Frontwing teases a big new project on twitter
Soulless Watcher replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
You know as long as I repress all of my concerns and personal grievances of Phantom Trigger being set in the "Grisiaia Universe" I actually can see this series working pretty well. I imagine the first couple of volumes will be pretty dull and the bog standard "military training" arc in which the characters will learn how to function as a cohesive unit, like the first season of RWBY and Muv Luv Unlimited. Things should pick up afterwards when the team is sent on actual missions, which hopefully will be worldwide. We could get some very MuvLuvesque social commentary on the role of developed nations in unstable countries and I'm sure some very interesting character building moments for our cast considering they are from various nationalities. Each volume could focus on a different part of the world with a different terrorist/rebel/criminal organization serving as an antagonist. -
Oh, with the successful releases of Beat Blades Haruka and Rance 6/5d, I can imagine that Mangagamer will work to release more titles from Alicesoft. God knows when Rance Quest specifically will be localized, my guess is after an official localization of Sengoku Rance.

I mean let's be honest with ourselves a true 10/10 visual novel doesn't exist, even if we make sure to factor in subjective tastes, I am confident that we can all point out various flaws in our favorite visual novels. A numerical system of rating is inherently flawed in that complex opinions can't be converted into a number without striping allot of the complex opinion of its' meaning. I would recommend that you revisit some of your ratings after you have read a dozen plus more visual novels. You currently have a relatively low amount of visual novels rated, so your ratings might be a bit skewed in certain ways. After expanding the amount of titles read you may look back and rate some visual novels differently.

We lost a point because we cited our sources using AAG style instead of APA style didn't we? Son of a bitch.

If we are going to rely on pheromones, you need to remember to ditch the deodorant. The underarms are one of the main areas of secretion of pheromones and deodorant will mask the sent.

Nearly halfway through a favorite of my sisters, Ouran High School Host Club. It's...... alright, I really like the characters but I feel like they are wasted on the stories presented in the series. It feels like the writer was aiming for something like Hayate the Combat Butler in terms of atmosphere and comedy, but lacks the skill and funnybone, so it comes across as kinda trite.

Is buying/playing a censored game worth it?
Soulless Watcher replied to Scasma's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I'm fine with a censored version in theory, as long as their a noticeable price reduction to the product. The company is essentially selling you an inferior version of their product and I have never seen a censored game in which the cut content is replaced with anything equal to the removed content. -
From Pakuyasa in women's underwear? You sick fuck. Anyone else kinda feel weird about the latest episode of Gabriel DropOut? Maybe it's just because I'm from the states, but I thought the Satania gun sketch would end with her getting arrested and the bald teacher being assigned as her probation officer.

Well it is one of those games in which you get to rename the protagonist, I kinda take that as an admission from the developers that they didn't even try.

It's all a marketing gimmick for companies to try and exploit you for cash anyways, in a sense being single and not doing anything special during valentines is like being part of a communist rebellion........ shut up I know I sound pathetic

Woke up today with a huge multicolored bruise on my inner thigh and for the life of me I have no idea where it came from. In my sleepy haze I thought it was dirt and spent five minutes trying to rub it off.

How would you introduce animes to your parents ?

It's a similar problem that YouTube has, both platforms desperately want everything to be moderated for free and they keep trying to shove that work onto the customer/watcher. Honestly, you would think that both are being run by libertarians.

Now that I had time to think about it, I can't see this working at all unless the price was at the very least a couple thousand dollars.

As a long time follower of Jim Sterling I am very happy that steam greenlight is closing shop, seriously it turned steam into a massive fucking shit pile. As for the indie visual novel market, perhaps nutaku would be a alternative? I'm not too familiar with how hard it is to get on their storefront, but there are several low budget titles available on their website.

I totally get you, I was never close to my grandmother on my father's side and pretty much never saw her until two thirds of my life had past. My siblings and my dad would visit her once in a blue moon and she seemed decent, except I could never understand a fucking word she said because her first language was Korean and she barely could speak English. Which stressed both of us out, since neither of us could understand what the other was saying. I learned later on that she wasn't the most stable person, she came from a life of poverty and my biological grandfather just kinda swooped in, knocked her up, than left. So, she had to raise my dad and his brother by herself, which if the drunken ramblings of my father are to be believed, involved screaming, bamboo beatings, and harsh punishments for trying to get a part time job to help feed the family. I did gather that recently, until she had a stroke which prevented her from moving very well, she would beat her and my er - (is step-grandpa a term? well anyways my dad's stepfathers') dogs and she still had a habit of screaming. Oh and apparently the reason I never saw her before my teenage years was because she was against my dad marrying a non-korean, so that was nice. Although she apparently did visit us a handful of times when I was super young and tried to make me take a bath in near boiling water, while my Mother wasn't paying attention. I still make the effort to tag along with the fam whenever they go to say hello at the retirement home she now resides at. I still don't really understand her and I don't think we could have ever been close, but she knows she doesn't have very much life to live and seeing her grandchildren is one of her few pleasures left. As much as I talk shit about not caring about other people, seeing the complex look of happiness and sadness on her face (since she doesn't know if this will be the last time she will see my family before she kicks the bucket) is quite gut wrenching........ although I wish she would stop complaining about my hair.

Any updates on 3rdEye Visual novels?
Soulless Watcher replied to SenpaiJanz's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well Sorcery Jokes is being translated by Mangagamer and is halfway translated and edited, so you could probably expect it near the end of this year if you are lucky. There seems to be no current unofficial patches in the works for any other games, so it is doubtful that there will be anytime soon. It is likely, the best you can hope for is that Mangagamer picks up another 3rd Eye title in a year or two (if lucky). -
That was probably part of the 20% of the dark web that Anonymous shut down.

That awkward moment when you are just casually heading to the bathroom of the dorm and hear some very loud sex noises coming from one of the rooms. I genuinely couldn't tell if it was just porn or the actual article, but dear god did it sound wet.

helph with making sense of SG0 choices
Soulless Watcher replied to castor212's topic in Visual Novel Talk
It's certainly more convoluted and messy then the original steins;gate and I can't really tell you exactly how each trigger effects the timeline, I imagine they might be going with the "blue butterfly" excuse for this one. -
Playing VNs in window vs fullscreen?
Soulless Watcher replied to PhleBuster's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I usually play VNs in windowed mode because I have a short attention span and tend to cycle between different programs on my laptop every few minutes.
