Now you have just made me even more curious. I swear one of these days I'm gonna breakdown and force myself to learn Japanese. I like how down to earth and likeable Chika is. Maybe it's just because she is different from everyone else in that respect. Yeah in Majikoi S I think.
-
It really is a shame that only the teacher side route got translated I really want to play through Chika's route. She is probably my favorite side character.
-
Actually 3 minor side routes, Mayo, Chika, and the teacher.

I really hope this continues for all of the games in the series. It might seem dumb, but one of my favorite things to do in Suikoden 3 was to make the characters act in the theatre just to see what would happen. Unfortunately you needed save data from both the first games to even get all of the plays, and by the time the ps2 rolled around I had gotten rid of my old save data and traded my games with friends only to never see my copies again, so I never even got to see all of the wacky antics that the game had to offer. It really is amazing that an unused copy of Suikoden 2 actually sells for more than a brand new PS4.

Really? But it's the same character as this. Surely all of her forms must be female as well. (At least I'll tell myself that so that I can get through her route without feeling awkward.)
-
Does this count?

Controller is gonna give you much more accurate and precise control, and give you an overall better feel for this type of game. Maybe? I use a 360 controller too, but I really hate the d-pad on that thing especially for arcade style fighting games, It really messes with me when I am in PVP and go to swap one slot and end up swapping 2 by accident because for some reason they decided it wouldn't be good to just have buttons there.

Well.... 'Twas this heinous pun made in errant jest that thou hast to blame for thine current predicament.
-
Well it looks like I'll be paying her route another visit sooner than I expected because I have obviously missed something. It's been a while though, now the only question is whether to restart her route completely or not.
-
It's all just a ruse, say what you will, but I know he's really after Ouraibaa....that guy gets all the fans.

Had they been cryogenizing two people it would have actually made sense and would have not been an issue. I've read a little bit of Umineko, it requires some mental gymnastics sometimes but on the whole the plot is fairly solid. So your saying that freezing Lucia wasn't the antagonists top priority? Because if so then I won't nitpick at a concept that isn't even the true goal of the villain in this route. I just couldn't stand watching them tout such a contrived and asinine method of saving the world as a means to cause tension between Lucia and Kotarou when the writing had been superb thus far. It could have been handled much better than it was and it left me with a really bitter feeling afterwards because it felt like the author simply stopped caring about the credibility of his own work.

I have two savedata folders that G-Senjou created on my computer when I installed it. One in the installation directory and the other in my documents folder. If you didn't delete both of them try the one you didn't delete. You likely deleted the one in your documents folder as that is the one that contains .bmp image files. Try going to the install directory or the folder with all of the games files and you will see what I mean. You can just right click on G-Senjou's icon and go to properties and you will either see something like a "Find Target" or "Go To" option and that will allow you to get there quicker.

