be nice if JAST can show good progress on that later in the future. Lastly we have JAST have their Flowers Autumn ready to preorder, which honestly not mean that the release date is almost close especially if we look at Majikoi (Granted it's because of voice license problem and the release is a redundant anyway, but still enough for an example of preorder is not always mean ready for the release). In any case, let's try to conclude this in a hopeful matter that hopefully JAST will be able to release Flowers Autumn in a near future or perhaps at this year. From fan translation we have Tsurezure take a break at this week, Miotsukushi Omote was at 86% edited, Angel Beats was at 31.50% translated, 9,814 lines of Pure x Connect are translated along with 5,287 lines edited, and we have Eustia at 88.24% translated with Side Routes was at 23.7% translated along with 85.95% edited. Lastly we also know that Yosuga no Sora did a lot of QC work, and currently they keep working on it as of now with the current progress that they already finished the TLC for both of common and Kazuha's route and apparently they about to put more focus on Motoka's route TLC which as of now still not fully translated. Let's see if we can see the end of this eight years old project in the near future (Good luck to the team), and that's all for fan translation here. Currently we have Aokana planned release for PS4 and Switch at this summer by PQube, which should be good if you somehow have PS4/Switch and yet didn't own a PC/laptop. If anything at least it would reach wider audience in which it's what Pulltop attempt to do it in a sloppy way with MoeNovel, and more importantly it mean that Nekonyan manage to fulfill yet another of their Kickstarter promise. Although instead of that, I'm more interested to know that their next release plan is Makeover and they stated that it should be happen in not too far away (There's still no exact release date for that, but they'll announce it when they ready). From Mangagamer, we have Sona-Nyl was at 85% edited, both of Macchiato and Rance 01 was started the testing, 02 was at 90% edited, and last but not the least we have Sakuramori finished the testing. Seeing that it's the only update that have been finished the testing, perhaps we may have this as Mangagamer's April release although I may expect too much here though. In any case I'll look forward to it's release. That's all for this week VNTS Review and sorry for being late here. See you next week.1 point -
Beat Angel Escalayer A La Mode Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and while there's still not much to say at this week as well at least we have some interesting stuffs happen such as Nekonyan opened Steam store page for Senren Banka. Other than that we also have some updates from both of Mangagamer and fan translstion, so overall I think this week is a bit plain here. I'll tell the title at PS later, and let's see what I can write for this week. Fruitbat have a plan to released Chuusotsu 1.5 in which the release date for that will tomorrow, although to me I don't really particularly interested with it though seeing that I'm still don't know much about Chuusotsu to be very blunt (Perhaps it might be a good addition for Chuusotsu's fans). About Senren Banka Steam store page here, two days ago we have Nekonyan open the store for that. While granted we still don't know when Nekonyan will release it seeing that they also plan to release the trial version of that here, at least the time for that is almost close so hopefully we'll have it at this year (Should be possible seeing that we have 11 months left). One more thing here is that it's quite ironic that Sekai did announce Senren Banks first, and yet the one who open the Steam store page for that was Nekonyan. For Mangagamer's updates here, we have Sona-Nyl was at three quarter edited, both of Mugen Renkan and Macchiato was in programing, and both of WanNyan and Escalayer was in testing. Not much to say other than it's good that we can finally see Escalayer in testing (More magical girl VN is always good), so let's see what Mangagamer will announce for their next release after they'll release Magic and Slash later. We finally have Pure Pure was continuing their progress after the translator being busyfor some time, and currently the progress for that was at 93.68% translated (Still a rough one though). Other than that we have 9,634 out of 43,896 lines of Pure x Connect were translated (Almost 10,000 lines translated there), Loverable was at 78.39% edited, Miotsukushi Omote was past 90% mark (92%) translated, Summer Pocket was at 68.40% translated with Kamome's route was fully translated (So we should have Kamome's patch released in the near future), and Eustia was at 87.48% translated (Side route was at 18.77% translated) along with 77.76% edited (Eustia's chapter was past halfway (50.50%) edited). For the last update once again we have Ginharu's update, in which we have Momiji's route was past halfway (51.16%) translated and overall Ginharu was at 53.44% translated. Not much to say other than I like that Tsurezure back to their usual pace at this week. That's all for this week, and sorry if this week is still a short one. See you next week. PS - For the title, I just joined Escalayer's English title (Beat Angel Escslayer) and 'A La Mode' from WanNyan full title so we have 'Beat Angel Escalayer A La Mode' as this week title, which is quite fitting anyway seeing that we have Kira Kira Precure A La Mode and Escalayer here is a magical girl to a degree (Perhaps we may have the sequel with the same name (Beat Angel Escalayer A La Mode) if Alicesoft in the mood for it).1 point -
Rhapsody of a Cherry Blossom Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to my last VNTS Review for 2019, and as for the title I just joined 'Cherry Blossom' from Sakuramori (TL Note: Sakura mean cherry blossom) and 'Rhapsody' from Kami no Rhapsody so we have the title as 'Rhapsody of a Cherry Blossom'. After very active week from the last week, I did find that this week was interesting to a degree here. The reason was not because the official releases like the last week though, but rather it's because we have Rhapsody full text patch release which should be more than enough if one want to play it especially of we know that there's no proper narration patch for Eushully VN out there. I admit that I'm not seeing this coming seeing that I dismissed the chance for Rhapsody's patch release as the Christmas prize, so seeing that it's been released four days after Christmas is a very good surprise to me and therefore defeat my earlier remark here. Other than Rhapsody full text patch release, we also have some updates from both of Mangagamer and fan translation while at the same time we also have new VN announcement. So let's see what I can write at 2019 end here. While I still think that Bullied Bride nukige is a redundant release, I guess it's good for Fakku to be able to release Chii-chan nukige at 2019. Not my choice of Christmas prize though, but then again some people out there may think otherwise so have fun if you like it. Also KEY decided to delay their Summer Pocket because they find some problem in the engine and apparently Valve like to debating with KEY for the age rating, so obviously KEY will delay Summer Pocket release. What I can say for now is that hopefully KEY will find a way to get through of it, especially if we know that Valve like to randomly banned VNs. We also have Aniplex decided to join the VN localization with their two new VN Adabana and ATRI, and they'll release it at the next year. While it's interesting that Sony here joining the VN industry (Aniplex is a part of Sony) especially if we know on how Sony like to tightening the censorship, my concern is more to ATRI though in which it's Makura and Frontwing partnership project which mean that we may have a chance of Sakura no Uta localization however miniscule it is (I know it's just my wishful thinking here). Lastly we have Harukaze (Or rather Tokyotoon) announced that they're release their new VN (Marco and the Galaxy Dragon) in three language simultaneously (Including English obviously) at February 28th later, and apparently the MC will be female so looks like it'll be some sort of GL VN which mean at that date we'll have two GL VNs releases. No much comment other than since Tokyotoon already made this as all age VN, there shouldn't be any controversy in regard of censorship like back when they localized Noraneko duology. No much word for Mangagamer here other than good job with their updates. For the roundup of their last 2019 updates, we have both of Uchikano and Mugen Renkan finished the image editing, Room No.9 beta testing still waiting the build from Japanese developer, Sukehime was in image editing, Sona-Nyl was at 65% edited, Escalayer was about to enter the testing, and Sakuramori was in testing. No much to say other than hopefully Sakuramori testing will going and that they'll release in the near future. From fan translation, other than Rhapsody complete narration patch release we also have several updates. For the updates we have Eustia was at 86.51% translated with side stories was at 12.49% translated, Mitosukushi Omote was at 82% translsted, Majikoi A-3 was finished the translation and the editing work still hasn't started yet, Loverable was at 78.36% translated, 8,869 out of 43,896 lines of Pure x Connect are translated (Good job on that), and Ginharu was at 50.88% translated with Momiji's route was at 37.46% translated (Looks like there'll be no Hinata's patch release for new year prize as well here). Lastly the biggest update for this week should be Rhapsody's full text patch here, in which it's should be help a lot if you want to play Rhapsody in English as soon as possible seeing that usually Eushully's interface patch is enough to understand the gameplay (Translation issue on interface patch aside). The translator still call it as partial patch though, seeing that his team still need to translate some image and that he also said that some of the translation is still unedited. So I'll call the patch as partial patch just like the translator here, and hopefully we can have Rhapsody full patch in the near future. As for Rhapsody itself, it's gameplay are very different from what Eushully made in the past (Especially Kamidori) so it might need some time to get use to the gameplay here. Go get the patch if you've been interested with Eushully VN here, and have fun. That's all for my last VNTS Review at 2019. Happy new year, and see you next year.1 point -
