  1. There are ways to lessen the grind. Interesting environs, tactical combat etc. Rance 6 is often just … repetitive. And the orb system, which means you have to exit the dungeon and retrek over old ground complete with (often boring) random encounters, doesn’t help matters.
  2. I don't enter those clouds in the middle of a run because it can stuff up your orb process, and exiting the dungeon to save will definitely stuff up orb progress Rance 6 is incredibly grindy. I'm not nearly as impressed with it as I was with Sengoku.
  3. Probably influenced by Japanese anime. Almost every time I watch a trailer for an anime I come away MORE confused about the title.
  4. One dude on the Kickstarter comments section suggested that 500k would be enough to make a 24 episode anime series. 0.0 Some people don't have a good concept of just how much things cost. Also don't let that guy budget anything, ever.
  5. According to Masamune Sakaki, a CG creator in the anime industry, an average 13-episode anime season costs around 250 million yen (or $2 million). He also made it clear that most anime can't recoup this expense, and the industry rests on the windfall of a few big hits. In a July interview, Takayuki Nagatani, producer of Shirobako (itself an anime about anime production), claimed that his show cost 500 million yen (or $4 million) for 24 episodes. In order to make it sell, he had to "advertise it, plan events, and make merchandise." Shinji Takamatsu, a veteran animator, cited a figure of 150 to 200 million yen ($1.2 to $1.6 million). "Expecting to make that up through disc sales alone is a hopeless business model, but that's how almost all late night anime are," he writes. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2015-08-13/anime-insiders-share-how-much-producing-a-season-costs/.91536
  6. It'd cost too much. You'll never raise the funds for it
  7. If you remove levels entirely but keep the idea of stats, then that's not really much different. If you remove levels and stats entirely by not having your character improve, then your character will never progress throughout the game. The idea of improving your character and getting better is one of the key 'reward systems' in the game, removing the concept without replacing it with something might make the game a bit dull. There's a reason why every game is coming with stat improvements these days, like NBA2k and Tiger Wood sports for example. You can remove grinding without including level scaling in 2 general ways. Making the game more linear, like Mass Effect or Fire Emblem. Making the game open world but resigning yourself to the fact that the game will be really easy for some, ala Morrowind. Of course, Oblivion had level scaling and it was easiest to complete with a low level character like FF8. The problem with level scaling is it doesn't really reward you for leveling, and we go back to the 'reward system' here. In Oblivion you were punished hard the more you leveled - at higher levels every bandit you met came with excellent and expensive gear which made them pretty damn difficult to defeat.

I wouldn't worry about ideas or concepts being stolen: https://hollylisle.com/ideas-a-hundred-for-a-dollar/ Good luck with your novel
  9. Could one of the mods please hack into the account of one Flutterz Von Moe-alot, and use it to welcome someone with a moe in the intro forum or something? Thanks in advance, much appreciated
  10. When you install something, the computer creates lines in the registry, it modifies or creates system files, and other funky things happen. You can't just copy program files from one computer to another, you'll need to reinstall them.
  11. I got no cool gifts. I got some funny funny gifts from people who think they're hilarious, but zero cool ones I did treat myself to some unhealthy food though But I so rarely eat junk food that I'm not used to it, and now I feel sick
  12. Happy Holidays is what people say when they're being sensitive to the fact that not everybody celebrates Christmas. And it's 'Happy Holidays' and not 'Merry Holidays' because the latter is just being blatantly ... alcoholic xD ... Okay I'll stop now
  13. And anyway ‘happy’ is more proper than ‘merry’. ‘Merry’ is what people become when they get drunk ... forshame America
  14. If you're in Britain you may hear people wishing others a 'Happy Christmas'. Like the Queen for example. If you're in America you'll only hear 'Merry Christmas'. Harry Potter is a British book, so it'll contain British sayings and words (although in the books many were wiped out when the books were localised for the American audience. You don't see the word 'skip' in the American versions.)
  15. What an irresponsible piece of advice 0.0

  17. Blu Rays are blue to hide malevolent, tiny demons that are on the surface of these discs. Demons who are also … blue in colour. One inserted they makes their way through your blu-ray player, up the cords, into your TV where they have direct access to your eyes and therefore your brain. The brainwashing then commences, after which you will mysteriously "lose" (have no memory of) an hour or so each week during which you will be doing all sorts of nefariously demonic activities. This wouldn't have happened if you had STUCK WITH DVD!
  18. Just to clarify, the lack of a Resume Play option is tied to BD-Java […]. While all BD-Live discs are authored with BD-Java (so they do go hand-in-hand to a certain extent), it’s also possible for discs without BD-Live to share this problem. Java-enabled discs will usually start with a “Loading” icon before the main menu, and tend to take longer to load than non-Java titles. All of Fox Home Entertainment’s James Bond Blu-rays are programmed with BD-Java, even though none have BD-Live content, for example. http://www.handcoding.com/archives/2009/04/03/oh-so-thats-why-some-blu-ray-discs-dont-resume/ That's been the conventional advice on blu ray discs. Although it's really old advice ... EDIT: Sony commented on it. That's nice of them. I didn't see that the last time I researched the topic:
  19. It's really irritating the way Blu-ray discs don't remember where you left off when you press stop. It irritates me so much that I don't buy them any more
  20. I always have to get my birth date, and subtract it from the current date before I could tell you how old I am xD This could be part of the reason why my Mum stayed '30' for 2 decades ...
  21. Sometimes though it’s unrealistic to keep all the smaller languages. For example, India has 1,500 languages and 22 official languages (Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithilli, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.) This diversity, while culturally rich, becomes a hindrance in practical matters. As in, the language changes depending what village you visit o.0
  22. That's why it's called 'the rise of Globish'. Globish being a simplified form of English international people use to communicate with others from a different background. That is, the simplified version of English (Globish) is being used as a universal language for people to communicate in. The above quote came from a few different articles on Globish I mashed together. Sanah's article is both right and wrong. The control of the English speaking world to control the direction of English's evolution is being slowly stripped from them, and people started to notice it over a decade ago. You'd THINK so, but unfortunately no. Globish ignores much of the grammar and structure that defines English for what it is.
  23. Many news sites have an 'opinion' section which is full of stupidity, propaganda, and irrational conclusions. The difference is they're clearly labelled 'opinion'. News sites should be held to a rigorous standard and if they fail to meet this standard of excellence then they should no longer be called 'news'. That being said, if anybody out there gets most of their information from blogs they automatically forfeit their right to complain about fake news. Just saying.
