  1. If's not out here and I'm allergic to fresh air.
  2. Sure. Japanese dub adds nothing to a game or vn for me. Then again I'm in the almost nonexistent demographic that prefers to have no dub in any language for the most part. Great English VA > no VA > good English VA > VA in a language I can't understand > bad English VA
  3. 200+ hours on Final Fantasy VI and Persona 4 Golden. If I include MMOs, 4536 hours on FFXIV.
  4. Dharker Studio (a.k.a. AJTilley) has raised $46,000 for 10 more games in the ___ bounce series. Unfortunately, this is true.
  5. Well they've finally given a piece of info that lets me reach my decision. Peeing tapestries is a no vote personally.
  6. Like most have already said, I prefer long games and VNs as long as they stay interesting throughout. There are some exceptions since my favourite VN so far is only a few hours long. A lot of this is probably because I'm an avid reader, so I enjoy becoming absorbed in what I'm reading. My main complaint with short games is price. I'd rather pay $80 (current price of games here) for a 50+ hour game than $80 for a five hour game. This is less of an issue with VNs since their prices seem to be more tuned to the length.
  7. For me it's a "need more info", mostly what the translation will be like. From my personal experience, the reason it isn't doing well is because I have only ever seen one VN succeed on IndieGoGo (Karakara) and I think even it had problems reaching its goal. Then again, I've given up trying to figure the majority of backers on crowdfunding. Interesting looking VNs languish on Kickstarter while Dharker Studios' monthly (it just feels that way) drivel is funded in a few hours.
  8. Expanding on that, Americans can only use EDLs to enter Canada via land or water crossings. Flying requires a passport.

    Persona

The same thing could have been said for Rise. Idol (object of lust) = The Lovers appeared just as "in the face". I'm sure it will go deeper than just because she's been a recluse since middle school. http://persona5.jp/character has been updated with info about the new characters from the trailer.
  10. I played the demo yesterday and liked it. The art is fantastic. I also find the story and characters intriguing. That said, I definitely see room for improvement. The script really needs a proof reader as there are a lot of spelling mistakes and use of entirely wrong words. Arcadia is in desperate need of depth. It makes sense that Dawn gets more character development, since she's experiencing entirely new things, but Arcadia just seems to be shoe horned in. Some of the transitions seem abrupt. For example (being kind of vague here for people who don't want the story of the demo spoiled) when they meet Arcadia in the flesh; I found it jarring when it exits out to the station menu after the 'a few minutes ago' segment. I actually thought it was a bug at first when none of the station options advanced things. I only exited the station to see if entering again would fix things. As an aside, Dawn's actions in the bar would make for a bad ass CG scene. Even just one picture. My last complaint is probably just something that players have to be careful about, but I found it annoying when the AI controlled ships fire on neutral ships that are just passing through when I'm fighting someone. I know I seem down on the game, but I have great hope for it and I backed it as soon as I finished the demo in the hope you'll be able to make it the best you can.
  11. I'm cautiously hyped. For some reason I get the feeling from the Steam page (store.steampowered.com/app/285190/) that the single player campaign is going to be just slapped on. I hope not since the campaigns have been what I liked about the previous Dawn of Wars.
  12. I had been playing .hack back when I was trying to come up with a new username a bunch of places. At one point early on Balmung says something along the lines of 'it has an HP value that is... Infinite' about a Data Bug. I'm mortal, therefore finite HP.
  13. Has this download limit been added for their older titles too, or just Atom Grrrl? Because if it hasn't been added to the others, my guess would be the developers insisting on it. Might have to wait until the next game they publish to see if it's affected.
  14. I backed it and have been looking forward to its release. I'm really hoping it doesn't feel like it was just run through google translate.
  15. To be fair, he only added other games after the funding went significantly beyond the stretch goals. I was a backer for a while in order to see if the fact Summer Fling uses Copyright Free character sprites was addressed anywhere (it wasn't). His post about adding Summer Fling was along the lines of 'adding more stretch goals to Army Girls would just lead to feature creep, so rather than taking money for nothing I'll use the rest for this game (Summer Fling) another of my teams is making.' After he got some more money he asked the backers if in the unlikely event the funding got above the final stretch goal for Summer Fling, did they want him to add a third game. I imagine after that got funded what conscience he had got thrown out the window though with the realization that if he promises more games the sheep will fund them.
  16. Really sucks that something like this happened to them. Only other way they could do it is to only give keys to long time customers. Charge backs can take up to a month to happen so if they did a wait time for keys it would have to be at least that long.
  17. I definitely consider Digital Devil Saga part of the SMT game verse. They were the first SMT games I played, so they have a special place in my heart. Not sure how much I like them has to do with nostalgia and how much is on their merits though. They are definitely worth playing, but I didn't mention them since they are PS2.
  18. Given those systems your options are Persona 1, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, SMT4, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, and the two Devil Survivor games. P1 and P2IS are PSP games you can get off PSN that work on the Vita. P2EP is a PS1 game again off PSN that I think will run in the Vita, but if not you could emulate on your laptop. SMT4, The Devil Survivors, and Soul Hackers are 3DS. Depending on why you didn't like Strange Journey you may not like the other games. I personally didn't like Strange Journey but have loved every other SMT game I've played.
  19. I wouldn't call myself a veteran, but I know what I like in a VN - good story, good art, and interesting characters. You definitely have good art (and the fact it is so different from the standard style a lot of games go for makes it stand out in a good way) and what I have read about your VN intrigues me. Hopefully it truly will turn out well.
  20. I had been looking forward to it for a few years, so I was looking forward to it. I had played a bit on the Taiwan servers about a year ago with an English patch but stopped when I reached quests that weren't translated. Having now played the NA version to level 20 off and on since realease I have to say that I am bored out of my mind. I'm not sure I want to play anymore.
  21. The first few Discworld books are kind of rough. The general consensus is that they start to become good at Guards! Guards! and get better. By the time I got to Reaper Man, Pratchett had become my favourite author. Personally Adams doesn't compare at all. Finished Jonathan Stroud's Bartimaes books. Pretty good. I'm now reading the Unbound short story anthology because it has a Dresden Files story.
  22. My first was Summer Session. At the time I didn't know it was part of a genre called Visual Novels. I played a few more by that company (College Romance and Flower Shop) before deciding they were crap. Next up was 999. I really loved it, but never considered Zero Escape VNs until I first came to Fuwanovel. The first VN I played knowing it was a VN was Katawa Shoujo. Never did play all the routes.
  23. Despite all my issues with Perdido Street Station I did find it interesting. Don't know if I'll ever read another book by him. I'm now reading The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud. So far I like it.
  24. I'm from Canada like my location says.
  25. I read quite a lot. I mostly read Sci-fi and Fantasy. My favourite series are Discworld, Codex Alera and Dresden Files. I am of the unpopular opinion among Jim Butcher's fans that Codex Alera was better than Dresden Files is. Currently I'm reading Perdido Street Station by China MiƩville. I was really looking forward to reading it, but I'm finding it a hard slog. I don't like any of the characters and while I don't mind complex language, he uses more "why use a simple word when you can use a complex or archaic one instead" than I like. It's like he wrote the book using a thesaurus.