Bobby Quest 2 Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for this week title I parodied Dragon Quest by changing 'Dragon' to 'Booby' because we have Funbag Fantasy 2 release so we have 'Booby Quest 2'. For more elaboration Funbag is a big breast nukige and as we know it parodied Final Fantasy, so I decided to parodied Dragon Quest in which it's the biggest RPG franchise after Final Fantasy. By the way it's the second time I parodied both of Dragon Quest and Funbag Fantasy here, and the first time was back at 2016 when the first Funbag Fantasy was released. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week while it's more lively because we have three releases, my interest is more leaned toward the updates though (Especially Eustia) because two of the three releases are nukige which to say not my interest here. Let's see what I can write for this week here. From Cherry Kiss we have nukige Nympho Monster Domination in which it'll tell us that the setting is in the another world, so at least we have another isekai nukige translated here. Go get the VN if you interested and have fun. We also learnt that in Sol Press language Nukitashi meant Busy Wizard LN, or in other word they're not surprisingly delayed Nukitashi until further notice. Well it's not surprising to me was because they still at 8% translated when they announced the release date back at AX, and so far the progress was not like they're ready to fulfill the deadline that they set back at 22nd. It's also a shame that Sol Press apparently more focused on LN and forget to announce the delay on Nukitashi here (Unlike Nekonyan in which at least they announced Senren Banka delay), which is too bad here. For now I just hope that Sol Press will improved themselves in regard of marketing, in which apparently it started to get worrying because they make several mistakes. As for Funbag Fantasy 2, for the reminder it's Arunaru who localize the title. Since this is also nukige, i would say that I'm not quite interested with it even with apparently it have some interesting story. You may get that though if you like heroines with very big breast, and have fun if you play it. For other updates, we have Uchikano was fully edited, Sona-Nyl was halfway edited, Mugen Renkan image editing was in progress, the testing for Magic and Slash was finished and currently the release build for that was in finalizing process, Sideboob 2 release build was currently in finalizing process as well, and Sukehime was at 81% edited. For the last progress here we have Mangagamer finished the image editing for Matsuribayashi and currently they do some programming work on that, which mean hopefully they'll be able to release it in near future and finally we can Matsuribayashi being voiced and have PS3 graphic (For the info Matsuribayashi was not available for PS2 version because Alchemist decided to make their unique finale for that version). That's all for Mangagamer's updates here. Other than two nukige that I mentioned earlier, we have Lamunation release in which it's easy to say was the most interesting release to me here. As for the premise, we have Luna who always have fun in a modern looking city along with his twin sister, his childhood friend, and his best friend who is a twin (All characters besides Luna are female for the info). While the writer of Lamunation here (Kepposhi) did have some controversy and that it affected Erogamescape scoring a lot, actually this VN is might be nice if you're in a mood to enjoy some simple VN that have a lot of comedy here. So the best advice that I can say is that would be just enjoy what we have in Lamunation here, and have fun with it because I can see that the writer have a lot of fun to insert many joke and parody (And a lot of meme) there. For additional note here, the price is quite cheap for a medium length VN (At US$ 13 if I remember) so at least you can legally purchase it if you have some money to spare, and not to mention you can have the sex scenes which is always a bonus if we compared it to Noraneko duology. Granted that some featured was cut out because of the price, but at least it's more in regard of technical matter which is fair enough to me here. Almost forget that we also have some updates from Sekai, in which currently they already have Winter Polaris entering QA and set the release month to December (Good luck for that I guess). Other than Winter Polaris we have Sekai waiting Bokukotsu FD build from the developer, and more importantly they already finished the QA for Tokeijikake 2 and currently they fixing the bug that might be left in the engine. In any case, I hope that Sekai's plan to release Tokeijikake 2 in December will be going well. From fan translation, we have Mitosukushi Omote was at 59% translated, Loverable was at 73.13% edited, and Eustia show some nice progress. For more elaboration here currently we have Eustia was at 84.56% translated with Eustia's chapter was almost finished the translation progress (At 99.78% translated), and also it was at 69.76% edited with Licia's chapter was already past 90% mark (94.54%) edited. What I can say is that good job to Eustia's translation team, and hopefully we'll be able to have it released at 2020 later. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
Date A Witch Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and perhaps Decay was a bit busy at this week so didn't have VNTS at the main page. As for the title, seeing that we have Majokoi and Date A Live VN releases back at last week I simply combined both title so we have 'Date A Witch' as this week review which is quite fitting for Majokoi to a degree, expect Majokoi's MC here is more forward compared to Date A Live MC and quite a player as well (At least he's at the suitable age compared to Marriage's Yuuta). As for this week, well it's quite calm after the Otakon announcements here which once again is earlier than usual (Normally I would like look forward to the announcements at around this date). That sad, we have Photonflower release so if Muv Luv hardcore fan want to see something nice such as Sumika in bikini then they can get it, otherwise we better wait for some other releases in the near future. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week updates here. From fan translation, we have Eustia was at 73.90% translated with Eustia's chapter was finally reach 20% (22.53%) translated, Watamasu was at 94% translated, Loverable was at 69.09% edited (Nice number there), and Miotsukushi Omote was at 5% translated. There's also a new project with the goal to translated and add the sex scenes to Noraneko which as we know was censored thanks to some brilliant decision from Harukaze (Or just afraid that Steam would randomly shot down Noraneko if Harukaze add the 18+ patch), and currently they in need some translator so hopefully the project can get some of those and hopefully start the translation progress. By the way in regard of Noraneko censorship, I'll put my blame on Harukaze there instead of Fruitbat seeing that the latter was announced to do the publishing after Harukaze announce their brilliant decision to censor the overseas release (Probably learnt about that shenanigan from Pulltop). No much word for now other than good luck to the project. From Sekai we have Zombe VN 2 release date was confirmed at 12th later, so you may note the date if you interested with it. We also have Harukuru waiting for the engine work, Nine 2 waiting for Steam review, and Kemomusu already finished the QA while at the same time waiting for the Steam review. We also have Island Diary was fully translated, and Nekogami was both fully translated and edited. Other than that, I'm quite concerned with Nanairo here seeing that they might now know whether they already doing the final build check or not, so perhaps we better expect Nanairo release would be delayed again until Sekai ready to do it. From Sol Press we have Himawari no Kioku was at 28% translated along with 5% edited, Nukitashi was at 26% translated, Kimiaogi was implementing the QA, and Onikiss QA was awaiting some tech work before doing that. Still no update from other projects (Especially Windmill's VNs), but they assure us that those other projects are being worked on so there's that. We also have the programming work for Lamunation is ongoing, although seeing that the it's already past Q2 obviously the release was once again delayed, although there's a chance that they may pull it at Q3 later (Should be in September's end at most). For the last update, we have KS for Aokana physical copy was reaching massive success, and by massive I mean Nekonyan managed to gather 13 times of the base goal at 130,766 euro gathered (Granted that the base goal was only at 10,000 euro, but still it's quite a massive funds). As for the release date estimation, still no idea seeing that they didn't talk about that at the last update although they made the estimated delivery for the digital copy at this August so perhaps we may see some update from them at this month. Thta's all for this week VNTS Review, and sorry for being the shorter one. See you next week.1 point -
KEY All Stars Memories Review Part 1
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Apparently there's another hiatus on VNTS because Decay might be busy there, so as usual I'll write this week VNTS Review without the VNTS. As for the title, seeing that we have Summer Pockets Shiroha's patch released I decided to parodied 'PreCure All Stars Memories' movie into 'KEY All Stars Memories' because we'll going to see some plot that was available in the older KEY VNs at Summer Pockets, and we can treat that as some sort of nostalgia trip in that the aforementioned PreCure movie was also deal with that as well (The movie itself is not quite well written though). For 'Part 1' part here, it's because we only have one route translated out of five routes, so there'll be four parts more in the future. As for this week, other than Shiroha's patch release we have Mangagamer released Minagoroshi along with Majokoi exact release date at Friday later and some updates from Sol Press. Let's see what I can write for this week as well despite the lack of VNTS. For Sol Press updates we have Nukitashi was at 21% translated, Onikiss was in image editing before moving on to QA, Himawari no Kioku was at 26% translated along with 3% edited, Shitsuaru release date was forwarded to October 18th, and Kimiaogi was in QA. Speaking abut Kimiaogi, apparently the no mosaic file that was already prepared was deleted because their hardisk that was stored the file was damaged. While granted it would make some people mad because they can't remove the mosaic on time (Apparently the process to redraw the CG is very expensive), what I can say is that I prefer to ignore mosaic matter as long as the sex scenes is available in the release later so it's meaningless to me here if I'm mad about mosaic. I can understand though that it would be very suck to loss all of the files and that kind of mistake is surprisingly common, so hopefully Sol Press could be better to avoid that kind of mistake in the future. Lastly it's t bad that there's no update from Windmill VN (Especially Witch's Garden), but I guess we need to wait for a while here. As for Aokana Kickstarter, currently the KS manage to pass 80,000 euro mark (Currently at 83,326 euro) funded so obviously they'd pass the stretch goal for Switch port. Although I'm more interested with the additional feature though, in that we finally can have Music Gallery along with the new feature such as Sprite Viewer. Still congratulation to Nekonyan though in that they managed to have Switch port for Aokana here, and I'll look forward to their big announcement later. By the way the next stretch goal is badges and tapestry at 90,000 euro, so at least it's good that there's more collectible item if you interested with Aokana's merchandise (Not me though). We also have Photonflower released today, so go get that if you've been Muv Luv fans and want to see more of the characters life. There's Date A Live VN release as well, although for the release I'll talk about it at next VNTS Review. From Mangagamer we have Minagoroshi release, but before gong into it we have some complicated matter in that Mangagamer have the issue with their payment processor so that we can't buy the VN from their website. More importantly it also delayed Mangagamer next release announcement as well, so it's too bad that we wouldn't know what release that Mangagamer will have