Foreword - No VNTS again, so you know what it means (I'll write another my own VNTS Review here). Either way, I hope that you'll enjoy this week VNTS Review even though I'm quite late here.
Since yesterday we have Chinese New Year, I'd been quite busy for two days beforehand so I'm sorry for being late here. Also happy Chinese New Year to anyone else who celebrated it, including me. As for the title, since we have Nine first part released I thought that it would be the best to parodied Nine first episode along with both of the main heroines of that work (Kujou Miyako) and Smile PreCure (Hoshizora Miyuki) into the combined name '9 -Nine- Episode 1: Hoshizora Miyako' because both of their character designer (Izumi Tsubasu for Miyako and Kawamura Toshie for Miyuki) work together in Mashiro Iro Symphony anime, and more importantly both of Miyako and Miyuki did share same seiyuu (Fukuen Misato). My ramble aside, I really like that finally Sol Press did their move on both of their rather big announcements (Irotoridori Kickstarter (KS) and Hitotsuba release) and that they already aggressive on that so we should be more interested with them in the future. Other than Sol Press big move, we have usual fan translation updates along with some updates from Nekonyan so let's see what I can write for this VNTS Review here.
First of all I knew that Pulltop did delay their release for their Konosora FD into February because they'd await Steam approval, which is we knew is been indecisive in regard of the censorship. My feeling in regard of that was quite mixed to be honest because while this could be a good slap for Pulltop to not release their work on Steam and started to sell their uncensored VNs on any other store (Beside Steam), this announcement could also mean that some developer would be over censor their localized VNs in order to fulfill Steam's indecisive censorship policy. In the end while I didn't look forward to Konosora FD much, I just hope that we still can see more VNs on Steam despite some happening like HGB and Konosora FD here.
We also have Noraneko release announcement here, and let's just said that we better wait for Senren Banka because the three heroines of Noraneko did share same seiyuu as Senren Banka (Kirihana, Sendai, and Kotori Yuka). One more reason for that is because it'll be censored according to the opening that I saw in which they use seiyuu's real name instead of their pseudonym (I did see that they list 'Eri Sendai' instead of 'Haruka Sora', in which the latter is Sendai's pseudonym in the eroge's credit), which mean that they'll release PS4 version instead of the default 18+ version. Let's just hope that they uploaded the wrong opening (Because they deleted the opening) and that they'll release 18+ version later, because I can see that the team could fix their mistake in regard of their introduction intro at their website so at least they should be able to hear some feedback from the fans.
From Sekai we have Nine first episode released with the premise the MC who is full voiced (His seiyuu is Atsuhi Abe if you curious) did caught up in mysterious incident case, and while at it he encountered some people with superpower. While this is definitely a VN with interesting premise and have the art drawn by Izumi Tsubasu to boot (The art is very good), it's quite unfortunate that Nine here is the episodic VN which mean that currently the story is still incomplete although from what I see apparently each episode will cover one heroine. In this case the main heroine for the Episode 1 here would be Kujou Miyako who is a rich businessman daughter and yet she's like to live humbly and very calculating when spending the money. In any case, we need to wait for 2020 (Estimation) if we want to enjoy it fully because even Palette didn't create the 4th episode yet, and even longer if we rely on the translated version like us because we wouldn't know if Sekai will announce the rest of Nine here (They should announce those parts if they want to sell the complete story). Have fun to anyone else who already been interested into Nine, despite that it's still the first chapter.
From fan translation, we have Eustia was at 65.82% translated along with 45.86% edited and 44.47% TLC-ed, Harugi's overall was at 55% translated with Shino's route was at 96% translated and Branch was at 47% translated (Along with 47% TLC-ed) - I'm kind of curious of how the progress will be going after Shino's route is finished, Watamasu was at 42% translated, Higurashi Yoigoshi's patch was released and the current progress for Tokihogushi was fully ported, 4,719 lines from Pure x Connect were translated along with 1,258 lines of it were edited, Relaxation Yuka was at 66.46% translated, and Hoshiori's overall was at 70.84% translated with Touko's route was fully translated (We may have Touko's patch at this weekend, although I didn't know for certain though). I think that's all for fan translation updates.
We have some updates from Nekonyan, in which we have Fureraba FD as their next release. As for their other updates, we have Aokana was at past halfway (60%) translated along with 20% edited and Sukiren was reach 90% mark translated along with halfway edited. From Sol Press we have Hitotsuba exact release date in which they'll release it at 15th later so at least we can treat it as Valentine's gift from Sol Press, and they already set the store at Steam (Good that it's still not banned) so you should pre-order that if you interested with the VN. I admit that the costumes were not as interesting as Aokana, but perhaps this one could be interesting seeing that it involving plane fight as the in-game fictional sport so that you can try Hitotsuba while we waiting for Aokana (Quite fitting seeing that Hitotsuba has been called as the second Aokana).
For the biggest news from Sol Press, we have them set up the KS for Irotoridori with rather sizeable base goal at 85,000 with the stretch goal was to released two FDs (Or sequels) at 170,000 for Hikari and 215,000 for Akai. I knew that some people did treat Irotoridori as trilogy, but apparently Favorite did sell Hikari as the FD. As for the release estimation, it'll be at December 2021 later which while I think it's too long actually it's quite reasonable time frame because it'll took many times to translate all of trilogy there. Personally I'm fine with the first part only though because it's been too much dying projects there, although obviously it's very good if Sol Press want to translate all of the trilogy. Good luck to the KS there and I hope it'll be successful for the sake of the one who wait for Irotoridori. As for the current funds, right now the KS managed to gather 28,277 out of 85,000 which is quite good for the first part here.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next time.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and apparently once again we have our Decay was being busy so we can't have VNTS here. As for the title seeing that we have Nine part 2 released I decided to make a seiyuu joke for this, and I'll tell the reasoon at PS later. As for this week, well we have a very predictable delay from Sol Press in regard of Kimiaogi which to say was not a good news here along with Nine 2 release and some updates from fan translation. Overall this week was quite a plain one here, and let's see what I can write for this week as well.
As for Kimiaogi delay while granted we already can predict it from back when they announced the exact release date back at AX, it's still quite unbelievable to me seeing that actually they announce the delay at the date when they supposed to do the release back at 16th. Apparently the reason for that is because they have some bug that was quite hard to solve immediately, and currently they working together with the developer to solve it. While there's might be another reason for the delay, I figure that it would be better to not say it seeing that at most it would be only a speculation. In the end, what I can say is that it would be better for Sol Press to not announce the exact release date until they are very absolutely certain that their product was fully ready for the release, although it might be too late for them (Honestly I don't believe that we'll going to see Nukitashi released at November 22nd later, but we'll see).
Speaking about announcing exact release date, we have Lemnisca announce the release date for Raging Loop so you may note the date here. For the date, they'll release it for NA version at October 22nd later and for EU version they'll release it at October 18th later. I don't know much about the region release things here seeing that I didn't experienced much here, other than obviously we still didn't get this for PC. It's too bad that Frontwing need to delay the release for Loca Love volume 2 thanks to Valve going berserk for seeing school setting in adult only release by deleting the store page for that, so we need to wait until FW cleared some issue. We also have Asagi apparently will be released on Steam (Perhaps it'll be successful seeing that it didn't have school setting unlike Loca Love), and Frontier was almost finished with the translation (Well they already said that they'll try to release this at December later, so let's see it later).
From fan translation we have Eustia was at almost three quarter (74.51%) translated with Eustia's chapter was at 26.99% translated, Miotsukushi Omote was at 14% translated, and Summer Pockets was at 39.51% translated with Tsumugi's route show some surprising progress at 37.91% translated. The reason that it's surprising was because I thought that they'll finish Kamome's route first seeing that back when Shiroha's patch released it have the most progress, but apparently the translator for Tsumugi's route was fired up to finish her route here. Well either way no problem to me here, as long as they can finish it. We also have a sudden activity from Yosuga no Sora in that apparently they add some new members into the team, so hopefully they can work hard for finally have this VN to be fully translated after almost eight years being in translation.
For Nine part 2 while it's still not acceptable that Sekai decided to delay it back at when it's supposed to be released (At 10th), at least it's nice that we didn't need to wait for years to see the story continuation unlike Tokeijikake. As for the premise, we obviously have the continuation of first Nine in which turned out that Kakeru's little sister Sora gaining the power from the artifacts, and that she started to help her older brother to investigate the mysterious incident that happened in the city. In this chapter, instead of Miyako we'll have Sora as the main heroine and that she's quite dedicated to Kakeru here. With this we already half of the four parts of the VNs (Supposedly), and hopefully Sekai can keep up their pace for Nine part 3 release here. Almost forget to say that Tsubasu obviously still in charge of the art, so perhaps you may interested to get this if only for the art alone (Once again her art is very good). Go get Nine part 2 at either Steam or Denpasoft, and have fun.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - Since we have Kakeru's little sister Sora as the main heroine, I made Sora's family name into Kamijou for this week title. The reason is because in Nine here we have Kakeru have the voice all the time and the seiyuu/VA for Kakeru is Atsuhi Abe, and recently I just know that Atsuhi Abe was voiced a protagonist for a very well known series 'To Aru no Majutsu Index' Kamijou Touma. Of course we never have Kamijou Sora as Touma's little sister in the real series, but maybe some fanfic writer want to write that if they wish so. Also it's interesting to note that we also have Sora that was voiced by Kirihana as well back at Hoshiori, which to say was quite a coincidence even with different writing in their Japanese name.
Visual Novel Translation Status (09/06/2020)
I'll tell the title at PS later, and welcome to this week VNTS Review. As for this week, I guess I can say that it's being another active one with both of Wan Nyan and Nine Episode 3 release in that the latter is Sekai's first big release at 2020. Other than those two releases, we also have MDZ of Koiresort translation fame decided to being active and recently he released Kosaka-san translation patch. The rest of the updates are mostly the progress from both of Nekonyan and fan translation, and also we have JAST announced yet another of monoceros's nukige. Let's see what I can write for this week as well.
For fan translation updates we have Harugi's Branch was at 82% translated, Shin Koihime Musou was at 36% edited, Loverable was at 90.38% edited, Reflection Blue was at 6.2% edited along with Alka reworking on the translation of original Summper Pockets (The translation on Reflection Blue is still resuming, and currently they working on the lines that mostly related on ping pong mini game), and Eustia was at 95.57% translated with side routes was at 71.24% translated. As for Kosaka-san, from what I read apparently the atmosphere of the VN is like Subahibi in that it's about the world that about to face apocalypse, and that it's quite short. For the premise, the MC was like to be going to the rooftop in order to escape from the bustle of lunchtime at school hours, and one day the MC met with a girl that was called Kosaka-san who inform that she want to commit suicide before meteorite destroyed the Earth in the short time. Go get the VN if you interested or want to see on whether it'll be really like Subahibi or not (I mean in regard of the atmosphere, not the twist), and have fun.
Turned out that Chinkamo here is indeed Love Lab's secret project and that it's been fully translated and edited, and for another update from Love Lab we also have Humbling of Holy Maiden was fully translated. JAST did have another monoceross's nukige, and this time is a nukige with the teacher with the name Kanosen. They also already have the release date for this, and it'll be at 25th later. This time I won't comment on how the heroine design make her look older like back at Shoujo Dominance, although her breast there is suddenly make me think that Wagahigh heroines breast are very small lol. Lastly we have Ninetails announced that they'll start the KS for Hypno later (ie today), so let's see on how they'll do the KS later in regard of their goal and their merchandise.
Since we have Mangagamer released Wan Nyan, of course they had announced their next release for the next month. And in this case, their next release is Mugen Renkan with the release date at October 1st later. Back to Wan Nyan, what I can say is that it's pretty much just very normal moege even with the sexy alternative costumes that they have, and for more info the heroines here are pretty much normal human who cosplaying as doggirl and catgirl to run the cafetaria although I have to wonder though on who would use dog and cat in real life family name. Also the MC here is a wanderer who have a lot of absence in the school and yet managed to be prodigy in sweet making because he's a bit obsessed with ultimate sweet, and that he managed to met all of six heroines in one way or another. If anything at least the MC have face and it's quite good looking so it's reasonable for the heroines to fall in love with him lol, which to say pretty unusual for this type of VN. Go get Wan Nyan if you want some pseudo doggirl and catgirl who run the cafe like Tokyo Mew Mew, and have fun.
Before going to Nine Episode 3 release, we have some updates from Sekai in that they fully translated Kimagure Temptation and that they have overall Rewrite was past halfway (55%) along with 44% edited. I won't bother to note that progress though seeing that it's too bothersome to count the lines for both of Rewrite+ and Harvest Festa, especially after I know that Rewrite+ cut some lines in exchange for adding some more new lines. For Nekonyan after their IxShe Tell release, we have them did usual updates. As for the updates, it goes like we have Aokana EXTRA 1 was fully translated and edited and currently the engine port for that is ongoing, both of Melty Moment and their secret project was at 40% translated, Riddle Joker was fully translated along with 98% edited and 40% in QA, and Clover Days editing will begin in this week with the engine port was delayed. After looking at both of Hello Lady and Riddle Joker progress, their next release might be Riddle Joker seeing that they decided to not port it to another engine unlike Hello Lady, although of course it can be change again.
For Nine Episode 3, this time the heroine is Haruka who is known as upperclassman heroines for Kakeru. As for the premise, this time Kakeru decided to infiltrate the rival group in that he suspect that one of the member might be the culprit behind the petrification case that was happened in the town. While at first the love between Kakeru and Haruka seem impossible because both of them are in opposite position, turned out that it can be happen there. Other than Kakeru x Haruka romance, this episode also reveal a lot of thing that was relevant in Nine and also the preparation for the finale at next episode (Which turned out might be not the finale seeing that Palette teased us for Episode 5 at 9th later). There's also some bugs happened in the translated version, namely that there's a CG that can't be displayed in the CG mode and some untranslated test, although it's more or less minor though (Not like I expect Sekai will fix those quickly anyway). Go get Nine Episode 3 if you've been like it since the first two episodes (Perhaps because of the arts that are quite beautiful), and have fun.
That's all for this week VNTS Review and I'm sorry for being late here. See you next week.
PS - For this week title, seeing that we have Nine Episode 3 as Sekai's big release I decided to make seiyuu (VA) joke like my past VNTS Review when two parts of Nine are released. After 'Hoshizora Miyako' and 'Kamijou Sora', this time we have 'Yoshikawa Haruka' as the parody of the heroine of Nine Episode 3 (Kousaka Haruka). Of course 'Yoshikawa' here is the VA joke in question, in that it's from Yoshikawa Yuko of Hibike Euphonium and that the character share same VA as Haruka (Yamaoka Yuri). As for both of Yuko and Haruka. the only similarities that I can say is that both of them are the upperclassman characters for the MC of the respective works (Kumiko and Kakeru) and that both of the characters at first are more or less at odds with the main characters (Haruka is more serious though).
Welcome to my very belated VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explain the title at PS later. As for this week, well there's quite a bunch of releases with the biggest one was Nine Episode 4. Other than that, there's also some updates as well with some of those are interesting to a degree. So overall I can say that it's been the biggest week that we have at this year, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well.
Shiravune did release Megasuki in which it gather some controversy along with some sex scenes between the childhood friend who is a member of track club and like to wear glasses. The controversy in question is that Shiravune did release this with Denuvo, which to say that was quite infamous in that it even cause the one who get it legally complained on how it slow down the game performance along with on how they need to connect to the internet all the time. Granted that it might be help to combat the piracy, although using this on short VN seems to be quite overblown and not quite worth the effort. In any case, I can only say that hopefully this is the first and the last time that Denuvo was used in translated VN release. From Fakku we have Perverse Incentives release at today in that apparently has some loli and interesting idea, although I don't exactly know on how much the contents in the VN itself though. Anyway go get the VN if you somehow interested with it, and have fun.
