  1. You can use a debut card if you don't have a credit card though, can't you? I just use my checking account card whenever I have to use a "credit card"
  2. With the amount of nukige they write it is no surprise they might have a few questionable translators and editors.
  3. Not all of their games. NTY!!! Was really well written, IMO. Their translations had no glaring errors and didn't feel stiff at all.
  4. I actually have a friend who plays League of Legends with me and unless I send her a champion with RP and force her to play them for me she will only play cute female characters. She will only play games where she can be cute female characters. Pretty sure that she considers it a genre all on it's own and that it is the most relevant tag for her. Also note that Huniepop and Sakura Spirit are tagged 'nudity' obviously some people search for these things in a game.
  5. So mad that I missed this bundle even though I think I already had half of the games in it. In fact I've bought LLtQ twice now
  6. Agarest actually got deleted from vndb with the reason cited "Not a VN"
  7. I totally forgot about Eden*. I got it from MG and I have the steam key for it but I haven't redeemed it yet.
  8. Watch me fail next week, but it sounds liek a really interactive contest, I'm in!
  9. It's a gaming platform where people can buy games, art programs, game development programs, etc and connect with friends and collect achievements. Dota 2, Don't Starve Together, a lot of MMORPGs like Tera, Raganok, the Final Fantasy games are on it or are set to be released on it. Some English translations of Visual Novels have made it to this platform as well
  10. The flow of the words is probably one of the most important parts of a visual novel for me so I definitely second an effort to raise awareness on these kinds of things.
  11. Fiddle, Analogue is like the first or second game on the second page I believe so not far from the top 10, definitely in the top 15. It ranks higher than Hatoful Boyfriend iirc. Also I've been told that chest bounciness isn't even noticeable.
  12. I actually have Littlewitch Romanseque bookmarked to buy later because littlewitch art + raising sim is a definite must. I didn't realize that Sunrider Academy was a fandisk though. I just saw that it got some positive reviews and was recommended for me. I didn't think it was really Huniepop related but I have a bad tendency to impulse buy steam games and then realize they are totally not what I thought they were. I think that is part of the reason I've been posting in Fuwanovel's forums and the VisualNovel sibreddit more lately because now that I'm older and I can more easily acquire games I really want to take a better look at what's coming out and what I'm actually buying.
  13. Texas y u do dis? I've bought Don't Starve Together like 8 times... But you don't need 8 copies of Nekopara at once to play with friends (or yourself).
  14. I wonder how Neptuna even got the VN tag to begin with :/ is it possible to get Steam to change their tags to begin with. I have almost 100% completion when it comes to LLtQ achievements (and I already contacted Hanako about getting the hard copy of the game) but I haven't played a lot of the other games I own on Steam. I own Actual Sunlight, Go! Go! Nippon, Hatoful BF, Heileen 1 & 2, HuniePop, Journal, Leviathan, LLtQ, Magical Diary, Monster Loves You (if that even counts), Nicole, Oblivious Garden, Sakura Spirit, Shan Gui, Without Within, and X-Note. I got a few of them from Humblebundle/Indiegala. I've only opened 10 of these games before, completely finished 3 and then finished at least 1 path of 2 more.
  15. I was just browsing Steam today and realized I owned 4 of the top 10 'Top Sellers' on their Visual Novel tag. The current 'top 10' is HERE but for future reference the current list is: 1) HuniePop 2) Long Live the Queen 3) Hyperdimension Neptuna Re;Birth 1 4) Oblivious Garen ~Carmina Burana 5) Nekopara Vol. 1 6) The Yawhg 7) Sakura Spirit Agarest: Generations of War 9) Sunrider Academy 10) Tokyo School Life I actually own 4 of these 10 myself. Much to my embarrassment, I have Huniepop, LLtQ, Oblivious Garden, and Sakura Spirit. Hyperdimension didn't actually look like a VN to me I thought it was just your average RPG game, same with Agarest. I'd be tempted to buy Sunrider and Tokyo School Life but knowing me, they're probably like Huniepop 5 and Sakura School Life and I'm just too blind to tell. I actually really liked LLtQ, it's one of my favorite games even though it's more of a Raising Sim than a classic Visual Novel. As for the rest of the list I don't even know what to say about it. Pretty sure most of these either shouldn't be under the tag (3 & 8 and probably 1/2) or are rather frowned upon even if they are "popular" (5 & 7). Surprised that titles like Eden* or Planetarian don't start showing up until #15. I have both of Cheritz's VNs on Steam on my WL right now (Nameless and Dandelion) and I might pick one up (they looked to be a few of the best titles from Steam's VN tag). Do any of you guys have Steam VNs in your library? I'm curious to hear what you are playing/have played from Steam's selection.