for August later (Granted we have Ciconia for that, but it's at September later). For now I just hope that Mangagamer will resolve their payment issue as soon as possible. Back to Minagoroshi, as we know it's the 7th part of Higurashi in that it's the part where the main mystery in Hinamizawa (Higurashi's place setting for the reminder) starting to get dismantled and there's a hope for Keichi's and friend for the happy ending, although looking from the title it's obviously wouldn't end happily (TL Note: Minagoroshi mean massacre or mass killing). Anyway with Minagoroshi done it mean that only a chapter left from original Higurashi (Matsuribayashi), and obviously it mean that there'll be a patch that will add voice and PS3 graphic to Minagoroshi later. From fan translation as usual we have Eustia updates, and at this week it was at 72.87% translated with Eustia's chapter was at 15.11% translated. Other than that, we also have Miotsukushi Omote start the translation progress (Apparently there's a lot to port in regard of Miotsukushi) and currently it's at 1% translated (Yeah they literally just start the translation). For the reminder here, Mitosukushi is the new arc for Higurashi PS2 version and that arc is the alternative ending for Matsuribayashi. The biggest news from fan translation here should be Summer Pockets Shiroha's patch release, in which it did released bot of common and Shiroha's routes (Duh). Of curse we have a lot of progress from Summer Pocket translation, and currently it was at 35.40% with the most progress was at Kamome's route in that it's already reach past a quarter (25.14%) translated so we may have Kamome's patch released next. Anyway get the Shiroha's patch here if you want to try it, and have fun. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. I'll look forward to the three announcements that Mangagamer will bring at Otakon later.1 point -
The Coach, the Goat, and Matters of the Censorship Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
For the title I'd combined both of Aokana and Noraneko because we have a big news in regard of those two, and the title here is a derivative of Noraneko localized title (The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Hearts). As for 'The Coach' part it should be obvious that it's from Aokana in which it's our Aokana MC (Masaya, which have same name as Evangile's MC) role, while for 'Matters of the Censorship' part it's because Harukaze here have a brilliant idea to release Switch version that was obviously censored for overseas instead of regular version (With 18+ contents obviously). As for 'Goat' part, well it's because we have Noraneko episode 6 in that we have a real life goat instead of usual animation, and I'm not making this up here. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week other than aforementioned big news we have some updates from Sekai and Mangagmer here, so let's see what I can write for this week as well. For the roundup of fan translation, we have Eustia was at 71.55% translated (Eustia's arc was at 5.53% translated) along with past halfway edited (At 51.97% edited the all of the chapters up to Irene's was already edited), 4,379 lines from Pure x Connect were edited, and Summer Pocket was at 30.30% translated. We also have one release, and apparently it's a VN with shota MC that was about to experience a summer camp together with some elementary students female. Said camp was have some activity that was surely involved with some reproduction process, and one of the tags at VNDB is nukige. Do the math. While I'm not quite fond to that kind of VN (And it can be very disturbing for some people), it's not like I can forbid someone to liking a particular stuff anyway because each people did have their own interest (Although I can't help to notice that the translator is like shota and loli VN though). The big release for this week is Noraneko, although ironically it's been censored here seeing that for some reason Harukaze thought that the overseas would easily accepted Switch version without the option for seeing 18 scenes. While granted there's some reason such as license and stuff like Phlebas said, it's not like it would be hard for Harukaze to handle the license seeing that there's a lot of release like that (The exception are Pulltop's releases obviously). The only reason that I can think of is that they afraid that Steam would randomly banned this if they localized 18+ scenes as well. As for the cut, it's pretty big seeing that apparently ~30-40% scripts of Noraneko are sex scenes, and unless the change is worth the cut then it mean that it's censorship is worse compared to Miagete (For comparison ~17% of Miagete's scripts did cut to get rid of the sex scenes, and it's already big enough). As for Noraneko itself I think the synopsis at the Steam store is enough for the premise so I'll just say that it's too bad that Noraneko is censored, even though I know that three of the main heroines seiyuu (Kirihana, Sendai, and Kotori Yuuka) will appear at Senren Banka later (Obviously will be not censored). From Sekai we have a lot of their project was at preparation stage, so it's hard to describe in general here. The only release that they have is that they'd already release Ninja Girl back at 24th (I'll try to talk about it at the next VNTS Review), and that that they already almost ready to release Nanairo (Hopefully by July end). For the roundup we have Nine episode 2 was started the QA, Kemomusu do the build check before QA, Nekonin 3 was awaiting build from the developer, and Sanarara was about to start the editing. We also have Bell Chime otome VN spin-off release, in that if we remember the main game of that was released by Sekai (This time the developer decided to release it without Sekai's help). As for the premise, it'll tell us the story of our female MC after she finished the adventure that she was gone through together with five poor men back at the main game, and that we'll going to see her ordinary life here. While granted that the heroes are still not as handsome as usual otome VN heroes, at least it have sex scenes like the main game (It's still rare to see otome VN with sex scenes being translated here). As for Mangagamer's update, this week most of those was focused on the secret projects because almost all of their revealed projects are either already finished the testing, in testing, or finalizing the build for the release. But before going to the update, we have surprise news from them in that they managed to have Steam allow Amrilato to be sold at their store which obviously mean that the Steam user can buy Amrilato directly from Steam. I don't really know though who or what pressured Valve to allow Steam change their policy in regard of Amrilato quickly (It need more than four months for HGB to be available at Steam store), but I guess it's good for now that at least Valve is a bit willing to hearing. As for the update roundups, we have Maggot Bait finalizing the release build, WanNyan was at 55% edited, Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 was in setting, and both of Imopara 3 and Haretaka finished the testing. For the secret projects, we have 6th was at 76% translated and 36%edited, 7th was fully translated and 92% edited, and 8th was fully translated along with 40% edited. Out of all updates, I'm just glad to see that Haretaka here finished the testing. Also apparently Managamer will bring one announcement to AX, although I wonder though if they'll really only bring one. To me the biggest news to me is not Noraneko release because it's censored, but rather Aokana's physical copy KS. As fr the KS itself like Nekonyan said beforehand the base goal itself was quite low, although to tell the truth I didn't expect the base goal was at 10,000 euro though (I expect at least around 20,000 euro just like usual Sekai physical copy KS). In any case, the KS was very successful in less than a hour after the launch which to say was quite a record. As for now, currently it managed to gather at around 58,000 euro and already managed to reach the third stretch goal, and perhaps they'll be able to gather 70,000 euro considering that it's still 35 days left. In any case I just hope that Nekonyan will be able to deliver the KS goods (I'm not quite interested with the prize), and that they'll deliver the download version at their promised time (Around August end). Almost forget that I like Nekonyan also provided Aokana OST, seeing that sprite didn't manage to add the Music Collection at the VN itself. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
Kaptita en Alia Mondo Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Since we have Amrilato release that focused on Esperanto language lesson and that our female MC did get trapped in anther world that have Esperanto as the man language, I decided to just using the literal translation Trapped in Another World trope in Esperanto here so we have 'Kaptita en Alia Mondo' as this week VNTS Review. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and while today we have Noraneko release my focus here would be more on Nekonyan updates along with Amrilato release (I'll try to talk about Noraneko at the next week VNTS Review). What I can say abut this week here would be slightly calm compared to the last week, simply because there's no updates from Sol Press and no new VN announcement. Let's see what I can write for this week as well. For fan translation roundup, we have Eustia was at 71.42% translated with Eustia's chapter was at 4.56% translated, Loverable was at 67.08%, and Rhapsody's append and NG+ contents was at 80% translated (Along with some ongoing progress such as menu image work, Chapter 2 TLC and editing, and terminology translation). We have a release from fan translation here, although the release in question is a nukige though in which apparently it's the sequel of a NTR nukige that was released back at December 23rd (I already forgot about it). Speaking about nukige, we also have Cherry Blossom Kiss did release their own nukige in which it tell us about on how both of Shingen Takeda and Uesugi Kenshin are female and that both of them fall in love with the same person (By the way back at Sengoku Rance only Kenshin that was female). Well go get those two nukige if you interested with that and have fun, and by the way those two didn't featured loli heroines although you may didn't like NTR one though. Once again we have Mangagamer did have Amrilato release, and once again since they released a VN it mean that they already planned a release at the next month. The release in question is Minagoroshi in which it'll be released at July 18th, so it mean that finally we can have Higurashi's penultimate arc voiced with PS3 graphics. Back to Amrilato, as for the premise we have our female MC Rin suddenly stuck in a world when everyone only fluent in Esperanto. Obviously Rin is in panic seeing that she can't communicate thanks to the language barrier, until she met with a cute girl with the name Ruka who can speak Japanese a bit. From there, both of them teach their own language in order to have better communication. Also curiously Amrilato here is banned by Steam, which to say was quite ridiculous seeing that it's all age VN and that it's also doubled as education VN for Esperanto language. Seeing that I can only guess that perhaps the staffs did have something against Esperanto there, so hopefully next time Valve can standardized Steam's censorship. You can still get it from Mangagamer's store though, so get Amrilato from