Dude you're way too fast! My edits weren't ninja enough.

I need my fix of AI waifu. Looking forward to this. As for Analogue, I really enjoyed it. It's not a masterpiece, but I found the story pretty interesting and Hyun-ae's backstory very disturbing. As far as I know this one will be focusing on Mute's backstory, which is good because I've wanted to know a bit more about her circumstances.

Well the first one had an Engilsh version, so I'm guessing this might get localized as well. It's just going to take a few years. For me personally, KnS3 can't come soon enough.

Just finished Kara no Shoujo 2, with the true ending. My god. Just... wow. I didn't expect it to surpass the original, but it actually did. Extremely pleased with this sequel.

VNs with legit Tsundere and/or Yandere characters
garejei replied to DatYandereGirl's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The UBW (Rin) route of Fate/stay Night is a pretty obvious tsundere route. Doesn't School Days have yandere? Never read the VN but if it's anything like the anime then some of the bad ends should be yandere-heavy. -
Hey there, welcome to the forums. Any favorite VNs among the ones you've read? Aside from Ikusa Megami Zero, I mean.

I can kinda see where you're coming from. The only recent anime that really remains in me as a strong memory is Fate/zero. Psycho Pass was overall great but lots of wasted potential in it. The 2005-2009 era was my major anime watching phase so I'm probably biased about shows that came out around that time: Aria, Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, Baccano, Death Note, FMA Brohood, Darker than Black, 12 Kingdoms, Kaiji, Black Lagoon, just to name a few. Even stuff like Ergo Proxy, even though it was not that amazing in the end. However, I realize this is completely subjective and I'm most likely just being overly nostalgic. I've also noticed a flood of moe anime nowadays. Not a huge fan of that. And I miss the times when most shows were 26 episodes with plenty of time to build a story + character development. Oh, a fellow Kaiji fan. Cool. Let's have sex. Now.

Went back to Kara no Shoujo 2 after a bit of a hiatus. Following a walkthrough and I already got a number of bad ends. I think I might be nearing the end of my first playthrough, after which it will probably be just a skip-fest to see the extra scenes and the true end. But damn this game is insanely long. Much, much longer than the first one. If it ever gets localized I can foresee a number of people saying it's too boring compared to the first one. I do enjoy it, though, it definitely has the feel of being a different title, but in the end it's still very much KnS in spirit. Although they seriously toned down the gore and violence, maybe they wanted to appeal to a wider audience or something. The killings aren't even shown anymore. So no nightmare-inducing Glasgow grins in this one.

Hey there, welcome to the forums. Out of curiosity, which manga TL were/are you involved in?

I was a bit surprised by the concept of "hating on iso" as it's really the easiest thing in the world and usually doesn't take much time. Plus I prefer the clean install/uninstall of an iso release. I do however understand that there are people who aren't especially PC savvy, for them a pre-installed version works fine. There's something for everyone I guess.

My thoughts and impressions about fuwanovel until now
garejei replied to Kaguya's topic in Members' Lounge
This place was a pleasant surprise, as in my mind I associated the VN community -much like the anime fansubber community- with a bunch of elitist jerks. People here have been very nice and welcoming. -
Welcome to the forums Naomi, nice to have you here.

Fate route in FSN. The sexism was bothering me, Saber is an insanely bland heroine IMO and the whole thing was just painfully boring to read. UBW made up for it, but still... Afterwards I tried reading the HF route as well but dropped it halfway through due to boredom. I guess Type Moon stuff is just really not my thing. Ironically, I thought Fate/zero was awesome, turns out it wasn't written by Nasu. Surprise surprise.

Yeah, no need for the keigo and the formality, I'm not your boss. =P 書く能力は練習次第だよ。 とにかく僕は、あまり特別な企画がないので、夏をどう過ごしていいかまだ分からない。絶対見に行きたい映画があるけど。(パシフィックリム!! トレーラーがかっこよかったんだから)

Games and VNs are amazing supplements, but they are not for beginners. Still, they're a fun way of learning new vocab and idioms and increasing your reading speed/comprehension. I strongly recommend them once you feel you're up to it. Same goes for penpals. You should basically find a penpal if you want to use what you already know. I used Interpals myself and got some great practice out of talking to some Japanese people I met there. It's an extremely good way of seeing how Japanese is actually used by natives. Give it a shot once you're confident enough in your written skills. Oh and no need to be shy, just find a person with similar interests and proceed to geek out. Hell I met a Japanese girl who was hardcore into the same games I myself am a fan of (Tales series, Persona 3-4, etc.) so we had stuff to talk about right off the bat. It's a way to talk to cool people and practice at the same time. Oh and picking out lines/scenes in a VN to illustrate something could be interesting, I can see it working to a certain extent. But then comes the hassle of finding a good VN and good dialogue that is actually useful in illustrating a certain piece of grammar, and not just random fluff. If I ever did something like this, I wouldn't make a video, though. Just screenshots + written commentary. That should be more than enough.

What are you listening to right now?

http://vndb.org/v10293 It's not as over-the-top and wtf as Dustmania (I was foolish enough to google for screenshots), but it's fairly messed up nonetheless.
-
Oh, there's worse things in VNs than scat. Extreme guro coupled with cannibalism was among the worst I've seen. (don't get me wrong, I'm not actually into shit like that. But you get curious sometimes. Needless to say I'll not venture into that direction ever again.) As for me - I'm not a huge fan of H scenes in general. Not the porn itself but the writing.
-
I'm confident that Ichijou's route in Muramasa would make for one hell of an anime adaptation, if attempted. Also, Saya no Uta would be nice but it's very doubtful.
-
You could just watch Saya no Uta on Youtube, I'm pretty sure some guy uploaded a full playthrough minus the porn. The act of sex itself is essential to the story for spoilerific reasons, but the actual H-scenes are skippable. I skipped them myself. You don't really need to actually see the dude bang the Cthulhu-loli in order to be able to understand its importance in the end.

Probably one of the best things ever. -
Maybe Narcissu. I got nothing.
-
So here's mine, I guess. Oh and those of you who aren't shy can add me on their friends list and such, I really don't mind. I haven't played anything on Steam in a while, but if I can find the time for it I might be up for some SF4AE matches and such*. (I'm rusty as hell, though, having not played in over a year, maybe more...) *Oh, and Chivalry as well. Absolutely.

Do you prefer Japanese or English voice acting?
garejei replied to Pedeadstrian's topic in Visual Novel Talk
1) JP voice, JP text. 2) As long as it's good, I have no preference. But it has to be good. 3) I usually find that JP actors do a better job. I'm not being a purist or anything (if an English dub is genuinely good, I'll fully acknowledge it), but that's just how I feel most of the time. -