We also have HarmonEy release, and I only know that it's from same company as Tenkiame localization company so perhaps you may keep that in mind because apparently it has some bad translation. That said, if you want to see some slice of life between wife and husband that didn't have much drama, go get the VN and have fun. There's also a nukige from Cherry Kiss and once again it has unique localized name (My Married Cousin's Need for Seed), and apparently it has some sex between cousin because the MC was forced by his family to impregnate his cousin although the MC didn't really mind of it because he's been in love with the cousin and that he's been jealous when said cousin was married and have sex with her husband (So you'll have NTR cousin nukige). Not that it's interesting to me here, but if you interested with it then you can wait until it's released at April 2nd later.
Turned out that Laplacian did ask JAST help for their licensing, because we have their nukige was released by JAST back at 19th. The premise is that we'll going to have the husband tried to satisfy his wife who said as the most horny wife in the world with punny name (Kouguchi Rinko or if you prefer localized name Rikky Horne). Go get the nukige if you interested with it, and have fun. Speaking of Laplacian, turned out that there's a plan to localized their newest VN (And perhaps their Magnum Opus) Aojashin in which currently the translation of it is still ongoing and that there's a plan to release it in both of Englsh and Chinese language along with Steam release as well (The writer's tweet for the proof). No idea on who's the one who handle the localization here, but looking from their recent nukige release JAST seems to be quite possible although as far as I know JAST almost never release their VN on Chinese language though (Or perhaps they change their policy, although it's still too early to tell). Anyway I'll look forward in regard of Aojashin translation progress in the future.
As for this week fan translation, we have Eustia was at 84.42% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 45.27% TLC-ed and side stories was at 65.73% TLC-ed, 21,131 lines from Pure x Connect was translated along with 12,835 lines of it was edited, and Hokejo was at 28.2% translated. There's also Kirikoi KS in which currently it's been at 81,262 euro funded which mean it already exceeded the requirement for Golden Time license in which it's at 75,000 euro funded. That said, in regard of Golden Time I still waiting for the announcement from Nekonyan in regard of that. We also have their 3rd secret project was already approved by Valve which mean it's almost ready for the release, although whether the project in question is a big one or not we must wait until Nekonyan reveal it later.
It's good to see that Sekai finally release Koiama 2 with English language support after they'd release it with Chinese language only. Other than Sekai did release this without English language first, what I can say is that the atmosphere and the character design itself is resemble Gochiusa, so you can get it if you want to read something like Gochiusa (With the addition sex scenes because Gochiusa here didn't have sex scenes for obvious reason) and have fun. Lastly we have Sekai released Nine Episode 4 in which it's the finale of Nine tetralogy, and of course you can get it if you've been holding back in order to play the finale of Nine here. The premise here is that our MC Kakeru finally manage to find out the one who responsible for the petrification in the town, and in order to face the culprit Kakeru did enlist Noa's help along with some other heroines. Of course other than final battle, there'll be some romance as well and in this case Kakeru will have some romance with Noa. Go get Nine Episode 4 from Sekai, and have fun. Oh yes Palette did announce that they'll release new episode at April later, although it's more or less just after stories for Nine heroines though which is more like fandisc to a degree.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and once again sorry for being late here. See you next week.
PS - Since we have Nine Episode 4 release, once again I make the VA joke for this week VNTS Review by changing 'Yuki' to 'Izumi' so we have '9 -Nine- Episode 4: Izumi Noa' here (The title for Nine Episode 4 is '9 -Nine- Episode 4: Noa Yuki). The VA joke here is from Izumi in which it's the family name of Sagiri of Eromanga-sensei (Same author as Oreimo by the way) who has same VA as Noa (Fujita Akane). For the info, there's also anime character called Izumi Noa from the old anime Patlabor, although the kanji writing for both Noa are different.
Visual Novel Translation Status (23/07/2023)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll tell it in PS later. Anyway as for this week, let's just say that it's an above average one thanks to Nekonyan's release. Other than Nekonyan's release, we also have Cherry Kiss announce yet another nukige and Shiravune has some announcements. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week here.
We have From Madness with Love VN release, and what I can say is that the VN is about the MC who get transferred into another school because the MC last school was bombed by terrorists (Would be plausible to happen in war zone) will eventually date one of four heroes who are never in the same page with the MC. And yes I keep saying the MC, because the synopsis didn't mention whether the MC is male or female, so maybe this is self insert VN. Either way not my interest, but feel free to try if you're interested with it. For Cherry Kiss newest nukige, it's pretty clear the translator make the parody of Super Smash Bros with the title is Super Smash Gals: Ultimate Orgy. From what I see, the nukige is about the male MC who has his female companions being disgusted with thanks to the MC like to see their big breast, and the MC decide to correct the girls through sex. By the way it's about to be released, with the exact date will be on 28th later.
For some reason, Shiravune decided to delay Succubus Session 1st pat release to be between August or September. Curiously, turned out that their plan to release the 2nd part is actually not supposed to be known by public, so they removed the entry in Johren store back in 21st after said entry is being open for at least a week. They also released Queen of the Otaku back on 18th, and the premise is about two cute girls who enter the manga club with one of the girl is someone who is very popular and didn't like anyone else is more popular than her, so of course the popular girl would end up bullying the other girl (At least that's what I got from the synopsis and review). Lastly, they also announce the exact release date for White Album, and it'll be on August 4th later.
For fan translation section, we have H2O is at 15.8% in QC, Kozue's route of Haruka na Sora is at 41% translated, 908 out of 2499 (Around 36%) main script of Fate/Extra CCC are edited, ChuSingura is at 29.43% translated, Tsuma Netori is at 45% translated, Akagoei FD is at 73.56% edited along with 39.08% QA-ed, and Akagoei 3 is at 37.56% translated. There's a new group with the goal to translate Tsui no Sora Remake with the current progress was at 28% translated song with a quarter edited, although I may as well wait and see until very significant progress happening, such as the release of the full translation patch.
Last but not the least, we have Nekonyan released My Klutzy Cupid which to say is quite surprising seeing that it's Hulotte VN with Shiravune did release one of it's library (Kamiyaba). Like Kamiyaba, the MC still has need to deal with love through supernatural mean, and in this time the MC Tsumugu need to be contend with the titular klutzy cupid Eil. For the premise, we have Tsumugu find a suspicious note called Love Note with the cupid who owned it Eil forcefully pass the ownership to Tsumugu. While it seems that the Love Note can force someone to be in love with the owner, unfortunately he can't just write up the name like in Death Note to do so, but instead Love Note offer the advice to get closer to the name that written in there. Also turned out that Tsumugu only have 90 days to find his love interest, or else he'll not be able to have sex anymore. While the premise is very obviously parodying Death Note, turned out that it also has the story that resemble Bokuten, albeit without 'love can only bring suffering' stuff. Go get Klutzy Cupid if you've been waiting for it, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and sorry for being late here. See you next week.
PS - For the title, because we have Klutzy Cupid released with someone said that the 90 days limit is like American reality show 90 Days Fiancee (Besides Death Note and Bokuten). Said reality show has the premise of pairing the people from different country with the foreigner receive K-1 visa that require the foreigner to marry within 90 days, or else the foreigner must leave. So yeah, I decided to make the parody of the reality show by changing 'Fiancee' into 'Cupid', especially with the titular cupid would accompany Tsumugu through his love interest searching.
Sorry for being late in regard of VNTS Review again, and I'll explain the title at PS later. As for this week, my main focus here is on Sekai announcement in which it should be very exciting for the people who like to see Sekai's big backlog of licenses, so if you've been worried on how recently Sekai's backlog being thinned out don't worry because Sekai did address your worry by adding nine new VNs with eight of those new VNs are from Feng in which as we know was bankrupted. Other than Sekai sudden backlog increase, we have Chaos Head Noah monthly update along with some other update from fan translation, so overall I can say that this week is still interesting although it's not as excited as last week in that we have Nekonyan's new projects reveal. Anyway let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well.
We have Cherry Kiss release their cousin nukige (For the reminder the localized title is My Married Cousin's Need for Seed), in which I can only say good for anyone else who've been waiting for it so go get the nukige and have fun. Speaking of nukige, turned out that Mangagamer also have one announcement of it, and the nukige in question is from Waffle with the localized title Horny Elves and a Moral Orcs in that it'll depict on some horny elves like to sated their lust to a honorable orc who was spared by the Goddess in the past. Well nice to see that Waffle still willing to ask Mangagamer in regard of localized their VNs I suppose, and the nukige itself is based on a 4-koma manga. Still no progress on this yet so we don't know whether it's one of two Mangagamer's secret project or not, but at least I know that Doddler was involved with this.
From fan translation we have 21,886 lines of Pure x Connect were translated along with 13,441 lines of it were edited, 68.3% lines of original Summer Pockets was reworked, and Eustia was at 86.69% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 46.69% TLC-ed and side stories was past three quarter (78.70%) TLC-ed. For Chaos Head Noah, we have common route was past three quarter (76.96%) translated along with overall of it was at 83.50% translated. Other than the translation, this time we have new updates to pay attention on in which it's TLC and editing in that they'll do those two as the next progress after Chaos Head Noah was fully translated. For the info, there's already some update in both of TLC and editing with the progress was at 5.40% and 1.84% respectively. There's also some update from Sol Press, in that we have Nukitashi was fully edited and currently they've working on QA build so good luck to them in regard of that. Lastly we have Fruitbat already decided the exact release date for MAMIYA, and it'll be at 30th later.
Before going with their new announcements from Feng, let me list some of the updates that Sekai have here. For the updates we have Daybreak engine work was halfway done (Finally a progress after long time), Eternal Heart was fully translated, Sanarara R was fully edited, Kanojo no Seiikii was fully translated and edited, and Rewrite+ was at three quarter translated along with past halfway (55%) edited. We also have Nekopara Catboy Paradise in which instead of usual cute catgirl this time we have handsome catboy, and as such it should be obvious that it'll be otome version of Nekopara (Apparently it'll be all age seeing that I see Kaito Ishikawa did use his real name instead of the alias for the cast). Sekai did plan the release it at summer later, and currently they already fully translated and edited the VN so currently Sekai wait for the build of Nekopara otome here. What I can say is that at least Nekopara did try their best to satisfy their female customer, and that the artist here is Dies Irae artist instead of Sayori (She took the producer role here).
For Feng announcements, two of those are Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi and it's fandisc with the premise that the MC moved to the countryside for the sake of his little brother who has poor health. There's also Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka in which it's about the MC who have a quarrel with his fiancee back when the latter transferred to the MC school (Note that both of Kakaru Hashi and Akaneiro also got anime adaptations). After Kanojo no Seiiki, turned out that Sekai also licensed the rest of two Seiiki VNs (Gakkou and Imouto) as well. Another license is Chiisana Kanojo no Serenade in which it has the setting in the seaside village that has yearly mermaid festival, another one is about the MC who somehow manage to date his friend who turned out to be female, and lastly we have Feng's last VN Yume to Iro de Dekiteiru in that it's about the MC and the heroines formed a club that was supposed to give romance advice to the other students even though they're not experienced in that field. Well I guess it's good that Sekai licensed a number of VNs, although I'm not sure if they can work on this at reasonable pace if we look at their past progresses. Still good luck to them in regard of working on those new announcements.
That's all for what I can say in regard of this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - For the title, since we have MAMIYA release date announcement along with Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi announcement by Sekai, I decided to just parodied the English title for the latter (A Bridge to the Starry Skies) by changing 'Starry Skies' with 'World's End' from MAMIYA full title (MAMIYA - A Shared Illusion of the World's End) so we have 'A Bridge to the World's End' as this week VNTS Review.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have Icing release along with the big update in Akaneiro I decided to combined the word from both VNs so we have 'A Cake Iced in Scarlet' as this week title (By the way the title here did resemble the Sherlock Holmes story 'A Study in Scarlet'). For more elaboration, icing here is the process to coat the cake with sugar and obviously there'll be a lot of making cake in Icing seeing that both of the MC and his wife are patissiers, while as for 'Scarlet' part here it's simply because Akane here can be translated as scarlet. Anyway as far as this week concern, while release wise we only have Icing and otome VN Ayakashimori, Sekai here did a lot of updates with their bigger name including finally announced the exact release date for Rewrite. Overall this week is an interesting one thanks to Sekai's updates, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well.
Like I say beforehand, we have Venus Blood Frontier fandiscs was have Kickstarter and the result is that they successfully funded it with the fund gathered was at 2,611,916 yen which is more than twice of the original goal (At 1,200,000 yen), and in case you want to fund it there's still time in that it'll be ended eight days later. We also have the estimation release time for this, and it'll be at March 2022 later which should be more than possible to fulfill after seeing both of Frontier and Hollow. For Icing we have our nameable MC Shigure who is a patissier that married his colleague Akiho, and like previous VNs from Hachimitsu Soft that were localized by artlink obviously we'll see a lot of romantic moment between the married couple even with both of them are also rival in regard of patissier skill (Not that it stop them to run a cake shop together). Go get Icing if you're in the mood to read the VN that has romance in a cake shop, and have fun.
For Ayakashimori, well no much to say other than we got the female MC want to be the member of Ayakashimori in that it's a special bureau that deal with youkai and that it's only available for Switch, so you can try it if you're an otome game fans that have Switch and have fun. Shiravune licensed two nukige with one of those was released back at 3rd (FUCKOMOTIVE) and another one will be released at 10th later (SISTERITUAL). What I know is that both VNs have two heroines each, and both has specific setting with FUCKOMOTIVE has train and SISTERITUAL has shrine along with blood related sibling sex scenes (Well it's in the title). Lastly we finally have Frontwing announced the last volume of Phantom Trigger and they announced the exact release date in which it'll be at February 25th later, although we didn't have them announce that it'll be available in English though even though it's pretty obvious that they'll also release it in English simultaneously.
From fan translation we have both of Asahi and Ouka routes of Snow were finished with the translator will be focused on translating both of Meiko and Legend routes (For the info the latter is not really the name of the girl, but rather the name of the route itself), Eustia was at 93.86% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 67.35% TLC-ed, Chaos Head Noah was at 11.25% edited, Harugi was at 40% edited, 46 out of 138 script files of Nagomibako was edited, and Loverable was at 98.97% translated along with 98.64% edited. We also have Senmomo was at 18.85% edited with Chapter 2 was at 7.86% edited, and currently they're in need of a hacker. Lastly we have announcement from White Album 2 Discord that they'll release the patch in the upcoming weeks and very likely earlier before Christmas, and so we have 19 days of wait at most to finally have White Album 2 full translation patch here. That's all for the updates from fan translation section.
As for Sekai's updates, we have Akaneiro was at halfway translated, Amairo Chocolata was at 90% translated, Yumeiro was at 35% translated, and the secret project was fully edited along with them wait for the build. We also have them scheduling the release for Drapri 2 along with them finally started to work on Harukuru's engine with the current progress was at 20% (They still wait for the build though). They also finally has some updates on Tokeijikake, and that they finally have list the QA progress for both of Daybreak and Morning Mist (80% and 30% respectively) with the former was planned for the release at Q1 2022, which to say may be possible (As long as there's no additional bugs in Daybreak) seeing that they did announce that they'll release Rewrite at 17th later with the Harvest Festa release at later date (It's still at 20% edited for the info). Last but not the least, we have Amatsutsumi was in review by Valve which mean obviously it was already finished the QA along with the engine work, and hopefully the review progress can be going without much fuss so that we can have this released smoothly.
That's all for what I can say in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (07/09/2019)
Foreword - It's nice to see that we finally have VNTS after almost a year of absence, so of course I'll give a link to VNTS here (And no you didn't read it wrong there). Also thanks to Decay for mentioning my name at his musing, and as for Mahou Shoujo VN that Zakamutt mentioned it's too bad that apparently the translation project is stopped because of some apparent real life matter.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as you can see this week we swamped with 28 new announcements in which most of those are from AX, so let me comment on the announcements as well. As for my impression on the announcements, I guess it's kind of mixed seeing that there's some good announcement like Eiyuu Senki GOLD or Amatsutsumi and yet seeing the publisher behind it make me doubt about whether we can get those two quickly. At the same time we have Sol Press bring something interesting to the table, and for this year AX Mangagamer decided to bring some VNs that have a lot of passion. Overall my impression on this AX here is still quite average like back at the last year, but compared to back then it's slightly better because Sekai didn't pick any available fan translation project. Let's see what I can write for this week as well, and about the title I'll explain it in the PS.
