  1. What? But... the characters have different names. They have the same looks but shouldn't be the same people...
  2. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is a bit overrated. You can get to the end with no problems, like I did, but you won't be saved from the occasional facepalm. That said, I don't think it connects in any way to Muv Luv (though I haven't played those). I guess it just reuses the main characters' designs. ********************* Noble Works was... just pointless. I didn't think ojousamas could be so boring. Dracu-riot is better only by a pinch -on first look all heroines look good, but actually getting through their routes is a chore. The vampishit isn't very helpful either, it's just a background to paint the story over. And protagonist is just... not great. Yuki Zakura, it's old but God, it's bad. Besides, some routes are actually palatable (like Saki's) but other are torture. Wanko to Kurasou is an eroge wanting to be a nukige. All the setting is just facilitation for softcore bestiality. And the "drama" is laughable. Sakura Beach... you're left thinking "what the heck did I read? Why do I feel like I'm worthless?". I suppose the level of writing is constant among all the franchise.
  3. You want to be a hero? Fine, just choose one of the multiple problems of the world and set yourself to solving it. There, no need to create phantom menaces.
  4. Well, whatever. You changed schools because of bullying, but nothing remarkably bad happens normally in high school, right? Sure, man.
  5. Well, the "Nekoko case" is pretty common. Crazy things happen at high schools all the time. Maybe these were more common up to the good ol' 90s, probably they still happen now. Adolescents do drugs like it's nothing. Some of them go crazy with the THC, but at any rate, trying to pass senior high school while drowning in gallons of alcohol is a pretty impossible task.
  6. Your world is barren, huh.
  7. Well... when I was of age to watch Star Wars without pooping myself, all the movies were already there. Even as I was born
  8. Good science does. Because scientists actually try to demonstrate and test things, not pull shit out of their asses, like gurus, religion and pals.
  9. I don't want to fix anything... I just buy the games that I want, and support the companies and projects that I want. I can't speak for the thousands of fans like me, that may pursue other directions. I'll certainly not help moeges overthrow the market, though I get one of them from time to time. But if that's what the majority wants -what can I really do? They deserve to get what they want, too.
  10. Indeedy, you don't need a single hobby, you need several of them. Depends on your available free time.
  11. Everyone of us needs to pay less attention to what others do. If that brings about the community's demise... then too bad. You can't fight against the overwhelming tide.
  12. ef didn't make me cry as I'm dead inside harder than steel, but... Chihiro's bad end did depress me a bit, if you know what I'm talking about.
  13. Yes, I read them sitting. The secret? Reduced playing sessions, around 10 hours a week, no marathons. Isn't it common sense? In fact, playing Baldur's Gate is worse. The games are so immersive and usually I play long sessions, so my neck hurts a bit, and I start seeing character sprites when I close my eyes.
  14. I usually like to read the bad first, then finish with the good. Note that I'm a nakige man.
  15. Tiki is the true waifu.
  16. Do the usual: set the game's .EXE to use Windows 9X compatibility, less colors, less resolution. Also run the .EXE with admin rights.
  17. Chaos;Child?
  18. It looks like a really neat machine to be used only with emulation. Hope you find some good-looking modern titles. You can try the BlazBlue series, it's on Steam.
  19. Try Crescendo [https://vndb.org/v29] for an actual nurse heroine. Then Dracu-Riot [https://vndb.org/v8213] for a doctor secondary character with weight in the story (you'll know more about him depending on which route you go). Also, he's gay.
  20. That's just because the Sakura games are cringey, while NepNep is not. It may not be your cup of tea, but they are still legit games. Still, I'm sure that there are lots of people looking for what both Sakura and NepNep have to offer. That's the thing. We easily consider Sakura games trash, but how widespread is our view? That notwithstanding the great amounts of people who have Sakura games in their inventory and haven't even touched them. I have seen some cases like that.
  21. If the Sakura series is shovelware, because they churn out games like mad... then what is Idea Factory with NepNep and others? And still those are very well regarded. You get memes instead of soft porn, but it is still considered shovelware within JRPGs.
  22. In fact, Sakura games are not that bad. Even if you take Sakura Beach 1, which I think was the very first entry, the visuals and technology are good. It's just that the story is simply not engaging in any way, presenting overused tropes that lead to soft-porn scenes. It's not my thing really, but for people who really love (or still tolerate...) those tropes, and people wanting some "stimulation", it can work, as the sales proves.
  23. I don't think most things done in the West are "rubbish". I enjoy Ebi-hime VNs and find some really indie games, such as those posted in Renai.us, really charming. And the flagship, Katawa Shoujo, made many of us stay in this hobby. Major/Minor... huh, the furry visual novel (there are other examples). I think that the furry community is a really closed off space where things are instantly liked just because they are furry, not by other merits. Well, let them be.
