  1. Rakudai is one of the few modern takes on romance and doesn't have a harem. I'd say it's kind of worth checking out, but note that the romance develops incredibly slowly, and due to it being a promo for the light novel you aren't going to get much payoff. On the other hand, as an action series, I find the animation quite stellar. It doesn't have much in the area of comedy though. Also, what is Rakusen Oh whoops, meant Gakusen as inGakusen Toshi Asterisk. Don't really like the idea of an anime as a promo for a light novel so I may not check Rakudai out...I may give the first episode a try though. Well that's what most LN adaptations are, and due to the sheer nature, you are never going to get a payoff. Personally, my opinion about Asterisk is that it's a hilarious study into how to highlight tropes entirely wrong. Compared to the book which pads things out with thoughts and other details, the anime puts front and center all the tropes that Asterisk uses, and it's entirely worse for it. I decided to drop it because I can't deal with it anymore. That and I hate the animation quality. If you want my current opinion on Action/Comedy/Romance in anime currently: There is none. All of them are either promos for the original printed work, or have terrible qualities. Not a single one has been finished as far as I can tell either. That's just on the action adventure front though. I haven't paid much attention to the romantic comedy areas, or the dramatic romance. Those normally get picked up 2-3 years down the line when I scrapping the bottom of the barrel. In terms of my opinion on quality, Rakudai is currently doing the best, but you won't get much romance out of it.
  2. Guys, you missed the best part, Square Enix is going to milk you for all your cash. Final Fantasy Remake will be a multi part series I love you square. Please never change. Please continue to hype up then utterly raze your fanbase time and time again. I will never stop enjoying the utter shitstorms you will randomly encounter.

  4. Another episode of Rakudai. Another 20 minutes well spent on research of what quality animation is looking like. Seriously, I look forward to Rakudai every week, if not only, for the excellent animation work Silver Link does. They have proven to me that, at least recently, when they put in the work, they can create amazing action sequences. I'm going to have to skim their other recent releases for the sequences, but at least with Prisma Illya and Rakudai, the animation is excellent. Don't ask for commentary on the episode, I got nothing so far. It was just a single 15 minute exercise in well coordinated combat sequences. Fucking 10/10. I mean I guess there was a bit of Shizuku development and a bit of a twist at the end, but that doesn't matter much after watching the fight and having my eyes bleed.
  5. Perspective shifts, and yet I stay eternal. I wonder how hard it would be to even get tried for statutory rape
  6. Sounds like a setup for incest VN. This one is most likely. Too many sisters I am a girl!! >.< Doesn't mean you can't be a heroine in a "Romancing a Family" VN.

  8. I would love those type of series but I can't get past the fact that rape and ntr are morally wrong to me. *snicker* Morals? *snicker* You really have those? Your name is VirginSmasher. That alone belies any morals you have. If I honestly had to pick a vanilla hentai, it would probably be Yuuki Homura's Pipiruma! (obviously NSFW)
  9. This story is a LONG one. The pacing is really slow after the first two volumes. It's still a fun read, but holy crap does it slow down. That's really the biggest problem I have with the series. Also, Eris is best bitch. heh Yep it should definitely be a bit faster but other than that it's progressing pretty well. The last 5-6 days I have been primarily only reading Mushoku Tensei and just now finished volume 8. I do miss the illustrations that stopped after vol 7, but still it's good enough. Though after having blazed through it a bit too fast I'll probably taking a break from it for a week or so now. Lol, I have a fun story about this one actually. It was two summers ago or something. Anyway, I read the series for 3 days straight only stopping for bodily necessities. Due to the autobiographical nature of the series, my dreams were filled with the lore and happenings of it. It was really, really, really weird. I have the distinct memory of feeling like I was aging at an incredible pace.
  10. Phantom World and Gate are shoe-ins unless phantom turns out terrible. I see lots of light novels this season and novels as well. Novels usually turn out well, so I'll be hitting them while I feed my obsession of light novels. Active Raid being only one of two originals this season is somewhat depressing. I tend to enjoy original series if not only for the zaniness that they usually come with due to being written for viewing format. No movies that seem interesting. Though when I see the 1 next to Kizumonogatari I want to rip out my hair. When will I finally be able to bury all the monogatari fans once they die of depression due to the series ending? I don't want to see them again As usual, this season is filed with hopefuls and will probably end up average.
  11. Looks at my 980 Ti @1500MHz... One thing to be aware of with that card though, and I think I said it in chat to someone else, is that when you push it to extreme levels, its performance may actually decrease. You actually only have 3.5gb + .5gb of memory instead of the advertised 4gb. When you hit the 3.5gb vram limit, the card may experience slowdowns. It will probably never impact you, but it is still something to take note of.