We obviously didn't have any AX announcement from fan translation here, but of course they still have updates though. The most surprising one is Amagami in which they suddenly managed to edited halfway of the scripts (50.5% edited), and apparently they'd been busy since the last announcement so they only have the chance to update the progress now. I guess they doing good there because they finally find an editor, and hopefully they doing well until the release (The project is almost seven years there). For the rest of the update, we have Eustia was at 72.10% translated with Eustia's chapter was at 9.53% translated along with 46.78% TLC-ed, Watamasu was at 92% translated, and 4,403 lines from Pure x Connect are edited. Other than those updates, there's no other notable updates so that's all for this week fan translation.
JAST USA
From JAST we have three announcement including the aforementioned Eiyuu Senki GOLD, but before we're going to the announcements let's see what updates that they have because they gave us a lot of that. The first update from them was in regard of Majikoi in that they already open the pre-order for the physical edition, which obviously mean that the release time is getting closer and it'll be at this summer (Probably at August). The second was in regard of Katahane, in which they'll try to release it at autumn later (ie between September to November). While for now we can safely ignore those two seeing that both of those are already released and therefore redundant (Even with Katahane new opening), at least we also have both of Kimikoi and Flowers Autumn release will be possibly happen at the autumn as well (By the way it'll be very fitting if JAST managed to release Flowers Autumn at autumn as they promised). For the last update, we have Sumaga release at winter in which it's one of the most daring updates from them seeing that it's been eight years since it was translated (I just hope that they'll be able to do it if possible, and if not I guess we can wait more).
Almost forget that we have surprise release from them that was happen around AX, and those releases are Princess X fandisc and Mamono Musume in which both of those are nukige. While those two VNs are not my interest here, at least it's good that we have two more VNs was cleared from JAST's backlog. Speaking about Mamono Musume, turned out that JAST decided to announced another of that as well and this time it'll have slime and mollusc girl as the heroines (The released Mamono Musume did only have lamia heroine). As for Mamono Musume itself, actually it's a series of short nukige that have monster girls as the heroines, so you can expect a lot of sex with the monster girls (Duh). As far as series goes, currently we have six series with on of those already released and another just announced here, so there's still four more to be licensed if JAST want to localized all of Mamono Musume VNs. We also have Saya no Uta remaster announcement, although seeing that we already have it since back at 2009 let's just say that it's like both of Majikoi and Katahane (Redundant).
About Eiyuu Senki GOLD, before JAST announced it we have a fan translation group that already released the partial patch that translate some of the sex scenes. Of course seeing that JAST finally license it, he didn't have any other choice except to stop his project and wait for the release. What I can comment is that it would be logical for JAST to license GOLD seeing that they have the license for the original version, although whether they can release GOLD quickly or not is still questionable though (Let's just hope that they already have sizable translation progress when they announced GOLD here). As for GOLD itself while at the first glance it's retelling the original story, actually GOLD here is quite different in that instead of Himiko our MC Chihaya will interact with Masamune (New heroine for GOLD) first. More importantly we have some improvement in regard of the gameplay, in which Tenco did buff some of the heroines and add some new mechanic in the gameplay. Other than that, apparently Tenco will give the heroines some more interaction so if you felt the chance to talk with the heroines was quite lacking in the original than GOLD should fix the issue. I'll look forward to the eventual release of GOLD here.
For the last announcement from JAST here, we have Yamizome Revenger in which it's Escu:de VN. As we know, Escu:de did have partnership with Sekai in regard of ReLord trilogy localization so it should be logical if we expected that Denpasoft would announce Yamizome, and yet it turned out differently because we have JAST announced it. As for Yamizome itself you'll play as a high school student who was possessed by a demon king, and the goddess sent her best five heroines from the anther world. Of course naturally our MC would be worry about his future, and then the demon king convince the MC to take a chance to make the five heroines as his harem by corrupting them using the demon king power. Like ReLord we'll engage the gameplay to fight the heroine before corrupting them, and that we'll going to have some eccentric demon king although from the spoiler that I read I think he'll be like Himegari in that the demon king will influenced by the MC to a degree. I'll look forward to the eventual release of this seeing that it's rare to see light novel like fantasy setting in the VN, even though it bordered nukige seeing that the number of sex scenes is quite a lot.
Other
For this instance I'll make a new section for Sol Press seeing that there'll be a lot to talk about, but first let's see what this section have (Minus Sol Press). As for Aksys, I admit that I mixed it up with Spike Chunsoft because turned out that the company that always release sci fi VN is Spike Chunsoft, while as for Aksys here their product is mostly otome. Speaking about otome, almost all of Aksys announcements at AX were consist of that VNs, with some of those are already released and about to be ported to the Switch. So even if I show some interest into it, too bad that I still couldn't play it seeing that I still didn't have console yet. For the last announcement, instead of otome we have a horror VN (NG) in that it'll tell a story of an older brother who search a clue in regard on who or what is responsible for his disappeared sister, and that he'll teamed up with some morally questionable characters in order to get what he pursue. Other than that, NG is the second part of 'Spirit Hunter' series that also consist Death Mark that was released several months ago by Aksys.
With Robotic Notes and it's sequel announced by Spike Chunsoft, it mean that we only need Chaos Head to be localized in order to have complete Science Adventure legally available in English. As for Robotic Note and the sequel itself, it's a part of Science Adventure (Steins Gate, Chaos Head, and Chaos Child) in that at each series we'll have some main characters fight against cadres from a very mysterious organization (Committee 300) that committed several heinous crimes, and obviously Robotic Notes here is no exception. Another thing to note that it's obviously would contain sci-fi element, and in Robotic Note case we'll going to have the main characters build a robot while at the same time find a mysterious program that might be dangerous for the world. Almost forget to note that there'll be some cameo from Steins Gate, and they'll took important role for the story here. For the release plan, they'll release the first part at 2020 later and that it'll be including Steam version as well.
In the middle of KS, we also have Nekonyan decided to announced Aokana Extra1, in which it's Sprite last work before they going bankrupt. As for the premise, it's more or less just a fandisc for Mashiro in which it's obviously targeted toward Mashiro's fan. No info in regard of the release date as of now, but it's easy to guess that they'll release it adter they managed to release Aokana later. As for the KS itself, it's already being successful with currently they already reached the 4th stretch goal (At 60,000 euro) and currently they gather 64,708 euro. We also have a new announcement from Lemnisca, in that they announced a new doujin hardcore sci fi VN with the name Dei Gratia no Rahinban in which apparently will tell a story about several people who trapped at 700 meters under the sea. Still no idea on what kind of VN is that other than the people need to figure a way to be survive before succumbed to the hidden threat, although apparently the story itself is quite well-received. We don't know when Lemnisca will give more words about this again, but at least we know that Lemnisca will do KS for Dei Gratia here.
Sekai Project
As for the first Sekai announcements, I'll just grouped Glass along with New Glass and SF in the same paragraph because those three did share the same contents in that it did have animated picture and created by the same person. While the animated picture here is a plus seeing that it's doujin VN and all, I guess we can say that Glass here would be more famous because of the controversy in that the creator of Glass (Tetsuzo) sent a mail to the fan translator, and apparently he directly say some strong word (F*ck) and ask the translator to stop the project in a rude way. Also apparently Tetsuzo at first didn't approve the translation, so I guess he changed his mind now that we have Sekai license it (Or he just quit his company and the new staffs decided to sell the license to Sekai). Well in the end it wouldn't matter seeing that Sekai already get it, so Tetsuzo himself didn't need to worry about the fan translator anymore.
Other than Glass, we also have Nekogami in which I find the premise is quite confusing because we have a little sister who somehow become the catgirl was call her older brother as 'Nee-chan', and yet the older brother (The MC) himself is didn't look like woman at all. So you better not expect some trap MC from nekogami here. There's also Koiama 2 in which it's the sequel of Koiama, and now I look at it the atmosphere along with the girls did almost bear some resemblance with Gochiusa to a degree, although obviously we didn't have rabbit in Koiama there. There's also a first part of Seiiki trilogy in which it was owned by feng, and the first part will tell a story about a MC who somehow became the butler for her childhood female friend because of some misunderstanding. As for Seiiki series itself the format did resemble Loca Love very much, in which we'll going to have three separated chapters and each part will focused on one particular heroine. There's Nine episode 3 announcement as well, in which it's just released at this year and the art is still beautiful thanks to Tsubasu. About Nine episode 3 here, it's quite obvious to see that the next part will be the last part seeing that there's a lot of reveal in episode 3 here.
Before going to a certain announcement by Sekai, let me write some updates from them. First of all we'll have them do the KS for Rewrite+ for the hardcopy in which to be said was not surprising at all, and therefore I have no much to say here other than Rewrite license here is still redundant (Especially after knowing that there's no much change in the ending of Rewrite+ after compared it to the original one). The second update is in regard of Baldr Sky, in which apparently there's no word in regard of 18+ contents so we wouldn't know whether the release will be censored for now. For now I just leaned towards that the 18+ contents will be available, and hopefully there'll a word in regard of that after it passed Steam Review (They planned to release it at Q3/Q4 of this year). For Tokeijikake, well they somehow managed to have a lot of confidence that they'll be able to release it at this year seeing that they announced that they'll release the rest of the trilogy at this year, although seeing that Sekai have a hard time on the engine work it's hard to see here (I just hope that they'll be able to do it). For the last update, we'll going to have Majokoi release in the very near future (Hopefully along with Nanairo if possible).
For the certain announcement, it's Amatsutsumi in which it's Purple Software VN. While you may know that Purple Software did have partnership with Mangagamer, turned out that they'd really flexible when it come with contact here so we'll going to wait for Sekai if we want to read Amatsutsumi here. As for the VN itself, we'll going to have our MC Makoto who more or less want to know more about world and therefore decided to run away from his secluded village. Seeing that he still didn't have much stamina, he collapsed in a nearby village and rescued by a girl. Seeing that Makoto did have superpower and he didn't have house, he decided to use his power to alter the girl memory in order to live at the village. Another thing to note is that the art still quite good like usual Purple Software VNs, and that this VN structure is like both of G-Senjou and Eustia, in that we'll have ladder structure that allow us to either pick an alternative ending or keep going until the last route. I'll look forward to the eventual release of Amatsutsumi here.
Almost forget that we also have Sekai announced Bokukotsu FD along with Photonflower, although since those two more or less just fandiscs I didn't have much word to say here. Although at least Photonflower here might be good if you still want some Muv Luv, so perhaps you may take an interest to it. That's all for Sekai Project section here.
Mangagamer
This year AX was apparently make Mangagamer think that we need some VNs with High Sexual Contents (If not nukige), and therefore they decided to bring the announcements that fit that category to a degree. Also like some people expected turned out that they bring another Waffle title, in this case is Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 Gaiden. As for Kyonyuu Gaiden 2 itself, well Arunaru did localized the title as Sideboob 2 so I'll call it with that name from now on. For the premise itself, it's the continuation of first Sideboob in which it's also the continuation of first Funbag Fantasy. So what I can say is that apparently first Funbag MC is more popular compared to the second Funbag MC, seeing that it received more sequel here. While it would be good for the fans to see the continuation of first Funbag story, to me the breast is still too big so I'll just pass on this even though the plot might be quite good (The story obviously).
About Mangagamer announcement on Rance, what I can say is that I would prefer them to bring new announcement instead of that. Although if anything else, at least they bring the remake version instead of the older version. That said 02 is still redundant though seeing that we already have it released for a while (Even with Mangagamer using the new script), and story wise both of those are redundant. As for the premise itself, it should be obvious that our Rance here is a selfish guy who want to have sex with the woman, regardless on whether the woman like it or not. As for 01 itself, we'll going to have Rance took a case about mysteriously disappearing girl. While for 02 here, we have Rance rescue a city that was taken over by four witches. While the premise is less epic compared to VI (Or even 3), we can treat both of 01 and 02 as the introduction for some of recurring characters in Rance series. Almost forget that 01 here did change the gameplay a lot, so it might be interesting to play if you already gotten use with Rance 1 (Very outdated) battle system.
I think this is the first time I took my interest on a twisted (Almost) nukige, because the MC is female and that the writer is Izumi Banya who usually managed to write a good story in his nukige. As for the VN itself, the name is Mugen Renkan and as for the detail it tell a story on about a nameless woman (The MC) who cursed to have endless life was become a slave for a very cruel man with the name King. Of course things obviously will not kind to the woman, seeing that she suffer a lot of brutal rape (Apparently including amputation) before finally managed to run away. Although her suffering is still not ending though, seeing that the King obviously want her to back to his castle and therefore sent some cadres to bring back the woman by force. From there the woman did live on through three periods (Medieval French, Wild West, and Meiji era), while at the same time did her best to escape from King's cadres. Like euphoria here (Same writer) the contents of Mugen Renkan here is obviously not appropriate for 15 years old, so I hope that some 15 years old will not try this and being disturbed in the future.
Almost forget to mention that the three out of four Mangagamer's announcements here are the secret projects, and in this case 01 would be the 4th secret project (100% translated), Sideboob 2 is the 7th secret project (Fully translated and 92% edited), and Mugen Renkan is the 6th secret project (76% translated and 36% edited). As for 1st and 8th projects, maybe we'll know more at Otakon later. I hope that Mangagamer will have story VN to announce at Otakon later.
Sol Press
What I can say about Sol Press is that they quite bold with the updates, in that they announced the exact release date for their VNs in which some of those are quite questionable if I may say. For the detail we have Kimiaogi at August 16th, Onikiss at September 27th, Shitsuaru at October 27th, Nukitashi at November 22nd, Himawari no Kioku at February 2020, and Yotsunoha as soon as possible (Hopefully in less than a month). While I can see that they'll be able to release both of Kimiaogi and Onikiss on time, obviously it's hard to see whether they can release both of Shitsuaru and Nukitashi on time so hopefully Sol Press did have a plan for the latter two (Especially Nukitashi). As for the first announcement, it's Laplacian newest release in which it's logical seeing that Sol Press have contract with Laplacian. As for the premise, we have the MC who is an office worker have a housewife as his wife. To complicate matter, turned out that his wife is very easily got horny so obviously she would ask the MC for sex if she can. For now I don't have much to say here about the VN, other than it's very obvious that the VN is a nukige.
This time Sol Press bring a new partner here, and the partner in question is Windmill along with three of their VNs. The first one that they bring is quite surprising, in that they bring Witch's Garden which as we know is used to have two fan translation projects, and it's too bad that both of the projects were dead because of the translator real life matter or something like that. If anything, at least the first project did left a prologue patch in case you want to see it. As for the premise itself it's abut our MC Yousuke who come to an unique town in order to continue his school, and from there Yousuke start his carefree life together with some of his (Female) friends. Since the previous Witch's Garden projects are already dead, Sol Press here will using the new translation for this. Almost forget that Witch's Garden here also have e-mote feature, although I didn't care much abut it though. Like both of Eiyuu Senki GOLD and Amatsutsumi, I'll look forward to the release if only for the sake of Eri Sendai and 'passionate Hitomi Nabatame-voiced love-making' scenes people who've been looking forward to this since the first translation projects was established at 2013.
For the rest of Windmill announcements, there's Hyper Highspeed Genius (HHG) and Happiness 2 Sakura Celebration (I'll just call it Sakura Celebration, and obviously it's not a part of Winged Cloud's Sakura series). As for both of the VN, both of those did have magical settings although both of those did have contrasting MC here with HHG MC did have manipulative personality while Sakura Celebration MC here is more in line with usual kindhearted MC. For the premise, HHG here is more like we have an artifact that was rumored to be able to rule the world and that there's three school that was merged into one in order to do an election between gifted human so that the winner can take control of the artifact, and obviously our MC here need to be very crafty in order to win. While for Sakura Celebration, it's premise is more down to earth with our MC was coming back to his hometown when the town celebrate the long season of sakura. For more information here, the MC is a magician and apparently he'll attend a magic school in order to allow his skill to grow. No much word here other than it would be better to expect Windmill VNs as charage, just like Sankaime.
That's all for this week VNTS Review along with my AX commentary, and see you next week.
