*points to VNDB I loved it, but that's a HUGE bias on my part. The steampunk series is a rather divisive one. Also, would you kindly critique it? My teacher said my problem here is how it lacks coherence, so it'll just go on forever. But other than that, I'm not exactly sure how to improve on it.

When I'm bored, I just randomly picture scenes. One scene coming in my mind was a man dying and searching for something in complete darkness, and him simply giving in. I also had an idea of a story way back when involving a dying man trying to find a way to forget things. I just finished reading Sharnoth, and was reading AiW, so they all connected to create this. While writing, I was thinking, "I need more characters, who should it be?" So I picked well-known characters and pushed them in here. On another note, I was thinking of rewriting it from the different perspectives then compiling it to one story. What do you think of the idea?

Well, most of what's after will be straight answers, as I can't think of any hints now. It was fun. I know that line isn't related to Umineko, I was talking about the line that was above it. That is, if the last words you were referring to were the last words of that chapter specifically. Because I'm fairly certain you had said that they were in reference to Umineko, of which I've only just began reading. That, and the set of words that had started out with When The Seagulls Cry (Which is all I remember at the moment, thank God) sound an awful lot like they'd be a spoiler of some kind, seeing as how they were presented. Sorry, I was referring to Sharnoth's last lines. For clarity's sake, everyone in the story 'denied tomorrow'. If you're curious about the lines, "For when the seagulls cry, none will be left alive," it's just states that. In Umineko, it's just a line used when all of the characters die. In here, it is uttered to show that they all no longer have a tomorrow yet still exist. Well, I'm fairly certain that, dependant on if it were to be taken literally and in a fictional setting, you would, quite literally, cease to exist. At least in a setting in which logic like that were to be possible, like your story, for example. Other than that, I'm unsure.

Interpretations are fun. Well, for me at least. So I'll give hints.

Finished Torta's route. I loved it. It had everything I loved about the previous routes and made it better.The somber atmosphere was now even more somber, and Torta's an amazing character. I liked her songs a lot too. The cliffhanger tho... On to Al Fine. High expectations.

Took me about 3 weeks with a bunch of stuff to do. Oh, and please don't derail. ^^

You'll be able to read it unspoiled, so don't worry. Also, that game mechanic is just to see the tips on how they were when alive or dead for the particular episode.

Vidocq's theory of Proactive Policing, I mean. And Vidocq is considered as the world's first private detective. It's really just a way for her to feel safe. Overall, it has no large impact in my story at least. If you're wondering about Mary's running, it's running away from Eldritch Abominations. For the "Unknown Man", it's because of the line in the bottle which is, "When the Seagulls cry, none will be left alive." And yes, it's an Umineko reference. The end is here.

Also, yes I've heard of the quote, though from Clannad not the book. I actually thought of the quote for some reason though when I was reading the The Dandelion Girl chapter. Not sure why. Well, there's still the ending I have to edit. After which I -might- answer the rest of your questions. Regarding Vidocq, this story is heavily inspired by Shikkoku no Sharnoth, so the name is a reference to Mary's thoughts. Mary has several scenes where she runs from something, and she's thinks something like, "Remembering Lord Vidocq's theory, she runs." That's it really.

Well, still on Torta's route, but I just need to let something out. SECRET (Torta's song) IS SO DAMN PRETTY. WHY IS IT SO DAMN PRETTY? WHYWHYWHYWHY? It's my favorite of the songs so far. I'll try not to do this again.

@Zodai Female, 20? Ehh, my current work's turning out badly so I want to re-work it from the ground up. I don't really take pride in my skills either. Here's a work of mine anyway. If someone likes it I don't mind posting the rest.

Finished Lise's route in Symphonic Rain. I liked it overall, but Grave's attitude was too ridiculous to take seriously. His sprites don't help in the slightest. The ending was a bit tacked on too. On a more positive note, Lycienne was really nice to listen to. On to Torta, I have high expectations.

Confession: I kinda wish I didn't need sleep. I feel like I could use the time spent on other things.
