  1. not really, sorry u.u next person enjoys their way home
  2. I think the video is definitely interesting, if only because it confirms some beliefs we may have held, and I don't know why people feel the need to throw their "oh I'm so cool I totally knew what was going to happen" at this thread. kinda bothers me to see so many people throw it away. So, yes, you can be as 'cool' as you want and say that you were super smart for 'knowing' that people are only selfish creatures, or whatever crap you want, but at a certain point it's just you being a cynical jerk. People are people, and the reasons behind why they give to the poor and in what ways they donate themselves to your definition of a 'greater cause' shouldn't be torn apart in such an uncaring and casual way. Yes, people like feeling good about themselves when they donate. No, the world isnt a filthy den of hypocrisy upon which civilization was founded. Yes, I'm hot and bothered. but mostly hot, the weather's been pretty crazy up here. It would suck to be homeless in Minnesota. //ugh mostly just me being angsty at all the ultra-downers in this thread. I do agree that giving money does not correspond perfectly with caring. In the end, if you choose to "care about the poor", you'll end up having to arbitrarily limit the scope of your efforts or die trying... or just end up giving something that you can afford to give to everyone (say, for example, the heart to do something about some random asshole who's saying "**** the poor"). also, Krill's comment was really interesting.
  3. Soon it became
  4. Absolutely true. The next person likes keeping one background instead of rotating backgrounds
  5. Basically Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website. People put up their hopeful projects with a video, some explanation, and some partially completed work to show off their idea and thy ask for people to donate various amounts to fund their project. The funders are generally rewarded with some piece of the final project in varying degrees. For example, if someone wanted to fund Icebound, they could give, say $10, and at that donation value, they would be promised an electronic copy of the VN when it is released. You should check it out, there's a lot of interesting stuff up there and it's a great thing, because it helps connect the people who want to make stuff with the people who are willing to give something to have it made. Crowdfunding is just fantastic in general imo, and there are some sick projects in the art/game/whatever interests you sections. https://www.kickstarter.com/ take a look around ;D edit: I saw Icebound sometime in january, so it's super cool to see it actually released! Defs on the "things to look into again" list!
  6. ahem... what? everything happens much faster, the only relaxing thing about this is that it's more casual >,> but casual is only a frame of mind I guess...

  9. I was under the impression that it would be pretty hard to fill that much space with just apps. Is this really a big deal? Most of my space goes into music and then I have a few gigs from my manga app, but I dont really know of any apps that take absurd amounts of space. Am I just foolish?
  10. hmmm, for general stuff there's quite a few things that are nice to have sitting around I guess.. Maps Google/Firefox/etc Skype is kinda sketchy on android (it works but it's highly resistant to being turned off, let's say) lots of manga raeders (what I use my phone for like 70% of the time xD I love it) gmail/email Netflix/Crunchyroll Wallbase Adobe Reader was a really useful one for reading books or downloading pdfs for schoolwork JED (Japanese English Dictionary) is my fav dictionary, but kanji recognizer could aslo be really useful in situations (untranslated ambient things in anime or vns) Anki if you're doing that ColorNote widget thingy (basically a notepad) Winamp for music is what I use youtube (I just use google browser tho) That basically concludes the apps I have on the screens in my phone (there are some other limited use ones like bank apps, MX Player for playing video files (except it doesnt work for 1080p I think), and there are some cool remote mouse and remote computer access apps that I havent personally gotten into, but look really useful. idk, probably 90% of it you had an idea of, but maybe a list is nice to have. Hope it helps, and I hope you use it well!
  11. Cephalopod Breakfast anyone? anyone? (hellooooooo) also very jealous of Nosebleed's wide range of tastes u.u
  12. curses, I've gained the enmity of a respected warrior of the forums, please... have your way with my sandwiches as payment for the trouble I have given you t.t (but dont do anything dirty with them, please... I beg of you)
  13. . Suddenly, the captain
  14. So, here's the deal guys... I like sandwiches as much as the next waffle, but I realize that I don't really eat them much anymore. A few days ago, though, at my dorm cafeteria I decided to get a sandwich. And then I was blown away. I got a turkey sandwich (white bread cause I like bland generic stuff, but I might go whole wheat sometime soon or something... I've heard enough anti-white-bread hate from like... everyone I know...), with american cheese, green peppers, tomatoes, chipotle sauce, lettuce, and then toasted it. It was pretty great, except next time I wont do the tomatoes... they dont really work (too mooshy and sweet) But I know how much everyone loves stuff and bread, so here I am with the (hopefully?) first (and probably last) official "Sandwich Contemplation Thread" where we share fond memories of many sammiches had and offer suggestions to those of us who have many sandwiches to go before reaching sandwichprenneurship. Or maybe people dont like sandwiches as much as I am hoping, but we'll see, hehe :3

  22. true! in a few mins methinks next person enjoys singing to themselves
  23. I used to spend a lot of time theorycrafting in video games, such as Diablo II, Starcraft, and League (of Legends), but that time in my life has faded with the onset of college. I'm currently trying to find something that makes me think and mentally engages me constantly in a way that manga, books, anime, and vns cannot (even though I love them oh so so much). I've actually been trying to find something to replace my lost one, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that I want to spend even more time than I already do on the aforementioned lovlies, so maybe I'll make being superior in my math and physics a hobby (I'm not there yet, gotta work hard to get the good results) so that the time I spend on my hobby and my school overlap... *devilish grin* So much time, but even more stuff to fill it with. I love the world.
  24. arakura

    Japan!

I was referring to the Tea Ceremony, but again, I'm not really knowledgeable. I was under the understanding that it was of a quite high and ritualized degree of solemnity. That's what I meant by 'methods of preparing'. It's not the largest of my concerns, but it is an interesting cultural facet I think (given that I understand it correctly)
  25. I'll be there! hopefully >,>