them if you interested and have fun. Back at last Saturday we finally have Nekonyan decided to use Kickstarter in order to fund their physical copy of Aokana, and they'll launched it on Tuesday. While it's quite an important news in that Nekonyan was finally decided to use crowdfund after saying that they'll try their best to not use it, the more important news to me was that Nekonyan will release Aokana digital version one month after KS ended and the KS itself will going for 42 days, so at most we can speculate that we'll have KS final day at July 30th and Aokana release at August 30th (I'll still keep my eyes on the KS though). While the dates is sounds plausible, for now it's only speculation though so it might be change in the future. Speaking about announcement, we have an info that apparently Nekonyan did have more well known title although currently they decided to hold back the announcements though until they halfway finished with the work. And apparently one of those was already almost finished so that Nekonyan announced that they'll have release it at December later, so obviously we must wait until December (If all goes well) to know what's the release (Duh). For the rest of the updates from Nekonyan, we have Hello Lady estimate release time was delayed to late Q3, Senren release was already decided at September, and Makeover release was decided at early Q4 later. While for now I still think that it's too early to be sure about the release time, at least we have a new guide and that they may be able to do it now that they already released four VNs. There's also Melty Moment matter, in that apparently the project is troubled seeing that they lost the translator of this. Although apparently they already got a way to deal with that considering that they'll give us the update about it, so let's wait and see here. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - As for Amrilato's censorship, one can only speculate that the early bath scene there was the reason on why Steam did ban Amrilato, which to say was somehow understandable seeing that even Pulltop who's been infamous for overseas release was asked to do further censorship for Steam release. Also yeah once again Valve really need to be more consistent with their censorship seeing that some of the games in Steam library did have bath scene, and we even have both of Evenicle and Kyonyuu Fantasy on Steam (Those two VNs are have a lot of sex scenes for the reminder).1 point -
Mermaid Time Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Foreword - Since we still didn't have admin Tay fix the main page for VNTS and thus Decay can't make VNTS here, I decided to omit the foreword here starting from the next week. Anyway here's this week VNTS Review and I hope that you'll enjoy it. Seeing that we finally got 'My GF is Mermaid' released for Switch by Sekai, I decided to adapt Assassination Classroom chapter titling (XXX Time) by adding word 'Mermaid' so we have 'Mermaid Time' as this week title. The reason is simple, because in that VN we have two Assassination Classroom seiyuu (Fuchigami Mai (Nagisa) and Suzaki Aya (Kayano)) voicing two of three heroines from that VN, and to be honest the seiyuu themselves is more interesting than the VN itself mainly because those two seiyuu did play two prominent characters whose been shipped by a lot of fans. Especially after when Nagisa (A male by the way) did French kiss to crazed Kayano 15 times, and after that Kayano is been embarrassed whenever she called that moment. In the end I can only say that I'd more interested with the seiyuu instead of the story here, but if you find the story is interesting then good for you. Assassination Classroom rambling aside, welcome to this week VNTS Review and other than My GF is Mermaid release we have a lot of releases from official companies. We also have some updates from both of Nekonyan and fan translation, and this week we have another surprise in which JAST did have another surprise announcements in that they announce a monster girl VN. I'll appreciate them more if they announce well known VN and release it quickly, but at least it's good that they started to getting more active. Let's see what I can write for this week as well. This week we have Eustia was at 63.15% translated along with 45.07% TLC-ed, Harugi's Branch was at 55% translated, Tokihogushi was at 35% translated, and interface patch for Fuukan no Grasesta was released in here so you can try it (Personally I would be more happy if they managed to release full patch here). Other than those updates, we also have Tsurezure did their usual updates with Sora's route was fully translated and overall Hoshiori was at 87.23% translated (Irru also said that he might be able to release Sora's patch by the weekend). That's all for fan translation section here. As for Konosora FD, well congratulation for Pulltop I guess now that they manage to release it on Steam after they managed to solve the problem with Steam, although in the end it's obviously still censored though and instead of porting available all age version they decided to censored PC version, which is quite questionable seeing that the all age version that they'd have is having additional contents to cover the lack of sex scenes (Well go get Konosora FD if you didn't mind the censorship and have fun). As for Kaziklu Bey, what I can comment is that Mamiko Noto tone as Claudia was surely quite familiar considering that I started to recognize her tone, although too bad though that Light couldn't recast Akira Ishida as Wilhelm here seeing that Wilhem and Claudia romance is quite interesting and surely would make Fairy Tail fan very happy. Even without Akira Ishida as Wilhelm, I still recommend this VN if you a hardcore fans of Dies Irae because it did explore more on Wilhelm's life, especially if we knew that Wilhelm here is a crazy vampire back at Dies Irae and therefore it's interesting to see of how Wilhelm manage to have a normal relationship there. From Nekonyan we have Sukiren was fully translated and 60% edited, while at the same time we have Aokana was at 70% translated along with 30% edited. From Sol Press we have Kimiaogi was at 80% edited, and Onikiss was at 56% translated. For Sol Press release, we have Hitotsuba in which I did say that the costumes was not as interesting as Aokana because Aokana's costumes did have magical girl feel. That said, it's still interesting on it's own though mainly because people did dubbed it as the second Aokana in which it did have the setting that people did fight using the fighter plane, and it did have competition. As for the story beginning, it's resembled Konosora in which the MC did move to the dorm that was managed by his grandmom who is well known dogfight champion, and in there he'll live with other four girls who have their own quirk. From there, MC and the four girls formed the dogfight team and compete with the other team so you can expect some competition there. Have fun with the VN if you already got it, and if anything else this VN is better compared to Konosora FD because it didn't have censorship. I think that's all for this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Star-Weaving Future Dream Arc Chapter 6: Photo Kano
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
As for this week title once again we have 'Star-Weaving Future Dream Arc' here because this week we have Hoshiori Sora's patch released back at 5th which is quite fast, and also we have Natsuki's route update which mean the 'arc' here was about to reach the finale because Natsuki's route is the last route that Tsurezure translated. As for Photo Kano the reason is simply because that VN (Adapted into the anime as well) did have a lot of photography with the MC was a member of photography club, and that Natsuki is quite passionate in photography although she's more like school newspaper club member (I knew her goal is to make year book) in common route though. Other than Sora's route patch release, this week we also have the update from Mangagamer and a miracle that was happening in Irotoridori kickstarter. Let's see what I can write for this week as well, and welcome to this week VNTS Review as usual. From Irotoridori KS, I must admit that it's quite worrying when it's about to reach the last days seeing that it's still slightly more than half. But when the KS was almost close suddenly there's a lot of funding happening to the KS at fast rate, so we have Irotoridori KS successful with the fund barely reach the goal (At 85,359) in which it managed to hit the goal a few hour before the closing. As for the future title, since obviously the stretch goal was unreachable Sol Press did state that they'll see the way to funding both of Hikari and Akai when they finished with Irotoridori, and it could take a long time there. So in case you want the whole trilogy to be translated, what I can say is that we need to wait for quite a while here. Once again I'm content enough with the first part managed to be funded seeing that Hikari was classified as fandiscs, although getting the rest of the trilogy would be very necessity for Irotoridori hardcore fans though. I like that Mangagamer managed to have their bi-weekly update again, so let me tried to round it up here. For their secret project, they decided to add one more so we have four secret projects to track from Mangagamer and that we don't know whether it'll be interesting title or just a short nukige although for now my guess is leaned toward short nukige though (I might be wrong on this, seeing that back at 2017 some of the secret projects turned out to be interesting title). For secret project roundup, we have 1st was at 51% edited, 2nd was at 93% translated along with 89% edited, 3rd was at 86% translated along with 21% edited, and 4th was at 69% translated. For their other project, we have Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 was at 77% edited, Escalayer was fully edited, Sona-Nyl was at 89% translated, both of Amrilato and Hashihime entering the tesing, and Amatarasu was finished the testing. Other than those updates, we also have one nukige release from them so if you like nukige then it should be interesting to try (At least it got Kawashima Rino as seiyuu if you like her voice). From fan translation, we have Watamasu was almost halfway (At 49%) translated, Harugi's Branch was at 56% translated, Tokihogushi was at 43% edited, 5,367 lines from Pure x Connect were translated along with 2,120 lines of that were edited, and we have Tsurezure did released Sora's patch in which she's sort of like Hoshiori's main girl simply because her route did carry the star theme that was quite prevalent on the title (You can get the patch here if you've been interested with her since Hoshiori project been announced). Of course other than Sora's patch release, we already have the progress for Natsuki's route and currently Natsuki's route was at one third (33.44%) translated and overall Hoshiori was already reached 90% (91.50%) translated so we should get Natsuki's patch (Hoshiori full patch for the reminder) by the time Easter come later (Should make it a good Easter gift). I think that's all for this week VNTS Review and sorry for being a short one here. See you next week.1 point -
