Free stuff makes any day worth celebrating. I had some pretty great birthdays growing up, so I guess that's why I look at it that way. I got presents, had a party, ate great food... the works. I don't think you HAVE to celebrate it, but when life is the way it is, it's nice to have a day all about you that you can have some fun with.

I had to read that as summer reading for my junior English class, and I hated every minute of it. Chris McCandless was possibly the LEAST sympathetic person ice ever read about, and yet the narrative tries to paint him as this tragic, heroic figure. Because, you know, ignoring people's advice and going deep into the Alaskan wilderness is a mistake anyone could make, and we should all feel sorry that he inevitably died, right? ...sorry for the rant. But it's been almost 2 years, and the thought of that book still makes me angry.

I wasn't going to try this as it seems way too extreme for my tastes (not that I'm only into vanilla H-scenes, but.... damn), but morbid curiosity seems to have taken over yet again. Whoops. I haven't started it yet, but I'm prepared for the worst.

My least favorite is almost definitely Takeru from Muv Luv. Granted, I didn't like Muv Luv much to begin with, but having to deal with him for three whole games was borderline unbearable. Even in Alternative he pissed me off. I wasn't a fan of Rance either, but Yuuji was alright.
