They might just be misleading, though. The main problem I see with this statement is that it's hidden on a comparatively obscure tumblr response, when news of the doki team completely throwing out the baka-tsuki translation should have been front and center from the start. It's possible this is just PR incompetence, or that it was a recent decision made by the doki team. The opacity of the whole process that doki's been maintaining all along really isn't helping...

I vote for all emoticons from mare skin as I'll use them anyway... but I guess the random stuff like shinmea and feito 3x emoticons + over 9000 faces of characters I don't care about aren't really needed. is obligatory, I still like MareWish (though I got it as my icon, so I can't complain too much - I saw you made a new mare one though so there's that ). Other than that Doge, Ackbar and the heart are the only ones I really care about; maybe cirno. I would personally consider gifs being force-changed to go under a blanket "don't be a dick" rule, given how annoying it is - this isn't really power abuse. The mario posted is annoying as fuck. There are a few people (one?) who have very subtly animated signatures, which could be an exception. There's this other guy who also has a signature with a lot of movement, and yes I would like to see this removed as well. I have a weakness for the intelligent-sarcastic protagonist, as it's somewhat close to my own outlook. I'm like twenty minutes into Sharin and I love Kenichi already, so more of a trickster thing is cool as well. If taken far enough the perverted protagonist can be amazingly lulz (cf. Cocoro@Function, though it's possible the livetl dramatization made it that much better.) I get uncomfortable when I see super-innocent protagonists. In general though, a protagonist gets better the more interesting they are as a character in general, whatever their type or whatever is.

There are different releases of the vn, just check vndb. No idea if they are different in any substantial way, of course... My extraction method consisted of exploring the vast crevasses of the BGM directory and ingeniously changing the extension of all the files from .bgm to .wav (this can be done most handily using the command prompt.) The Song folder stuff is more interesting.

It's probably /possible/, but in that case it's not in any of the BGM files and you;d need to check out actual tools and stuff. I think. I should probably check the actual 38 files there are... ....yeah, the unofficial post thingy has all 38. I suppose the other thing would be to check the Song stuff, and possibly play voices to see if it's some bastardization of playing a voice or sfx file over the tune... ...or the version of SR you're using is different than the one I used I guess. I can't remember said song.

you tried re-downloading? A drastic measure for sure, but I wonder. Otherwise I have no clue. You might have activated some exotic flag to use an equalizer or whatever for the sound in the executable's properties/volume mixer, stranger things have happened. Occasionally. Try reducing the voice volume a bit and see if that helps. Otherwise though, not sure what would cause it. What OS are you on?

WHy not use a youtube downloader thing yourself? at least in firefox, that kind of thing is very easy to find in plugin form.

I'd download the videos from drive or w/e if you uploaded them, would probably get better quality from that too (especially if you saved local copies and didn't just stream to begin with, but a youtube re-encode does bad things as well).