Demon's Carnival Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Foreword - Still no VNTS considering that the page was still not fixed along with Decay will gonna be busy with two Nekonyan's projects (And it mean that he'll no longer working on Nukitashi), so here's usual VNTS Review from mine and I hope that you'll enjoy it. First of all Merry belated Christmas to all of Fuwanovel's users and guests here. Second as for this week title it's simply because I'm combined the Making Lovers (Makeover) (Nekonyan's announcement) opening song Girl's Carnival with Nanairo Reincarnation, so we got 'Demon's Carnival'. For more explanation, in Nanairo we got a setting where the MC did got live together with the demon, so I decided to add the 'Demon' word there. Note that there's a soundtrack with the same name out there, but of course I wouldn't review that here. As for this week, there's a lot of hightlight namely that this week we have three nukige title releases along with surprise Rikka's patch release, Nanairo release announcement by Sekai, and most importantly two announcements from Nekonyan (Makeover and another title). So in hindsight we'll going to have quite a bit of contents to talk, and let's see what I can write about those hightlights here. Back at 19th we have Sweet Pool release by JAST in which it's translation was heavily edited compared to the previous patch, so perhaps this release would be slightly less redundant although if I may say something JAST should have more release though. While the premise is quite interesting with bizarre sickness and hallucination, in the end it's BL which is not my cup on tea so I'll pass. Go get that from both of JAST store and Steam in case you want to get this legally, and have fun. Speaking about Steam, we also have Sekai did set their Steam store page for Nanairo which mean the release date for this was almost near, and in this case it would be at Q1 2019 so we should get this by March's end at most if all goes well seeing that usually the company need to preparing a lot of things before the release. I hope that Steam won't banned Nanairo here, so that Sekai can release their big title in a while without much problem seeing that they did lose one of their license. Other Frontwing did announce that they'll delay Sharin release to February later in which it mean that there'll be more wait for the people who want Sharin from FW, although personally I did think it's a redundant release though so no much need to wait for Sharin to me here. We also have some updates from Sol Press as well in which they'd finished both of translating and editing work for Hitotsuba, along with the updates from both of Onikiss (58% translated and a quarter edited) and Kimi to Aogi (78% translated and 40% edited). Other than that, I think there's none seeing that they'll start the other three (ie Nukitashi, Mirai Radio, and Himawari no Kioku) at 2019 later including Irotoridori KS, so that's all for the last Sol Press updates at 2018. Just in case you like otome VN and happen to have PSV, then you can try London Detective Mysteria that was released by XSEED back at 18th, in which it'll told the story of how about a girl who be able to date some handsome men that was happen to be the descendant of the great detective, and those men along with the female MC was about to investigate some mysterious things that was happened around them. We also have Quof announced his nukige work in which it happen will be released by Fakku in the future, and that the premise itself is full of pun if you understand Japanese lol (The puns are in regard of Japanese word for penis). Not quite interested with both of the release and the announcement seeing that the release is a BL VN and the announcement is a nukige, but some people may like it one of those two title (Not both obviously although maybe there's some people who took the liking to both of two VNs out there). We also have some surprise that Nekonyan was announced back at 21st, and it's in regard of one of their announcement. But before going to that, let me say that I did find Makeover opening song here is quite catchy to me, and that I'll look forward to the release even though it might took a long time seeing that Nekonyan will release this at Winter 2019 later. As for Makeover itself, it's another Smee VN that did have same system as Fureraba along with of how the MC want to find his own girlfriend, so the most thing that I can say is that we better expect this as moege (Duh). Their other announcement is quite surprising because the name of the announcement is Senren Banka in which if we remember it is one of Sekai AX 2017 announcement, and perhaps it mean the rumor that the relationship between Yuzusoft and Sekai was quite shaky is true. Anyway the premise still the same though that the MC got the sword that was stabbed in the rock and the sword turned out to be the girl, and therefore my advice is still the same that it would be better if we expect Senren as normal charage. As for the release estimation, Nekonyan say that they'll release it by late summer 2019 so obviously it'll take a while here. With this Nekonyan's announcements was increased to seven, and I just hope that Nekonyan will be able to release all of those at 2019 later. Fan Translation We have three nukige VNs sudden releases here, and two of those were involved some NTR which may not appealing for some people (I also like to note that one of those two NTR VN was from Atelier Sakura which if we remember did have partnership with Mangagamer). As for the third VN, it was in regard of a nurse whose meet up with her childhood friend (The MC) who want to be a doctor only to suffer the accident, and then the nurse did his best to take care of her childhood friend so much that she's willing to go prioritize the MC over her other patients. We obviously didn't need to guess what will happen between the childhood friend couple in that nurse VN, but I did find that it's quite popular because it did have PS4 port with reworking scene to allow the VN could be enjoyed without the sex scenes and it mean that obviously it'd need a lot of rewriting seeing that the original VN itself is nukige. Oh the team that was behind nurse VN translation is Oxford Comma in which if we remember was the one who translate both of Noble Works and Miu's route of Dracu Riot, and this time worked it in secret before they suddenly release this back at Sunday. Regardless of my personal opinion on nukige (Didn't interested much), I would still say congratulations on the releases and I hope that whoever play those three will have fun of playing it. For the roundup this week fan translations update, other than sudden Rikka's patch release by Tsurezure we have Eustia was at 60.65% translated along with 45.04% edited, Harugi's overall was at 38% translated with Miyabi's route was at 91% translated along with Branch was at 44% edited, Loverable was at 54.16% edited along with 31.25% QC-ed, Oreimo Tsuzuku script was fully finalized, Summer Pocket common route was completely translated and the current progress was at 15,5% translated with the detail 17,291 out of 111,484 lines were translated, and Yoigoshi was at 93% translated. For the last update from fan translation, we have a surprise Rikka's patch release from Tsurezure in which if we remember Irru keep saying that they might not be able to make it by Christmas, and here we are with the Christmas gift from Tsurezure in form of Rikka's patch. Obviously the patch here will translated Rikka's route here along with Marika's and Misa's, so go get the patch here if you already want to play Rikka's route there and have fun. By the way Irru also say that Trip want to take one or two week of rest, so they may not have the progress at Touko's route for the next week so hopefully there'll be one at 2019 later. As for the progress from Hoshiori, it should be obvious that Rikka's route here is fully translated along with 54.06% of it (Congratulation to Tsurezure for halfway translating Hoshiori there). That's all for fan translation updates. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and once again Merry belated Christmas. See you next week.1 point -
Es no Houteishiki / Esの方程式 [Abodagio Powers]
Darkrex86 reacted to kivandopulus for a blog entry
Foreword: I did not want to review it. But then I watched the hentai OVA of its preuel - Mystery of the Necronomicon (黒の断章 Kuro no Danshō) and it's a total blast. I highly recommend to watch it to everyone. A very memorable and bloody occult detective story. There was no anime version of the sequel, so I rushed in. Title: Es no Houteishiki Developer: Abogado Powers Date: 1996-06-28 VNDB link: https://vndb.org/v8874 Synopsis: "Es no Houteishiki" is the second game in the Detective Suzusaki series. The events described in the previous game, "Kuro no Danshou ~The Literary Fragment~", led to a series of suicides, but the case was believed to be closed. But Kusanagi, the young brilliant psychologist and assistant of the famous detective Suzusaki, has now to face his own past. The traces lead to a remote village, which has seen nine mysterious, unsolved murders in eleven years. Soon, Kusanagi discovers a strange religious cult, that might shed some light on his past... Structure: One route without branching or dead ends. Length: 4 hours Game type: Point and click occult detective mystery. Difficulty: Easy. Just need to aim at the mouth of the needed character all the time. There were like only 10 times when needed to click something else. And one screen that took me the longest is where I had to click at tiny triangle of pantsu to advance the story... Character Design rating: 5/10 Protagonist rating: 6/10 Story rating: 8/10 Game quality: 5/10 Overall rating: 7/10 Rating comments: Story is not bad at all. The problem lies with the clustered systems, lots of unnecessary female characters and H-scenes and shallow characters. Protagonist: Young psychiatrist Kusanagi. Nothing extraordinary besides that. We never see his face as if he's telling the story of Suzusaki detective from afar. At least he's of some use in this game - he witnessed some disturbing events in psychological facility eight years ago and those events now backfire. Characters: There are too many useless female characters introduced for the main purpose of H-scene, I bet. Apart of that, it's the same cast, evercool Suzusaki, same two police detectives and cute secretary Asuka. Well... she's actually cute only the first time we see her as her sprite is more or less transferred from the first game. As for me, all the character designs and CG in this game are ugly, yet the drawing is very fresh. Maybe it suits the atmosphere of the game, but I can't sympathize with those weirdos. At least let me show you the cute Asuka the first time we meet her in this game. Story: That's the most difficult part! Story is much more shallow that that of the prequel. And to cover that shallowness we constantly have to be distracted by slice-of-life fragments with some girls or H-events with them and when that's not enough we get to see the flashbacks from the past, mostly from that psychological facility 8 years ago. So the story starts as Kusanagi with his girlfriend come to a quiet ordinary town... that in the night becomes prostitutes town. Why oh why was such stupid move about prostitutes needed? Suzusaki bought a full building to establish detective agency here and we deal with a strange series of suicides. The victims usually open up their abdomen with a knife. Here's where Kusanagi memories show up ... first depiction of his activities in psychological facility and its patients and then strange behavior of some staff members followed by same suicides. The new present time suicides are especially strange because they happened at the very same time with different persons