  1. A Fuwanovel forums member introduction thread. *looks at solidbatman incredulously, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world*
  2. *summons succubuses to possess the lolis, then sets them on the dwellers of the thread*
  3. *dances the welcome dance, wailing loudly while juggling the severed heads of cloned lolis*
  4. Eustia, blech. *vomits*
  5. Get on #fuwanovel I'm pretty sure there is a group connected to Fuwa that was looking into working on a Saga Planets game but wasn't willing to do Hatsuyuki because another group was already doing it. I'd suggest you call out to the people there and ask them to merge with your group, since they apparently have a translator.
  6. lol... well, good luck with that. Look on the bright side, your first one in Japanese wasn't Jingai Makyou, like mine was. That game was a nightmare for a first-timer...
  7. mmm... if you get desperate, you might resort to visual novel reader, though VNR is as clunky as hell to get to display romaji and it only does it over the kanji, as I recall, with no dict function.
  8. lol... I don't remember the last time I had to highlight it... but I remember doing so at the beginning. It is a tool that I only ever used for technical jargon... so I guess I'm not quite there on understanding how others feel on that issue. Basically Hime and Izumi (I think that's her name) are the only humans at that school, and because humans started and kept the war between the worlds going for so long, they are the subjects of persecution by the rest of the school. The exception is the dragon-loli, who loves the protagonist and a few others here and there who admire their willingness to keep on in the face of all that hatred. I think they might have mentioned that the dragons have an incredibly low population due to their high death rate during the war and that the demons and gods are in a sort of uneasy peace mostly predicated on the efforts of the legendary hero. Hime can't use magic (for reasons that will become evident shortly), but Izumi is a specialist in speed and wind magic through the use of her ritual weapon (a pair of twin katanas). Hime makes up for his lack by thinking ahead, sharpening his skills with a sword, and predicting his enemy's moves... but he is still lowest in the class, pretty much.
  9. Basically Jparser is integrated into Translation Aggregator... let me give you a pic of my screen. Basically, close all the windows inside TA except Jparser, then use the config menu for it (the wrench sign) to set the furigana size and what you use for them (hiragana, katakana, romaji). Attach ITH to the game itself as well (not forgetting to run both as administrator if you are using later-version Windows) and make sure to highlight 'auto copy to clipboard' in options.
  10. Dude, use translation agg and jparser (I assumed you intended to do so, since you'd have to have all the commonly used kanji (at least eight hundred) to be able to read it without it. No matter how much kanji you know, it isn't enough. There will always be kanji you don't get. Also, Tiny Dungeon is about as low as you can get (well, besides Draculius) without the game being pure crap. Only nukige and Feng-style moege can get away with being 'lighter' than that linguistically... and both defy the idea of a good vn. Also, set jparser to romaji. If you know the grammar you shouldn't have any problems.
  11. And October's winner is... Walkure Romanze More&More (http://vndb.org/v10983). Normally I wouldn't choose a fandisc as game of the month, but the original game was a decent seishun drama and charage with an interesting setting that made a good case for loving each of its heroines. In addition, this game followed in its footsteps quite well by giving three new unique routes that maintained the quality of the original (in addition to two of the heroines being ones everybody wanted in the first one, lol) while not trying to copy the original's paths. For this, I felt confident that I was right to view this game as a game in and of itself, capable of standing on its own within limits. For those who want to ask about Cocoro@Function, I decided not to choose it for a very simple reason... they shafted two of the heroines with non-paths that turn them into sub-heroines put there only for loli h-scenes. It hit one of my major pet peeves (if you aren't going to have a main heroine whose route beats all the others in quality, then all the heroine routes should contain roughly the same amount of content and depth of story). However, if you stick to the other three routes, you do get a decent quality charage with nice - if not great - individual heroine routes. For those interested in Usotsuki Ouji to Nayameru Himesama, check my comments thread on vndb. Standard Whirlpool fare does not equal worthy of game of the month, in my mind. For those who were interested in Chiisana Kanojo... think your typical shallow moege that is almost a nukige and you will have a picture of what it was like. The Monobeno fandisc is your standard fandisc, unlike the Walkure Romanze one, and, as such, it wasn't a serious candidate.
  12. *gives the lolis his usual loli-yuri aphrodisiac and locks them in a room with cameras and a one-way mirror*
  13. I uninstalled it quite some time ago. I have a tendency to extract to notepad any scenes I take a particular liking to linguistically, and I'm drawing from those for my selections so far. It isn't that far in (basically, its the point where the protag takes the irreversible step of accepting his fate, like all chuuni protags do, lol). Basically, after you see a cg of a girl carrying around a decapitated head, you will be there by the next scene. If you are interested, that is.
