I did play it and found it enjoyable. The H-scenes were pretty solid too and the Mayor/Governor had some funny moments. Like you said the combat is simplistic, but interactive although I am concerned it has reached its apex and won't improve in vol. 2 or 3. I ended being able to beat all the side bosses after understanding what exactly the side character abilities did. Also if you never did, it's worth upgrading the block mitigation. It goes up to ~90% damage mitigation which ended up being why I was able to survive the mini-bosses. Definitely worth a play though as long as there is hope for the other volumes.

Tsujidou-san no Jun'Ai Road Discussion
skrewball717 replied to littleshogun's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Start with Tsujidou, the game is essentially about her 1 way or the other. I disliked Maki's route the most even tho she was my favorite heroine in the common route. I enjoyed Renna's route the most, so it just depends on whether you plan on playing it for all heroine routes or not. -

I'm...not even sure how to process this information. Trip bulldozed through the last 30% of that route like it was his plaything, finishing it in just over 2 weeks, release included. I understand why Maki's route left him salty, but all-in-all it was still an enjoyable VN. They are the gods of the English VN world right now. -
Not so much of a put-off as hard to believe given your groups' personal anonymity. Really we are hoping for the best, just...skeptical to say the least until more of the artwork comes out or the kickstarter/whatever begins. Part of the fear is for a game that long, the routes/artwork, particularly background, can become quite repetitive if not careful as well. I hope there are enough venues outside of the school so we aren't trapped in one place for a years worth of text, lol

The art is fine, but considering how long you expect this to be I'm just wondering if you are announcing this too early or if you just did a really poor job in explaining what your VN is to us...or possibly both? 800k words is very long regardless of standards, but also seems like quite the endeavor to partake if all you have done is what you have shown (basic character sprites and a loose summary) I'm hoping this is farther along than it seems and you will expand upon/edit you're first post to show how much you really have accomplished to this point (engine/background/progress/etc.) Also I am assuming you are a team of some sort and not just one person doing this all themselves, in which case it'd be a good idea to set up a website, twitter and other forms of social media to advertise not only your product, but your team/studio as well. Either way best of luck

Things that you want to see less of in Visual Novels
skrewball717 replied to Ranzo's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I feel like that's a rather extreme example, but anyway the topic is things you want to see less of, not eliminated entirely from existence. So that is one such scenario where it would be fine leaving the lock in tact, thinking along the line of more SoL type games where it occurs. -
Things that you want to see less of in Visual Novels
skrewball717 replied to Ranzo's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I would like to see less situations where locking into a heroine's route means the complete removal off all the other heroines from the game for the duration of that route. The stories can be unique while still involving all of the characters...it would also make the routes for less-liked heroines more enjoyable imo because you'd still get unique interactions with the heroine(s) you are a fan of. I'd also like less VNs that end right when you end up becoming intimate with a heroine. Less of, "we love each other, let's have sex, the end" situations and more VNs that go into what happens in later stages of relationships beyond when you start dating. Oh...less moege high school VNs in general...for the love of god -

Shiny Days has 3. Starless has one...but it's a pretty intense game. Hara Kano!! has a few if you're into pregnancy as well. As was said above, The Sagara Family has one as well. Actually surprised I haven't come across more that were actually "Milfs" being mothers of protag or other heroines.

Someone could make it into a standard walkthrough if they wanted. I don't feel like formatting it to Fuwanovel's walkthrough standards. -

There is a walkthrough bundled with the patch. It's an excel (.xlsx) file with each heroine having a tab. -

Quite a jump in progress, nice work there. -
Grisaia/G-string far and away are the best of the list for different reasons. Grisaia's common route has some great humor and endearing characters while also filling in some great drama and romance as you get deeper into it, but it is long. The common route is one of the longer I have come across. G-string doesn't have the humor as much, but it executes it's story probably better than Grisaia does. Very intense VN, but more than worth your time. Also a long VN though. If you just want to sit for a few hours, I thoroughly enjoyed the Nekopara series, they are cute, funny and if you patch is sexy as well. The voices and animation is top-notch. Though they are kinetic novels so no choices. Also, if you liked Tomoyo in Clannad, the Afterstory VN is a lot of fun for a variety of reasons, going through her and Tomoya's life together after School. Pretty pervy at times too

From their site " Once we’re finished with the Hatsukoi Appends, we’ll finally move on to Hoshi Ori. This VN is long, very very long. The game has 6 heroines, and as such it will probably take us the rest of 2018 and a good part of 2019 to fully translate the game. We’ve already decided on the first girl to translate, and I hope we can release her patch this year. " -

@FinalCloud Yeah Hatsukoi is very much a SoL VN. If the comedy of the situations doesn't float with you I can see how it would be a grind. I mean there is certainly some drama to come within each route and there are some really sweet moments. It's up to your likes/dislikes. Edit: Also if you like the style of Tsujidou-san, Majikoi is very similar (same company) and much funnier with a wider range of characters. If you haven't read it yet. -

The Saeko route is a similarly short side route to what you will find in Majikoi. Also it's not on the list to be translated next (I think it might be last, but I'm too lazy to check). The Ai route was just released and accounts for about 1/3 of the words in the entire game. The VN itself is a lot of fun and I think you would enjoy it. Good comedy and likable heroines with a well fleshed out setting. The protog isn't as cool as majikoi, but he's far from annoying either and stands by his morals. Give it a go. -

Congrats on finishing the TL. I would love to help but unfortunately, I have zero Japanese reading skills so all I can do is wish you best of luck on finishing this project up. No easy thing sticking with a project for years as you have. -

http://www.tmz.com/2017/07/20/linkin-park-singer-chester-bennington-dead-commits-suicide/ Such a sad day and huge loss for the music industry. Linkin Park has been my favorite band since HT first came out back in elementary school, so this is truly crushing. You will be missed Chester. Plan on solemnly listening to LP for a while. Really in total shock.

Welcome to the Ballroom is the aots obviously. Tenshi no 3P! was really cute and caught my attention. Knights & Magic has had better action scenes than I expected early on. Restaurant to Another World...what can I see. Anime about food are rarely unsatisfying. Kakegurui had a fun psychological aspect, tho the agehao faces are a bit over the top. Classroom of the Elite should be another good psychological show, tho the obliviousness of the students in the first ep was a bit frustrating. In Another World With My Smartphone's future is all in the hands of the adventure portion, because we all know it is going to be an unsatisfying romance. Speaking of adventure, Made in Abyss is great at it. Can't wait for episode 3.