who never knew about each other's existence. Suzusaki is already a well-known occult researcher so he digs some disturbing stuff about one of the three legendary items from Amaterasu god that is rumored to be in this town. And I don't think I'll spoil much if I say that one of the psychological facility members is involved (since there are a big number of both doctors and patients there). So it really felt like Silence of the lambs when he seriously appeals to the fault of the government, accumulated DNA diseases and overpopulation to justify provoking suicides. And Kusanagi gets to remember previous talks to him - lots of disturbingly serious stuff to chew. CG: The only full-screen CG are actually HCG with just maybe 2 ordinary CG for couple girls. The most important events are depicted on some 1/3rd of the screen just as usual backgrounds (character sprites go beyond the background so they are full-height) so resolution is poor and lacks immersion. Sound: I really prefer midi sound. But here we get the usual .ogg or something. So music often starts at the beginning of the sequence, plays for some 2 minutes and goes down. For the rest of the sequence we get to play in total silence. That's not good. The game is not voiced... oh wait, there is exactly one phrase voiced - it's in one of the later scenes when there is imminent danger rises, Asuka cries "Oniii-chan!" and that's all. Systems: I usually hate to speak about systems, but in this game it just has to be done. First of all, the game won't load correctly in win10. But we've got dxwnd to cover that, no biggie. Second issue is that at least in win10 font is so bad that every character is only some 30% filled - we see different dots of it and usually can guess its form, but it may be just win10 issue, no biggie. We still hook the text and it's drawn as usual this way. Game is point and click, but it narrows down to mouths hunting as characters sprite move. There were like only 10 occasions when I had to click on anything else rather than mouth. The cursor does not change shape while moving on different objects... in fact it does not change shape ever and you have to point the ugly white small cursor everywhere! For the first half of the game there are no interactive commands, but then Suzusaki tells us to move and explains us how to push at the border of the screen to invoke the menu for moving! Great - I thought - since I totally overlooked that mechanics! So in the second part of the game we can invoke that menu and push move... and guess what... we don't get to use it even once... and when I attempted to there was a usual commentary than I need to do something else rather than go away. And the last - but not the least - there is a map of psychiatric facility in the game with a lot of rooms and initially we get a chance to come to every of those room and talk to its inhabitants. But this map is later used just once when we hear a woman's scream and need to find the source among those rooms! And when we found the source, we never ever get back to that map... So there are lots of systems piled together and each of those system is crumbling and poorly designed. Overall comments: As I already told, story is good. But Japanese reviewers promised falling back from occult matters in the realm of psychoanalysis and physics and that's barely true. What I see is the same occult stuff, just spiced with mental illnesses. ES should have only ment that inner chaos that is protected by the wall of consciousness. But in reality ES kind of also started to mean ESpers at some point. It should have been a story from the reality and in fact it involves too many surreal stuff. I can't blame the game or Japanese reviewers for that game was not fulfilling my expectations. If we look at it just as a sequel of Mystery of Necromonicon, it's a sequel worthy of its prequel and it should only be examined as direct continuation of prequel, not some original story with original themes. I rated this game quite poorly because of unnecessary slice-of-life episodes, useless spontaneous H-scenes, crumbling systems and poor character design and CG. But if those factors are overlooked we get a good story and I like good stories.1 point -
Fata Morgana no Meikyuu Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Foreword - It appear that there's no VNTS for this week again perhaps because both of Decay and admin Tay were busy, so I decided to make another review here without VNTS itself. I hope that by the next week we'll have a VNTS at Fuwanovel main page. Since we have Fata Morgana fandisc release and the main story of the fandisc is an event from the past just like both of Meikyuu and Sharin, I decided to just use the subtitle for Grisaia no Meikyuu here for the review so we have 'Fata Morgana no Meikyuu' for this week title. Which somehow could be more fitting if we consider that Fata Morgana story was starting from somewhere in French, and as we know Frontwing always using French subtitle for Grisaia trilogy there. As for this week, while the fan translation side here is quite lacking in addition with one of the project was officially localized, in turn we have a lot of Mangagamer announcements from both of their ACEN and usual monthly announcements, so I think it's somehow balanced at this week. That said other than Fata Morgana fandisc, there's no other major release for this week. Let's see what I can write for this week as well. In regard of Tsundere Idol nukige, we go the exact date for the release in which it'll be at 28th later. While we should expect that they'll gonna release the 18+ patch for the Steam version, it's quite interesting though seeing that it's still managed to get the approval despite the controversy in regard of Steam attempt to take down some VNs at their store, and for the note all of the game that was about to be taken down is have some sex content. So when Tsundere Idol here manage to pass the test, I'm wonder if it'll have 18+ patch for Steam release as well considering that Steam apparently also banned 18+ patch as well. Of course we also gonna get 18+ version as well, so you don't need to worry whether the sex scenes would be cut or not. Other than Tsundere Idol exact release date announcement, we also have Newton VN both of fully translated and edited. With the translation process done, all what's left is that Sol Press need some Steam review before allowed to sell it at the Steam store. In wake of waiting for the Steam approval, unfortunately it's causing the release to be delayed to early June later. I just hope that the release would be going to be successful later. From fan translation we got Eustia was at 43.46% translated along with both of TLC and editing was at 32.35%, Shin Koihime Musou was at 94% translated, and Pure Pure was at 73.47% translated with Hinata's route was at 85.21% translated. Usual updates aside, we also have surprise in form of Amayui prologue patch. As for my comment about this, apparently the group behind this is the one who responsible for some interface patch of Eushully VNs, and most importantly the group is not Nekohen in which is quite infamous with them machine translated Eushully VNs. That said even though the result of dialogue patch might not be satisfying for some people, personally I would like to keep my eyes close on this project if possible, and hopefully we'll have fully translated dialogue patch from Amayui. We have Sekai's announcements at AX as well, and let's just said that only Sumire interest me a bit because of the graphic. For the info, the premise of Sumire is one MC who is always play galge online, only to have his relationship in real life with his online friend is a bit awkward before finally try to open up. While on paper the premise is sounding good, unfortunately from the reviews what I saw it's quite mixed to say the least so I kind of hesitate to play it later (The EGS score of Sumire is quite good though). For one more info, the creator of Sumire was also the one behind Narcissu and one of Sumire's character is also a character from Narcissu Sumire, so it's only inevtable that Sekai will localized this because it's from one group. There's also My GF is a Mermaid VN as well in which the title itself is obviously resembled Osadai localized title. What I knew is that this is a Korean VN that was only available for Switch, so I'm not quite interested with this. In regard of Bokukotsu, Sekai still waiting for Chinese script integration and Steam content, but at least Sekai tried to have it's released at this year, so let's just wait and see. Mangagamer As for Mangagamer, most of this week announcement is come from them. But first of all let me say congratulation to mod Dergonu in regard of Tsui Yuri (Localized as Sisterly Bliss) announcement, because it's one of their announcement back at ACEN. As for the premise, it's just the twin sister who try to maintain their lover relationship while keep it secret from their mother. Graphically speaking, it's looking good so at least so I think it should be interesting enough, so good luck with the release later. We also have Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 (Localized at Funbag Fantasy 2) announcement which is good if you look forward to more Kyonyuu Fantasy, although to me it's just another nukige announcement though. Overall even with Tsui Yuri announcement, the announcements is just on the average side because usually Mangagamer tend to have bigger announcement at AX later, but at least it's new announcements so it's quite not too bad I suppose. Even though the ACEN announcement itself is quite average, at least the bunch of Mangagamer updates look interesting enough to make it up, and looks like they'll indeed going monthly instead of two weeks each like in th past. Anyway as for Mangagamer monthly updates we get Tsui Yuri was both fully translated and edited (I would be surprised if the progress is still at 0% translated after one year of work to completed this), Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 was at 57% translated and 48% edited, Sona-Nyl was at 44% translated (Maybe I should expect that it'll be finished at July 2019 with this speed, and 2020 release for the soonest), Trinoline was at 95% translated and 64% edited, Rance quest was at 93% translated and 82% edited, Steam Prison was at 87% for both of translating and editing progress, and Amatarasu was at 84% translated and 19% edited. Other than the updates, we also have both of Sengoku Rance and Hashihime about to enter the testing along with Japanese version of Koropukkur, while Evenicle is already finished with the testing and about to be have some editing process again. While unfortunately we still didn't have exact release date for Evenicle here, I think it could be possible that it'll be out at this year. Especially if we look at Mangagamer project list in regard of the VNs that already finished the testing (Evenicle, Damekoi, Sweet Switch, Bitter Exclusion, and Hapymaher). If we follow Mangagamer pattern here, I think right now all of those VNs were in queue to be released, and one of those could be announced at May 31st later along with Kuroinu release (I might be wrong in regard of this though). By the way from what I saw here each time Mangagamer released their VN it'll be followed by the announcement of next release exact date, so they should be announced something along with Kuroinu release looking from the pattern. Once again the release for this week from Mangagamer was Fata Morgana fandisc, in which it'll depict some characters past along with the glimpse of the after story of main Fata Morgana. So if I may say here it's more or less just like Meikyuu, in which back at Meikyuu we also saw some characters past (Mainly our Grisaia MC Yuuji though). Although it's just the fandisc, it should be a nice treat for any Fata Morgana fan so you may get that if you interested with more Fata Morgana. Also just like the pattern that I explained before, Mangagamer announced the exact date for their other release in which it'll be at June 15th later, and the release in question is Tsumihoroboshi which is another part of Higurashi. With Tsumihoroboshi here,l now we already have three quarter of original Higurashi retranslated, and it also mean that we'll gonna have Tsumihoroboshi voiced with PS3 graphic later. That's all for this week, and see you next week.1 point -