PS - For the title, seeing that recently I realized that Nine did have Atsuhi Abe as the MC and Satomi Arai as the mascot, I decided to do a parody for Toaru series because both of them were the casts in the anime adaptation. For the parody in this case it would be Index or to be exact the translated version (A Certain Magical Index), and I change 'Index' to 'Kyouko' because we have Amatsutsumi announcement. For more info, Amatsutsumi did have the setting that some people did have superpower and seeing that there's no scientific setting the source of power is most likely magic. While for Kyouko, it's the name of one of Amatsutsumi's heroine and that she have superpower.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have pseudo AX at this week (Because the real AX was cancelled thanks to the pandemic) I can obviously say that we'll have quite a number of announcements. Of course the number is understandably less than normal AX, but I can still say that I manage to have took my interest on some of the announcements. Other than the announcements, we also have a lot of updates from Sekai and Mangagmer especially in regard of the reveal of their secret projects. Overall this week is quite an exciting one, and let's see what I can write for this week as well.
First of all we have Sol Press update, in that unfortunately it's not their new announcements at this time like back at last year. But instead they report that the translator of Himawari no Kioku was suddenly leaving so that the project is delayed (Whatever, and that's why they should make sure that it's finished before announcing the release timeline), Nukitashi was turned out only at 22% edited because of some re-calculation, and Sakura Celebration was fully translated along with 61.5% edited. From fan translation, we have Alka planned Miagete FD release at 16th later with sex scenes in which Pulltop certainly wouldn't translate it if they license Miagete FD. In any case, I hope that they can work on sex scenes restoration at original Miagete sooner or later. For the rest of the updates, we have Miotsukushi Ura was at 60% translated, Taimanin Yukikaze 2 was at 80% translated, 7,160 lines of Pure x Connect are edited, Eustia was at 90.86% translated with side routes was at 40.71% translated, and Loverable was at 87.58% edited. Lastly we have Humbling Holy Maiden from Love Lab was at 60% translated.
Mangagamer
Mangagamer did reveal two of their secret projects and then they gained two more secret projects, so overall the number of the secret projects is still the same. As for the revealed secret project, one of those are Jeanne and the Clock Tower aka 2nd secret project in that it's one of Liar-soft VN. The art is quite different from usual Liar-soft style, but at least the typical plot of them still remain in that one of World War 2 soldier was somehow stranded into alternative timeline of French Revolution (Or that's what I understand). In any case, I don't know on how good Jeanne is but perhaps I may know later if we have it being finally released. Since this is their 2nd secret project, it mean that there's already a lot of progress and in this case it's already finished the translating processes (Translating and editing) and currently doing the image editing. As for their other project, it's Steam Prison Fin's route aka 5th secret project in which it's the patch that will add the PSV exclusive route into PC version. Not quite interesting to me, but at least you can date one more hero in Steam Prison later. As for the progress, it's been already finished the translated process.
As for the rest of the updates, we have the 3rd secret project was fully translated along with 91% edited, 6th secret project was at 60% translated along with 55% edited, 7th secret project was at 70% translated along with 66% edited, Musicus was at 94% translated along with 92% edited (Looks like they really aim to release this in English at this year), Sona-Nyl's Refrain was past halfway (56%) translated, and Rance Quest was in testing (So perhaps it mean that it's almost ready for the release). Lastly we have another exact release date announcement from Mangagamer, and in this case it's Room No.9 with the release date at August 6th later.
Sekai Project
We have a bunch of the updates from them, and some of those can be summarized as that they'll try to release the works at this year. Some of those VNs that they'll try to release at this year are Island Diary (At Winter later), Harumade Kururu, Koiama 2, Bokukotsu FD, and Nekopara 4 (At November). While I'm surely would like them to fulfill their promise later (Especially in regard of Harumade Kururu), I'm kind of wary with Sekai here so I'll guess that I'll just not going to expect them to release those VNs at this year. Before going to the announcement, let me try to do some roundup first. For the roundup, we have Kimagure was at 45% translated, Bokukotsu FD was in QA, Koiama 2 was have the translation and editing in progress, and that they'll upgrade (Redundant) Hoshimemo into HD version. For the announcement, we have Slobbish Dragon Princess (aka Sekai 3rd secret project) in which apparently they aim for the simultaneous release at October 30th later with the progress was at 80% translated. No much comment other than it's new Whirlpool VN, and that the MC will have the dragon girl harem.
Since we have Nine Episode 4 was released back at April in Japan and that Sekai did have the license for overseas release, it's only logical that they'll announce Nine Episode 4 sooner or later. And turned out that they just announce this after they dubbed it as their 4th secret project, with sizable progress was at 30% translated. Seeing that Episode 4 here is the grand finale of Nine, I understand that they may need some more time to translate this. In any case, for now I'll hope that Sekai will be able to release this at 2021 along with Episode 3 (Currently was past halfway (52%) translated along with 44% edited) later. As for the question why Palette released Nine in episodic, I think the answer is that so the writer can build the world and the setting bit by bit, and it's very important seeing that it might be possible that the writer still didn't have the full concept of the story at the beginning (Back when he wrote Nine Episode 1 obviously). I'll look forward to this, if only for Tsubasu's arts.
Other
We also have age give us the updates as well, in which one of those are the release date for Photonmelodies that will be released at 30th later. Other than Photonmelodies, we also have Muv-Luv Unlimited - The Day After in which it's basically compiled four Muv-Luv Alternative Chronicle into one releases, and as for the release date the plan was to release it at this year. While those two announcements surely would give us more Muv Luv world building, personally I just see those as fandiscs and that first half part of Day After is basically redundant because we already have first and second Alternative Chronicle are already translated (And that Alternative itself is conclusive enough). If anything else, at least Muv Luv fans would be happy with the announcements.
For the last announcement, since the VN is a nukige I'll just ignore this. Or that's what I would say if the nukige name is not Venus Blood Hypno (Localized as Venus Blood Hollow) in that I've been quite interested with it. As for the premise itself, we'll going to have our MC who basically tried to took revenge by corrupting the heroines one by one together with his loyal subordinates and from what I understand apparently the story would be quite dark even for Venus Blood standard. Another Venus Blood staple would obviously will be present here, and it's the tentacle for the reminder. From what I see at Youtube video, the gameplay was apparently the improved version of Frontier which is good to me seeing that I like the gameplay back at Frontier. Like back at Frontier, Ninetail would work together with JAST in order to work on this VN and that they'll do the Kickstarter again. As for when they'll do it, it'll be at autumn although still no exact month (They estimated that they'll do it at either September or October later). In any case, I'll keep my eyes on the KS later and I'll look forward to the eventual release of Hypno here.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - For the title, since we have Nine Episode 4 announcement and that Kakeru's VA is also Index's Touma's VA (Atsuhi Abe), I decided to parodied the spinoff of Index 'A Certain Scientific Railgun'. I also change 'Railgun' into 'Eleanore', simply because Eleanore is the name of one of five woman that you'll corrupt in Hypno and that Eleanore herself is a typical scientist.
Visual Novel Translation Status (10/15/2016)
For this week title, I kind of confused but I decided that I use Kisaragi no Hougyoku as the inspiration for the title. I'll explain the reason for the title in PS here (Or maybe PPS).
This week was quite calm after Mangagamer did crazy update from last week (And they will next week), although this week we also had many small VN releases there. One of those were Kisaragi, which quite mediocre looking from VNDB score and the graphic was not my taste here (Although some people might like that kind of graphic). Another one was Creampie Heaven by Mangagamer, which as you guess it was nukige involving maid with big bust size. As for one more missing progress, it was Catch Canvas which was created by the developer of No One But You and the premise was you as the artist who somehow becoming the art teacher for three girls whose unmotivated to finish their art work. Overall, the releases for this week not that impressive imo.
Other
As for the update here, first of all once again Libra release was pushed back to March 2017 because of the progress was still far from ideal if we expect November release. Although there's another update from them though. Namely Calen's bonus route was finished translated while Aoi's route still 15% translated though. Fruitback Factory also had some update for this week. For the first update, Enigma was finishing both of translation and editing progress, and the coding was already started. The second update here was Miniature Garden was 15% translated.
By the way, this week we also had successful Indie Go Go funding in regard of Corona Blossom Volume 2, which managed to gathered almost 40,000 out of 10,000 as the goal. Once again this crowdfunding goal was to funding the hardcopy, so the goal was very low there. Although the goal was very low, it's still successful compared to Volume 1 albeit a little bit looking from the fund gathered (Around 36,000 for Volume 1 iirc). As for the release, Frontwing will release Steam version this month and they planned to release the hardcopy at December later.
Sekai Project
Once again, if we looking at of how Libra need to delay the release because of the progress here, we could said that Chrono Clock will also suffer delay if we talk about the release at January (It was 40% translated, which is far from ideal if we expect January release). Oh well, not much we could do if it will happen like that in the future. Other than Chrono Clock here, Maitetsu here had nice progress which right now it was at 42.13% translated. Tenshin Rahman, right now it was at 59.99% translated although I could just said 60% translated though if I were Sekai (Well, whatever their choice). Princess Knight Chapter 2 was at 53.04% translated. Oh, almost forgot that Chapter 1 was finally released after delayed several times there. Bokukotsu there finally re ach 10% translated mark there (10.05% translated). And Wagahigh still had some progress, although it was very slow (73.70% translated).
Memory Dogma was finally had Steam Store page, implying that the time for release was near. Once again it was quite interesting if we looking from the opening video and seiyuu alone. Too bad that it's only one chapter though, and I could guess it'll be take very long time for Memory Dogma Volume 2 looking from the seiyuu and the graphic imo. As for Nashville, they finally got the Greenlight for the Steam which mean they'll had release on Steam later.
Finally, this week Sekai also had official site for Japanese School Life. The premise to be honest just like Go Go Nippon there, except they also add Comic Market. For more info the writer for this VN also the writer for Hanasaki Work Spring and one route from Hoshiori. The cast here was quite interesting, and the reason I said this because one of the seiyuu there (The game only had two seiyuu by the way) was Risa Taneda which if I may said one of uprising seiyuu there, although right now she was on hiatus because of her sickness. Oh, and another seiyuu there was Arisugawa Miyabi although she was using her real name though (I'd more like to use her alias by the way).
Fan Translation
This week we had one established project there, but beforehand let me try to doing some roundup for the regular progress. Right now, we had Tsui Yuri at 90% translated and 6% QC-ed; Bishoujo Mangekyou 90% edited, 85%QC-ed, and 42% proofread; Majokoi finally reach halfway mark translated (50.4% translated), 35.7% edited, and 17.6% TLC-ed (Good progress there); and Loverable was 19.27% translated, and the TLC was regressing to 3.16% (There was the reason behind the regression though namely they decided to also translated append material which increased script count to 31,000 lines).
About established project, it was another Bishoujo Mangekyou which apparently some sort of franchise there and this time it was tell the story about love in hot spring inn. The love there was obviously expressed by mostly sex, looking from original Bishoujo Mangekyou which categorized as nukige. As for the name, although Arcadeotic had good name for localization there (It was 'Kaleidoscope Beauty: You were the Girl (I Knew) Back Then' for anyone else who wonder) I think I'll just go with Bishoujo Mangekyou 2.5 for simplicity sake there. Oh, and for the progress it was 40% translated and 30% TLC-ed right now. I'll keep my eyes on this project here.
Lastly for Fan Translation segment, we had another progress for the VN which quite rare to do the update there. It was propeller VN, and the name was Sukimazakura to Uso no Machi or to be shortened as Sukima (I prefer Sukiuso for the abbreviation there, but I'll just call Sukima later here). It was rara propeller VN which focused on drama instead of chuuni like usual. And for the premise it was like there's a town which only liar could enter there, so naturally there's something hidden at the start of the game between the character. Oh, this VN was already had some sort of fake Greenlight at Steam earlier there and it was already almost one year since the translation begin. For the progress it was 37.5% translated, also with one route fully translated there for more detail.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - From Konosora retranslation project, Ageha route was fully translated and started the editing progress.
PPS - As for the title, since Kisaragi mean February and Hougyoku mean jewel, I figured that because I remember that each month had some kind of birthstones (Could also called jewel), so I decided to use the birthstone for February as the title. The birthstone for February was amethyst, and since in the past people used it to prevent intoxication I decided to use 'A Charm Against Intoxication' for the title (Charm also mean some object to ward off something evil, and this time the evil was intoxication).
Visual Novel Translation Status (02/06/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and if I can say something this week is quite plain, although we can say it's the breather after the releases in the past weeks. That said, at least this week has some exact release date announcements though along with a surprise new fan translation project. As for the title, because we have Cupid Parasite FD along with Chiisana Kanojo sizeable updates, I made the parody of the latter English title, A Maiden's Serenade, with I changed 'Maiden's' into 'Cupid's' so we have 'A Cupid's Serenade'. Anyway, let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
Idea Factory did release Cupid Parasite FD, and it's obviously for Switch only. Feel free to get the VN if you want to play more Cupid Parasite and had Switch, and have fun. Speaking of Switch, Aksys announced the exact release date for Ihanashi no Majo, and said date is August 22nd later. Note that the release date is only for console version (ie PS5 and Switch version) of it, so you need to wait for a while if you want to play the Steam version of it. Speaking of Steam, Shiravune announce the exact release date for their aunt nukige that has it's build was rejected by Steam, and said date is 14th later so feel free to note the date if you want to play aunt nukige that has NTR element.
I knew there's a plan to localized both of Dokyuusei 2 and Yakin Byouto Remakes, which most likely will be assigned to Shiravune, because the developer of the remake is from the same group as Shiravune. That said, I still wait and see about the plan of the remakes until the companies (Either the publisher or the developer) have the words about it.
From fan translation, this week we have Chusingura is at 45.66% translated with Chapter 2 is past 90% mark (91.80%) translated, Majikoi Ryouken After is fully translated, Taima Seiko Alice is at 55% translated, Akagoei FD is at 85.06% in QA, Akagoei 3 is past three quarter (75.06%) edited along with 10.37% in QA, and Shin Koihime Musou is at 72% edited. Lastly, we have Shinzou Translation announced their new project, Karenai Saku no Owari Hana, which is definitely bigger than their usual projects. Said VN is also the first VN from Sweet & Tea with two of their VNs, Kemono Musume and Mr. Sister, are localized by Sekai. For the premise, it's about our MC who came to the small town saw a girl, Haru, has the power to turn human into flower. For the progress, it's currently at 2% translated.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.

Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have the updates from Mangagamer in regard of Raillore and Luckydog I decided to make a parody of a famous novel from 1872, A Dog of Flanders, by changed 'Flanders' into 'Raillore' so we have 'A Dog of Raillore' as the title. This week we have Mangagamer's update along with some fan translation project and also some new title announcements, although to me the main interest is only in the updates, so this week is ended up to be a bit plain one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well.
For Raillore's update, unfortunately it's not a pleasant one with said update in regard of its banning from Steam for some unknown reasons, which obviously put the snag into Mangagamer's plan to release it. Then again, there may be some CG that shows a lot of skin in the build and we know the reviewer could probably ban the VN based on that reasons if Holy Undead ban is any indication. Let's just hope Mangagamer find a way to release it. For the other updates, we have Luckydog finally in testing process, both Sleepless VNs are fully translated and edited, Funbag Fantasy 4 is now fully translated along with 95% edited, and Rance X finally show some editing major progress with it now at 24% edited. We also have Hakuouki SSL will be released in this year with it only available on Switch. From what I see, SSL is the alternative universe that had the casts attend the school in modern era, while the original Hakuouki itself is about a girl who time slipped into the past (1850's).
