Sisterly Bliss ~Don't Let Mom Find Out~
Mr Poltroon replied to Mr Poltroon's topic in Unformatted Walkthroughs
Are you sure? By following my current Good Ending guide for Futaba's the bar chart is looking like I landed in Futaba's good route. I can't confirm until I play it through, but does yours look like this? If that's still bad ending territory, then there's something odd with the game, as Ichika's values would be different from Futaba's, which isn't meant to be the case. -
Sisterly Bliss ~Don't Let Mom Find Out~
Mr Poltroon replied to Mr Poltroon's topic in Unformatted Walkthroughs
Right, the last choice in Futaba's route is incorrect. I was made aware of that just earlier today. Because of the way I've laid out the table I also can't answer your question in regards to the points. In order to get the good ending, you basically need more points in Futaba than in Ichika, but not too many more, or you'll end up in a bad ending. In theory, if you follow the Futaba guide and then try both of the options you've told me about for the last one, one of them should take you to the good ending (and I think it'd be choice 1.) but I may be mistaken. As I've said, the guide is incomplete and untested for now, but I should finish it within a few days. -
Sisterly Bliss ~Don't Let Mom Find Out~

I made a points guide just for the heck of it, but I wonder if there's a better way to format it...? Because of the way it is right now there's no easy way to explain how many points you need to enter a given route. I might switch to a positive/negative points system where Futaba is positive and Ichika is negative and then work off that. Seems to work better with the in-game bar chart too. I've only played one route, so I still need to test the stuff for Futaba's route, and I have no idea if choosing certain choices changes others still, so I might have to redo everything. -
WORK IN PROGRESS Sisterly Bliss ~Don't Let Mom Find Out~ Available on Mangagamer (NSFW) Summary Ichika and Futaba are so close it even surprises their friends and family at times. Ichika, the diligent, stubborn older twin, and Futaba, the childish, sociable younger twin, are an inseparable pair. But there's more to their love for each other than first meets the eye. Growing up, the two did everything together. No matter where they went, the twins were never apart. And even now that they've grown up, their personalities diverging and leading them to different hobbies, they're still as close as can be. For Ichika, the responsible big sister, looking out for childish, spoiled Futaba has become an everyday occurance, both at home and at school. But one day, worried that the twins are growing too close, their mother chastises them, explaining that there's a difference between being supportive of each other and being codependent. Regardless of how close they are, she says, they can't stay together forever. With that admonition, the twins' relationship begins to change. Lurking beneath Ichika's wish to see Futaba happy is a different feeling, one that torments her. A desire that cannot be fulfilled. And as their relationship changes, Futaba grows restless, seeing her wish to always be by Ichika's side drifting further and further away. What awaits these twins, who harbor feelings stronger than mere sisterly love? What form will their relationship take, and what conclusion will their story reach? Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order This game follows a system where each choice either gives points to Ichika, or it gives points to Futaba. There are two good endings and two bad endings. The ending you get is decided by the difference between the number of points each girl has. The order in which the choices are made is irrelevant. All that matters are the number of points accumulated. Therefore, there are many combinations of choices that will lead you to the desired route. Skip to the bottom of the Walkthrough section to see which choices give which points and decide for yourself, or follow your desired route's guide if you just want to end up on the correct route and don't care about choosing. This system is represented in-game via a two sided bar chart which you can visualise at any time by right clicking and selecting 'Status' in the menu that appears. Walkthrough The good/bad ends follow the exact same choices except the last two. Choose the other choice for the ones in bold to change from the good to the bad ending or the other way around. Ichika Good Ending Bad Ending Futaba Good Ending Bad Ending Points Guide Attribution All info tested by yours truly through playing the game. Summary stolen from Mangagamer description.

Transferred a lot of posts away from this thread. Please remain on topic. Posts about Adult Content being allowed on Steam, when unrelated to the topic at hand, are to go here. Sorry for the mess!

Melty's Quest does indeed contain a lot of fetishistic stuff. It's among the most hardcore stuff I've played (even if I skipped most of it). If this is allowed, I'd say just about all normal Japanese VNs should be allowed in, so long as they aren't nukige or trying to be messed up. And even those might be allowed depending on the content and the actual standards Valve are following, if any. At least, that's what currently seems to be the case. There is not particular guarantee they'll keep to this, but I'm an optimist. I'd like to think this will usher in a whole new side to Steam.