  14. If you understand enough Japanese to be confident about JLPT 2... Here are some recommendations: Ruitomo Yurikago Yori Tenshi Made Dies Irae (if you are up for a challenge) Tiny Dungeon (the series) Akatsuki no Goei (the entire series) Comyu (if you don't want to wait for the patch) Devils Devel Concept (same as Dies Irae) Jingai Makyou (same as above, lol) Evolimit Ayakashibito Bullet Butlers Tokyo Babel (not ero, but great anyway) Shinigami no Testament Konata yori Kanata Made (if you don't mind a bit of utsuge, this is literally the best one ever) Eden* Hapymaher Boku ga Tenshi ni Natta Wake (utsuge, protag is very anti-romance, has mostly bad/normal/sad endings, but protag isn't a disgusting sack of crap like in School Days) Natsu no Owari no Nirvana (most of the game is nakige, save for true ending) Phantom of Inferno (downside to Japanese version is that the narration isn't voiced, but it is still a great game) Tenshi no Hane wo Fumanaide Sinclient Vermilion Bind of Blood Kajiri Kamui (if you are a masochist, because it is literally the hardest to read VN I've ever encountered, linguistically... reminded me of a slightly easier version of the Kojiki at some points) Izuna Zanshinken Gekkou no Carnevale Gurenka Hatsuyuki Sakura (gets seriously dark on some of the paths) Midori no Umi (horror, utsuge) Chrono Belt (if you finish Ayakashibito and Bullet Butlers and want to meet certain antagonists again) Draculius Soukou Akki Muramasa Sousei Kitan Aerial (post-apocalyptic survival/sci-fi mecha action... also Muv-luv Alternative imitation in some ways) Tsuisou no Augment (Very good comedy about a guy who kills himself in his old age, then is offered a chance to relive his youth) Abyss Homicide Club (horror/action doujin VN, as Kaguya for the links I gave him if you have trouble finding it) Bloody Rondo (if you play all of the above and still want more) Monobeno Kurenai no Tsuki Harumade Kururu (once you get past the weird, semi-nukige stuff at the beginning, this game is great) Natsukumo Yururu Sakura, Sakimashita (an interesting exploration of the ideas of freedom from aging in the face of imminent death) Re: Birth Colony Fake Azure Arcology Para-sol Shuumatsu Shoujo Gensou Alicematic Soranica Ele Paradise Lost (if you decide to challenge Dies Irae, this is its sort-of prequel, though that doesn't become clear until the end of Kajiri Kamui) Trouble@Vampire If you want gameplay as well: Ikusa Megami Zero Madou Koukaku Ouzoku (reminds me of Rance, except the protag isn't a psychopath, just a genius who likes women) Soukoku no Arterial Meishoku no Reiki (this game is really, really dark and the protag is evil in the grand 'the world is my toy' way) lol... if you make your way through those, everything seems easy.
  15. *chews on a chunk of raw meat, failing to mention what it is* ... welcome... *ignores the wails of agony coming from the pouch at his hip*
  16. lol... for those who want a reference point on how hard this scene is in relation to the rest of Dies Irae... I'd say it is a bit above the middle. The daily-life scenes are the easiest, with the combat scenes, as well as Mercurius' and Reinhardt's conversations, being the hardest. If you have seen Legend of the Galactic Heroes, you will probably recognize Reinhardt's way of speaking (saying 'kei' when he says 'you' for instance), and Mercurius speaks in a slightly melodramatic, slightly archaic dialect. Since Mercurius is the one speaking in most of the scene (save for the last dozen or so lines and the two lines where Marie is speaking) you can get an idea of what it is like. To be honest, I wanted to post a playthrough video of this scene, simply because it is one of those rare scenes that has impact on its own, even without the game's greater context.
  17. *implants the loli with nanomachines that eat everything she touches, turning it into gray mush*
  18. Welcome. *turns the loli into a vampire*
  19. *pulls Enuma Elish out and smashes down Excalibur on a whim before ripping a whole in the stratosphere and ending all life on the planet* Whoops. *reverses time so that the world doesn't die*
  20. Damn, that's slow. Usually when there is more than two seeders, i can usually get an average of about 75-100 kbps... oh well.
  21. *silently sharpens a saw-toothed knife, a bone-saw, and a large iron spike, whistling cheerily all the time* Welcoooommmmeee.....
  22. Welcome. *begins warming up the grill*
  23. And the winner is... Dies Irae. Well, here you go, cry your eyes out. For now, since those who wanted pics with the scenes are leading, I went ahead and posted a pic for it. There are now two free slots for the potential scene for next week. If we don't get anymore votes, it'll be Jingai Makyou, though. Please vote again if you voted for Dies Irae.
  24. I use utorrent myself. Welcome to the forums.
  25. Black and White, Dragon, Birth, Slave. That's the literal order, though you can switch Dragon and Birth without causing problems. However, Black and White has to be first and Slave last. Slave is the series' conclusion and Black and White is the intro and Demon side.
