I wouldn't listen to just one side and come to a conclusion, especially one that doesn't have the preparation, consideration, and objectivity of a good review behind it. He's a pretty trustworthy guy when it comes to VNs. Plus, I played most of the beginning of the game and I hated it.

This. Only VN I highly admire for having many choices that impact the story. Most VNs nowadays have these pointless choices that only change 1-2 dialogues and dont affect any of the endings and I absolutely hate those because it's a lazy way of adding more content by the devs. =P School days does do a good job with that, but only that. My friend played School Days and said it was the worst VN he's ever played. Also, VNs with a lot of choices. Most of the VNs I've played don't have much when it comes to choice options. The most I can think of is Key VNs.

No, it isn't out yet, but I'm sure Mangagamer will pick it up when it does. Update: I started KnS 2 yesterday. No spoilers or anything, but the beginning is SLOW as hell so be prepared for that. Luckily, there's a lot of character interaction that I actually like which makes it pretty tolerable.

Actually, being obnoxiously thickheaded seems to be a trait of most male protagonists... Yamato, Yuuichi, and Kenichi weren't thick headed and they're my favorite protagonists because of that. Also, the level of thickheadedness of the protagonist wasn't entertaining. It was incredibly annoying. I would rather have a thick headed protagonist then the arrogant or more assertive type. When the guy is more passive, girl's personality is more flashed out for me. Chris's route from Majikoi, for example, would have been far more enjoyable if the MC was the guy was from Sharin no Kuni. Instead we got Yamato and entire route was full of bickering and fight in who will prove a point and have a last sentence. In the end, I'm in for the girls in VN not the guy. But of course, none likes the MC who has common sense problems in general. In any case, new Sakura game... eh? Wait, everything feels way too familiar. A sequel, with another female aside from two old ones? And they pretty much reused the same portraits from the last one with added one. This should have been an expansion. Talk about lazy... Yamato's a great protagonist though. He's in my top 3. I agree, Chris' route was pretty weak compared to the others, but the character interactions between Chris and Yamato made it pretty decent in my opinion.

After the PTSD that was the first game? Lolnope It's fine. A lot of people say that about my name. Also, if you sit through Kara No Shoujo, you'll get a way darker game than Grisaia plus a true ending that was an amazing setup for the sequel. Kara No Shoujo is in my top 5 favorite VNs for a reason. I'm at January 3rd now. Honestly I think it's way better than the first game so far. I'm gonna have to avoid that until I complete the game. I don't need any spoilers. Then again, I also need a walkthrough or else I'm gonna screw up a hell of a lot.

I loved the first game. The mystery was amazing, the characters were likable and the true ending actually made sense where some mysteries do a giant asspull on you. I'm planning on starting my playthrough of Kara No Shoujo 2. Is anybody else planning on it?

I've spoken with a couple people irl who are into scat play. It's not just eating poop and be done with it. I'd agree with this. Not to mention how poorly drawn the uncensored CGs are. I thought it was a joke at first. It has a few technical issues as well. Mostly with the way the voices play out. Early on, there was also a bug in the notebook which displayed all information about some of the characters, essentially spoiling the story for those who checked up on new characters with each update. I never had any of those issues with my playthrough but you're right. Whoever decided h scenes should be put into a mystery/thriller should be sodomized with a black egg.

If I had to become a VN guy, it'd have to be Kenichi from Sharin No Kuni. He's my favorite VN protagonist of all time. If I were to become a girl, I'd be Usami Haru from G Senjou No Maou.

Haven't played Cartagra yet, but Kara No Shoujo is a masterpiece in mystery in my opinion. The only thing I hate about it are the h scenes that don't fit into or add anything to the story.