JAST Blue did announce the new title, and it's obviously another BL VN with they announced Paradise Musubi with it being the fandisc of Paradise that had the after stories for the heroes. In case you want another VTuber VN, we have Entergram was about to release the VN with the main heroine is the VTuber Nekomata Okayu, Okayu Nyumu, and you can wait until August 7th later if you want to get it. Forgot to mention that we already have the exact release date for Putrika for some times, and said date is May 20th later so let's see if the publisher can release it at that date later. We also have fan translation updates, and one of those is in regard of the original Tsui no Sora with it already finished the editing and porting work leaving the translation team now working on the finalization before the release. Lastly, we have the updates from Shinzou, and for the updates we have Sousaku Kanojo is at 41% edited and Dekinai is at 86% translated along with 3% edited.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Sorry for the belated review here, and yeah I'm quite surprised that we managed to have Daitoshokan full patch leaked just like Yoake. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I parodied Daitoshokan alias (A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd) by changing 'Librarian' into 'Magical Girl' because we also have magical girl nukige release as well. Another reason is that because there's a seiyuu joke in here, and I'll tell it in PS seeing that it's a spoiler. Other than Daitoshokan which is the biggest release, we also have Tokyo Chronos that was released by Sekai after they managed to funding it through Kickstarter. As for this week, if not for Daitoshokan sudden release I would say that it would be another dry week thanks to the smaller releases, but thanks to Daitoshokan it's getting more interesting here although the updates still didn't much though (ie no Mangagamer updates). Anyway, let's see what I can write for this VNTS as well.
As for the releases other than Daitosho, first of all we have Inugami in which it's a nukige with the premise that the MC did going to live in an island together with the martial art god who turned out to be female (Should be goddess) in order to train, and at the same time have the sex with the goddess. While it's not the most interesting VN out there, you can get it from Steam (Because it didn't have high school setting maybe?) if you getting interested with that and have fun. Other release to note is Gedou Mahou Shoujo Rinne in which it's aforementioned magical girl nukige here, and it's quite unique seeing that we have villainous MC who is a girl (Rinne, which is the title girl) that was jealous with her classmate (Hijiri) and want to beat the classmate after she got the magical girl power (And get corrupted). Also coincidentally Hijiri is the magical girl so Hijiri will obviously try to stop Rinne here, although it wouldn't be easy though seeing that Rinne will using all of her power to beat Hijiri. While this is still a nukige, at least it's still nice to see if you want to play magical girl nukige here in which it's surprisingly rare to see one got translated, so go get that if you interested with it and have fun.
We also have Sekai did release Tokyo Chronos, in which it did got Kicstarted back at August 2018 with the base goal at 75,000. While the premise looks promising with the Virtual Reality world and that one of the staff did involved in Sword Art Online anime as the producer (The romance is as romantic as Twilight for some people by the way), I didn't quite interested with this seeing that there's no much info on this. But still since the VN did have interesting premise with survival and mystery theme, some people should find this quite appealing so if you want you can try Tokyo Chronos there and have fun (At least it got two famous seiyuu (Romi Park and Yuki Kaji) if you interested with that). We also have Sekai finally managed to have G-Senjou 18+ version did enter the QA, which to say was very late seeing that we already got it translated by TL Wiki since back at 2010 despite of the mosaic (Not very important to me here). There's Nekonin 2 Plus in which apparently Whirpool did add the additional sex scenes based on consumer wishes so good for them I think, and currently it's already fully translated and edited so it should be released in near future.
For fan translation, we have Moususgu Natsuyasmi patch release in which apparently have shota MC did have sex with his friends that more or less are at the same age as him. Whether you find this acceptable or not is up to each of their own seeing that it's a loli VN, but if you find it interesting you may try that later and have fun even though the graphich is quite old (It's from 2006). We also have Eustia was at 64.45% translated along with 49.50% edited, Shin Koihime Musou was finally at 29% edited, Relaxation Yuka was at 76.42% translated, Watamasu was at 72% translated, Loverable was at 62.27% edited, and Hoshiori's overall was at 97.42% translated with Natsuki's route was at 80.42% translated.
For the last week biggest release, it's obviously Daitoshokan in which it's been released back at Saturday by one of the editor leaked the complete patch in Reddit. As for the project history, it's been in work since back at 2014 before the leader seemingly vanished after gave the last update back at October 2016. Of course by now people would already give up on this to be released, and yeah we have surprise release on this in which it's a good surprise here. With this it mean that finally August's curse is broken again, after Yoake (Leaked by same person at Reddit) and Daitoshokan side story release (I didn't have any problem on the side story release anymore seeing that we have the main game translated). As for the premise, it's in regard of the MC Kakei who have power of precognition saving a girl (Tsugumi) in a weird way (Touching Tsugumi's boob) and then Tsugumi did invite Kakei to join her project to make the school happy, while at the same time both of them investigate Shepherd rumor because both of them did received the messages from Shepherd. Also Daitoshokan here is better than Yoake, simply because it did have the sex scenes lol. Have fun with Daitoshokan there.
That's all for this week, and see you next week.
PS - For the seiyuu joke in regard of the title, it's because we have Kirihana here voicing a character at Daitoshokan.
Visual Novel Translation Status (06/10/2017)
First of all, sorry for this week title which is very simple. It should be obvious what's my title mean, a gunwoman (Rena from Phantom Trigger) hugging Haruto who is also her handler (Same age as Rena too). Well, welcome to this week VNTS Review which to tell the truth didn't had any notable release here after Dies Irae, although we still get updates though. And since right now we had Phantom Trigger head image, might as well tell that it was confirmed that the English version for the Volume 3 of it (Will telling us of Touka's dark backstory) would be out at July 28th which is the same release date as Japanese version. Before going to updates here, let me tell that right now Hoshimemo Kickstarter managed to gathered funds at 63,330.
As for this updates here, so far this week wasn't a lot here although of course there should be some updates that might be interesting for some people. So let's see what updates that we had for this week, starting from Mangagamer because right now they bring some updates here. For the updates here, we had Hapymaher was reaching 80% translated and past three quarter (76%) edited for the first one. Next we had Hashihime at 62% translated and 10% edited, Naked Butler was fully retranslated and 67% edited, Sideboob was at 94% translated, Imopara 2 was at 80% edited, Kuroinu Chapter 2 was fully edited, Maggot Bait was at 37% translated, Fata Morgana fandisc was at 69% translated and 44% edited, Boukaku was about to entering beta testing, and Sorcery Joker was fully translated.
As for the secret projects, the 2nd was at 78% translated and 52% edited, the 3rd was at 60% translated and 58% edited, and the 4th was at 89% edited. By the way, I still think that all the remaining four secret projecys might be nukige although perhaps I might be wrong there. Oh, Mangagamer will released Rance VI hardcopy at July 7th so if you inyerested with that go ahead and order it. That's all for Mangagamer updates at this week.
For fan translation, once again we still had some usual updates here although of course it's still good that we had updates here. For the updates we had Eustia was at 15.62% translated with some progress at Fione's arc and 8.71% TLC-ed. There's also Loverable in which they had their own chart who gives update at every hour, and for the updates here we had Loverable was at 72.57% translated, 20.2% edited, and 43.27% TLC-ed. As for Majokoi, there's some very slight updates in translation progress (86.9% translated) although perhaps we need to wait dor a while here if one want to look some real number. Oh, and right now Koiken Otome fandisc was at 6% (Or 1,563 lines to be precise) translated.
Other than those updates there's also Sukiuso which give the first update after a while (43.2% translated), Clover Days Anzu's route was at 63% translated, and Sayooshi in which that it did already has some update for a while although I keep forgetting it (It was at 42.2% translated). Speaking about my forgotten projects, actually there's two although it's just nukige though which to said not my priority to keep the eyes on it. The projects were Sansha Mendan which was translated by our Quof with the progress was at 69.16% translated and 67% edited, and Venus Blood Chimera which also incorporate some gameplay and was released the 2nd partial patch just recently (The progress was at 35% translated by the way). Perhaps I'll keep my eyes on those two nukige from now on.
For last updates from fan translation here, there's a surprisingly early updates from Tsurezure in regard of Tsujidou in which right now they managed to fully translated the first part of common route (The overall progress was at 13.05% translated). While this is a good news indeed, there's also some bad news that namely Trip (The translator) will be busy so he wouldn't be able to translate until 18th so maybe there'll be no update for Tsujidou at next week. But we also had a good news there namely that Tsurezure will release the partial patch that'll be translated the first part of common route, and they'll try to release it before 18th so there'll be something to look forward if you like Tsujidou (Although I would like to just wait and see here as usual).
I think that's all for this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/23/2016)
Well, sorry for cliche title this week, but it's quite confusing to made the title from 4 release this week and I'd find it hard to find fitting title if I tried to combine 2 releases. So, I'd decided to take one title (In this case Narcissu), using hanakatoba (Flower language) from iris (It was Narcissu title), and I'd decided to use 'A Little Good News' as review title this week. Oh, hanakatoba from iris mean good news which figured kinda fitting for this week release, and for the little you should knew why. Oh, about hate mail to Tay, my opinion that you should ignore them since I think it was your right to cover otome game even though I didn't wait for otome game release though. For ChuSingura, I think at this time it's sound fishy so it was not included there, although congratulations for gathering 5,000 at this time I guess.
Anyway, here's another week for my VNTS commentary. As for the release, the most good news to me was definitely not Vega, the otome games, or the title inspiration itself. In fact, actually it was the third picture in VNTS Header Image. Although you may already knew, I'll give commentary below. Anyway, other than the good news itself and some from fan translation one, there's not much interesting news though, although Mangagamer will release the first translated Drama CD though by using the subbed video as the mean to understand the Drama CD. But for more interesting news from Mangagamer we must wait for another week.
Sekai Project
Okay, first Sekai managed to release Narcissu side episode, which the tile was 'A Little Iris'. As for translation progress, now KARAKARA was fully translated, Maitetsu was at 10.14%, and WEE was at 58.31%. I think with this kind of progress KARAKARA would be only short title, judging from the budget and the speed of translating, although once again don't underestimate the short VN. As for WEE, it's good for WEE fans because I'd heard that the 2nd game was ended in cliffhanger. Other than that, I think not much comment needed from Sekai segment.
One last note, I just want to get Root Double status now. Although with our Decay already got his review copy, it should be not that long I guess.
Fan Translation
While the good news wasn't came from this section, this section actually had the most interesting progress as of this week. First, as usual Astral Air progress was stable and congratulations for reaching three quarter of the translation progress (Or to be exact the progress was at 75.20%). As for Ren's Aokana project, well let's see what kind of news that he'll bring this Monday, although I'm not surprised that the 2nd translation group was not be able to deliver translation patch itself, and the leader had to blame us to boot for his failure (Well, normally the people should be either not promising something ridiculous, or just work on it even if some people not supporting you).
Bishoujo Mangekyou, let's said that the progress at this time was 59.75% (Actually 4 of 8 scripts fully translated and the 5th script was at 78% translation). For ToHeart 2, at this time it was 70% editied according to ittaku, and he was planning to release another beta patch at this week. For @Dergonu project, looks like you got one very good candidate for your TLC. Just ask him if you had doubt about his capability ie see his Youtube channel. Oh, another new project was established today, and it was Nijima Yuu project after he was out from Saga Planet. Check the project page here, and good luck @Hasa. Hopefully if this successful this will be the first Nijima Yuu work translated, because back there NatsuNagi translation was scam and troll project (Probably they made wordpress page after they drink 5,000 gallons of beer. Sorry, but I waited for this and only to find that it was false hope), and HatsuSaku was stalled (Probably because of real life thing) while the last progress recorded was at 19% iirc.
JAST USA
This time I'll give JAST USA a section, because this week actually the good news itself came from this. Okay, as for the round up progress, Flower was at 25% reediting from the bad translation, Schatten was 94% translated, Sonicomi was debugging, and Sweet Home was at 100% translated. For my comment about this, Sweet Home was 2007 production nukige, Schatten was another VN that the heroine had similarity as Saber from Fate franchise after Princess Waltz, and Flower was like first attempt that Innocent Gray made to step into all age, less gory and girls love VN. Honestly, other than Flower (Which actually still first part, so not excited so much) there's not much that I look forward from JAST translation progress.
Finally, this is actually the good news. And as we knew Seinarukana was finally released this week. If we knew the history about VN Translation, Seinarukana here was definitely full of it. It was actually stated to be released back at 2012 in VNDB, only to be cancelled. It also had some drama, like 2 translators was gone missing and TL Wiki page for Seinarukana was abandoned back in 2013. Okay, maybe I'll tell the full story in Seinarukana thread later. But either way for the player who already got this, happy playing.
That's all for my VNTS Review this week. Sorry if I miss some of the update here.
In 2022, the pandemic was starting to subside, so after two years of absence, we finally had conventions with several new VNs translation announcements. Of course, we still have translated VN releases, so I'll list the best-rated translated VNs in 2022. Once again, I may be subjective, so I'm sorry if some of your favorite VNs are not here, and feel free to disagree with my choice. Anyway, let's see the best translated VNs in 2022 that I chose here, and of course, the rank and the score can change in the future. For the scores, I'll use today's (June 2nd, 2025) scores for each VN.
10. Evenicle 2 (VNDB 7.35)
There's a drama behind the Evenicle 2 release because of the censorship on the trial version that removes the first sex scene. The censorship is not much help to add this on Steam anyway, thanks to a random ban from Valve. For the game, I thought it was an unnecessary sequel at first. However, after I played the trial, I found myself liking this. Of course, most people would understandably see this as inferior compared to the prequel, especially with no changes in the gameplay besides the healing system and skill gain, which are not much better than the prequel. For the premise, Alex, an apprentice doctor in a world with a deadly pandemic, heard the news of a beautiful girl getting sick. Because he's as pervert as Aster (the prequel MC), Alex starts to examine the patient, which leads him to discover that he can cure the beautiful female patient through sexual intercourse thanks to his hidden ability (I'm not making up the premise). After seeing the effect of the treatment, Alex concluded that his ability might be the key to eradicating the pandemic. Then he went to get his doctor's license, and while on the trip, he found himself treating several more beautiful female patients.
9. Ouchi ni Kaeru made ga Mashimaro Desu (VNDB 7.41)
After Shiravune localized both Primal Hearts and Study Steady, they went to localized one more VN from Marmalade, Mashimaro (localized as Marshmallow All the Way Home), so currently, we have four VNs from Marmalade (including Primal Hearts 2) translated by Shiravune. In Mashimaro, our MC, Ryou, becomes homeless after being chased out of his former house and forced to sleep in the park. One day, he met with a friendly, beautiful girl who fed him sweets and then introduced herself as Kanon. Being grateful, Ryou followed Kanon to her bakery, Marshmallow Tree, which was almost out of business because of a change in the opening hour and the arrival of a famous competitor nearby. As the responsible person, Ryou returned the favor by helping Kanon revitalize Marshmallow Tree by working as a part-timer there. It turned out that he was pretty competent, so he managed to make Marshmallow Tree successful quickly. Even though Kanon is the apparent main heroine (as shown in the beginning), Ryou can date another girl besides her. While Mashimaro here has a sweet and lighthearted story, it also has several lengthy sex scenes in the heroine's routes.
8. Otome * Domain (VNDB 7.43)
Shiravune manages to localize the Otome Domain, in that it's one of the known trap VN besides Otoboku and Tsuki no Yorisou. By the way, I added this based on my interest in the VN with trap MC. While the VNDB lists the connection with Boku to Koi Suru Ponkotsu Akuma (Koikuma), it's only for the trial version. But, since the heroines are the same as in Koikuma for being useless, we may call this Koikuma with the young ladies. In Otome Domain, we have the MC, Minato, who recently lost his grandmother, leaving him alone. At the funeral, a young lady, Kazari, offers Minato to take care of his needs. Said offer included enrolling Minato into the school that Kazari runs as the board chairwoman. However, Minato must cross-dress as a girl since the school is an all-girls school, and he manages to look as good as a girl, much to his dismay. After coming into the school, Minato finds out that Kazari has some quirk that makes her useless, and his dormmates also have some quirks that make them problematic. Having no choice, Minato decides to take care of their problem, which makes him ironically more feminine than the girls who enrolled in the school.
