Compare a Fuwa member to a character
Yeah Way replied to Nagisa_Fawkes's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter

There's "Racism", as which the very mention of anything associated with cultural differences may be labelled; and there's racism, "the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races." And neither of those definitions exempt honkies.

IKR? Nothing wrong with, say, Minato, from Akasaka. Speaking of which, that and Lucia's route in Harvest Festa is all of the unTL'd stuff I've read.

This time around, it's a parody of Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken", adapted to fit our interests. Enjoy. The Route Not Talked About Many paths were in that eroge; And I, inspecting all, made a choice. Which girl, which path, which way? Her with large breasts? or the cute voice? By the art, I was given no real preference; They both, of course, were adorable. Stuck, I clicked for online reference; And found behaviour most deplorable. One girl had earnt the forum's favour. Why? She simply had a flat chest! Knowing this, I thought I'd leave her for later, My reasons for doing so perhaps not the best. I shall be telling this all throughout Those forums. Many paths were in that eroge; And I, I chose the route less talked about! Then completed the others, anyway.

Fuwanovel Podcast (Fuwacast) Official Thread
Yeah Way replied to OriginalRen's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Steve isn't on for the Hoshimemo episode? Surely a missed opportunity. -
The real significance of this news is that the next translation project can finally begin. リライト·ザ·ライフ

You haven't played "Rewrite"? You will fucking love Akane, man. Good timing to start reading the game, since the fandisc's translation is finally in sight.

Actually if you know anymore, I'd like to hear it. If she is an Onee chan type, she definitely has to be a Kuudere. At worst a Tsundere/sadist. I don't really like the Fuji-nee san types.

Purgatorio and Paradiso are both good as well. Inferno's better, sure: Virgil is a much better companion than Beatrice. But it's certainly not to an extent that warrants it being read (and even SOLD) on its own. It's probably because people lack the patience to read the rest, or because the other two acts aren't really necessary academic studies. You're missing out, if you enjoyed Inferno. IKR? I cried at the end of "1984". ^^b Funnily enough, it wasn't until a few years later that I learnt just how much of a direct parody "1984" was of Stalin's USSR. Ooh, sounds good. Might look into that "Seven Realms" series.
-
How did I not know this existed? Well, favourite book has to be "1984", by George Orwell, who's also my favourite author, along with Terry Pratchett. I'm currently reading the Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series, having recently finished Dante Alighieri's "The Divine Comedy".

I've noticed that recently, as my Japanese improves, I'm noticing more discrepancies between spoken dialogue and English text. My realisation with this ability was that I mostly agreed with the translators' decisions. Literal translations simply don't work as well in English, whether it be humour, drama, rhetoric, etc. Besides, the vast majority of readers won't ever know about such changes, and those who do can then obviously compare the two and decide for themselves which to accept. In short, a competent translator or editor should have every right to 'improve upon' an English translation for their English-speaking audience.

Current State of GD: Scum and Villainy or Peachy Keen?
Yeah Way replied to Tay's topic in General Discussion
I'd just like to say that GD's probably my favourite forum, and I wouldn't like much change. Though I, too, recognise the lack of clarity regarding G&C's purpose. -
I decided to write a sonnet for my new favourite heroine, Lise. Although, it probably can't be considered a real sonnet; as it has two voltas. Anyway, That day, all about did I wander, Getting wet and wanting rest. Too fed up to "search" for any longer, I hap'd upon a songbird's nest. She was quite a fragile bird, Voice sweet, yet so, so small. But no voice sweeter had I heard, And of all places, from the Old School Hall. I joined in on the small bird's song, Against her wishes at first, of course. A devil believed our partnership wrong, And tried to turn the bird's tune hoarse. But never mind those darker days now past. For ever, I promise, our love will last.

Yes! The cutest! ^^ Naoto Shirogane, Subaru Konoe and Rei Saotome are all adorable.

The most unforgettable moment in your VN experience
Yeah Way replied to AMMSY's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Mine had to be "Rewrite": It was so loud! and it came out of nowhere! Totally took me by surprise and put a huge smile on my face. -
I've not started many threads, but I'd be overjoyed if you'd all contribute to this one! I quite like writing for fun, and I hope this gives people, as it did for me, an excuse to write some silly pieces on VNs and the like. It's not like they're expected to be good at all; so please, don't be shy; and post something for us all to enjoy! ^^ I'll start us off with some rubbish I wrote whilst bored at work. The Translator "Keep going!"; "Hurry up!"; "Take your time..." "Is he dead? He's not been online..." I've still got three routes to go... I started two years ago... One more delay should be fine. Teamspeak There once was a loli called Mare. To comment on her you'd not dare, For Steve was her man, And you he would ban. Yet we did so, still, without care. The Heroine I Didn't Like You'll not catch me with women like her, Who walk the streets on nightly beats To earn their pay and pay their debts, And throw the rest away on an escape Ephemeral as her own trade! 四百二十 四百二 十燃やせこの おかまやろ!

Already mentioned this in the 'dere' thread, but I'd like to reiterate. I love heroines who can talk back to the protagonist and outplay him in conversation, or even simply give an air of superiority to the player character. Why? Because it's infinitely more satisfying when the protagonist "conquers" her, ie. shows her dere side. ^^ These characters include Nagomi Shiraishi, Akane Senri, Kagari, Tsumugu Yourou &, of course, Haruhi feckin' Suzumiya. I've also had a severe weak spot for deredere characters ever since. Yukine from "Clannad". ^^

A A. Took it out of read-only and unblocked it. Still breaks.

So, everytime I exit the options menu, the game crashes and I'm shown this error message: "C:\Users\David\Downloads\Fuwanovel [symphonic Rain] v3\SR.ini\書き込めません" I'm running on Windows 7. I've run the .bat file, installed the font etc. Because of this error, I can't change any of the options. (No fullscreen, no difficulty change) Help would be much appreciated.

Yeop. Love seeing the girls from games like "Persona", for example, finally take their clothes off. Hentai doujin all the way.
-
Get it if you can at least tolerate block-puzzles.
-
A fair point. Gameplay of course would be far too much to ask for. I myself was just hoping for another teaser to hint more towards the concept; but I suppose that, too, is asking too much. Have Atlus ever announced anything at TGS though? They certainly didn't in the last two...
-
Why show Q at E3 then? I'd've thought putting stuff up at E3 was to get media coverage, introduce your stuff to new people etc. Yet they only made a trailer for a spinoff based on the two already established games? Surely most fans of 3 & 4 already know about Q; because, after all, they're fans of the series and therefore keeping up with Atlus's frequent updates?
