  1. Baldr Sky only a little behind heavy favourite, Dies Irae. I voted for Baldr Sky, because here in Australia we admire the underdog. The little guy. The struggling battler. The guy who has to do it tough. If you admire such qualities, you too should vote for Baldr Sky
  2. Thanks for all the hard work, Nay. You're a legend
  3. I don’t understand the details other than Nay fixed Fuwa. Again. Fuwa would be screwed without him. Thanks Nay
  4. Nostradamus predicted meteor showers, great floods, terrifying diseases, and a foul and persistent stench will consume the Earth in the days following Muramasa winning a key internet poll. You fellas wouldn’t want to be responsible for the end of the World, would ya? If not, vote Baldr Sky
  5. Baldr Sky is doing a lot better than before, when it was behind 45-55. There's still 18 hours left, plenty of time for people to realise a vote for Muramasa is a vote for the Western Translation VN establishment, whereas a vote for Baldr Sky is a vote for the struggling, outsider. Screw the establishment! Right, folks? If you agree, vote for Baldr Sky
  6. Okay! Here we go! Baldr Sky vs Muramasa! Everybody needs to get their butts over there and vote Baldr Sky. Every time one of you votes Muramasa, Beelzebub snuffs out the life of an angel. And that angel will be reincarnated at some point in the future as a spirit both mischievous and cruel, a spirit who will torment your descendants mercilessly. Yeah? Got it? Good!
  7. It's apparently selling decently, as Nukige tend to do.
  8. Tyrosyn's entire argument is based on an assumption which will never be proven, because it's utterly false. So there's no point even arguing about it. I will reiterate Down's statement though - try not to end up in jail. It probably won't be pleasant for you.
  9. Fiddle posted a quote which sexualised/sensualised lolis, your discussion was about the nuances of pedophilia, and we haven't come to Ren's initial post. Every post of actual substance was against the new rules which were put in place for a reason. Tay has unfortunately not had a chance to revisit them, and has not had a chance to revisit where the boundaries should lie, so in the mean time the mods have to apply the rules as written. I'm gonna be upfront, I was the one who flagged the discussion and brought it to the mods attention. I personally don't have a problem with other people being into lolis or discussing pedophilia but Tay wants them kept off site at this point in time. And the time to have a robust debate about whether the new rules are too oppressive is not when Tay is hardly around, because that would be pointless TBH. You can't challenge authority when that authority is away. So in short, there was a lot of rule breaking in that thread which was why it was deleted. Whether it's oppressive is up to personal interpretation, and while it may be anti-intellectual, well, Fuwa just wants you to take these discussions off-site, that's all.
  10. If you want to go down that path, check this thread -
  11. Always thought the blog should be given more spotlight. The idea that the twitter and FB feed gets the entire tweets shown on the front page, whereas the blog gets squished into a 2 line miniature summary, with each headline given less space than the links on the left side of the page was incredibly disrespectful to the blog, imo. It also increases the sense that everything is squished and cluttered, as though you're trying to cram too much information into a limited real estate. The beta.fuwanovel.net site is so much more beautiful in this regard. Each blog post gets the respect it deserves, and it gets important information on the front page giving it a sense of purpose again. To move the blog to the front page, though ... I'm not sure what it'd look like mainly because of the comments. I don't think having the blog comments on the front page would look that good. But you could combine it with Decay's suggestion, and at the bottom of each article link to a forum thread where people could comment on that article (instead of having comments on the blog itself.) Then there shouldn't be any problems conceptually Agree with you completely about focusing on information
  12. True. Anyway, I just wanted to emphasise that Meru’s fixes were not included in this update before people tried it and started making assumptions. Pretty understandable assumptions as well, because demos are supposed to be indicative of the final product … in a perfect world anyway (I'm looking at you, 'Aliens: Colonial Marines')
  13. New demo out but Meru's changes haven't been included. So quality will still not be indicative of final product, not that much can be read into it and ... I don't actually know why they've released it at this stage, tbh ... :S I guess it will be comforting to some to show that the text is being continuously improved upon?
  14. I just fucked up my upper back. Yay. Makes a change from my lower back (which is usual) or the middle of my back (which I did a fortnight ago.) I blame everybody else. Why? Because I just do >:c
  15. I saw your post, it's almost accurate but you forget that Sunrider is a game as much as a book. Gameplay balance and tweaking will (and should) take up a lot of time. RPGs, for example, it can take a year or more to get the balance right. But you're most likely correct in saying his priorities were out of whack. As an Indie, Japanese voices and the like should be the last consideration. It will drastically limit content and the cost tends to be just too much to justify (in most cases.)
  16. I should point out that ‘translation quality’ doesn’t equate to ‘translation accuracy.’ Accuracy is a part of what determines a quality product, but accuracy alone doesn’t fulfil the purpose of the product (novel) and therefore is only a part of what makes a good translation. It was the easiest thing to ascertain Flowers was a dodgy product even without any knowledge of Japanese (it was just bad in every facet.)
  17. Going by what they've announced, it won't.
  18. LOL at the dude on Reddit complaining that people voted for BL. Some people need to grow up.
  19. The gameplay is basic, the story non-existent, the sim aspects bloated, the only thing it has going for it are the sex scenes. Basically they went into a relationship with a developer of excellent gameplay titles and released ... a nukige. I'm very happy for them that it's rated highly in Japan, I'm under no illusions why it's rated so highly though.
  20. It still annoys me that BBH was picked to be Alicesoft's first Western release. Definitely not their best title
  21. I'd given up on Otoboku 2 seeing a localisation. It would make me plenty happy if MG did release it.
  22. Rance and Baldr Sky 1 and 2 and Shin Koihime also in the top ten. 3 gameplay titles It's good to know 'which relationship types are present' is more important than if the thing was TL'd competently. I'm surprised 'which fetish types are present' didn't nudge TL quality down to 7th, but maybe that wasn't an option this year ...