Maybe it was just me, but during Thomas's section in Suikoden III It took a slight bit of grinding to be able to get certain characters ready to defend the castle and repel the invaders. Other than that though yeah there isn't much grinding needed at all.
-
So is the antagonist lying to Lucia and just wants to watch her suffer or does she actually believe the project is possible as is? I might actually be able to accept the former. Suspension of disbelief is likely not a literary term that many are familiar with as it isn't used very often. I probably could have explained myself better when I used it earlier.
-
Wait isn't this exactly what I meant by limiting your personal bias? In what sort of way is the reason driving both the antagonist and Lucia to do the things that they do trivial and not a main plot point? Are you suggesting that in order for me to actually enjoy this route that I need to ignore half of the main plot? http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/wear_rose-colored_glasses
-
Are you honestly suggesting that it is impossible to examine a work of fiction without limiting your own personal bias? Then please do tell me why people now have jobs as film critics. It isn't impossible to examine a story while being both understanding and critical of it. See this is why I suggested that you were only looking at this from a viewpoint of wearing rose-colored glasses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_of_disbelief There exists an understood sense of reality that you allow yourself to believe in within all works of fiction, it is what allows you to actually enjoy the story. It is the job of the author to make his story believable and coherent if he has failed to do this then he has done something wrong. Lets me use a hypothetical yet relevant situation as an example. Lets say that instead of what happened during Lucia's route Kotarou woke up one morning and Lucia was gone and was suddenly replaced by Chihaya. Not only that, everyone in the story now even Kotarou now refers to Chihaya as "Lucia" even though she doesn't act like Lucia at all, but still has Chihaya's personality and characteristics. You as the reader know this, but the characters end up acting like this is a natural development, and so the route come to an end with Chihaya taking Lucia's place with no rhyme or reason at all. The author just doesn't even bother to explain or make it clear why this happens throughout the entirety of the route. Would you consider this Impossible? Could it possibly ruin your immersion? Would you consider it bad writing? Maybe some people actually liked this scenario are they wrong for it? Point is that Ryukishi didn't cover all of his bases and didn't make his story believable enough to me by providing substantial evidence as to why this is possible within the world he created, and this is what caused my suspension of disbelief to reach it's breaking point and ruin all of my immersion and enjoyment with the route, and is why it is my opinion is that her route consisted of bad writing. I don't recall them ever saying anything of the sort, but if I am mistaken then could someone please by all means tell me where this happens. If this is true then I would be willing to give her route another go and I might reform my opinion of it. She had a good route until the story no longer began to make any sense to me.

Majikoi VN Miyako and Agave Translation Status
Seath replied to The Protagonist's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
I believe that the chatter thread actually does serve a purpose. The full translation of the first Majikoi game is something that has been waited on for a very long time and for a while there was actually no hope of seeing it translated at all until that thread was created and actually caused some capable people to undertake the task of getting it translated. More than simply going there every day for idle chatter I think that it's also to remind the people who are actually doing the translating that they still have a lot of people eagerly awaiting all of their hard work at the end of the day which helps to keep morale up and keep a project which has died off completely before alive this time. -
W-what?....you can't seriously mean that you actually....*sigh*.......These Damn Russians and their backwards s'mores.
-
Don't know what to make of all the gratuitous Russian praise, oh well....

Seems like a lot of people around here have their rose-colored glasses on too tightly. Plot can't stand by itself on Romance alone. This ^ It doesn't matter that Ryukishi wrote this he isn't a perfect being he is just a person and people can make mistakes just as no story is perfect and everything has it's flaws. It's all fine and well to like Lucia's route that is your opinion, but what shouldn't be appended to your opinion is that the writing was a golden masterpiece because you are thinking entirely subjectively and not bothering to account for any of it's shortcomings. Try looking at it from an objective angle and you might actually notice some of its flaws. You can like the route just fine. but a plot that lacks any sense of coherence or realistic implications doesn't make good writing. Bad plot is bad simple as that. If you really want to argue your reasons for the writing being good then I challenge you after reading my earlier post to explain to me how it is actually both a realistic and feasible scenario in the fist place. Every story has its flaws and Lucia's route has a myriad of them far from being perfect, but I don't begrudge anyone for liking it as that is their own opinion.

Haven't played Quartett yet, though its on my to do list, but wasn't there at least 1 busty character in it? You really can't get much flatter than littlewitch's standard of flat.
-
Have you ever read a VN by Littlewitch called Period? If you can get past the unique artstyle that makes it looks like every character has the same face with different eyes and hairstyles. It's the only VN I have ever played where every heroine is just that. Meaning they are all flat as a board.

Hey look someone else actually did get my reference. Have another like good sir. He single handedly caused the deaths of an entire race of immortal dragons solely because of his jealousy which is why I said you don't want em scaleless....they fuck shit up.
-
Just make sure it has scales...bad things happen when dragons don't have scales.
-
It's a subjective thing I just have a low tolerance for things I find to be too nonsensical. At least in VN's that i'm supposed to take seriously.
