VNs are traditionally disguised as "adventures", a true catch-all term. And while some people may play a couple of them out of curiosity, you need more to stay. The art is not to everybody's liking, and you need an introduction to it. That said, there are a lot of people who enjoy a good plot in their games. But if you leave outside the gameplay, that number dwindles.

Casualisation. Games are more casual and the shooters reign supreme. Plus dishonest customs like loot boxes, matchmaking algorithms, broken AAA productions, unfinished games that sell only because of marketing. Indeed the VN industry would change radically if it had to accommodate a wide audience.

I think that VNs are a natural choice coming from anime and manga. On second thought, do you really want VNs to be universal, and suffer the same fate as the general videogame industry?

Mifuyu is no pure girl, by any means. This sounded to me like "viddy well, little brother, viddy well."

I wanna enjoy the whole game. A H-scene taken out of context is a sin.

I'm not really a full-fledged fan of this genre, but I bought a key for Hearts of Iron IV and played like 2 hours... enough time for the British Fleet to beat my Germany to a pulp. There's a lot of things to manage and that may not be your cup of tea. Besides, a new game opens with a looooong load screen. Maybe I'll go back to it and conquer Poland once and for all. But if you're not well prepared even the Austrians mount a decent defence against you

What about Steins;Gate. Those uncountable number of times that Okabe time leaps, virtually leaving his former self in a deadly situation. And he has to hurt and erase good feelings and memories from several girls. Except in this case, it really adds to the drama.

Like Little Busters? So much romance just to be taken away? Hoshimemo, I liked the main heroine. It's debatable if she's better than Komomo or Kosame, though. And I can tolerate Isuzu and Asuho in some cases. Chinami... I don't buy into imouto stuff.

But if you built a time leap machine, you can play hundreds of eroge and have scores of waifus while retaining the memories of all of it, and without time constraints.

Why waifus? Why not time machines?

It was very good until, suddenly, it was not (true year 2000 effect). 2001 saw a huge rebuilding of my life. Even though I got away with it, I still feel some sense of incompletion about high school. I often dream about having to do that important exam even though I'm working now (or should be), actually I dream that something gets retconned in my life and have to do NOW that exam or else my title is taken away and I'm a pariah forever and ever.

Naturally, there are womynz (naturally, I knows the hacker) They're just a tad difficult to keep track of, but that results in two problems: 1) most of the time they don't want to be tracked down, 2) why would you do it if not for the obvious reasons? I just treat women as regular people, is it wrong?
