  1. Yep got stuck there too. This is the moment you need to ask someone to write a program that would extract the text from the .ybn files. You might try making a request maybe someone who has the necessary knowledge and will write something for you.
  2. Hello there, Well someone contacted me that he would be able to write a tool specifically for the game I was talking about here. Try using AE VN Tools, if the game you'd like to translate is compatible, you'll be able to both unpack and repack it. The tool can recognize the format the game uses. If it fails you can simply open a topic here and people are most likely to help you. That's what the forums are here for after all =).

  4. We are looking for what to translate after we're done with Pure Pure IN ADVANCE! After we are done with the 1st project I want to jump to another asap and I don't want to waste time with hacking and stuff. I like to have things sorted and prepared beforehand so I don't waste any time. You what they say: "Victory loves preparation!"
  5. Hello everyone, Since Pure Pure project is more than half finished we are slowly looking for another game we could pick. What caught my interest is another VN made by Klein https://vndb.org/v12354 This VN, however, uses the YU-RIS Game Engine v463 (0xFF). Extracting the files from the package wasn't any problem as AE VN Tools were able to read this format but repacking and scripts are bit of a problem. I tried editing the menu buttons and repacking them but I ran into three issues: AE VN tools don't have the v463 of the engine available for repacking as you can see in the screen shot below: So I tried going with the v490 and v287 In case of v490 the game told me that the files in the package are duplicated and therefore the game cannot be opened, see below: In case of v287 the game didn't even recognize the package: What I'm asking here is: Is there any way how to successfully repack the cg and stuff in order for the game to work? And which tools I can use for extracting the text from the .ybn script format. It's encoded so even HEX editor shows a pretty mess. Every advice is very much appreciated!

  9. Thank you very much! But please don't get your hopes too high. It's our 1st experience so we learned everything necessary during the progress and this is my 1st actual VN translation from JP to English. I've been translating only letters and e-mails for one company before jumping into this. So please put this into consideration, mistakes are most likely to appear even with dual proofreading by native English speakers. That's another reason why we picked an old novel. We are basically all fans of this in the group.

  11. Update: So I managed to make a slight progress thanks to @Huang Ling Yin. What happened: I managed to extract the scripts from the .csx file using csxtools as you can see below The .eri pictures can be opened with old Photoshop 7 - another problem solved. But one last problem still remains and that's importing the script files back into the .csx That's where the csxtools fails because upon setting a comand, the application just closes and does pretty much nothing and unfortunately the game goes directly into the .csx file to read the scripts so putting them into the root folder does NOT work. Basically if I am able to find someone who used to write programs in pascal we might be able to TL the game otherwise there's no way translating it (or would you like some powerpoint presentation? =D). That's all I have to say regarding this game. (Also that the entisgls engine is the ultimate TRASH!!!)... I've never had such issues with a game that is 12 years old... I admit defeat...

Hello, Some of you already know me because I am in charge of Pure Pure TL project (for those who don't know: here) Anyway another VN caught my interest and our group decided to go with it after we've finished Pure Pure (I hope we are able to finish it by the summer...) But I ran into several issues. Hacking Pure Pure was somewhat a piece of cake but this novel (Wanko to Lily) is giving me a hard times here. I managed to open all the CGs, characters and stuff but the issue comes with the main menu and scritps. Opening and editing the pictures in .eri format wasn't that hard, becase XnView is still a good partner for this. The issue came with the .noa files. I managed to open the .noa, extract the .noa... Everything in these archives is again in .eri extension (which, we already know, are picture files) BUT even XnView is unable to read these files after I've extracted them... So my questions are: 1st - How can I make these picture files readable so I can edit the menu into English? 2nd - Which files could possibly be the scripts? There is nothing else but the .eri files... If anyone has experience with this, I'll gladly accept all the help. Thank you in advance! Quick Fact: My group is focused on old, forgotten novels which were left untranslated and so we are just picking these and translate them. Pure Pure is our 1st project but I want to have things prepared in advance as much as possible so I can prevent issues like this one in the future.

  15. Ok so it is as I mentioned before. We are hiring someone to help with the proofreading. I won't say we want some uber grammar nazi and 30 years of experience. In short: 1. We want a native English speaker (USA, UK, Canada...) [Current proofreader is from the USA and so was the 2nd guy] 2. Have at least a basic experience with the HEX editing 3. Some little news: One of our proofreaders can't continue working on Pure Pure because of personal issues, we might look for someone else. I'll post some information regarding this matter soon. I first need to discuss this with the remaining proofreader whether he wants to continue alone or want me to find someone else.

  20. So guys, it is here! The new year! Thank you very much for your support in 2017! Let's remember this as the year where Pure Pure has been reborn again. And let the year 2018 be the year, where we finally can read and finish together the story of Sachi, Hinata, Miwa, Tobari, Midou and the MC Jun. I would've never imagined that we would get such a huge interest in so old novel and yet it has happened. I want to say, that you are all great and I hope the TL will be to your liking. I also want thank to the former FOTS translations because it's partly because of them that we are here finishing Pure Pure. And the last thanks goes to Fuwanovel who is still watching our progress and informs people about this project as well. We are very gratefull to all of you, it's also because of you that this project exists. Happy new year to everyone, stay healthy and let's enjoy more and more novels together!   24. Thanks for adding the pages. I used the Gyutto and also made a guide for non Japanese speakers (it's on our page I forgot to put it also here) so they can buy it, but I had no idea DMM has it too. And yeah, Wanko fans are surely going to like it. However this novel doesn't have as insane ending as Dote up a Cat. It's basically a story about growing the Mimikko... At least in my opinion. But it's ultra hard to translate it, since one of the characters uses Kansai dialect, so we are doing dual proofreading in order for the lines to make a sense and because I am not a native English speaker (as you can see... hehe...) Basically the progress is slower but the TL will be (I hope) higher quality. That's the reason why we want to release the chapter 2 as a "demo". I want to know the players' opinion and improve the TL based on the feedback, so I hope we will fulfill the expectations. That's all I can say for now.