The Interview with Alice Bedford Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (12/03/2017) As for the title, it was based on the 'Mendan' part from Sansha Mendan which translated as 'interview', and the Alice Bedford part was because we had Newton VN Kickstarter (KS) with her as the main heroine - the blonde girl who resembled Michiru from Grisaia with the green eyes and the one who had Isaac Newton name in that VN. By the way, I knew that the VNTS image was from Eustia but even so I decided to keep the title that I made here. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for this week we had two releases in which both of those release were nukige (One of those was aftermentioned Sansha Mendan). Oh, and we also had Newton VN KS with the goal was higher than Sakusakura. Other than those notable updates, it's mostly usual one and let's see what I could write for this week as well. No surprise that Sekai did delayed Tokeijikake there, but at least they already prepared the Steam store page for that so it wasn't as bad like when Sekai delayed Saku Saku release twice without Steam store. That said, apparently they waiting for the third party which from the KS update was apparently they tried to fulfill the requirement for all release that were set by license holder, and one all of those requirements were finished they'l announced the exact release date. In the end, I think it would be better to just waiting for now seeing that apparently there's still some work for Tokeijikake release, and perhaps better expect early 2018 release. Fan Translation We still had update from Eustia, and right now it was at 28.02% translated (The edited and QC-ed lines count stay the same) - not much I admitted there (Probably real life matter) but at least it's still going. For Loverable, not much translated lines update with the current progress was at 95.12% translated with Kaho's route was at 67.46% translated, with some progress from the editing and TLC part in which it was at 27.29% and 64.43% respectively. Musumaker was still stable with 44% translated as of now, while Venus Blood Chimera was at 90% translated, and Shin Koihime Musou was at 10% edited. From Pure Pure, right now they managed to translated more than halfway for Chapter 3 with the progress was at 52.17% translated while for overall it was at 47.39% translated, and keep in mind that Pure Pure translation as of now was still rough. There's some sort of Konosora restoration progres as well, and looks like both of common routes and Ageha's route was passed the 1st QC, which mean it still a long time to be finished. For Tsujidou, right now Maki's route was at 78.47% translated and overall was at 69.11% translated - at least there's no regress considering that many thing happened in regard of Tsujidou translation if I may say something. As for Sansha Mendan, well congratulation for the release there Quof. In regard of that, to be honest I didn't interested with that but a release is a release so I should write what I know. As for the VN itself, apparently our MC was pretty manipulative so that he tried to train some of older girl ie teachers to be his slaves (Obviously sex slaves) because he didn't like the girls at his age - or to be exact he treated girls at his age as kids. Not much I could say in regard of that, other than have fun if you interested and want to play Sansha Mendan there. Oh, and I would like to knew how much progress that Quof had in regard of LxC2. Other Other than Sansha Mendan we also had nukige (Tenioha) which is a surprise release at Nutaku. From what I saw, looks like it gather some controversy in regard of censorship and people probably wondering about that as well, because they remembered that Nutaku made a promise to didn't do any more censorship now that they became online store for 18+ VN (And 18+ game as well). What I want to say is that Nutaku was apparently was quite infamous because of heavy censorship, and people was quite wary of their releases in the past. I admit that I didn't knew much about Nutaku here, so I'll leave it at that. What I knew is that the censorship was apparently in regard of virgin blood and the trap route, which is quite understandable at least because people mostly won't care about virgin blood in the first place (Or maybe find that disgusting) and the trap route was certainly out there when we had a nukige that was supposed to show all of straight couple. What I want to say is that while I agree that censorship was not good, most people out there would be felt disturbing to see a gay route as one of the option and there's sex scenes for that. In the end, I didn't care much about Tenioha though and have fun to play if you already had Tenioha. For the last news here, we had Sol Press announced Newton VN KS and the goal was at 31,200 which is higher than Sakusakura (At 24,000). From the first look, I think it would be quite a struggle seeing that back at both of Sakusakura and Chuusotsu I saw the number was going up slowly even though the goals were lower than Newton VN, so good luck to Sol Press there. Or so that's what I would say if the gathered fund was not at 36,887 as of now, which mean that the KS was successed almost instantly so much that it was surprised Sol Press. Congratulation in regard of successful KS to Sol Press there, and hopefully we could see the good result from Newton VN there in regard of translation from the demo considering that they did the partnership with Mikandi, which back at Libra made wrong decision that cause some infamy in regard of the translation - I hope that Mikandi didn't repeat their mistake in regard of translator. Oh, and the plan was that the VN will be released at May 2018 later. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
Bocchi Musume: Futari no Ikemen Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Apparently this week Tay was at around Carribean where hurricane Irma was just passing, and the damage at there was quite severe in which it also affected the internet connection as well. So once again, unfortunately we couldn't had VNTS here just like last week. Even so, I decided to make the VNTS Review here so enjoy and if I missing the updates here just write in comment. For the title, since we had both of Utawarerumono 3 and Boukaku release there I decided to join two title here - Bocchi Musume from Boukaku full title and Futari no Ikemen from Utawarerumono 3 (The real subtitle for Utawarerumono 3 was Futari no Hakuoro), although it was the truth though that Boukaku did had two handsome man hence the title 'Futari no Ikemen' (Two handsome men, and by the way apparently this is also the title for a doujin drama CD yaoi porn lol) which of course should be obvious considering that Boukaku was otome game in the first place. Other than the releases, this week we lacking the updates here if I may speak the truth. Although of course there's still some updates here, In which I'll try to report on that. For fan translation, let me do the roundup for this week fan translation segment. For the roundup here, we had Loverable was at 53.2% TLC-ed and 21.4% edited (Kaho's route was at 13.25% translated), Pure Pure was at 29.54% translated with Chapter 2 was at 58.33% translated, and Tsukiyori was at 15.3% translated. As we had Subahibi released, finally we could see a progress from Sayooshi which right now it was at 43.9% translated now that apparently vvav was finished with Subahibi and imouto hemorroid VN thing, so hopefully we could see more progress from Sayooshi here. For the last progress here, we had Tsurezure do the update on Tsujidou in which it was at 47.3% overall translated with Ai's route was finally reach 90% mark (92.47%) translated, and they also stated that they should finished Ai's route next week and release Ai's patch at September's end (After doing image editing, second reading, and make the patch). That's all for fan translation section. As for Mangagamer, I think that they'll gonna had the batch of updates at next week - and by the way they announced the release date for Space Live which is at 29th later (I'll talk about that later there). As for this week, they released Boukaku in which it was already been a year since it was announced back at AX 2016. As for the premise, we had a girl who is shunned because of her height and her scary face and the shunned was causing her confidence to be plummeted. At least until she met with two handsome men in which they would change the girl's life forever, by turning her into a model although the girl was not quite thrilling for the chance though at first. The premise here was remind me of Paradise Kiss anime, especially in regard of recruiting an ordinary girl to became a model although back in Paradise Kiss we only had one love interest though. For more additional info, this VN was actually had sex scene which is usually lack in any otome VN because most of that were didn't had sex scenes. Anyway, have fun for playing Boukaku out there if you already got that. Right now Sakusakura was still gathering 15,874 with a week remaining. To tell the truth, it's looks very worrying considering that Sol Press only had little time if they really want to gather 24,000, and yet right now they just barely managed to got almost two third of the goal. Hope that by the end of KS that they managed to release it. For the last update, we had Utawarerumono 3 in which it was for console (PS4) so if you didn't had the console obviously you couldn't play that (Like me here). As for Utawarerumono itself, I think the first VN was conclusive enough although apparently Leaf was felt otherwise though so much that they made two sequels for Utawarerumono ie they want to milk Utawarerumono series - I would also like to ask the question though why they didn't release both of Utawarerumono sequels for Steam yet. My nitpick aside, I believe that Utawarerumono 3 was look quite good so if you already owned Utawarerumono 3, have fun for playing that. That's all for this week, and once again see you next week.1 point -
