  1. Hmmm, probably I was mistaken. I guess it was originally a LN. I tend to mix them up with manga.
  2. I would say, I need it making any sense with all those elements. Fun to watch, but it doesn't have much of a conclusion. I guess the manga is still going?
  3. Not to be rude, but Asobi ni Iku yo was a terrible show.
  4. I'd like to know your thoughts on this movie. It wasn't mindblowing, but clearly enjoyable. The message it carries is good and useful in today's world (see Shakira's "Try everything" song). Judy makes for a good main character, and it doesn't have "silly" drama like Wall-E (I liked Zootopia more than Wall-E). Plus, it's guaranteed we'll have a tidal wave of fanart coming from the fans. Thumbs up, Pixar Disney. At least for me.
  5. Good news is that you've got hundreds of anime to watch, stretching over quite some decades. Also picking some old series and comparing with the new is pretty enlightening about the evolution (decline?) of the whole thing. Most of the old series aren't readily available, though the most popular are out there. Spewing dozens of animes a year doesn't warrant them being good, on the contrary, but you have a lot of backup in that case. Considering groundbreaking series happen once a year or even less frequently, you pretty much have to sit back and watch some older ones.
  6. Well what do you expect, it's SMT setting running on Etrian Odyssey layout. Good production values, but if you're not into the hardcore dungeon hack, it won't do much for you. Myself, I'm a Baldur's Gate boy.
  7. Really enjoyed One thing I don't buy into is Zettai Ryouiki, sorry to its many fans.
  8. I bought if *before* the console. I got tired of it though. Played up to "Walmart" battle and it is kinda nightmarish. Then restarted it to do things more properly, recruiting Kellam and Tharja, etc. Hey people, how many battles to the end after Walmart?
  9. Probably, but Horo is so nice... pity that the anime doesn't handle their relationship in any satisfying way. Would have to follow the novel, probably buying at Book Depository, but I'm so low on spare money right now...
  10. Hiragana is far easier than kanji, so it's a good starting point. I would say, if you can't do hiragana, then you shouldn't trouble yourself with kanji. Both have different learning approaches though. With a decent memory you can learn hiragana pretty well, or with a lot of repetition. I learnt it with manga magazines when I was 16, but that is a good age to learn anything. Also, as with other non-Latin alphabets, it's easier to know common syllables that repeat a lot than the more uncommon ones.
  11. Easy way to earn you a slap. Did you forget about the current wave of feminism?
  12. I thought it was an artistic resort especially used on lolis, and not meant to be carried over to reality.
  13. But it doesn't account for much. Although clearly Yume Miru Kusuri wants to address the topic, they don't do it in a satisfactory way IMO. Aeka could be perfectly worst girl if not for that fucked up president (again IMO). Well, every girl is pretty weird in that game.
  14. Or, you know, you could run Linux Mint and play VNs with Wine. I know that nothing beats native environment, but Wine should handle them.
  15. You just spam too much, but don't fret, that means you're doing your job
  16. People talk good of Persona Q. I bought it, played it, and sold it because it was so freaking hard. Etrian Odyssey hard. Just not my thing. It was a good game though, but I missed like every gag with the Persona 3/4 characters.
  17. Hi, my email account gets spammed by the minute with the people talking on PM. How can I deactivate the subscription? Thanks!
  18. Idk, is it Key's fault? As in "hey we're famous, pay more you baka"?
  19. Another one, the "it was a dream" retcon thing. Found not only in bad VNs but in bad writing in general. Why show something to your public if you're gonna invalidate it? It's as basic as DRY for programmers.
  20. Seems I was misled by the opening... Monster Musume seemed groundbreaking to me in so many ways. I suppose it's just the most decent harem in ages. And yeah, the first season of the anime could only provide such an ending if it deviated completely from the manga, which it didn't. And besides, they still have to make more money out of it. The most shitty romance story I have laid hands upon was "Kimi ni iru machi"... I spoiled it off since I didn't want to keep watching, and found heaps of complaints towards the author.

  22. Open ending, just because you don't know how on Earth close your damn series. Has become a tradition with harems, because you have to please every fan (so, not choosing one girl as canon over the rest). I was expecting Monster Musume would break all barriers and provide us with a wedding ending... well, the manga could still do it, and I think it will. A second season of the anime is very possible too.
  23. I wrote that because I just don't know about any game with KS origins that's worth it. Development tends to be a mess, you have to worry about the goals and rewards, and there are even cases of people flogging their game and then disappearing with the money. But we live in an age wherein even AAA titles can suck big time. Not the highest peak for videogames, at least in quality, luckily we have some staunch studios that keep the flame alive. If anything I feel that KS is a controversial way of funding your project. For me it has been a fad, where the laziest people tried to fund even their musical album, just because it was popular at the moment.
  24. Don't know if it will help, but Linux's Wine emulates Win 9X, I think. It's a lot of work putting Linux in vm and then putting Wine, but you never know. You could always grab an obsolete Win 95 and put it into a vm.
