  1. I'm firmly of the belief that nobody actually likes Key's old art styles and that they just liked their VNs because they bawled their eyes out while playing them.
  2. Good one. Be warned. The r/vn Sekai forgivers may crucify you for ever criticizing their precious company that brought them such masterpieces as Nekopara and Creatures Romance.
  3. It just feels like a not very confident move from companies. I get if you're starting up, but companies still use them and it's pretty annoying. Fair point. Ah right. Frontwing: The Japanese Sekai Project with better translators. Still can't wait for Island.
  4. So basically what Sekai Project has been for the past 4 years and what SoL Press is becoming.
  5. Never thought I'd see the day where Mangagamer decided to use a Kickstarter to fund one of their projects. I hope this doesn't become a consistent thing with them. At least they'll still have the good TL quality, unlike Sekai Project. w And about the game, it seems overly moege for my tastes, so unless I have nothing else to read, I'll probably avoid this one.
  6. Something something Oscars something something sex with a fishman something something Blade Runner 2049 deserved more nominations
  7. That's good. R/vns is only really good to get news as they tend to post it faster than Fuwa users do.
  8. I didn't know Ren too well to be fair, but he didn't come across as looking good from this. The community came off looking worse to me than Ren did though.
  9. Yes I was. Ren may be a giant asshole because of this, but people acting all entitled and saying that they deserved a TL release just didn't sit well with me.
  10. A lot of them acted like spoiled brats. They kept saying that they "deserved" the translation, even if it was being done for free and as a fan translation. They were extremely entitled and it just turned me off the community entirely.
  11. All I know about r/vns is that they acted in a really childish matter to the Aokana TL incident in 2016 and that hasn't given them a good reputation to me.
  12. No problem. I hope you enjoy the second half of it. That's when the mystery starts getting really good.
  13. So that's why you like moege so much. Suspicions confirmed. w Honestly, I agree with you. The beginning of SeaBed has such a boring plot to me, but it seriously gets a lot better later on. I hated the first half and yet, the second half gripped me quite a bit. As for how far you are into it, the chapters keep being long until Chapter 4. Chapter 5 is where things start to get interesting. It's up to you whether or not to drop it.
  14. Hello and welcome back to these forums.
  15. It still affects my immersion unfortunately. Hence why I always stick to non-gameplay VNs nowadays.
  16. I would agree. SoL to me is only good if comedy is involved in a lot of it and if it's used to develop characters in between large scale action parts. Hence why I enjoyed Dies Irae's SoL scenes.
  17. I just saw gameplay elements... I'm usually turned off from VNs with gameplay elements. I feel it usually takes away from the story too much.
  18. The question is...should I actually play Galaxy Angel? How much of a moege/SoL VN is it so I know whether or not to give it a chance?
  19. My final test question to you to see if you're who I think you are. Do you comment on every single one of ChilledChaos' videos under the name StormShaun?
  20. Consistent intrigue or plot is what usually gets the high ratings from me. If a VN is really slow and boring to start off with, I'll almost always drop it nowadays.
  21. 1. That makes a lot of sense. I was wondering why there was a distinct lack of VNs that were released from 2015-2017. 2. My former VN friend before I got onto these forums loved Galaxy Angel as well. I'm starting to wonder if you are him.
  22. Exposes me and then steals my question.