7. Cafe Stella to Shinigami no Chou (VNDB 7.54)
Yuzusoft finally decided to make a VN revolve around a cafe after featuring it several times in their previous VNs with Cafe Stella. When Cafe Stella was about to be released in Japan, Yuzusoft provided several 4-Koma videos featuring each heroine (including the side one). Said videos have English captions, which should indicate that Cafe Stella will be localized. Sure enough, Nekonyan announced they'd localize Cafe Stella in 2020 before finally releasing it in March 2022 as the 5th officially translated Yuzusoft VN (which includes Parquet, even though it is just the experimental work). For the premise, we have our MC Kousei encounter a cute grim reaper, Kanna, after he somehow turned back into the past because of an accident that supposedly killed him, and Kanna tells Kousei that he's still not free from his grim fate yet. So Kousei decided to accept Kanna's offer to help her, as he had worked with Kanna to open the titular Cafe Stella. The story of Cafe Stella combines the supernatural (Kanna and her grim reaper work) and slice-of-life (obviously the cafe). Lastly, I can say that the waitress uniform looks nice, with the color scheme resembling the waitress uniform in Blend S.
6. Hello Lady (VNDB 7.55)
I admit that my initial interest in Hello Lady was because of the VAs, of which two, Eri Sendai and Yamamura Hibiku, were voicing Precure. Even without looking at those VAs, the VN is already well known. Many people wish to have this VN translated, although no company was willing to get the license until Nekonyan announced this in 2018. Afterward, it took more than 40 months before the release because the developer, Akatsuki Works, needed time to develop the engine for the complete edition (which includes the FD and an additional ending from the PSV version). After a long wait, we have Hello Lady release in January 2022. For the premise, we have Narita, who has been invited to The Academy as a transfer student by the chairman, rescue the kidnapped student council president Saku while also deciding to be daring by grabbing Saku's breast. Of course, Saku was furious about that, especially with Narita joining the council. While initially Narita is presented as a breast lover, actually Narita himself has come to the school with his hidden goal in mind, and he may find himself finding out that there's something more regarding his said goal.
5. Amatsutsumi (VNDB 7.80)
For some reason, Valve banned Amatsutsumi on Steam, thus making Sekai need to delay the release for a while before finally releasing it on the other platforms. While we can think of several reasons why Valve banned this, such as high school settings and the MC (Makoto) having sex with more than one girl, only Valve can answer that. In Amatsutsumi, we have Makoto, who lives in an isolated village and is already engaged. He wanted to set the journey to see the outside world because of his intense longing, so he started to do so. But then, he collapsed in the nearby town because he didn't prepare enough before leaving the village. After being saved by a passerby, Kokoro, Makoto uses his power to brainwash Kokoro through a word to make her think of Makoto as Kokoro's older brother. Then, Makoto decided to live with Kokoro's family as the first step to living as a regular human instead of someone with superpowers. Some days after, Makoto encounters a girl, Hotaru, who is immune to his power. After talking with Hotaru, Makoto promises to help the other by using his power. He will do so with all the heroines, who each have their circumstances.
4. Chaos Head Noah (VNDB 7.88)
Technically, this is a redundant release because we already have the Chaos Head translation patch from 2009, and Noah is mostly the same. That said, the developer added some new content, such as routes and a new opening, so we can consider it a new release despite several problems with the English releases, such as the ban by Valve before it got revoked and a high number of bugs. This release is significant as Noah is the very first VN of the Science Adventure series, and with this, now we have all translated Science Adventure VN available on Steam. For the premise, we have our loser MC Nishijou Takumi, an otaku who rarely leaves his room on the rooftop except to go to school occasionally. One day, he heard a rumor that a serial murder had happened around his premises in Shibuya. Since Nitroplus developed the original Chaos Head, the murders were very disturbing. After somehow stumbling upon one of the serial murder sites, Takumi encounters a cute girl with a lot of blood on her body, and naturally, he's frightened. After that, one way or another, Takumi finds himself dragged into the middle of the serial murder case, which forces him to find a way to survive the ordeal.
3. Tokeijikake no Ley Line -Asagiri ni Chiru Hana- (VNDB 8.15)
Compared to the 51-month gap between the Tokeijikake trilogy's first and second part releases, the second and last part releases are only eight months apart. It helps that Sekai and the developer had already ironed out the buggy engine by the time the second part was available in March 2022, so they didn't need to wait too long to release the whole trilogy. As for the premise of the entire trilogy, it started with our MC Koga attending the mysterious magical school located in a remote area. Sometime after entering the school, Koga accidentally breaks a quite expensive statue. Unfortunately, Koga has no money to compensate for it. To have Koga take responsibility for the broken statue, the principal paired him with the head of the Bureau for the Investigation of Special Affairs, Ushio (the main heroine of the Tokeijikake trilogy). Said Bureau is responsible for investigating magic-related incidents in the school, and eventually, the Bureau would investigate the massive incident in the last part. Since both Koga and Ushio here are pretty stubborn, the meeting between those two ended in bad blood. Of course, both of them would develop their relationship throughout the trilogy.
2. Hakuchuumu no Aojashin (VNDB 8.52)
Around the time when the English version of Aojashin was released, several headache-inducing shenanigans happened. Those shenanigans are the writer's "smooth" way of addressing the censorship critic, the license problem for another Laplacian VN, and the setting change for the high school student heroine into a college student. While the English version here obviously didn't have 18+ contents because of the censorship, thankfully, a fan team worked hard to restore the removed contents and revert the change for the school student heroine. In Aojashin, we have a combination of Fata Morgana and Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V. The latter is because Laplacian used their previous VNs setting into Aojashin here, and ARC V did the same. Story-wise, it's closer to Fata Morgana because it and Aojashin have three initial stories/cases that converge into one main arc. Other similarities are that both have white-haired girls involved in the story, and that's where the similarities end. Unlike in Fata Morgana, where you start from the first story, in Aojashin, you'll randomly start in one of three initial cases. For the video, I'll use the Case 0 opening because Case 0 is the main arc of Aojashin itself.
1. Mahoutsukai no Yoru (VNDB 8.64)
After watching Evangelion, a man was getting inspiration to write a novel. However, the publisher rejected the novel because of its length. Some years later, after the man had been successful with Fate/Stay Night, he revisited his old novel. Yes, that man is Kinoko Nasu, and his old novel is Mahoyo with the full title Mahoutsukai no Yoru (literally translated as "A Magician's Night"). For the premise, we have Aoko (who, as we know, is Shiki's teacher in Tsukihime) suddenly chosen to become the head of a magician family, so naturally, she's underprepared. To prepare herself, she lives with the young witch Alice in her mansion to get some magic lessons. After some time, Aoko's classmate, Soujuurou, witnesses the duo using magic. Seeing no other choice, they force Soujuurou to live in the mansion. While the premise sounds like a slice-of-life story (and to be fair, it is), being a Type-Moon VN, there will be some battles with beautiful effects. Initially, Nasu planned Mahoyo to be the trilogy. But seeing that Nasu is still busy with FGO and promised to work on the sequels after he finishes with the Tsukihime remake (which only has the first half released in August 2021), it better not expect the sequels to be released soon.
Overall, 2022 still has some good releases, even though they're not as big as 2021. That said, I felt that some of the exciting releases concentrated on the fan discs, which, while it's not bad per se, I would prefer to see more exciting releases for the main title here. Anyway, now that we're in 2023 here, I hope we see more nice releases, especially from Nekonyan. Of course, I still want to see if JAST can keep their release pace, even with them sometimes releasing the Remaster of their old VNs. Lastly, while I don't know if I can look forward to Mangagamer and Sekai's new title, I hope they can release some interesting VNs.
PS - Since we have William Shakespeare in Aojashin, I allude to his play, A Midsummer Night's Dream, by changing "Night's Dream" into "Magician's Night" (because Mahoyo release), so we have "A Midsummer Magician's Night" as the title.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/14/2018)
Finally we have on time VNTS for this week, although in turn this time my VNTS review is quite late. As for the title, you may find it quite strange, although in fact it's just another role association from me here because the seiyuu for the image header girl was also voicing Makoto back in Chrono Clock, who as we knew is the yakuza. For peace loving part, it's to adapt with another name of Supipara Chapter 2 in which it was called Peace Story, and especially it was because the 'Pi' part from Supipara is stand for Peace. It's pretty ironic though that the girl in image header (Hotaru) was supposed to the main girl of Peace Story, and yet she's quite a tsundere who managed to say 'kill' five times in a conversation with MC lol. With that done, welcome to this week VNTS Review which is to be very frank still quite anemic although at least we have two major updates from Mangagamer (One release and one planned release), so at least this week it's slightly more active. Let's see what I can write for this week as well.
As for Sekai, no notable update will be very appropriate for them. For the update, we have Loveduction was fully translated and need some engine work. Other than the only update, we have Sekai revealed three additional secret projects. What I know is that we still didn't have info for that project, so I guess we better just wait and see later. However, the most probable guess would be those three projects would be another lesser known VNs considering that those three VNs were almost ready for release, and more if we knew that it's just revealed today. But even so, I will be happy though if those three secret projects turn out to be very well known VNs, almost impossible as it is. For secret projects progress roundup, the 1st project was in QA, 2nd project was fully translated and 99% translated, and 3rd project was still waiting for the third party (According to the tracker it's almost ready for release).
As for fan translation once again it's only just regular updates, although this time we have Pure Pure have a break though because the translator was busy at the university. For the roundup we have Musumaker was at 52% translated, Eustia was reached 40% mark (40.06%) translated along with at 24.82% TLC-ed, Harugi's prologue was at halfway translated along with 28% TLC-ed and 16% edited (The overall progress was still at around 1%), Higurashi Tsukiotoshi was almost completely translated (At 99% translated), Shin Koihime Musou was at 26% edited, and Witch Garden was at 44% translated. Still no news from Tsurezure yet although perhaps they're quite busy lately, so that's all for fan translation section.
Other
This week we also have Punchline VN release news for both of PS4 and PSV at this summer later, although seeing that at the same time we'll gonna have the probable release for both of Island and Shibuya Scramble - by the way we already have another Island anime PV and apparently it'll be released as a part of summer 2018 season, so it mean that there's a chance that we'll get Island VN release at summer later. Back to Punchline, for the info it was created as anime first by Uchikoshi (Ever17, Zero Escape) and the anime have some infamy for showing too much fan service. So the bottom line here is that Punchline announcement was not interesting to me because it was overshadowed, and it was only available for console.
We also have change from Sol Press in which they decided to announced another VN from the same company as Sakusakura (Yotsunoha), and it was quite an old VN from 2000's. From the first look, I just think it was just an average moege but at least it was good looking - also it have OVA as well. As for the translation progress, it was already at the middle and right now it was at 42% translated, 30% edited, and 8% QA-ed. Other than Yotsuhana announcement, we also finally have Sol Press made a new website in which it looks neat. They also made the progress for their two remaining VNs project is easier to navigate, especially in regard of Newton VN in which it was at 85% translated along with 70% edited and 40% QA-ed (At least we didn't need to take not which route was in translation and in editing). As for the release date for those three VNs, they're quite confident to announced the exact release date although keep in mind that they may have delay in regard of the release - for the date, Newton VN will be released at May 25th, Sakusakura at 30th later, and Yotsunoha at July 27th.
Mangagamer
From Mangagamer, we have one planned release with the exact date ready. As for the release, it was Fata Morgana fandisc in which it'll be released at May 17th later. Although it could be said as the fandisc, actually it also depict the past of certain characters who said to be the catalyst of Fata Morgana story (I can't say it freely because it was a major spoiler). Go preorder that if you want to see more Fata Morgana.
Other than Fata Morgana fandisc release date announcement, we also have Supipara Chapter 2 (Peace Story) in which it's also the currently last chapter for Supipara. I said currently because Supipara itself was pretty ambitious project that was planned to have five chapters, only for minori to face the financial danger before barely saved (That's why their heroines in VNs after Supipara release have big breast). For Peace Story itself, our focus will be on Hotaru in which once again is a quite tsundere and her connection with Alice the Witch. There's also interesting fact that there's an opening that depict the heroines for the remaining two unavailable chapters, in which it should be a hint that minori did intend to continue their ambitious project, because if not I think there would be no new opening for Supipara even with the reduced cost for that (The new opening is till better animated compared to usual VN opening though). As for my opinion here while the opening itself sounds exciting (I like it), I still have some doubt that we'll be able to see this complete because it'll be need a lot of money so more or less I'm pretty wary about this. In the end, I hope taht I'll be able to see Supipara released with all of five chapters completed, although it might take very long time to achieve that.
I think that's all for this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (08/12/2017)
The title for this time was combined 'A Peaceful Story' that was came from Supipara Chapter 2 that was also known as Peace Story, and Sengoku from Sengoku Rance in which both of those two were Mangagamer Otakon announcement. I knew that the title was quite ironic in a way, considering that back at Sengoku Rance there's always war in the VN itself and also in real life Sengoku era itself was dubbed as period of near-constant military conflict. Welcome to this week VNTS Review along with my commentary in regard of Otakon, although it's very late though for obvious reason the moment I wrote this (Forum breakdown and all).
As for the Otakon itself, this time it's only Mangagamer that had participate and Sekai did had announcements at another convention (Anime Fest). As for my opinion, well to tell the truth the announcements from both of them were quite a letdown to me especially in regard of Mangagamer (Last year Otakon from them was had new interesting announcements, and so does with recent AX), but then again perhaps my expectation was a bit too high here. Regardless, let me write what I could say in regard of Otakon here (And Anime Fest as well if possible).
For the fan translation, after the announcement that Clover Days was translated there's no much to report here other than usual progress, which of course still good if one keep an eye on one of the fan translation project that interest them. For the roundup of fan translation project here, we had Eustia at 19.80% translated, 12.66% edited, and 12.36% TLC-ed; Kanobito was at 8% translated; Majokoi was at 92% edited; Pure Pure was at 22.59% translated; Tsujidou was at 10.3% translated and 6.7% edited; Tsujidou Ai's route was past halfway (58.66%) translated, and overall was at 37.06% translated; and Loverable was at 84.62% translated (Nanako's route at 84.78% translated), 51.53% TLC-ed, and 20.91% edited. This week we also had Lovely Cation progress and right now 1,200 lines from Sera's route (Out of 4,565 lines) were translated. I think that's all for fan translation here, and of course we didn't had either Otakon or Anime Fest announcement for this.
Sekai Project
Sekai's announcement from Anime Fest to be honest not very interesting to me, because it's just new OELVN and I think I didn't interested with those VNs here, but then again maybe there's some people who look forward to the OELVNs. As for the OELVNs announcements, three of those fives were yuri (ie shoujo ai) announcements so perhaps you might interested with those three title if you're yuri fan (The shoujo ai VNs were Blackberry Honey, Same As It Ever Was (From Highway Blossom developer), and Synergy). Another announcement from them was otome game (Operation: Future Domination), in which it didn't really interesting to me to said it lightly although apparently it had some sort of time loop story though so perhaps it could be interesting there. For the last announcement, there's Exogenesis in which it was already in development for 4 years. The premise was apparently it was in post big war setting thing so perhaps it might be interesting, although too bad though that I didn't interested for now (Good luck for the project though).
Speaking of OELVN, there's Shining Song Starnova in which they launched the kickstarter and I think the goal was a bit lower for developing VN that was claimed using Japanese seiyuu, which is only at 40,000. Other than that, there's a problem namely that the writing was quite not fitting according to Zakamutt. Not that I interested with the VN anyway considering that it was mostly just like usual idol anime, but nonetheless good luck to the KS I guess. For the last news in regard of Sekai, let's close it with the good news that Saku Saku was finally will be released at 25th which of course it was very good news. Although seeing that Wagahigh got delayed after the release date was determined, perhaps I better be careful in regard delayed release from Saku Saku (By the way, the release was delayed to 31st at the time I write this (August 24th), but of course I stull looking forward to this (Delayed or not I would be waiting Saku Saku here, although of course I prefer that delay didn't happen).
That's all for Sekai Project section here.
Mangagamer
Before going to the Otakon announcement from them, this week they had two updates. The first update was they released Marina which is apparently just a short NTR nukige VN, which to said not my type here but perhaps there would be some people here who would appreciated that kind of VN. The second update is that they're about to release Boukaku at Spetember 8th later, and they already released the demo for it so if you want to see Boukaku by yourself you may check that out. As for me, I'd already tried the demo itself and I think it's pretty much usual otome game although the MC herself was kind of weak willed though (So much that you could get the bad end at the beginning). So I think I won't get this VN even though it's interested me back at last year AX because it had some sex scene, but if you already decided to get Boukaku hope you gonna enjoy that later.
