  1. Furthermore, should she try to block your entry, bang on the door and shout "Help! I'm being blocked by a crazy girl!" so the teacher can understand the situation and hopefully give you a pass.
  2. Tag along with the prefect girl then, in that case. Just head in the direction she went until you catch up to her, preferably some quick motion that isn't technically running. If she's not running as well, she couldn't have gotten to far. If she is, then you have ammo in case she tries to shoot you down for running again when she's doing the same. Upon entering the class say that her delays had resulted in them both being late. She seems to have some form of a standing so being associated with that will lower the chances of us being punished. Be sure to catch her name during class and report her to the office later for misconduct (The hitting the floor thing) and preventing a student from reaching their classroom. Oh, and be sure to do it anonymously, or to have someone else do it for you, preferably a witness who 'believes the girl's actions were beyond her duties as a prefect.' If you have any money in store, you could use that as a bribery to increase the chances. Though that might vary.
  3. "I must apologize, but I will have to decline. If a student has to break a rule in order to get to class on time, then it's a fault of the system as opposed to the person itself. Perhaps you could discuss longer passing periods with the higher-ups to alleviate this issue? With how large the school is, I'm not surprised it hasn't happened already." Akihiro starts walking up the stairs. "Nice talking to you, but class is starting soon. Later!"
  4. "Apologies for the confusion miss, but I was running outside." Or so you say, but you seem to have entered the hallway at some point. You decide to conveniently leave out the part concerning climbing the walls of the buildings and leaping across rooftops. There might be a broken window a hallway or two back, but that's not really of any severe concern, is it? Furthermore, there's a piece of toast in a nearby trashcan. I wonder who left it there?
  5. a.pomf.se/lddwbl.wav This is what I came up with using the information in Flutterz's post. It seems to not have worked very well but you should be able to access it at least. Just know it hasn't been tested much.
  6. I think I'm having trouble uploading. Is it possible for a .wav file to be uploaded to Puush? Are there any other routes I might be able to take? It says it's at 100% but it's not being uploaded ><;;
  7. I'm here, I'm here! ><;; Akihiro dashes to class. And by dashes, we mean nonsensical jumping off of trash cans and climbing three-story buildings dashing. You see, he likes high places, in addition to moving really really fast. All is calm and well until he smashes his head into a girl's face on the way to class.
  8. (Should I assume the fly being down thing didn't happen or that it just got missed on your end?) "I wouldn't quite call myself along those lines, though I certainly do seem to have a unique way of interacting with people. It's nicer than I was expecting, actually. Thanks for asking."
  9. "By the way, your fly is down." Akihiro notes Chiya's rather...unfortunate predicament.

    Hyped for P5 as well. During the first few days of the recent trailer's existence I probably saw it like, 20 times in one sitting. I wanted to show it to some of my non-gamer friends as well but they were too busy : <
  12. Akihiro is dragged along without much conflict. Either he's too tired or doesn't care strongly enough to fight it. Eventually, he's in the lobby. Supposedly. Maybe he'll just go back to sleep it the man fails to keep his interest.
  13. (Kansai dialect is standard Tokyo, or Osaka? I know they have different ones but I'm unsure which one Kansai is referring to. I think they translated Labrys' accent/dialect into a Texas-type in Persona 4 Arena, so maybe you could do that? Seems to fit from what I know.) --Edit: (My apologies, didn't notice the Osaka-ben clarification in the post. The above still stands but I guess the context changes a bit. "My apologies, sir. A 'flying imp-monkey' hit the speaker button on my phone in the dead of night. I thought I had chased him away before any damage had been done, but it seems he was more intelligent than I had assumed." You hope that you can get away without having to admit your mistake. Akihiro's tone is deadpan without a hint of actual guilt. After all, it was the flying imp-monkey that did it, not him.
  14. Apologies, clarification is something I tend to be a little picky about ><;; Does anyone know of recording software? Something that could be used to get the voice recorded and uploaded to a file of some description. Not a sector I'm fully familiar with.
  15. Is there a minimum length of the song? What resources can we use to put the song up for people to hear it? Do you have any examples?

