  1. http://shoryuken.com/2014/12/19/examu-shares-more-screens-of-upcoming-visual-novel-fighter-nitroplus-blasters-heroines-infinite-duel/ Because if you thought Saya from Saya no Uta needed to be in a fighting game, well here ya go. Is anyone hyped about these characters? I haven't heard of most of them, but I figure people who play more VNs than I do might be excited.
  2. I'm a huge, HUGE Zero Escape fan, and I would agree with this statement. I think, on the whole, VLR is a better game, both puzzle wise and presentation wise, but I still like the setting and tone of 999 a bit more. 999 felt like you were always under pressure, trying to escape from a life or death situation, whereas VLR didn't have as much tension. I still highly recommend seeing both games to their conclusion; each is a fantastic ride with a lot of twists and turns along the way.
  3. Sorry for the late entry, but here you go. Since I'm no good with digital art, have this bead sprite. I've never tried making my own character with these, but I think it came out well. It's what I think an 8-bit detective might look like. Also guns are hard to make, okay?
  4. I fall into the "Read until you pass out" category. I'll burn through an entire novel in as few sittings as possible, even if that means pulling all nighters just to get farther. It's definitely an addiction; when the story is good, I don't stop. I read Steins;Gate in two days, for example. If I don't feel like marathoning it, then there's a good chance I'll just drop it for months at a time. So basically, learn to function with no sleep and take a long hiatus after every novel to cool down again if you want to take my approach. Oh and caffeine and sugar, those also help. ....my method isn't the healthiest, mind you.
  5. We apply for university in November, so by the time 2nd semester finals roll around, we've already been accepted provisionally in late March. We have to submit our grades for the whole year, but as long as you didn't flunk any classes they don't really care what you get.
  6. What I wouldn't give for an HD Nocturne on the Vita...
  7. Well I live in So Cal but I'm not getting more specific than that. What part of California are you from?
  8. This is probably PS3 only right? DDS is the only SMT series I haven't tried yet; it's worth picking up? I loved Nocturne.
  9. I'm in my final year of High School as well. Turns out our school has a policy where, in your final semester of Senior year, you're exempt from taking any finals so long as you have an 83% in the class and don't miss more than three days of school. I've never studied for finals anyways though.
  10. Welcome to the forums! I'm also studying computer science starting next year. I'd suggest reading Ever 17. It was my first VN, and I still think it's great. Hope you enjoy your stay!
  11. Because this is how Mellow operates. Honestly, you really ought to know this by now.
  12. Join the club. Expect to see some really horrible art from me and the other artistically inept contestants. Should be both hilarious and embarrassing.
  13. I would go back and take a look at that timeline they play during the credits sequence, it cleared up quite a few of my questions. As for the whole money thing, I think they mentioned at one point they got massive funding from the German pharmaceutical company, but it's hazy. Been almost a year since I played it xD
  14. So when I saw that thread title, I had no idea what to expect, and yet somehow when I clicked on it, this was exactly what I subconsciously expected. Don't ask me how that makes sense. Just let it be known that I'm crying right now, I cannot handle this being a thing. Thank you for gracing us with this Nosebleed, I haven't laughed this hard in a while.
  15. Paper Mario Sticker Star. As someone who played the hell out of the original and Thousand Year Door back in the day, I could not be more disappointed. I wanted it to be decent, but in the back of my head I always knew it would probably suck. Boring, monotonous, lifeless, had no charm of the earlier games. I hate it. Also yeah, Final Fantasy XIII. Couldn't make it past the first few hours before I wanted to tear my hair out.
  16. Well it'd be rather difficult to discuss this without spoilers, so I'd also like an answer. I hope the answer is spoilers ahoy, so long as you reflect it in the thread title.
  17. Precisely, and I always seem to forget that in the heat of the moment. Preachy is a pretty good word for it. It's definitely something I need to work on, but I've never been good at judging situations like that. I get so frustrated and caught up with not being able to understand them that I end up just making an ass out of myself. It certainly would do me a lot of good to learn how to listen more :/
  18. I don't really reprimand my viewpoint on those people so much as the way I communicate it. I'll always stand by what I believe, but wish I didn't give off a "higher-than-thou" persona, if that makes sense? I have trouble judging when an argument is, and isn't worth having. I always think I can change people, make them care about things, when sometimes there's really nothing I can do. It boils down to me having trouble keeping my big mouth shut, and it's led to a lot of conflict.
  19. It's for me to love and for you to gaze at longingly. Such is the nature of the hat.
  20. I guess if I had to say something, it'd be my inability to empathize with people whose ideals are drastically different than mine, to the point of coming across as rude and inconsiderate. Case in point: Apathy. I can't stand being around people who have no passion or drive for anything. I don't really care what it is you love, or what you're into, but I want you to love something. Have a passion for something--care about something, anything. Set goals for yourself, and push yourself to reach them. When I see people flippantly and lazily living their lives, well quite frankly it pisses me off. It's a waste of your own potential. But I have a lot of trouble communicating this viewpoint to others. I think I often come across as condescending or patronizing to people because of the way I act, which isn't really my intention. I have trouble masking my true opinions, and can be hurtful when I don't intend to be.
  21. I'm the same as Kaguya. I'll almost always watch the OP/ED when the show is ongoing, but if I'm marathoning an old show that I've seen before, I'll usually skip them after watching them a couple times. But for certain shows, I'll always watch the opening every time no matter what. I cannot watch an episode of Trigun and skip the opening. It's basically heresy.
  22. Love these giveaways. Thanks batman! 90 and 46. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDflVhOpS4E
  23. Welcome to Fuwa, hope you have a good time!
  24. Two instances stick out in my mind. My first time watching Gurren Lagann I plowed through everything post time-skip in one sitting. (Don't do that, it will hurt your brain). Second was all of Nichijou in one day. Looking back, I don't actually regret either.
  25. If you own a DS, then I would highly recommend checking them out. They're half "Escape the Room" puzzle game, half Visual Novel. If you like mystery/suspense, then 999/VLR are both fantastic, and will have enough twists and turns to keep you hooked through every single ending.