As for this year, to tell the truth I expected that Mangagamer would bring something like Sengoku Koihime or Haretaka rather than what we had now. Guess I was asked too much here if I wish for those two, especially Haretaka in which it would had some additional procedure before finally Mangagamer could bring it now that Chuuable Soft was bankrupt. Regard less of what I said, I think it's better if we just accepted the announcement from them for now and hope that next time there would be a better announcements from them.
Like Sekai, this week Mangagamer was also announced a number of OELVN to their collection. As for the OELVN itselves, I would said that I didn't quite interested with them in the first place although I must said that one of those were different from the rest of OELVN. As for Lupesoft VN, let's just said that I didn't interested with them at all. As for Five Hearts, it's a yuri VN just like Mangagamer another announcement here but with the monster girl so maybe it could appeal people who like both of monster girl and yuri. For the last OELVN announcements, there's 'His Chuunibyou Can’t be Cured!' which apparently will tell a story of how a group of gaming student was tried to created their own video games. Didn't knew the detail yet, but perhaps it could be interesting I guess. I think that's all for the OELVN and let me write in regard of the localization announcements.
For the first localized VN, there's Ritarnia in which it was another HRPG which focused on the spirit girl. To be honest, right now it was lack of info when I did searched about this one but I managed to found one Youtube video and apparently it was some akin of first person RPG with usual turn based combat. The story itself was fairly cliche old RPG with a threat was looming in the peaceful country, and it's up to the MC himself to counter and destroy the threat. I just hope that in the future we could get more info in regard of this one, and I think for now I prefer Evenicle in regard of HRPG.
Didn't really interested with Room No.9 because it's yaoi and all (If you like that yaoi announcement it's okay), but at least we managed to see Mangagamer get the license for Sono Hanabira 11 aka 1st secret project in which it did had fan translation project previously. As for the premise itself, actually it's just the continuation of the previous five couples that was developed in the previous 10 VNs and the couples would like to deepen their relationship there. However, other than those couples they also featured a new couple in which it's not exactly new though now that they already debuted in 'Remember How We Met' back at 2015 - in fact the couple from that VN (Risa x Miya) was first appeared in Sono Hanabira 11. For more info, it was already had the fan project back at Yuri Project and I already knew that they planned to sell the translation to Mangagamer, also the fact that actually the translator himself (Ralen) was already involved with the official localization of Nyuu Jene so perhaps Sono Hanabira 11 localized by Mangagamer was forgone conclusion.
As for Supipara, at least they finally managed to reach 200,000 sales which mean that they should be prepared for Chapter 2 (ie Peace Story) release in which it will be more focused on our half French tsundere Hotaru. As for Supipara itself, I think it's already well known that it was an ambitious project by minori that was failed because the development cost for that was too expensive, and for now we only had two stories (Smile (Chapter 1) and Peace (Chapter 2)) out of supposed five stories which of course was still incomplete considering that we missed 60% of the story. And since now that we had Chapter 2 announced, minori decided to announced additional goal for their fundraising in order to develop Chapter 3 (aka Passion Story) in which they need to bring the overall sales at 350,000 (ie they need to gather at least 150,000 to start the development). I would say that this method would be too slow if they really want to launch Supipara faster, but then again it might be only need two years perhaps if they managed to release Trinoline later and add the sales to fundraising (Would be still be very slow though). For now I would like to just wait and see as usual, although I won't expect much though.
For Rance announcements, I would say that this is actually good announcements. But I would say that Sengoku announcements was very redundant to me here, if only because we already had that fully translated for a long time ago mistakes aside. Besides, I think some people out there would be prefer that Mangagamer announced the new stuff instead of Sengoku because they already secured Rance license with Rance VI release. Well whatever float in Mangagamer's boat I guess, although to tell the truth I prefer Mangagamer (And Arunaru as the translator) got busy in Rance IX instead of this though, because to tell the truth I want to see of how Rance IX conclude one of the interesting subplot (You knew if you play Sengoku).
As for Rance Quest, it's good that they got the Magnum version because it was the improved version of Rance Quest. Also they got the old translator to work on this so it should be good, but then again it's quite inevitable though that the old translator (Tulip Goddess Maria) would work on this sooner or later. As for the premise, it's the continuation of Sengoku in which it would tell us of how Rance will tried his best to resolve his own problem, only to greeted by another problem because he was too reckless in regard of having sex (It's quite complicated to explain). Long story short, Rance decided to gathering the female that he sexed, and from there he was doing as he please while searching a way to solve his problem. As for the story, I'd heard that it was mostly quest based which mean that there will be no big war like VI or IX. Although the main point for this VN was apparently it's trying to resolve the side characters story from Rance which should be a lot considering that it was already out for 20 years. I'll be looking forward to this for now, even if the wasn't as epic as VI here.
I think that's all for what I could write in regard of Otakon here. See you next week (Or rather next VNTS Review).
PS - Forget to said that Subahibi was as expected managed to reach the goal at 80,000 at this week, although looks like they're gonna had a hard time though to reach 180,000.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review. For the title because we have Rance IX release with the gameplay resembled Mamatoto (So much that we can say that Alicesoft did remake Mamatoto through Rance IX), I decided to make a parody of Mamatoto's subtitle 'A Record of War' by changing 'War' with 'Revolution' (The subtitle Rance IX is The Helmanian Revolution) so we have 'A Record of Revolution' as this week title. For this week, compared to the last week I can say that this is an eventful one, obviously thanks to IX release. That said, we also have some other interesting news, such as Shiravune announced Tamayura Mirai and White Album 2 Mini After Story full translation patch release. Overall this week is quite interesting, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
Idea Factory did announce that they'll release Charade Maniacs sometimes around this, although Chinese version here has exact release date in that it'll be released on April 27th later. Whether Idea Factory will release English version on that date or not, we'll see. What I know for sure is that it's an otome VN with the premise that the female MC was transported into another world through kidnapping, and it's only available for Switch. Speaking of otome VN, we also have surprise release of The Crimson Flower That Divides in that it's otome VN with the setting on where female is almost nonexistent thanks to the disease, and our female MC here who had a dark past currently been adopted by the royal family. Currently it's only available on Switch with PC version will be available later, so feel free to try if you have Switch and felt interested with it.
Before going to fan translation, I should mention that there's another DLC release for Obedient Women with said DLC is focused on Kurara Hasumi, and that turned out we'll going to have 12 heroines instead of 10. As for fan translation updates, we have H2O is at 9.5% edited, Yosuga no Sora is at 47% edited, Bishoujo Mangekyou 2.5 is fully translated, Akagoei FD is at 13.79% edited, 12 out of 169 script files for Akagoei 3 are translated, ChuSingura is at 18.46% translated, Ruitomo is at 19.51% translated, and Irru is finally starting the editing work on Yuzuki's route. Lastly we have WA2 Mini-After Story full translation patch released (Obviously all of the six drama CDs are translated as well), so go get the patch if you want to read WA2 after stories and have fun.
Nekonyan was finally starting the QA works on Clover Days, and for the info it's basically confirmed by the translator himself on his tweet. With Nekonyan also posted several English translation of Clover Days and that it already starting the QA, perhaps we may see it as their next release. Speaking of next release, like I say beforehand we have Shiravune announced Tamayura Mirai in that I sort of already predict it. From what I can gather, Tamayura Mirai is about the MC who is a magician going back to his backwater town with said village has several supernatural creature, and that the MC will spent his life together with the supernatural creature. As for the exact release date, apparently it'll be out on April 21st so let's see if we can see the release on that date later.
Lastly we have Mangagamer released Rance IX, and before I'm going with IX I'll mention that Mangagamer will release Nightmare x Onmyouji as their next release on 23rd later. Back to Rance, in here after he recovering from his mistake back in Quest, this time he came into Helman in which it's plaguing with corruption. After Rance came into the country, his acquaintance Patton asking Rance to purge the corruption from Helman by instigating revolution. Seeing that it may help Rance to achieve his current goal, Rance decided to help Patton with Rance demanded Patton to had Rance as the leader of the revolution. Like I say beforehand, the gameplay is like Mamatoto with several casts even resemble the role that Mamatoto characters had. Anyway go get IX if you want more Rance, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Welcome to my VNTS Review for this week, and as for the title since we have Mugen Renkan release and the VN itself telling us the story about a beautiful immortal who suffer a lot of sexual violence, I decided to derived the VN Abyss of the Sacrifice by changing 'Sacrifice' into 'Immortal' so we have 'Abyss of the Immortal' for this week title which to say is quite poetic lol. As for this week, what I can say is that it's not quite bad with Mugen Renkan release and Iwaihime announcement, with the latter was one of most requested VN to be localized courtesy of Ryukishi07 who write the scenario for that. Other than Iwaihime announcement, we also have Mangagamer announce their next release as usual after released Mugen Renkan and the release in question in Rance 01 and 02 bundle. So I can say that this week is slightly less active compared to the last week, but in exchange it have a lot of new release announcements compared to last week. Let's see what I can write for this week as well.
Like I say beforehand I'll talk about Abyss in the Sacrifice. As for the VN itself, what I can say is that the casts itself is definitely the main strong point with name such as Kitamura Eri and Yukana. The premise itself was about the usual escape game like Zero Time Dilemma, although instead of nine people we'll have five people participating in the game with all of the players are schoolgirls. It should also be noted that the girls are from different countries, although of course it probably won't factored much in the escape game. For one more info, the VN itself is from 2010, so in case you find the graphic quite outdated it's pretty much quite understandable. I don't really know though whether the VN is good or not, seeing that there's no much review that talk about this VN. For the reminder, Abyss of the Sacrifice will be released at December 17th later so you may note the date if you want to play it.
Sol Press only give one substantial update from Nukitashi in that it's been at 45% edited, while for both of Sakura Celebration and Irotoridori they still waiting for the QA. Actually they also have the updates for the rest of their leftover licenses, although in this case it's more like they tried to search for the translator after the staffs left them. For the detail, currently they tried to do some restaffing for both of Shitsuaru and Himawari no Kioku (Which should be obvious is quite ironic because they talk big about on how they'll deliver the release quickly back at AX and not give much updates after the announcements), and they tried to searching the staffs for Windmill VNs (HHG and Witch's Garden). After I see the controversy, I guess I can say that Sol Press is not to do well at this moment to put it nicely and so I can only say that at least they still not desperate enough to cancel their Windmill VNs licenses yet.
As for fan translation, no much to say other than we have some nice updates as usual. For the updates we have Loverable was at 91.32% edited, Chaos Head Noah did have four routes are fully translated (Or rather finished the first pass translation) with some other routes got some significant progress (The translator blogpost for more detail on the progress), Reflection Blue was at 63.34% edited with Shizuku's route was fully edited, Harugi Branch was almost fully translated at 99% translated, and Eustia was at 98.78% translated with side route was at 92.07% translated. We also have the patch for Miotsukushi Ura that was released just recently, so if you want to play one more different version of Miotsukushi then you can get the patch and have fun (Although getting all of Higurashi original parts (Onikakushi to Matsuribayashi) with PS3 graphic and voice is more than enough to me). For the next plan, they'll working on both of Hajisarashi and Kotohogushi arcs so you can look forward for more additional arcs of Higurashi if you've want more of it.
Since Mangagamer released Mugen Renkan, as per tradition they'll announce the next release and in this case it's Rance 01 and 02 bundle. For the release date of first two Rance remake, it'll be at 29th later so you didn't need to wait until November there. As for Mugen Renkan itself, it tell the story on a nameless woman who become immortal and thus won't be able to death. Of course it come with disadvantage, with the woman herself is a slave and it mean she's a convenient object of physical torture. She obviously didn't like the torture, and thus she decided to ran away from the immortal king who rule the world. Her journey won't be easy, seeing that the king sent the cadres to catch her and bring her back to the king, and so the MC's journey would involved running away from the king's cadres across several eras. While in the end it's the story about a meaning of life for the immortal woman, it should be noted that there's a lot of sex scenes in there with most of those involving rape, although it's not worse compared to either euphoria or Maggot Baits if you wonder about that (I still won't recommend 15 years old player to play this though). Go get Mugen Renkan if you want some dark VN with female MC, and have fun.
For Iwaihime, it's been one of VN that was predicted to be one of ShiraVN project, and turned out that ShiraVN manage to get it localized with Lemnisca was the one who work on the translation. As for the writer himself, surely you know that the one who responsible here is Ryukishi07 of Higurashi and Umineko fame. Of course seeing the writer, it mean that there'll be a lot of horror involved in the story. We also already have the trial for this released at Steam, so you can try the trial if you curious and have fun. By the way I already see the trial for a bit, and I can see that Ryukishi here did apply quite a number of his Higurashi writing in Iwaihime so you may feel some deja vu if you already read Higurashi. I'll tell the premise when it's released in English, and you didn't need to wait for too long for the release seeing that ShiraVN already announce that it'll be released at 23rd later. You didn't need to worry about the censorship from Steam, because this VN itself is an all age VN in the first place (Looks like Ryukishi prefer to write all age VN there, although he still manage to write some scenes that barely looks like the sex scenes).
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/12/2022)
Because we have Lover Pretend in which it finally has the villainess otome VN character (Even if for one route only) and said character work as the gravure model, I made reference of a certain 'reincarnated into villainess otome' manga, Accomplishments of the Duke's Daughter, by changing 'Duke's Daughter' into 'Gravure Model' so we have 'Accomplishments of the Gravure Model' as this week VNTS Review title. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review, and if I may summarize this week it would be slightly below average to me, but if anything else at least we still have some updates with the biggest one is Tsukihime Remake was fully translated. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
Aksys released Lover Pretend, and out of all translated otome VN so far it's the only one that purely featuring usual romance drama instead of having very interesting premise. As for the premise, we have Chiyuki who work as the assistant of the script writer tasked to write about love. Seeing that Chiyuki has never experienced romance in the first place, obviously the job would be very hard to her. That said, she did very best so that she can write the best script in order to fulfill her two dream, to be the best scriptwriter like her late mother and to find about her missing father who according to the clue that her mother left is that the one who involved in drama may know something about it. Little did she know that she'll learn about love through her new job, in which she'll end up with one of five heroes. Go get Lover Pretend if you have Switch (Unfortunately still no Steam release here) and been looking forward to it, and have fun.
For this week fan translation we have Chronos is at three quarter translated, 14 out of 138 script files for Umi kara Kuru Mono are translated, Anzu's route of Akagoei FD is at 70% translated, Senmomo is at 80.67% edited with Chapter 6 is at 64.45% edited, ChuSingura is at 16.37% translated, and H2O is at 56.7% translated with Hinata's route is fully translated (By the way the translator already decided to work on Yui's route along with the rest of Root After and Another contents before going back to translate Otoha's route). There's also another update in regard of Eiyuutan in which the translator already finished translate all of 10 script files for Aisha's route in Episode 1 (Excluding the sex scenes), and turned out that the true number of script files in Episode 1 is 23 script files, so currently we have 10 out of 23 script files of Eiyuutan first episode are translated.
We finally have all Ciel's route of Tsukihime Remake are fully translated, which obviously mean that all of Tsukihime Remake are fully translated. That said though, obviously it didn't mean that we can get the translation patch directly because there's still some works left to do, such as editing and finalizing, in which the translator already worked on those two in the past (Ciel's route up to day 8 is already edited while at the same time Ciel's route has been finalized up to day 6). Speaking of fully translated, we also have all of Yoshitsune's route of Majikoi A-5 is fully translated, which mean Majikoi A-5 here is fully translated, although of course we still need to wait for the polishing works (ie TLC and editing works) before the release. Almost forgot to mention that Mangagamer released Detective Masochist 3, and I can only say whatever to that nukige (Go get it though if you want more Detective Masochist after playing the previous two prequel).
