  1. Started Ar tonelico II and thinking of saving for the Atelier Arland series. Also pretty far in .hack//outbreak but I've been playing more warframe again since a few weeks ago.. where I've set my eyes on getting Nova Prime.
  2. Cat scenes are the OP ones, I also like how the cat has its own VA haha.
  3. If you're not too attached to the usual stereotypes you see in Japanese VNs this is pretty nice to read. The setting is explained in much detail, maybe a little too much detail for some people's tastes, but it's interesting to read how everything works in the world the characters live in. The pacing is surprisingly good as well and the characters are interesting and likable (unless they are meant to not be ). Regarding choices: so far I only encountered choices when REAL decisions had to be made, so for me thats a plus because I don't like unnecessary choices. Personally I like the art, even the backgrounds are pretty detailed. The effect playing during character perspective switches can be quite annoying if perspectives change a lot. Imagine seeing a switch effect after every few sentences before it continues. I only encountered this once though, I hope it won't happen again too often. So far I think its really worth the 10 euros I paid for it! I was pleasently surprised by the quality of it. I have to say it only got my attention after seeing it wasn't a typical Japanese VN, because I'm just really sceptic when it comes to OELVNs. I really hope more VNs like An Octave Higher will appear in the future. Also really looking forward to seeing more of Cursed Sight.
  4. Bought this recently and I've been enjoying it so far, but I just like these kind of things in general. I agree it's a bit similar to Fault, but I feel the pacing is a bit better (at least in the beginning).
  5. Yes Decim made a dummy for her too, so she can always be there with him I like Decim so much. And that final episode ;-; ..... for an anime with only 12 episodes it was so enjoyable. And don't forget...
  6. PS4 is already worth it for me if I have at least 2 games I can play on it (that are only available for PS4). I heard some rumors about a pc release for FFXV, but that is most unlikely.. only people with the best PCs would be able to play it somewhat normal.
  7. Muv-Luv (Alternative)
  8. Thanks, I guess I'll try it and if it really turns out to be too hard for now I'll just stall it! This is also what I did with totono when I first started it, and now I can read it without any problems Learning is fun when it's working out haha That last ending in Saya no Uta and then Kanako Itou... all the feels are returning..
  9. Oh my, scary heroine and messy things happening, this sounds like something I could be interested in. Could you say a bit more about reading difficulty for this one?
  10. Happy Birthdays to Beato!! <CONGRATULATIOOONS!>
  11. nyaaaaa~ best thread ever made!
  12. Just got my first ending in totono, it's the bad ending (or one of them?). It was pretty fast, I haven't been reading for even 4 hours or so.. But after seeing this ending I can kind of imagine where this story will go eventually (I think..or more like hope!). Anyway, I'm sure this is going to get good, I can feel it! In this ending Also, I love these "living in a real world or is the real world actually a game" kinda things.
  13. oooOOOOO HOH HOH HOH hoh
  14. Happy Birthday to FinalChaos! \o/
  15. You make my expectations really high, and omg what is that number! I'm so curious, I'll remember this for when I get to the point of needing it!
  16. I'd also go for Steins;Gate or Muv-Luv (Alternative), can't pick between those 2 though that's up to you and your preferences. I guess if you feel like you're strong enough to endure a few hours of brainless stuff before some nice stuff happens, go for mabu rabu. If you just want to read something good immediately, just go for Steins;Gate.
  17. Picked up totono again after a long break. [ruru] I'm realy enjoying it, it's the first VN in a while where I can't stop reading after starting. Also this guy... *grins at picture*
  18. Happy birthdays to InvertMouse and astro
  19. Congratulations ^^ Everything you describe here is so recognizable! You can only get till a certain point by just learning the raw grammar rules. Reading through that one route has probably been the best and most rewarding Japanese lesson you've had so far and it will become so much easier to read or even start something from now on. Keep it up \o/
  20. Thats a big plus for LNs indeed. I feel more comfortable reading LNs in the bus and train than having a big colorful screen that's constantly moving. Colors and shiny stuff attracts peoples gazes... -_-
  21. I don't read many light novels, I do have a backlog.. -_- The last light novel (if not the only one) I remember reading is Fate/Zero. Let's say that if a story was written in both VN and LN form, I'd go for the VN. I prefer VNs over LNs because I'm actually pretty bad at reading big walls of text. In VNs text appears line by line which makes it really easy and fast to read. I like LNs too, but it takes longer and more effort to read!
  22. I would never really do that.. unless the content is so interesting or difficult it's worth to read it a second time. Even then, for more than 2 routes..never. I also don't think most common routes are made to read multiple times anyway, it's more like a (sometimes really long..) introduction before things start to get real!
  23. Hm.. it doesn't necessarily ruin anything for me. I'm not the person to look at the vndb average rating and think "oh I guess it has a good score, so it must be good!". Ratings are so personal, some people have most of their ratings between 7 and 10, that would mean if they would rate something 6/10 it probably wasn't enjoyable at all in their eyes *looks at Vokoca* while other people might not even have a single 10/10 in their list, and have a lot of 5/10 and 6/10. Obviously their 6/10 doesn't have the same meaning. Also people that didn't read too much yet have much higher ratings most of the time. For me the only way ratings can go up or down in my list is because I have no other choice. I rated my first 3 novels 10/10, when I read something better than that 10/10, what was I supposed to do besides lowering some! I started with whole numbers ( 6/10 and 8/10) then started with 6,5 and 8.5, now I already have a few 7.8/10, just to give them a little bit more honor than the 7.5/10's, lol
  24. It's mindfuck sci-fi and like Clephas said, you gotta love it. From your description it sounds like this won't be your cup of tea. I wouldn't recommend Remember11 either, so maybe you should try something like Ever17 if you want something similar but easier to wrap your mind around.
