  1. Did anybody here read this? It's one of my all time favorite story. (You can find more reviews at Goodread). At nearly 1.7 million words long, it's quite a read, and I couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it with a case of sleep deprivation after a week. The first 6-7 arcs are a bit slow but it picked up speed quickly, and while certainly not perfect, it definitely deserve a read for those who're interested in (semi) dark superpowered story.
  2. I actually like Chisato in Koichoco. I dislike Key's art style, and due to that have problems getting into Rewrite and Clannad.
  3. Well, I'm currently playing, finished Chisato's route, I think it was OK. But now I have problem finishing other route, kind of feel like I'm betraying her feeling.... Yes, she can be a jerk when it involve the protag, but otherwise, she's pretty nice, and I just have issue with ignoring her feeling like that. I just... feel very bad about letting people down.
  4. I don't mind pervy protag, but only if they respects the ladies, and remembers that "no means no".
  5. The only thing I can say is that if you feel troubled, you should go talk to a shrink or something. And I don't mean any offense, just that taking care of your mental health is very important, and should help you dealing with your issues better. Since I'm not trained in psychology, keep in mind that any advice I can give would be unreliable at best, and actively harmful at worst, and I imagine that would be the same for most posters here. Therefore I won't give you any, except that seeking professional helps is usually the best course of actions in any situation, whether medical-related or not.
  6. Well, I have this: NGE x The Culture (scifi novel series by Iain M. Banks) https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/you-may-not-be-the-coolest-person-here-nge-culture.25502/
  7. Just finished it Komomo (best tsundere) = **** (seems like unpopular opinion, I dunno, I guess I'm a sucker for the fragile, vulnerable ones) > Kosame > Asuno > Mare (too short IMO) > Aoi (forced drama, generally boring) > Chinami (sorry deer, I just can't get into the whole incest thing). The technobabble made me cringe (HOW UNSCIENTIFIC), and some of the H-scenes can be a bit too random. Overall still enjoyable.
  8. Not really. Many authors, such as J. K. Rowling, has stated that they're fined with fan works. Fan artists in comic cons are also pretty common.
  9. Technically, fan stuffs that are not parodies are illegal, in the sense that the owner of the property can sue your ass, and might win. Most companies don't bother with it because they're both free advertising and going after fans can result in huge backslash, not to mention even if they win the financial gain would be minimal, if there is any at all. However, there are exceptions.
  10. As a rule of thumb, if something exists, some people will have it as a fetish.
  11. Annnyyyway, if it cost more than 40$, I think I'll wait for Steam sale.
  12. Well, it's on Steam, so Valve's "Soon" is nothing out of the ordinary. I mean, they released something in June 45th because they promised to release it in June .
  13. "These days, most problems, even seemingly really tricky ones, could be handled by simulations which happily modelled slippery concepts like public opinion or the likely reactions of alien societies by the appropriate use of some especially cunning and devious algorithms, nothing more processor-hungry than the right set of equations need be applied. But not always. Sometimes, if you were going to have any hope of getting useful answers, there really was no alternative to modelling the individuals themselves, at the sort of scale and level of complexity that mean they each had to exhibit some kind of discrete personality, and that was where the Problem kicked in. Once you had created your population of realistically reacting and - in a necessary sense - cogitating individuals, you had - also in a sense - created life. The particular parts of whatever computational substrate you had devoted to the problem now held beings; virtual beings capable of reacting so much like the back-in-reality beings they were modelling - because how else were they to do so convincingly without also hoping, suffering, rejoicing, caring, living and dreaming? By this reasoning, then, you could not just turn off your virtual environment and the living, thinking creatures it contained at the completion of a run or when a simulation had reached the end of its useful life; that amounted to genocide. So, ironically, you could not effectively model the outcome of a moral problem - or at least certain important classes of moral problems - with any hope of getting a useful or reliable answer, without encountering a moral issue in the simulation itself." - The Hydrogen Sonata.
  14. I recently finished Kindred Spirits on the roof, and find their style pretty neat. Can anybody recommend some of their other noteworthy titles?

    Books!

I just picked up Vacuum Diagram - Xeelee sequence, by Stephen Baxter. It's my first "hard" scifi.
  16. Do VN count as "games"? Regardless, my avatar is Galacta, daughter of Galactus, cosmically powered planet eater in an Alt World oneshot by Marvel comic. If VN are not "game", she'll fit right into Dota 2 with all the eldritch abominations running around there. If VN are considered games, then Hoshizora no memoria just get a lot more... interesting. Star gazing? How about stars visiting .
  17. I only played Kindred Spirits on the roof, but that's my general impression of them too. Nothing too over the top, simple and kinda cute/sweet. And I liked the art. Looks a lot more "realistic" than the normal VNs.
  18. Pokemon >>> All DS all the way.
  19. When in doubt https://www.random.org/
  20. Well, for starter, it's from 4chan, so because even 4chan is capable of making something good, it'll restore your hope in humanity.
  21. I'll tentatively wait for reviews before consider buying. It's pretty cheap tho, so that's a plus. And I really hope that this means you can befriend every heroine without needing to romance them. Like the developer said, usually you have to give other girls cold shoulders to avoid accidentally trigger their flags. I'd love to be friendly with everybody but still stick with romancing only one.
  22. " — My name would be something like Grey Area in your language. What gives me the right to crawl inside your brains, as you put it, is the same thing that gave you the right to do what you did to those you murdered; power. Superior power. Vastly superior power, in my case. " - General Contact Unit Grey Area, Excession.
  23. I don't know how to classify myself... I mean, I'm here, so obviously I do play VNs, but I also love Western movies/TV, read mostly western books and comics, play both western and eastern games, have no interest in learning Japanese, and rarely watch anime, but do read some manga.
  24. I mean, nowadays, if I want to fap, I just go to porn sites. I read/play VNs just for the story.
  25. If my heart had wings is pretty nice.