    I've been finding Etrian good myself, though it might have to do with different tastes. Etrian style seems to be an evolution on standard Megaten refit for a different focus. Whereas Megaten has the whole Order/Neutral/Chaos dynamic, and Persona is the flagship series with strong characters and really good graphics, Etrian-style seems to be making dungeon crawling itself a mechanic. It's more about resource management and the risk/reward of continuing on or falling back to the town than it is about the combat in and of itself. It's slower-paced and does what it can to make up for the lack of a portable's graphical capabilities, whereas in Persona they can take full advantage of it and make the aesthetic style and music bring the game to life through other avenues. It has to do with what each franchise is built around, and the mechanics it uses to cover its weaknesses and increase its strengths. Megaten and Persona certainly have elements of them, but I consider Etrian one of the strongest examples of dungeon crawling as a mechanic, and I actually think it's a good place to look for inspiration in terms of gameplay-heavy RPGs. If you look at what mechanical elements they added and took away in Persona Q in contrast to Etrian Odyssey, you'll see that they're actually all based around things that are either fixing problems Etrian has and experimenting with different approaches to the same core fundamentals, or based around giving players further incentive to take choices that are more in-line with what they think makes the game more fun. (With the exception of pre-set P3/P4 characters as opposed to player-made ones. That's definitively a result of the crossover thing.)

    I've been an ATLUS fan since High School. I have a high amount of confidence in the stuff they put out
  18. Plug some music into your phone and walk around until 6:30. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LaHhOPbTe8 Perhaps someone out there recognizes the song, but probably not. At 6:30, start heading to class. (Is linking an actual song going too far? xD. Apologies for the vagueness though, doing something at the moment. )
  19. Akihiro looks around the room. It's traditional Japanese in theme, though there's a supposedly well-made computer to the side and frankly none of us would be surprised to see a television somewhere in here. We can't tell if the computer is turned on or not. He opens the window and looks outside. What's outside is up to you, but they're certainly quite high up. "Question one. If there are only twenty rooms on each floor, why does your end in 31?" He looks to the floor below. "Question two. Has anyone ever survived a jump from the 3rd year windows? How easy is it to climb down?" He noted Naoto's funny accent when speaking the word 'stories', but felt it was nothing of severe concern. Akihiro fidgets around with the key in his pocket. Seems to still be there.
  20. (Hold it! I was typing something ><;; My apologies if it's kind of forcing through events that might have already happened.) Akihiro holds the door open before Naoto closes it. There's a bit of conflict behind it, but hopefully he's able to get something said. "Please wait. I'm trying to research something for an investigation. Could you please let me enter your room?" Naturally, this 'investigation' is simply learning the manners and layout of the dormfolk, as there isn't much of another realistic reason for Akihiro to be opening doors to begin with. It's a half-truth, but it will do. Wait for his response.
  21. Wrote this for Solidbatman's challenge. It seems to be working well, so I'd like some feedback in the event that I decide to pick it up for later. Seems it has potential. As for Wondeffullyevil, the core problem is that, well, nothing's happening. Frankly it's a bit difficult to read, because of two primary reasons that I can decipher, but most importantly is that there's nothing interesting going on. Mostly exposition and telling everyone each other's names, but if this isn't the first page the reader sees (Unless this is some In Medias Res it probably isn't) then you don't need that exposition to understand the scene, and if it is then there's nothing interesting enough to keep them reading past the first paragraph. Secondly is the lack of description, in that we can't even imagine the scene strongly enough to jump in. Usually the reader is able to jump into the story's world because the descriptions give us a vector to enter it through our senses, but when they're lacking the story just becomes a jumbled mess of words as opposed to the illusion of a real world. Just 'it's a graduation party' and 'they're sitting at a table and eating' isn't enough. Sight, sound, smell, the way the wind blasts through an open window, maybe the rain hitting the ground or a crack of lightning, to the way the red velvet drapes hang down from the windows. There's a fine line to be drawn in that too much description can slow down the pacing, but it's important. Personally I'd cut the scene regardless of where it is in the story - if it's just before the conclusion then you just cut to the important part of the conclusion, if it's the first thing the reader sees then find a stronger scene to work from. As an example of a first line, Get the important details out of the way as soon as you can, but leave enough hidden that it draws the reader in with mystery. Description is key. Perhaps the scene takes place in a wine cellar of some sort, maybe there's a fancy ball/party going on upstairs. Does the music reach this far down? Could anyone above hear the scream? Does the man have beads of sweat dripping down from his face? Is he wounded himself? How does he cover his tracks? Maybe he lights a match and sets fire to the cellar? Maybe a friend calls him and asks if he's okay, assuming and implying that Amy was trying to break up with the protagonist? Maybe the conversation continues as he's running out of the building? Maybe the fire causes an explosion? Then maybe at the end of the scene, the viewpoint character ends up dead, and the rest of the characters end up having to solve both their murders at the start of the story. Or something.
