  1. I really want to say this is Gantz. Is this Gantz? HNNNNNNNNGGGG
  2. Huh, why's that? AFAIK, other than NGNL, YenPress has been providing very solid translations so far (on the LN side of things, don't really read manga). Putting aside the release pace, I'd say YenPress is doing a great job so I'm curious as to why you would have a bad impression of them. "Solid" is a very relative term. Having read most of the fan-TL's and then comparing them to YP's, I can say that I enjoyed the fan's better. Honestly, this screams of entitlement. I've learned to avoid probable pickups. Usually anything published before 2010 wont get picked up. Your problem is going for the mainstream titles. As for Overlord, depending on the following, you might get an unofficial TL that breaks copyright, but it's almost guaranteed to not be quality and will probably be MTL.
  3. At least you smile at all. I am now curious about that eye ejaculate. Where does it's propulsion come from. Can I use it to power my spaceship? We might now be close enough for me to say "Ello"
  4. I don't know how to operate girls. Someone halp! Confession: I had a clique in high school that consisted of 4 boys and 2 girls, with an occasional addon of a single girl. One of the girls was in a relationship with my friend, while the other one somehow had a phrase with walrus attached to her.
  5. Confession: I'm waiting for the critical build failure when the relationship goes sour and they both leave Fuwa. Statistics are on my side, I just need to roll the dice enough.
  6. It got licensed by Yen Press, but YP did garbage translating it, so people got pissed. It's basically going to turn into a situation of publisher neglect and fans won't buy it and translators can't translate it because of copyright. We end up with another dead series. Same exact thing happened with Hidan no Aria, except Baka-Tsuki has a translation reinstating clause so it got reverted. Now there is a small hope that it gets picked back up. Basically NGNL died the moment YP licensed it and the next fan translated volume possible under BT is probably going to be 8, leaving a volume gap. TL;DR: RIP NGNL. Go to any blogger's website directly and you can comment dive to read more about what happened.
  7. Basic things to always try and give information about: Have you tried refreshing the account page. DO NOT REFRESH THE PAY CONFIRMATION PAGE. What browser are you using? Have you tried using a different browser? Are cookies enabled? Is java script enabled? Have you tried restarting your entire browser (ie not just closing the tab, but the entire thing, such that it isn't an active process.) Have you tried rebooting. Others: what operating system are you using?
  8. Well, hentai in the english community refers to anime with sex. Although hentai just means pervert in Japanese. Is there a hentai VN? Aren't they just nukige? Oh ya, quick question, what is considered moege? Galette's products counted? Did a quick search, I'm surprised tag 'moege' in vndb is deleted, explains why never saw one. Hentai in the english community most commonly refers to hentai doujins, of which there are thousands of times more of. See http://g.e-hentai.org/ for more.
  9. *notices they are all anime* Abyssal Monkey runs away! Abyssal Monkey fled!
  10. Confession: I feel like liking every single damn firecat post just to see what happens. Does this count as harassment? I honestly want to see if fake internet reputation given with sarcasm goes to his head. Call it a social experiment.
  11. I admire this attitude Ren. Keep it up.
  12. Because we're dumb enough to argue with firecat when he can't understand what we're saying. The only reason I don't create a script to hide firecat and Okami's posts is because reading them fills me with a great sense of narcissism and superiority in knowing that there are people with an incredibly low level of intelligence. Truly it makes me feel like Gilgamesh. Enjoying the mongrels' problems.
  13. It gets high praise because it's a deconstruction of RPGs and uses that to create a relatively new experience which some people have found depth in. All the mechanics and graphics are nothing new, yes, but the way it uses them are. I haven't played it yet, but seeing the first 20 minutes really does show how it is different from the typical RPG.
  14. Single player MMO from what I've seen. :/ No thanks.
  15. The only one would be Sakura Clicker. VNs aren't gaems. Off topic: I'm sorry Ren. Having read the books and seen the anime, how the hell did you come to this conclusion. I blame the fandom for this warping of viewpoints. Please cite specifics. For now I'll throw you in the camp of "males can't have female friends".
  16. Upload speed is really only necessary for seeding torrents, but it might play a factor in actually downloading too. I still have scrub internet connection. That's going to change in about 4 weeks come school going on break. I'm going to bother my parents and have them bump up internet with me subsidizing it. Looking for a 100/20. When I actually find a job next year (because I'm a lazybastard) I'll be bumping it to 1GB/250 lel.
  17. >Music Not the genre I'm most familiar with. So I had to sit out on recommendations for this one
  18. Should be center and on the east coast based on the server location.
  19. Lol... That upload speed. No seed box for you. Also, I would worry a bit about downloads. Usually they say to get a 10/1 d/u relation and you are clearly well below that. Could very well be that your download is being gimped by low upload and you are getting a lower download because of it.
  20. I can enjoy bad writing. All that matters to me is that they tell a good story. If you do it with passable language I'll still enjoy it. I don't need honeyed words to get me hard. Keep plot inconsistency to a minimum and somehow justify what happens, and I'll likely accept a deus ex machina. Speaking of good stories, The Lazy King has started TL again. First arc was wierd at the start, but once you get used to the narrative style, it becomes really fun. The hype is real for this arc.
  21. Most people make the cut off at end of November, and include the previous year's December in the "year". Silly, but that's what societal norms dictate.
  22. I'm voting Pillars. I haven't had this much fun playing a game in a really long time.
  23. Louise is just extremely polarizing. You either like her or you absolutely hate her. If you can get past that obstacle, the story itself is an epic romance that goes through quite a many of the paces of a monomyth, with several miniature cycles included. It's just really frustrating to not have the last two volumes worth of story released. To make an apt comparison, the story got cut off in the middle of Odysseus's return, and we don't get to see him slay the suitors.
  24. I cringe even thinking about watching this show. Light novels are fine in the fact that any ecchi-fanservice style scenes are fairly short, but seeing what they did to the manga, I really don't want to know what they did to the anime. Light novels are fairly easy to tell when volume arcs end, so how many episodes was the first arc?