  16. I haven't actually played it yet. I was in the middle of a couple of other games at the time. I'm going to go with no though because steam doesn't actually allow real nudity in their games? Maybe some boobs? idk. I also ended up with Huniepop thinking it was some cute bejeweled otome game and then realizing it was really just 'match three for CG of a chick in your bed'. I can't think of any other games in my Steam library that could have nudity in them though unless someone is going to try to tell me that Don't Starve and Democracy 3 are full of hidden pronz that nobody told me about.
  17. So you think Little Busters would come out to around 35 then? I know that a normal DVD with a booklet in its case is about .8 pounds but I don't know how VNs match up to them.
  18. Will shamelessly admit that I thought Huniepop was gonna be a cute bejeweled otome game. I bought it the second it was released and then was thoroughly disappointed.
  19. Mangagamer has stated that before late 2013/early 2014 they didn't really have a huge consumer base of anything but guys who bought nukige. Their requested titles included a whole hell of a lot of nukige aimed at hetero males. With No, Thank You!!! (Which while eroge heavy is NOT a nukige it actually has a really nicely developed plot that weaves itself through all 4 stories between all the h-scenes) and soon Ozmafia they are still trying to branch out but since before those requests they didn't have a huge basis to make VNs that weren't nukige it isn't a surprise that most of what they made and most of what they sold was in fact a bunch of bad sex games. I'm just hoping that with what Mangagamer is pushing towards at the moment that this year will be different. Mangagamer specifically stated that all they wanted was for their bl/otome titles to do as well as their nukige and they'll continue making them. They already have a decent wish list for both genres and with how NTY!!! Has been doing and they hype that Ozmafia has been getting I think they will start to bring more variety into their catalog.
  20. GG this is what I get for reading Steam reviews instead of going to the VN communities before buying a game. I actually bought Sakura Spirits last time it was on sale and then put Sakura Angels on my wishlist. I was wondering why "nudity" suddenly became a recommended Steam rag for me...between Huniepop and Sakura Spirits I should really stop buying games before I realize what the hell they are. #prettyartOP On a side not I love how Don't Starve Together made it so high on the list even though it was released in mid December... It's not like I bought the game for 7 friends and we all played 40 hours of it in 2 weeks or anything.
  21. How expensive is shipping to the US normally, just for reference?
  22. Man why do I gotta be the one to bring in the Yaoi? DRAMAtical Murder's True Ending. Worst ending in the entire game. It was a great game, imo. The art was nicely done, the characters well developed, and the way the routes pushed together for one cohesive ending (because you don't understand the ending of the story until you play them all but every ending the game makes a little more sense) was spectacular. Then they pulled this bull As for 'bad endings' I actually really enjoyed most of the bad endings in DMMd. In fact the first ending I got was Noiz's bad end and I thought it was supposed to be the good end. It made me happy...then I realized it was the bad end and I felt bad for liking it :C
  23. I actually really enjoy the Dangan Ronpa series. I got into it through a friend. I really liked gore at the time (Final Destination always has and always will be my favorite set of movies) and she started talking to me about this game with a demonic teddy bear and pepto bismol blood. I tried it out because at the time most of the VNs I played were through Ren'py and the game sounded really cool. Looking back a lot of the art in the first game sucks, but the characters were really interesting. The first killer in both series were very entertaining, I enjoyed their thematic uses of trial deaths. The actual trial game play was fun. It's not a visual novel in the sense that most are, it reads a lot like a point & click mystery game. It's part P&C, part VN, part RPG--it's a lot like the Zero Escape games (999) but it's more kinetic. I feel like it overlaps with the visual novel genre but since it's not a dedicated VN it's not going to have an appeal to a lot of VN players. I also believe that its focus on depressing/despair driven endings (the Japanese VN word for it starts with a U but I don't remember what it is called) is also something that drives a lot of people away. I however absolutely adored Komaeda and Kuzuryuu and so I definitely want to see what happens to them in the 3rd game.