First Love, Basketball, and Pizza Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/08/2017) Edit - Since we had our Decay trying to add VNTS weekly, I'll add VNTS link for this week as usual. I knew that the image header was not Kyou from HatsuKoi, but rather it was from Aiyoku no Eustia (Good thing that it's finally added to VNTS). Even so, I decided to keep my own VNTS Review title for this week because it's more fitting imo looking at HatsuKoi Kyou's patch release once again. As for the review title, since this week we had Kyou's patch release from HatsuKoi translation project, I decided for the title we had something like Koichoco full title (Love, Election, and Chocolate) with some adjustment. First love was the direct translation from Hatsukoi, while pizza and basketball was what we could see from Kyou's route later, so we had 'First love, Basketball, and Pizza' as the title. With the title matter done here, let me said that other than Kyou's patch release, there's no major complete release for this week so I could say that this is a calm week after Boston convention. Speaking about convention, there's SakuraCon next week although this time apparently only Sekai that will had the announcement though. With that done, let's move on to the actual review. This week there's a video from Visual Arts. I knew that sounds lame here because it's mean that I was like promoting a random video from Youtube lol. But actually it's important video in which it was Little Busters Complete Edition with English subtitle. Speaking about that, there's also a news that apparently Baba (Visual Arts CEO) was planning to release it on this spring. Which mean that it'll be at least early June for be the latest if we speaking about the spring (Unless we count Australia, in which case it would be early December lol). Although I kind of wonder a little bit whether Fruitbat Factory will be involved in the release or not (Probably is, considering that our Phlebas from Fruitbat involved with the translation of original version in the past). As for my comment, well at least we could read three more additional routes which should be satisfy any Little Busters fan there. For Sekai section, there's not much to say here other than at least there's still some updates from them (Bokukotsu was almost reach halfway translated (49%), while their first secret project was at 68%). Although this week they only had few updates here, actually this week Sekai releasing two demos for their coming soon VNs. The first demo was Nekonin which apparentlybgetting ready for April release and also already opened the Steam store, thile the 2nd demo was from Fatal Twelve which safe to said quite interesting because the Kickstarter wasn't ended yet. Go get those two from their Steam stores (Nekonin and Fatal Twelve) if you interested. Speaking about Steam store, there's also another one established for Rakuen which mean the release date was close (Good for Grisaia fan), and apparently according to Steam the release date was at April. Other than Sekai, this week Mangagamer was also had some updates. For the updates it goes like Trinoline was at 6% translated (Very recent VN and all), Hapymaher was at 73% translated (66% edited), Sorcery Joker was at 85% translated, Boukaku was fully translated and 91% edited (Very fast update there), recently announced BL VN (I'll call it Hashihime) was at 31% translated (Same number with Maggot Bait), Fata Morgana fandisc was past halfway (52%) translated and 30% edited, Naked Butler was past halfway (53%) retranslated, and Kuroinu Chapter 2 was fully translated (Also 58% translated). For loli nukige (Sweet Young Bride), it was already completed (Fully edited and translated) since it was still announced as secret project. As for secret projects, turn out that there's still six unknown VNs instead of five because Mangagamer add 7th secret project. For the progress, 1st was at 83% translated (78% edited), 2nd was at 55% translated (44% edited), 3rd was at 39% for both of translation and editing process, 4th was at 88% translated (58% edited), and the 7th was at 43% translated (32% edited). That's all for Mangagamer this week. For this week, first of all there's no Majokoi update at this week unfortunately (Hope there will be next week). Although of course there's still some update from other projects though (Duh). For the updates, this week we had Loverable which is at 59.54% translated right now, following with TLC progress at 29.94% and 17.26% edited (They also completed Satsuki's route, and they'll translate Nanako's route next). Other than Loverable, we had Witch Garden at 23% translated, Eustia finally reached 6% mark translated (Prologue was at 67.78% translated. For more elaboration it was at 45.98% edited and 25.44% TLC-ed for the prologue), ToHeart 2 was 70% proofread (Also Yuuki's route finished the proofreading), and Koiken Otome fandisc was at 2% translated (527 lines). For the last but definitely not the least update we had HatsuKoi project (Tsurezure) who released another patch (Obviously Kyou's patch once again), and of course there's some progress as well in which they tackle Maya's route right now just like they said (Maya's route was at 20.23% translated, while for overall was at 71.55% translated). That's all for my VNTS review this week albeit early. See you next week. PS - Today there's another HatsuKoi patch in which it goes like Maya's route was at 44.54% translated and overall translation progress was past three quarter mark (76.52%) translated. That's all for the additional update here.1 point -
The Refined Twilight Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Visual Novel Translation Status (03/26/2017) Welcome to this week VNTS Review and let me try to do my best to report all of available update here. But before that, let me say this week we had some announcement from Sekai and usual progress from both of Mangagamer and fan translation, so overall I think this is quite nice week here albeit with no complete English translated language VN release (Other than quite strange NTR trap nukige here). For Sekai Project, instead of usual weekly updates in the past (There's still some of that though) they had some announcement at this week. For the announcement, they planned for KARAKARA 2 which is sequel of KARAKARA with new heroines, Nekonin which is another catgirl game from their new partner Whirlpool, and Project Lux. As for the announcements, I interested little bit with KARAKARA 2 (Also with the new heroines) although I could say otherwise to Nekonin though (Not interested with that, and with 68 EGS score to boot). Not interested with Project Lux, although I admit that the girl was cute. Other than three announcement, Sekai also had Fatal Twelve Kickstarter which is already success as of now with the gathered fund at more than 35,000. As for the usual updates, this week we saw big jump at Kanonana which right now was at 60% translated, while for Daybreak it was at 72% translated (By the way, Kickstarter for Tokeijikake was finished), and finally we had Bokukotsu was at 39.46% translated. That's all for Sekai here. For Other section, there's Dies Irae which right now it was in debugging process (For English version), and also the 18+ patch was apparently planned to be finished at March (Although it's almost end though). For other news, we had Chuusotsu which will be released by Fruitbat Factory and will be also had Kickstarter. It was already entering Prefundia and it was planned to be released at this year. As for the premise, looks like we'll be going to had all girl cast here, although I suspect there's more to that though especially with suspiciously high average scores at VNDB (7.94 average which safe to said was quite high for usual moege imo. Also Moogy vote this 8 again, although it's not say much though). For last news at this section, finally Fruitbat announced that release date for Miniature Garden will be at March 30th (There's also some progress from Seabed which is 30% translated right now). Before forgot here, actually there's also Zero Escape Nonary games release at Steam with the addition of voice acting. Not quite interested for now, but I'd heard many positive review about the duology itselves. Go get it from Steam if you interested. Mangagamer This week we also saw some updates from Mangagamer, and apparently they'll be the only company who will be had panel at Anime Boston later with three announcements (One of those announcements was from new partner). Anyway, we obviously won't know what Mangagamer had for us here until the day of the announcement here, so I'll make some roundup for the updates here. The updates from Mangagamer goes like we had Sorcery Joker was at 83% translated, Hapymaher was at 71% translated and 60% edited, Fata Morgana fandisc was at 48% translated and 20% edited, Imopara 2 was at 64% edited, Kuroinu Chapter 2 was at 80% translated and 42% edited, Boukaku was at 73% translated and 70% edited, Naked Butler was at 47% retranslated, and for Maggot Bait it was 29% translated right now. Before forget here, we also had some secret projects update which goes like 1st was at 80% translated and 78% edited, 2nd secret project was at halfway translated and 31% edited, 3rd secret project was at 33% translated and 32% edited and 4th secret project was at 83% translated and 47% edited. For one more info, I think one of those secret project would be Kyonyuu Fantasy Gaiden looking back at Waffle tweet although I might be wrong here though (It's too obvious anyway). Fan Translation As for fan translation, we had some updates like usual along with another new project here. For the detail, we had Majokoi was at 69.5% edited (Still no translation progress yet because of translator change), Loverable was at 57.44% translated and 28.94% TLC-ed, Sono Hanabira 11 translation was completed (Still uncertain about time if release though unfortunately), and for Eustia right now it was at 5.51% translated and 2.98% edited (The prologue was reaching 60% mark translated (60.04%), and also edited at 32.37%). There's also the matter of Clover Days which Ittaku state that he'll see if there's a time for him to translate the rest of Anzu's route (At least it's confirmed that he'll also try to tackle Anzu's route). Speaking about established project, it was Koiken Otome fandisc project which was established by our Dergonu. I'll keeping track of this project weekly from now on (Good luck with the project there), and for the progress few hundreds lines (206 lines) of Minato's route were translated. There's also Witch Garden at 22% translated (I didn't keep track of it for a long time). For last news here, there's HatsuKoi Runa's patch release (Translated Runa's route obviously alongside common and Midori's routes), and they already had the translation plan which goes like they'll translated Kyou's route first, then Maya's and finally Yukino's. They also state the reason for taking Maya's route at 4th order was because it was the 2nd longest route after Runa's, and they afraid that if they tackle Maya route last it'll cause them the burnout. Oh, and by the way they already translated 13.53% of Kyou's route and the overall progress was at 54.41% translated (Also they'll had update later). That's all for fan translation section. That's all for my VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - There's also HatsuKoi update today (3/27) in which right now the progress is 42.13% of Kyou's route translated, and overall progress was at 58.79% translated. That's all for additional HatsuKoi update. PPS - For little trivia about the title, looking at how gorgeous the background one (It's from ef after all) I decided to just made the simple title 'The Refined Twilight' just because the current situation in the photo was at twilight, and the girl in VNTS header was Hayama Mizuki from ef (I don't care about Deluxe edition though). Another reason for the title would be I'd also search some girls using Mizuki's seiyuu (Gotou Mai) and found out that she was also voicing Ran from My Girlfriend is the President. Speaking about Ran, it was Japanese name for orchid and orchid in flower language was had the meaning of refinement. I think it's quite fitting for CG imo.1 point