Happy birthday to one @Funyarinpa.

Yumina the Ethereal has one of my favourite casts of characters in Visual Novels. Yumina is one of the few examples of characters I can genuinely enjoy that fit the 'too dumb to live' trope.
-
A bit of both. Developers can put up their own tags (they're users too, you see), but it ends up being by public tagging in the end, as anyone can put some.

It seems your link links this thread. I don't know about this Visual Novel, but have an OP and a steam page. It seems to be the archetypal Steam moege with running a cafe and cute girls. I certainly know nothing about it.

Hmm... I feel as if I should... Hmm...

Nekonyan's Two August Announcements
Mr Poltroon replied to littleshogun's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Indeed. The main differences between NekoNyan and MangaGamer are two: NekoNyan is public about everything they're doing. Up until now, from the moment they announced a title we've always known what they were doing with it and what stage it is at. MangaGamer does have schedules, but we often don't know what they're doing. Once a title disappears from their sporadic project updates on twitter, lord knows what happens to them. Maybe they're stuck in tech work, maybe they're stuck in licensing stuff, we don't know. We might hear stuff from some of their freelancers, but otherwise... But MangaGamer does keep to a schedule and steady releases. It's just that this schedule involves holding onto stuff that's already finished and ready to release just to space out releases, something NekoNyan has avoided doing (mostly due to their relatively small size and how there's been thus far little overlap in the time they finish projects, meaning they haven't finished projects around the same time yet). The other difference is their age. I'm very happy people are positive about NekoNyan, but there is frankly very little to judge them by as of yet. How will they react if suddenly something goes wrong with engine work? Or if the Japanese developers change their mind about something near release? Or if mishaps occur due to performing translation, editing, and QA simultaneously (Fureraba was effectively riddled with typos, even if I loved the overall translation work). They way MangaGamer reacts to this kind of thing tends to be simple: Radio silence, but let's release something else from our backlog instead. They're sitting on top of some finished products and spacing them out in such a way that they can switch their schedule on the fly without having to announce particular delays. Consider ChuuableSoft's games: SukiSuki disappeared from their sporadic updates after TL and Editing was finished, as happens to most of their titles, but then we knew nothing about it for months. In the meantime, ChuuableSoft itself declared bankruptcy (or something similar?)! However, since MangaGamer doesn't announce anything about their projects until about a month before release, it's as if nothing happened. SukiSuki was simply one more of the titles they are piling up on their backlog and biding their time to release. -
Nekonyan's Two August Announcements

Yep. I like Fureraba's translation because I can just hear my younger sister's friends talking exactly like the teens in Fureraba. Not quite as ridiculous, but otherwise very similar to the typical choice of words and swearing every three that I am used to. I can't comment too much because I'm not a native, but I have little doubt that English-speaking high-schoolers speak like that to a greater extent than the mostly Japanese filtered manner in which such dialogue is usually translated. -

Lack of proper romance!?!? Absolutely disgusting. Look at me just skimming those bullet points. -
Nekonyan's Two August Announcements

NekoNyanSoft are relatively new. They translated and released Fureraba back in March. Their next release will be Sanoba Witch this October. They do translate and sell VNs and they're handled by some native staff, though a lot of them are actually based in Europe. None of the machine translation nonsense, but they haven't put out many titles themselves to judge by. Only Fureraba thus far. At any rate, they have seven projects thus far, and a lot of them are popular stuff. -

Doesn't seem like it. The developers did leak it would have an international version some time ago, and that might be where that idea comes from, as according to NekoNyan, the version they are using is based on the console version (there will be H-Scenes). -
More VNs with the (infamous) Ladder Structure like Grisaia and G-Sen
Mr Poltroon replied to a topic in Visual Novel Talk
Kamidori applies. At least to the main heroines. You're given a chance to go with the swordswoman, later on with the elf, and if you don't choose either then you'll automatically end up with Emilita. This has nothing to do with quests. These are traditional VN choices (and probably the only ones in the game?). -
I've read VNs twice. Generally speaking, however, when rereading I reread only the bits I want to. The Fruit of Grisaia, Majikoi, Little Busters!, Highway Blossoms... I've reread those, and there are others I'd be more than willing to. The Second Reproduction, for instance.
