  1. Any idea how old is this VN? Would help a bit to know if its made before or after 2006
  2. Just started watching Bakemonogatari and I am currently on episode 7. First 4 episodes went by and I have been just thinking what the hell is happening in this anime. Starting to get hang on it though. Art style is quite unique and a bit abstract, really fun to watch so far. Nisemonogatari comes after bakemonogatari right?

Thanks for sharing this with us Naomi, it really takes some balls to tell about these things. Life is not always easy, but I believe you can keep going on if you have right kind of people with you. Community here in fuwa is just awesome and supportive and I REALLY hope all the best for you in the future.
  4. Thanks for your effort. I will study about that thing bit more, but things look bad right now
  5. My current collection that I have bought as boxed copies. Will get more on my trip to China and Japan in near future. Anyone who knows China laws would be helpful and tell me China's stance on loli stuff from Japan. In example buying and bringing loli VN / manga etc.
  6. I am pretty sure you must complete unlimited also to get extras menus to show up.
  7. I would personally say that violence done right would be in Sharin no Kuni. There was some violence inside the story, but not enough to disturb anyone. I don't personally hate or dislike violence in games, but in VN I would say its different story than in example Max Pain.
  8. Thanks for sharing, will watch the whole video soon
  9. Tough choice. As mainstream as it is, I must say Muv Luv as a series (ML extra/unlimited/alternative/altered fable). Reason : There is very few VN that can do the same that Muv luv can. Right now I am reading the whole series 3rd time within a year and it still keeps my interest. Action is really well done, lots of drama, very memorable characters and awesome story with good voice acting. It is a VN that has main character who you can easily relate to and understand. Muv luv is also one of those games that really can make you happy or sad and both at same time. Truly a masterpiece in my mind.
  10. Let's see... I would say there is 3 types of translation types. Number 1 : Guy who don't know any/some japanese and uses google tranlatate or Atlas to translate the text. This would be called Machine translation. Number 2 : Guy who has basic or good understanding of japanese language, but doens't read kanji well enough and uses application to turn it into furigana, and translate the text with own skills + dictionary Number 3 : Guy who has good japanese skills and good understanding of the language and culture. Reads kanji well enough and doesn't need help from program to change it to furigana. Number 1 would be considered the worst kind of TL there is. VN community usually despises these kind of translator because the text is bad or the meaning has changed. Machine translation will never be as good as person translating the text and that is because how the Japanese language is. If you translate something with Machine translation, then keep it to yourself and never release patch. Number 2 is a bit hard to judge. Basically its considered half machine and some of the meaning in the text might change, because of lack of understanding of the language by the translator. I am one of those who uses this one, because my kanji understanding is still considered small. Number 3 is most likely a person who has lived in Japan or has really long history with language. Translation usually is accurate and meaning of text stays. Only problem is, that there are not so many "number 3s" who are in translation scene. I hope this answered some of your questions, and yes I would say it's required to have some experience of Japanese language to start translating anything. Learning the language is really long road and everyone who wants to go there has to start from small and reach the top someday.
  11. Welcome to Fuwa forums! I have to ask, your name and Katilot turmion you mentioned are from Finland right? Raaka = Raw in finnish and there is a metal band named Turmion Kätilöt, so I was thinking if you were referring to them? Anyway hope you enjoy your stay
  12. Seems like it, or it is really really short VN. I am pretty sure common VN would be around 25-40k lines long and normal Fandisc is usually 5-20k lines.
  13. I must admit I am a bit interested about the VN, but of course knowing basic information like line count would be great
  14. Have played and enjoyed it qute bit. It is super funny and contains lot of moe moments. Some routes are clearly better than others like Putina's route which I consider the worst out of those. Also the fan disk is being translated by JAST USA if I remember correctly.
  15. Sounds like a great idea. Getting the thing actually work is just a lot of work, but it could really help out those who are looking for similiar VN. Also seperating the TL games and non TL and making a possible to mix those two or just to search for TL or just non TL.
  16. Imouto types are fine... atleast usually. Loli's are good (well of course) My favorite would be shy heroines, who tend to warm up during the play (atleast a bit)
  17. Currently I have : Irotoridori no sekai World's end complete (both games + light novel) Hoshizora no memoria complete (both games) Rewrite Harvest Fest first press edition Grisaia no Kajitsu Little Busters Ex If my heart had a wings (english version)
  18. Look like a well made list, I agree with most must read ones, but not with Yume Miru Kusuri. I don't know, it just didn't feel nothing else than a nukige game to me.
  19. Aaaah.... Playing Final Fantasty XIV Real reborn for few days now. I have been kind of stuck with playing VN for a while now. I have not found anything that has the "Must read" tag on it. Mostly rereading Clannad and Muv-luv alternative when extremely bored.
  20. Did you link wrong picture? I don't see any errors. Also I am not sure, but I think it does require direct X 10
  21. The one and only Muv Luv Extra/unlimited/Alternative would be my number one choice. Another good would be Cross Channel, but I'm pretty sure thats really tough one to adapt to anime format.
  22. I know it can be hard to start and get doing! Think that there is that little reward waiting at the end. Also the visual novel is quite different from anime, although the main events seems to be pretty much the same with few exceptions.
  23. Grisaia cleared 100% Time to go and clear the last route from KonoSora i quess? Also half done with Wanko to Kurasou
  24. Rewrite : Shizuru Maybe because I bawled like small baby in the end Am I only one who like Shizuru's route the most? Clannad: Kyou, if not couting after story Little Busters: Refrain Kanon: Shiori (although I didn't really like any routes really that much) Air still to be played....
