TyranoBuilder is not recommended. It's a barebones editor with little options and a high prize tag. Renpy can do a lot more and it's free. The only drawback would be learning it but there's plenty of tutorials out there. Tyrano's only advantage ought to be the drag and drop mechanics and that alone is not enough to justify its use.

While it's generally a better idea to add this to existing troubleshooting topics. This is by no means mandatory, so don't mind what Segai said. If us mods or GMs tell you that this should be merged/or merge it ourselves then you'll know it's out of place. We usually avoid bossing around, so don't worry. To avoid having trouble with overzealous members, why not change the topic title to somethigng like "GLM's common VN fixes" and update it with more games and the solutions you tried and know of? That'd be nice. The tech support section needs a lot of love.

I'd love to say that I have a 3TB HDD that I totally not bought just to cram inside my 5.34 TBs worth of porn, but.. sadly I can't compete. I'm not sure if you guys are really serious about having more than 80 GB of porn but that's beyond overkill, even if you had 1080p porn videos among that huge pile of lechery how can you have such overblown numbers?! XD I have like.... *checks* ....1.4 GB of porn. adding up 2D + 2D vids and 3D vids, about half of that is pants- err..nvm. And I thought over 1gig of porn was too much ._. Now I've seen everything.

Win 10 comes with preloaded codecs for most video formats. It includes .MKV and other less common ones. Unless you use super obscure video formats, you won't need to install extra codecs on windows 10. Edit: if you watch 10bit anime, you will need extra codecs.

Everything from Overdrive is utter shit. Dengeki stryker is their only saving grace.

Kendjin! Long time no read! Back on topic, Blood drive is so poorly optimised it won't be worth getting. Think of Borderlands 2, vita version (20 fps most of the time and 10-15 when turning your flashlight on, also crashes.) You can go to youtube and see how poorly blood drive performs.

Hello FUWA! Some of you already know me so I don't really need an intro but we can't have that. It would be rude So, I'm Helvetica Standard, "Helv" for short, "Veti" for some others. (so I suppose you can call me however you like xD ) I'm currently project leader for Violet Hill and recently decided to join Sammeh's project as a Programmer. I'm looking forward to seeing this VN come to fruition and I give you all my warmest regards.

Ideally a list of available tags would be made, just like there is for Ongoing Projects, so users can pick from those and use the main one as a prefix. Yeah that could be pretty bad. However I would like to take this opportunity to humbly request for tagging powers for us board mods. It would be nice to have for our relevant boards at least. For example 2 new OELVN threads have been moved to Ongoing, one by Eclipsed and another by me. Both threads lack tags and we can't add those till a Gmod realises it or project leaders ask for it.

I'm just gonna give you my honest thoughts: You want to make a VN? go for it. Let no one tell you otherwise. Be driven by your passion and motivations and never be discouraged because there will be trouble, walls, skeptic people, negative feedback and such. you keep pushing forward and stay strong. Your will is going to fuel the inspiration of many and people will join you in your endeavour sooner or later. Why I'm telling you this? Because 1.5 years ago I started this journey the same way you did. Alone, armed only with my love for VN's and no previous knowledge on what to do. Now we have an established project and our team is full of kind, talented people driven by the same motivations and towards the same goal. Don't give up and be true to your goal and your project will never die. PS. I'm glad you read the resources we have here. They are there to help encourage people like you with the dream of making a VN. The ren'py guide (made by yours truly) is a WIP and I plan to add more to it when I have the time.
