  1. I wouldn't mind volunteering been playing visual novels since Ever 17 (found it and Dragonia in 2007) don't really play untranslated works...doesn't mean there aren't any I want to play though.
  2. Honestly my favorite feature is probably the ability to have a lot of saves. This seems to be quite common in most visual novels but there are some games I've played (9 hours 9 persons 9 doors springs to mind) that only have 1-3 save slots. In visual novels this is usually unheard of but they would be a lot less fun if they didn't have that many save slots. I also like games that have a playback feature where you can easily skip to a scene by event. I also really enjoy any little extras any games have. mini-games in the actual story playable on their own and that type of thing.
  3. I suck at this game so much...stupid dice not bumping like I want them too.
  4. What type of articles are you looking for? I would be happy to help if I can just don't expect any recent writings for proof of ability. It's been quite some time since I wrote anything semi-official.
  5. I have now finished Forest am currently waiting to vote on January's vn. I'm probably going to play some little witch Romanesque as I wait for January's visual novel to be decided...a part of me really wants to re-read YU-NO though ever since the remake announcement.
  6. I definitely do not fit the category of a one route and done. I have sometimes felt something that might be a tinge of guilt knowing that my actions on one route effectively ruin the lives of other characters in the game but at the same time curiosity. I play the games for the story content and the characters and there have been quite a few visual novels where if I hadn't read every route I wouldn't have properly understood the story. I also feel as if each route grows a character not just in their own route but in the other routes as well (more so if the vn is written well). There are sides of people that you may never know without being a lover, an enemy, a friend, or a simple associate. People have many different masks they wear and to see the characters in multiple situations does nothing but grow the characters. A lot of my belief on this topic probably has to deal with Ever 17 being the first visual novel I ever played and as such I always read everything just in case a visual novel has something similar to that in it.
  7. So what's everyone's opinion on picking one show (not a sequel season or continuing from fall season) from the upcoming winter season that everyone in this club has to watch and discuss on a weekly-ish basis? What are people's opinion on voting on the show before any episodes of the winter season actually air (a complete gambit based only on previews and synopsis?) Would anyone be up for doing something like that. Would that even fit in the fuwa anime club agenda thing or should this be a separate idea? on that note: good luck finishing durarara all...here's a question for those that finished it; which singular character would you like to find out more about in the second season?
  8. How many people you have for the veterans vs newcomers episode? On that topic what is the criteria for being a newcomer or being a veteran? Is it based your experience with visual novels or your experience on the website or something else?
  9. Just a quick head's up was confirmed to be YU-NO remake. No mention of platform or the like. I'll get excited if it is a PC remake.
  10. So anyone have any guesses as to what this new text adventure might be? 5pb. composer Chiyomaru Shikura commented on his Twitter account about the visual, saying, "The monumental and greatest work in text adventure game history... I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, right?" The rumor is that this might somehow be a remake of YU-NO. It does seem likely that this is going to be a visual novel and not an anime project but we won't know til a bit later. If it is a remake of YU-NO how would people feel? Will update this post once more info is known. Confirmed to be remake of YU-NO.
  11. I am now wrought with indecision. Do I watch the sequels or do I wait for the visual novel before watching the sequels. It's nice to know that they are doing the other two games as an anime (which also explains why the first season was so terribly rushed...cost) but I usually like reading the visual novel and then watching the adaptation. Sequels were confirmed with the first one to start in March I believe.
  12. Would Paca Plus be considered one of these games...I can't decide if I'd count it as a non-human-heroine or not. Kamidori Alchemy have a non-human-heroine (a few of them) but one of the main 3 is an elf. It's also a very long strategy-ish game people either like or dislike.
  13. I'm on Chapter 8 of Forest and waiting for the vn reading club to announce january's visual novel so I can have something to read when Forest is done...I'm indecisive as hell.
  14. I'm hearing the music track for this game in everything now regardless of whether it actually is in any of these things or not.
  15. Congrats to the winners and the people who won but gave up the prizes!
  16. So it looks like funimation is stepping it up a notch and realizing that crunchyroll is becoming more of a threat. Looks like they have 6 announcements left. Crunchyroll will probably get anything they don't but hopefully they'll pick up a few that they do even if it's just for other parts of the world.
  17. Actually paypal and patreon is having a major issue right now with adult content as well and is definitely not the venue to go for that either. Nice to know they got back...unfortunate that they are still all a bunch of hypocrites.
  18. From what the twitter comments of a few people are saying they didn't even look at it or get back to anyone. They just forcibly without comment got rid of it. Kickstarter is definitely not the platform for funding/backing visual novels. I hope they put the stuff that was removed as potential bonus items that people can buy via the website (maybe have a limited amount or something or keep it stocked) they could probably make quite a bit of money doing that.
  19. Kickstarter just forcibly removed 60,000 dollars and all tiers higher than $245 from the Kickstarter. It's currently at 208,000 though so still funded to michiru's spin-off adventure.
  20. Vol.1 of Nekopara is available for purchase on denpasoft 34.99 (a bit pricey imho). Features: -Full voice (except for the main character) -Animated character movement and poses using the E-mote System -Game text and UI can be seamlessly switched between English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese -H-scenes are also animated Note: Game will be shipping in February 2015. *LIMITED EDITION* Comes with a 52 page full color artbook and a mini shikishi illustration board https://denpasoft.com/shop/neko-para-vol-1/ It also seems the regular version is going to be 19.99 (basically you pay an extra 15 for the artbook). So far they only take credit cards. Shipping is 8 dollars in U.S. and 15 elsewhere. The website does have a place to enter coupon codes however which I'm thinking might be used for a certain other game they will be selling. edit: H-scenes with standard Japanese Mosaics. No Digital Download distribution rights for denpasoft.
  21. Does this include console or handheld games that some consider to be visual novels? Examples include X-Blaze Code Embryo, Phoenix Wright, Ar Tonelico series, or Tears to Tiara 2?
  22. Hey no worries from me feel free to take as much time as needed.
  23. Anyone know if the translation for the 18+ version is going to actually be decent at all? Hell does this even have a story or is this just an overload of cute and pron?
  24. Maybe just make it a regular drawing (if this isn't happening)...? I'm sure some lucky person can live without a copy of sakura spirit.