  13. Gimme by the end of the day. I'm at college right now...
  14. Clearly never seen Supernatural.
  15. I fail to see how that is functionally different than mobile data. As for why they block it, it's because the school doesn't have a dormitory, so they can block anything that isn't strictly school related including most games. It really has nothing to do with being adults, it's simply because they don't want it being accessed in "a learning environment" or some shit like that.
  16. When I was in college, Fakku, Exhentai, and Doujin-Moe were in my tabs all the time, and when people ask me what those sites are, I was like, "it's for educational purposes". Today, I still have those tabs all the freaking time. My college blocks them anyway, so attempting to access them flags your account. More of a reason why I do it is because then you have to deal with the PITA administration. I would totally do it if they didn't block it though. I had them on my laptop when I still used it, but because of chrome's wonderful resume feature of "tab doesn't load until you focus it", I never had to bother preventing them from connecting.
  17. If this one panned out, I would definitely aim to transform the relationship into a triangle.
  18. I don't touch hentai on college network. I have mobile data for a reason. Note carefully that this doesn't mean I don't read it at college though
  19. So another fun day in psychology. We were talking about depression and its treatments. Lo and behold ECT came up. The teacher played a 2 minute video of them performing the operation. I started audibly laughing during the video. The guy in class who oft defers to me when psychological issues come up as an example then asks me "what is so funny?" I replied in a magnanimous tone: "It is not often you see humanity at its worst. Think of all the wonderful occurrences that had to have happened in order for them to have developed this magnificent act of mercy! It's beautiful!" I don't understand how they can enjoy watching terrible things happen in fiction on TV, yet given the opportunity to see the real life equivalents the turn their noses. Hypocrites I say!
  20. First time I walked into a John K Peta doujin, the guy shoved his dick so deep it basically came out the mouth. I nope nope noped away from him since then. I like gore and body deformation, but for fuckings sake, at least make it somewhat realistic. It's hilarious for reading, but terrible for fapping. Rubber people is right.
  21. Lel, I remember that shit. I once turned in a paper that had ~20% plagarism even though it was entirely my own thoughts. When I went to the teacher and pointed it out, they were like "oh, uhhhh, yeah... there's probably no way you've ever read these sources." I was laughing really hard. The teacher waived the plagarism assessment for that assignment and had great doubts about it afterwards.
  22. Totally triple vn'ing at the moment, got tired of both TtT and Aselia after around two days of each continuously, so I put them down and picked up Cartagra like I said I would. only on the beginning of the third day so far, like 3 hours I guess? but this story is really fun. Kazune being really energetic with everything she does is somewhat fun, and Rin is just hilariously entertaining. So far Rin is top tier relationship material for me, if we are considering real life. Nana totally acts like me in every respect, and I would probably become fast friends with her. I was laughing at how she described the murders in her report. The best moment I had come across so far just happened with Rin on the third day. Seeing Kazune speechless and her face slowly change was incredible. I kind of really enjoyed how they force you to manually progress through those expressions, it's kind of like the main character was watching something in slow motion. A really great use of mechanics of the medium.
  23. Confession: I am the worst friend ever. I just supported my friend buying computer parts on sale with the justification that he can return it within 15 days, and that tomorrow we can talk about the decisions we just made tonight. He asked me to talk him out of it, and all I could come up with was "how much do you really want it?". The parts in question were a motherboard and the i7 4790k, which is the best upgrade he can get for his computer at the moment without buying entirely new parts. Knowing this, I couldn't come up with a good reason for him not to buy it when it is on sale. Moral of the story: only ask me to talk you out of something if I actually am against it, otherwise I'm more liable to support you instead.
  24. I'm more surprised that I understood about half of all these conversations due to context clues and my minimal understanding of overly common japanese phrases.
  25. Original. Most of the parodies are based off of shows that I could literally not care less about. Like NB said, originals favor more to my fetishes, if not only for the fact that I like a bit of story in my porn. You don't find stories in parodies due to the fact that they are riding on the background of knowing the source material. In originals you have to build the entire story in sometimes 18 pages. The good authors can manage to pull it off, and those ones are generally pretty good.
