In case I didn't say it clearly, above: the full list of awards is in the "Awards" tab. If people want to re-do the icons (40x40 px), I'm not attached to any of them.

A tabulation of feedback + my responses: Member of the Month “Though I think it would be nice to have special exceptions in the month if a user were to do something especially over the top and helpful.” – Stanleys (TAY: What do you mean by this?) “it could work by some kind of voting system.” – maefdomn A lot of people are creeped out by the wording of the MotM box and suggested it be replaced by my note in the “N” box. I’m not able to modify the text at the moment, sorry! I’m not sure where would be best to put the MotM stuff. I could move it around on the index sidebar every few days so we can see what it looks like/find a position we like. During the start of the month (first day or two when the new MotM is announced) I think I’ll even make it a banner. Facebook Bar “I don't personnaly like the facebook feature, because it doesn't blend with the website well (blue<>green) and it doesn't feel necessary.” – maefdomn A lot of people echoed that sentiment. I’ll try and see what I can do about it, but I doubt there’s much I can fix. I thought having a FB link on the forums index would be a good way to bolster our FB activity. I’d appreciate more feedback. I’ll change it IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS RIGHT NOW Right now I’m trying to find a way to let users choose which awards show up on post view (under your user info when you post on the site), but I’m not having much success. That might come later. For now we may be stuck with a “these are the latest awards given to this member” sort of approach. My ability to auto-award posts is very limited atm. They’re all done pretty much by hand. Thus I’m going to need to hold off on awards like, “Joined the site in 2012” or “Posted 200 times in the Introduce Yourself forum”. It would quickly become a full-time job to identify everybody who qualified. AND A FEW MORE IDEAS One award idea I’d like to try is allowing certain members of the community to hand out awards. For example, if Batman is interested, he could be the guinea pig and could come up with an award idea – pass it by me – and then abuse you poor souls until you earn it. He’d let me know when somebody earned the award, and then I’d grant it. (Actual offer, Batman. Let me know.) (You’ll need to make your own icon, though) Thanks to everybody who wants me to have an award! I decided to wait on that because A) Self-congratulations is tacky , and B) There are dozens and dozens of people who deserve their own award. I figure if I don’t have an award, they won’t feel quite so left out. Once life slows down I’ll work on adding more unique awards! (Also, I’d be interested if anyone had ideas for ways to “qualify” for having your own award. Maybe a list of requirements like post count, time on the forums, good looks, and swearing fealty to myself? Maybe not all those things, but I’d absolutely be up for a method for users to earn their own award) I mentioned that I don’t know when the “choose which trophies to display” functionality will work. Until then, are we okay with just showing the last six? Did you want to do fewer? More? Aaaah. Somehow, coming from Beato, this stings worst of all… ; P

I'm looking into how to change the wording there. I didn't write it, just FYI. The language was so beautifully alien, though, I couldn't bring myself to delete it just yet : ). EDIT: Also, we can add room for more trophies. We can display 9, 12, or however many. Six seemed like a decent jumping off point, though. (People can add trophies to their signatures and other places, too. More info on this later)

It was just me working on it. Thus the reason it took so long ;P. Thank you for the feedback -- and yes, please, I'd love ideas from everybody. I think there's a lot of potential here: tournaments, competitions, giveaways... you name it. Edit: Hold on a second! Now I see why you were suddenly more active, Tay! You sly dog! xD Click on the "Awards" tab. They should all be there, now . You're very good at this.

Aww... Sorry, Flutterz! Truth be told: I ran into tons of problems, so I only was able to implement ~half of what I wanted to do today. A lot of the work today was under-the-hood stuff, but some of the stuff (like the changes to the board index, MotM, and awards) are very visible. My brain's fried from working on this stuff, but I'd really appreciate it if all of you would share your thoughts on the recent changes and help me come up with good ideas for how to have fun with this awards system. We can do contests, tournaments, and more. I made a topic in the improvement board to get feedback/ideas. Please let me know what you think, and please help me come up with fun ideas for the future.

Hello everybody, I hope the maintenance today didn’t bother too many of you. If your posts were eaten by bouts of maintenance, at least you can take solace in the knowledge that you weren’t alone. I managed to get through approximately half of the work I wanted to do, so that’s good. (It also means that more maintenance will be coming, but I haven’t planned a time for it, yet). You’ve probably noticed some of the changes: Member of the Month – A new tradition is born! Each month we’ll be choosing a member of the community to spotlight/celebrate. If the member’s up for it, I’d love to do a community spotlight on the Visual Novel Aer blog, too. I haven’t decided on how we should pick each month’s MotM – do you have any suggestions? Should it be a nomination system? Something else? I’d love to hear your thoughts. We now have a Facebook blurb on the index. Does it look okay? Any complaints/suggestions? A lot of under-the-hood improvements/maintenance was carried out. Please report bugs! And… most important of all… AWARDS! (Please, please, please share your thoughts on this! Help me make this cool!) Fuwanovel is now the proud parent of an awards system. By default we have two “classifications” of awards: honors and achievements. Honors are bestowed for any reason under the sun, and achievements refer to accomplishing actions which help the site. I'm still ironing out some kinks in the system, though. I’ve created a handful of awards, but I need suggestions for more! LOTS more! Help me think of honors/achievements and please suggest icons to go along with them, too! (need to be 40x40 pixels). Right now I made awards for: HONORS: Personalized awards for the staff (more coming for former staff, just ran out of time) HONORS: The year you joined Fuwanovel (2012 gets a special one because it was the rebirth year of the site) Not working. ACHIEVEMENTS: Post count milestones (the forums rank system (the pips under the avatars) celebrates milestones up to 300 posts, but these badges go up much, much further) ACHIEVEMENTS: Posting walkthroughs will get you honors. You qualify for progressively higher and higher ranking awards for 1, 3, 5, and 10 walkthroughs (some of our members already got to 10!) But this is just the beginning! We could make awards for those who “lived through” Fuwapocalypse 1, 2 and 3. We could make awards for the people who won Batman’s giveaways (and those who survived them – which is an achievement in its own right!). We need to make an honor for batman and others who do giveaways. What about ways to earn your own honor (like I made for some of the members/staff)? Etc. et. Etc. Will you help me think of more ideas? Also, some of the icons are pretty crappy. I’m absolutely game for changing them out.

I'd like to congratulate Down -- he's been chosen as the first in a new tradition of highlighting fantastic members of our community each month. Down works tirelessly to make sure our walkthroughs are up to date. He does a lot of the moderator work. He's always polite, his comments are insightful, and I'm personally honored to call him a friend. I'll be posting more information about Members of the Month in the future, but for now, please congratulate our friend, Down, for this achievement. We're very, very thankful for all you do!

The VNDS converter unlocks all routes: something I don't like (The order of Fate route >UBW route > HF route is important in my opinion). But, yes, they're all there.

You've got great taste in writing books! Those three in the same series "Scene and Structure", "Description", and "Characters in Viewpoint" (< - my favorite of the three) are some of the best writing books I've ever encountered. They're the main series I recommend to people. EDIT: I missed seeing "Dialog" there, too. Another good one. Also, I've never played ONE. You say you really loved it, huh?
