Yes there are alot of vns I've read that have an amazing array of male characters. Lets start with Fate/Stay Night shall we? Kotomine "REJOICE" Kirei is my favourite villian ever. He's pretty complicated for someone who inherently has a "evil for the lulz" outlook on life (and questions why he is like that). Not to mention his voice acting! Archer, Gilgamesh, Lancer, and Assassin are awesome too! Umineko! Umineko's male cast is interesting. Kinzo....is a horrible person, but he was entertaining nonetheless. All the umineko characters really are complicated and interesting (except the Siesta sisters, Erika/Dlanor who act more as mouthpieces for mystery tropes, etc). And yes as many have mentioned, I am GAR for Comyu's Gasai. The scenes between him and Akihito were just great.

I assume you've read the oh so classic fate/stay night then?

Steins;Gate for its fun character art and great plot. Now I also reccomend the umineko games (with the art /voice patch naturally). Its just that Umineko's narrative structure is so unique and how it places you the reader, in an interesting role. Its a mystery where the answers aren't directly given and it forces you to put an effort it in. The music is god-like and all around feelsy.

Actually there is alot more you can do with Umineko you see. Umineko is a pretty unique mystery in that the answers are not outright revealed, as I am sure you have noticed. And honestly, I just did a second reread of Umineko recently (first time I read it was a year ago), and let me tell you, its almost like reading a completely different story on a second read, especially once you know how to interpret the "fantasy" scenes, reconcile them with the underlaying "mundane" truths, and try to piece them together to find out the "heart" of the culprit, that is the person behind Beatrice. Said person reveals themselves in episode 7, but even then, can you say you understood their motive? Also, there's a Umineko manga written by Ryushii07 that provides extra visual clues to the mystery. As for what I am currently reading, I am on the second heroine's route of comyu (been slowly going through it).

I feel like I may have been the person who made that youtube comment . I did remember posting a comment like that somewhere on youtube. Anyways, so I was looking for a new anime to watch at the time. I wanted an action anime of sort, and so I googled "top action anime", and fate/stay night caught my eye. Now before I actually decided to watch F/SN, I decided to go to its wikipedia page for a more complete synopsis. This is where I learned it was based on a visual novel, and I decided "hey, that sounds interesting. I guess I'll try the visual novel first". And the rest is history, and now I nag people to play vns all the time .

I just finished I/O and man it is the most complicated VN I ever read. It's also full of great feels and I don't think I'll ever forget I/O. That being said, I'll now be playing Higabana 2nd night.

Allright I now have the bare bones structure for what I am going for with this. I've also added a technical page and I know what I want to post on a daily basis at least. Thanks so much for all the advice guys !

I definitely go for the visual novel first if I can help it. This is mainly because the visual novel is essentially the full package, and honestly if I watch the anime first, I might not get motivated to read the vn. Plus usually the visual novels tend to have better art/music at times.

Furthermore, in the run of this blog, I am more than likely going to mention this site a couple of times. I am just also wondering if that is cool with the admins here. I do plan to talk about certain visual novels, mention recommendations, link analysis by you guys and other websites, resources, random cg scenes, etc. I know there are already a bunch of great visual novel blogs/fansites out there, but I am hoping this will make the medium more visible on tumblr. THANK YOU. I was wondering why no one mentioned Umineko's soundtrack. It's pretty god tier. Like I might go as far as say, you haven't heard some of the best vn tracks without giving Umineko's ost a chance.

So NISA has announced that they'll be localizing Dangan Ronpa 2 for fall 2014, for the Vita. As a result, Zetsubou Project has cancelled their fan translation project . I personally think this is a good thing, since, hey official support for the franchise!

So for those of you who don't know, Higanbana is a visual novel made by 07th expansion (Umineko, Higurashi, Rose Gun Days,etc) and awhile back the first game came out and was translated. Well in any case the second game just got translated today! Not only that, but they seemed to have struck a deal with Manga Gamer to provide a digital download for both games (so yay you can legally get it!). Strange, I thought I already did that to get rid of the font size issue and movie file issue. But anyways, for some reason the folder has the read only checkbox checked off. I unchecked it and viola the problem was solved. Thanks a bunch!

So I am having this weird problem with ever 17. So I just got Tsugumi's good ending and I also have a separate save for her bad ending. So Tsugumi's ending was the first one I got , so naturally before it, I didn't unlock the juxebox and the CG gallery. After I got the ending, they naturally unlocked. Now the weird thing is that when I close the game (I make sure to hit "save system data"), and reload the game, the juxebox and CG gallery isn't unlocked. I also noticed the game's options were set back to default. The saves I made however, were still there. So am I to believe that everytime I want to access the juxebox and stuff I have to get all the endings in one sitting (ie: make a save file for each ending, and reload them each time?) I looked into the game's save folder, and it seems the save_syst .dat file isn't updating (the date modified doesn't change).

I sorta preferred grisisa no kajitsu's format since it didn't require alot of back tracing too get things done.

At the moment I am putting little busters on hold to read Rose Gun Days Season 2 instead