Lastly we have Committee of Zero announced that they'll release Chaos Head Noah fix patch in this month, in which it's already been delayed from initial release plan on October because the high number of bugs, especially the Switch version. Speaking of Noah, while there's a lot of mistake so much that Committee of Zero urge the player to wait for the fix patch, at least this time PC version of Noah has mouse support unlike Robotic Notes where we need to wait for the fix patch in order to have mouse support on PC version of Robotic Notes.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have a certain magical girl nukige along with Hentai Prison announced by Shiravune, I decided to make a magical girl anime from this season (Autumn 2024), Acro Trip, with I changed 'Trip' into 'Prison', so we have 'Acro Prison' as the title. As for this week, well if not for Shiravune being active it would be a plain week seeing there's no much to talk at this week. As for the announcement, while Hentai Prison is admittedly big announcement looking from how well received it is, it didn't really surprising seeing Shiravune accidentally leaked it one week before the formal announcement. Other than Shiravune being active, we also see Mangagamer finally announce the exact release date for one of their VN, and we have Mages announce the remaster for both Never7 and Ever17 with both will be available in English. Overall, this week is another below average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
The aforementioned magical girl nukige that Shiravune announced was ExS-Tia in which it's the series of magical girl nukige, although Shiravune announced the new one, ExS-Tia Concerto 1, instead of the older one, which make sense if we see it took Palette remake Mashiro Iro to have Shiravune localized it. It also should be noted that Concerto is the new series of ExS-Tia, so there's no need to play the older version before starting it. For the premise, it's about Haruno who is an ordinary girl was suddenly encounter a monster and then got a mysterious device that allow her to transform into magical girl, and turned out the people in the city can be possessed by a Guilt Seed with the possessed person turned into the monster. After fighting the monster, Haruno was asked to search for Guilt Seed, and so she tried her best to do so. Note that while I mentioned this as magical girl nukige, actually you can avoid all of the sex scenes with Haruno's virginity remain intact until the ending. Since this is the first part of the tetralogy, I hope Shiravune will announce the rest of Concerto VNs. No release date mentioned for this, although we'll most likely see the release in the next year.
Mangagamer finally announced the exact release date for one of their VN, although unfortunately said release is not either Raillore or Ixseal, but instead it's Sex Open World with it will be released on December 19th later. Well admittedly it has good graphic which is a requirement for a nukige, although I'm not sure whether I should feel excited or not. Regardless, feel free to note the date if you're interested with it. We also have LingerieS developer announce the new release time, and they'll try to release it by the next month, December, so let's see if we can see the release next month. We also have the translator finally finished Taima Seiko Alice translation, with the translator need to take care the remaining works for both editing and proofreading before finally release it.
Mages announce the remaster for both Never7 and Ever17, although somehow they skipped over Remember11 for some reasons. My first reaction of the announcements is redundant seeing both already have translation, with Never7 was translated by Lemnisca when they still fan group and Ever17 was translated by Hirameki in 2005. That said, seeing some comments on how rough Hirameki translation is along with Mages will use XBOX360 version which has new script that has some changed for better or worse, perhaps Ever17 here won't be so redundant after all, and if anything else they planned to use the sprites from the original PC version instead of the jarring XBOX360 version. Since Ever17 premise is widely known, I'll just write a bit about Never7 in which it would be better to expect this as Memories Off series with dramatic sci-fi twist at the end instead of full sci-fi story. Oh yes, Mages already have the exact release date for the remaster, with it will be released on March 6th of the next year.
Last but not the least, we have Shiravune announced they manage to get Hentai Prison license, which honestly speaking it's not surprising seeing they leaked the announcement a week beforehand, and even then it's not really surprising seeing Nukitashi sales on Steam show some big number so it's pretty obvious Qruppo will ask Shiravune to localize their Hentai Prison with it currently far more well received compared to Nukitashi duology with it already have good receptions. Still, it's nice of Qruppo to have all their VNs are available in English after they're almost failed to do so with Sol Press going out of business back when they still have Nukitashi's license. Anyway, for the premise we have the MC Shuuichiro who believe the best way of expressing the art is by being naked in the public, although unfortunately for him most of the people didn't share his opinion so he became the repeat offender before being arrested after assaulting the police. Seeing Shuuichiro didn't show the regret, the judge sentence him 10 years imprisonment in the worst prison, Tulip Prison. As for the exact release date, Shiravune only mention it'll be sometimes in the next year, so let's wait and see for the news later.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week I think I can say that it's still an active one like last week with two (Short) VNs being released by Aniplex back at 19th. Other than Aniplex VNs, we also have some updates from both fan translation and Sekai along with two sudden VNs releases. Overall while I did say that this week is still an active one, it's slightly less compared to the last week. Anyway let's see what I can write for this week, and I'll explain the title at PS later.
Once again we have Irotoridori update from Sol Press, in that we have that was at almost finished with 98% translated along with 87% edited. We also have Sekai did announced their four new secret projects, although looking back when their secret project could be not available for English at first like Amairo Chocolata or might be one on non-VN I wouldn't trust the projects until they reveal it (For the record their third secret project was at 60% translated). For the remaining updates from Sekai, we have Nine Episode 3 was at 40% translated, Amairo Chocolata was fully edited, Kimagure was at 40% translated, and Island Diary was fully edited. I'll just hope that they'll reveal the secret projects at AX Lite latter (If they decided to attend it), and that's all for Sekai's update.
From fan translation we have Eustia was 90.31% translated with side stories was at 37.13% translated, new fragments from Matsuribayashi PS3 version was fully translated, 6,637 out of 43,896 lines from Pure x Connect was edited, Taimainin Yukikaze 2 was at 70% translated, and Kud Wafter all age was at 71.4% translated. We also have a sort of update from Tsurezure in that Irru did say that they still working on it, albeit not like before because each of the members did being busy. More importantly Irru did say that his goal is to release Momiji's patch by this month (June), so let's see if we'll be able to see it released or not at 30th later.
For the aforementioned sudden releases, we have both of Kirakira Star Idol Project Nagisa and Palais de Reine. I don't know much about Kirakira Star Idol Project Nagisa other than it's a VN with the setting of idol industry where the MC is the idol manager, although I know that Palais de Reine developer itself is KOGADO. As for Palais de Reine, while we have female MC we won't have another GL VN like Nurse Love duology or Yumeutsutsu, but instead we'll going to have the female MC having a romance with one of several male love interests (Apparently the number of love interests is seven). Yes Palais de Reine itself is an otome VN, and in this case we also have the goal to gain the trust from all of the people in her kingdom seeing that she's basically still not prepared to rule the kingdom and yet she must do it seeing that her older brother is missing and her father is already passed away. Not quite interesting to me as of now, but if you like otome VN with the focus of building the kingom then you can get it at Steam and have fun.
Like I say earlier, we have Aniplex decided to enter VN market and back at 19th they released both of their first two VNs. Seeing that Sony recently being infamous for the excessive censorship and that Aniplex is a part of Sony, we should know well that there's no way that those two VNs will contain sex scenes even in the original version, so you shouldn't worry about the censorship. I'll try to talk about Adabana first, in that it's the 6th Liar-soft VNs to be translated after Inganock, Sharnoth, Forest, Gahkthun, and Yurirei. For the premise, we have a pair of mysterious male warrior Kurofude and an amnesiac girl Shirohime who trapped in the realm called Adabana. Together they'll travelling through the Japanese folktales in that some of those did have distortion and their task is to fix the distortion, and from there hopefully they'll be able to solve the mysteries that surrounds them. If you interested with dabana thanks to Liar-soft usual art, you can get it from Steam and have fun (Although apparently Sony did block this on Europe for some reason).
About ATRI, I know that the writer is Kono Asta who did write two Pulltop's VNs that was released for overseas censored (Konosora and Miagete), SCA-JI also work at this, and that the developer of this VN is Frontwing. While I admitted that I'm interested with whether Frontwing will work together with SCA-JI (And Makura) again to localize Sakura no Uta or not, actually ATRI itself did have some interesting concept in that the setting is basically a drowned Earth with only a small part of land was habitable. Although our focus obviously wouldn't talk about the drowned Earth much though, but rather we'll going to have our MC Natsuki who somehow find a robot girl in underwater laboratory who was apparently a relic from the past. The robot girl itself has a name, and the name is Atri. From there Atri decided to serve Natsuki as a way of returning the favor for salvaged her from underwater. In any case, you can get ATRI from Seam if you interested with it and have fun, and at least Aniplex here didn't block ATRI for Europe unlike Adabana.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - For this week title, I parodied SmPC movie and that I changed 'SmPC' with 'Adabana' and 'picture book' with 'Japanese folktales', because both works are basically have the characters getting lost in the chaotic story and it's up to the characters to fix the problem.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explain it at PS later. Anyway as for this week one of the big news is in regard of Laplacian announcements of Aojashin English release in which turned out that the writer is quite infamous in Japanese (Well the character bio in each of Laplacian's website should be in line with the writer personality), and let's just say that it caused a lot of drama in Reddit. Another one is that we finally have Nekonyan confirmed that yes they'll release Hello Lady at 21st later, and obviously this week we have two releases (Mashimaro and Dead Aegis) in which both of those are interesting on their own. Overall despite some headache inducing drama in regard of Aojashin I can say that this week is interesting, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
As for Aojashin itself, the writer is still decided to have it censored along with write some bold responses. Obviously the response didn't help the situation at all, especially when there's two censor known with one of those is in regard of removing the school element. While to be fair they need to deal with Steam which it can be random when it come to ban, the school removal here would make Aojashin new version lose the reference of first Laplacian VN (Aojashin here is supposed to make the reference across three previous Laplacian VNs). Surprisingly almost nobody asked on why the VN is not all age in the first place if the English version is more in line with author's vision, but I guess it's easy to answer by comparing it with minori. Anyway, the English version has some new features with the most important one is the music player which is missing in the original version, although as for whether the other new features can justify the loss of the sex scenes like Dies Irae we'll see.
After Mashimaro release, we have Shiravune announced femdom nukige with all of the heroines are nurses with the name Nope Nope Nurses. I can only say that you may get if if you have some dominant nurses fetish, and if you want to get it then you can wait until 14th later (Or you can wait until 21st because Shiravune here somehow manage to sell this on Steam). Speaking of nukige, we also have Cherry Kiss announced yet another nukige with the title 'Hentai Houseparty: Gyaru Gangbang', in which the MC himself is live with three gyaru heroines and then the MC will have a lot of sex with all three. In case you somehow interested with the nukige, note that it'll be released at 18th later. Love Lab here finally has a new project, although the name of the project is still not revealed yet so it's called Secret Project for now (Duh). As for the current progress of said Secret Project, we have it at 6.7% translated (Meru's tweet for the source).
From fan translation we have Senmomo was at 24.54% edited with Chapter 2 was at 22.28% edited, Loverable was at 99.66% edited, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 70% edited along with halfway in proofreading. There's also some update in regard of Tsukihime Remake Part 1, and currently the team managed to translated the 8th day. Although actually there's more than that though, because there's both route (Arcueid and Ciel) and the progress is only for Arcueid's 8th day while currently Ciel 8th day is still untranslated, so perhaps the appropriate calling here would be 'Arcueid day 6 through 8 translated'. Oh yes it also has some other progress, with day 9 and 11 Arcueid show some progress (38% and 44% respectively) along with some of Ciel's route (Fully translated for day 1, three quarter translated for day 2, and 5% translated for day 3).
As expected JAST did release Dead Aegis. As for Dead Aegis itself, first of all it's character was designed by Ueda Metawo who as we know drew some disturbing contents in Sadistic Blood so much that JAST offer a patch to give the mosaic to it. For Dead Aegis itself, it's more or less magical girl nukige that was been hyped up which make sense seeing that it's rare to see a lengthy magical girl VN (Beside Sakuramoyu). Dead Aegis here also has some interesting plot and the setting building from what I hear, namely that the higher up just using magical girl as the weapon in the space war and the only way to power them up was by having the magical girl being raped by the alien. So yeah it's obviously not a typical light magical girl series like Precure (Duh), and of course it has some disturbing sex scenes. Go get Dead Aegis if you want some magical girl nukige to play with some nice plot along with didn't mind the disturbing contents, and have fun.
Last but not the least, we have Mashimaro released by Shiravune. As for Mahimaro, the most obvious things is that the setting is far more lighthearted compared to Dead End Aegis in that the MC did try to help a patisserie that has been left out by the customers. Obviously though the task is not easy seeing that it has some competitor with bigger capital and more popular, but our MC will obviously do everything to make sure it's successful as the repayment for the owner (Kanon, also one of the heroine) who help him when the MC was starved thanks to being kicked out from his house. Go get Mashimaro from Johren if you interested with charage that has patisserie setting, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
PS - For the title since we have Mashimaro released I decided to parodied one of vocal song from KKPC in which case it's Ichika's 1st image song, Add the Berry to My Big Love, by changing 'Love' with 'Marshmallow' (I know that 'Berry' here is a pun for 'Very'). For the info, the opening song of Mashimaro here was sang by Tsukiyono Usagi (Marmallade here is not very subtle with Sailor Moon parody) who as we know is the idol in the second Primal x Hearts, and both of Usagi and Ichika here has rabbit as their animal motif (Translation Note: Usagi mean rabbit).
Welcome to my first VNTS Review in 2022, and as for the title since we have Magia Record (It's spinoff anime of Madoka that was adapted from the mobile game) along with Dead Aegis I decided to parodied the former by changing 'Magia' into 'Aegis' so we have 'Aegis Record' as the title. As for this week, even though there's no release yet I can still say that this week is no less good compared to the last week, mainly thanks to both of Shiravune and Nekonyan did announce the exact release date for both of their VNs (Mashimaro and Hello Lady respectively). Other than the release announcements, we also have some updates with one of those is from JAST in which they also announced their new releases as well. Overall this week is an interesting one to a degree, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well.
Since 2021 was already passed, it mean that age was not manage to release Total Eclipse as promised and therefore they need to revise the release year to be at 2022 later. Obviously it mean that there'll be more waiting for anyone else who've been looking forward to it, and I have no much to say other than good luck to age in regard of polishing the VN. As for newest JAST's release, it's Takahiro's (Majikoi writer for the reminder) newest work with the name 'Feast of Kurokami-sama' with the premise a mangaka (Doumaru) that was forced to hunt youkai by the titular Kurokami-sama, and said Kurokami herself is quite whimsical in which she can punish Doumaru with death if he do some mistakes. For more info, it's already ready for the release on Steam at 21st later with the English and Chinese languages are available. Other than the release date, it should be noted that Kurokami here is all age VN so don't expect the sex scenes, and in case you interested you can try the trial that has been available on Steam.
As for fan translation update, for the first week 2022 here we have Harugi was at 45% edited, Onee-chan no Yuuwaku was at 90% translated and TLC-ed, Shin Koihime Musou was at 52% edited, Taimanin Kurenai was at 65% edited, Yoshitsune's route of Majikoi A-5 has 10 scripts worked on, Senmomo was at 23.67% edited with Chapter 2 was at 14.94% edited, Chaos Head Noah was at 20.92% TLC-ed, and both of Meiko's and Legend routes of Snow was already at above 30% translated (No idea whether the progress was share equally between two routes or one route has more progress compared to the other). Almost forgot to mention that Novectale decided to break the contract with Sekai in regard of Narkarma, and then they decided to develop the VN by themselves after they face several issues in the past. Good luck to Novectale there, and at least Sekai's backlog was decreased again even though it's not because of the release.
For Hello Lady exact release date, according to Steam store it'll be at 21st later. While Nekonyan here didn't directly announce the release date for 18+ version yet, it should goes without saying that Nekonyan will release that version alongside Steam version if we remember their usual pattern. Anyway in case you've been waiting for Hello Lady release, you can note the date. For the aforementioned Mashimaro (Full title Ouchi ni Kaeru made ga Mashimaro Desu with the translated title 'Marshmallow All the Ways Home'), it's Marmalade VN that was released at 2017 between Primal Heart 2 and Study Steady. In Mashimaro here we'll have the MC who basically kicked out from the house and he only manage to get a place to sleep thanks to a patisserie's owner (Kanon), and in order to repay the kindness the MC decided to do his best to reinvigorate Kanon's patisserie that has been declining thanks to the famous competitor nearby. Oh yes, as for the release date it'll be at 7th later and as usual it's only available at Johren later.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
