1P1A replied to Gogen-Soft's topic in Original Projects
This is the first thing I think of too when I wake up. -
xD Japanese to headers the all changed just have should you, worst absolute the is This.

As long as it's not something overly abstract and nonsensical. I hate when the author throws shit out like "it's open to interpretation," yeah go fuck yourself you snob.

That one game you're embarrassed to admit you have...

I have that dating sim with pigeons in my Steam library. -
Ignore the trolls. Don't try learning something time consuming with half-hearted resolve. If you have the drive to do so, you can. Check out the /r/learnjapanese starter's guide, if you're actually interested. If you can, definitely go with your native language; however, the resources may be limited. There's no reason you can't use both.

I have a shitty memory, so basically, if I'm able to recall the story at all, I obviously enjoyed it. I don't have a ranking system, really.

What is wrong with reading a bad translation?

Most controversial issues boil down to something like this. There's a way to invoke it, but it's not at all practical. -

This is what happens when translators get paid per word/character instead of quality. This is as it should be. It's up to the company/group themselves to figure out what went wrong (or right). -

Great prose, and an accurate translation. Unfortunately, there's nobody active in the VN industry who has both of these, so the bar is already low. Shitty prose, incomprehensible dialogue, and inconsistencies throughout. If the story doesn't read smoothly, then it's obvious the translator doesn't have a proper command of the language. -
Company decides to resurrect a dead-meme game. This will be a good opportunity to see if people who cared about this game moved on with their lives or not.

Harold Dating Sim. I thought it would provide at least a meme-level laugh.

I've never bought directly from JAST, but maybe you got flagged for being underage? Sometimes businesses will email you later with verification requirements.

Clockwork Leyline and Hoshimemo: What actually happened!
1P1A replied to -soraa's topic in Visual Novel Talk
From what I remember from a Reddit thread, there was a person (or people) who claimed to be beta testers and submitted these exact problems. There's always the chance that they're full of shit and just using it as an excuse to further bash on Sekai, but it's really not necessary at this point. -
You should be fine then. Some VNs you have to double touch (double tap?) to advance a line of text, but it's not a big deal and you get used to it.
-
You would experience the same compatibility issues any other windows 10 device would, if applicable. The specs for that specific device are fine for 95% of visual novels that are compatible with windows 10. Only recent releases, or heavy game-play VNs, have high requirements, e.g. Rance X/Chronobox require >=2GHz processors. My tablet is 2GB ram, 1.33GHz, and I've only had issues with recent releases.
-
I prop myself up in bed with my tablet. I only read before bed since I'm the type of person that, if I sit still, I fall asleep mentally, and I have lots I need to do during the day.

Probably Rengo from Extravaganza. I've always liked characters who are through-and-through delinquents, and not the generic high school trouble maker.
-
Funny how you claim I can't read yet you're bringing into the discussion a medium that wasn't overtly mentioned. You must be one of those people who watches a movie and goes "Eh, the book was better". I never said anything about the anime being good, I simply said that you likely won't enjoy it if you don't enjoy the shock deaths, and such. The manga has nothing to do with this. Say it one more time, they say third times the charm.

You don't really have much to choose from on PS4--you would have a ton more to look at if you had a Vita. Pick something that looks like a moege/slice of life, they are typically easy to read.
-
Go to vndb.org, and browse to the Releases section. Filter results: Platform -> PS4; Original Language -> Japanese. Not everything is going to be available digitally through the Sony store, though. PS4 is definitely not very popular for VN releases.

It's all just edgy shock deaths, and torture porn anyways. If you don't enjoy that, it's definitely not for you.
